Their service was abysmal on Tuesday morning and I literally had my blood boiling (I work in healthcare and it is usually hard for me to reach this point). Loooove this place! The honeybee latte is the best latte i've ever had. You can taste the honey and there's a good amount of cinnamon. They have food here and room to do work/ study. First time coming here and i won't be returning. The cashier was kind of rude (made me a little nervous for the rest of the interaction) , i understand sometimes the place is busy but it was me and someone else behind me. I have been to siphon several times. The coffee and food are always top tier for a coffee shop. They have several options for non-dairy milks and interesting flavors for espresso drinks like rose water and lavender. The music is soft pop which I love. I know the songs but they aren't too distracting. The atmosphere can get quite loud because some people do working meetings here, but it's understandable. The dining area is always clean and comfortable if you're looking for a space to work. The service is variable. I have found myself waiting unnecessarily long in line because the barista taking orders has gotten distracted. read more

Pretty inconvenient seating, since there's no consideration about placing outlets in the coffee shop unless you're sitting against the window walls which only seat 9 people. So you have the majority of the store unable to plug in their electronics. Also I was told that "we don't have the ability to warm up drinks" after I came to the counter since my drink had gotten cold. You guys don't have a microwave or what? Chairs are comfortable, parking is accessible. But wouldn't come here for extended stays or to rely on having a warm drink. Also, it's pretty cold. I love the atmosphere of the place! It's a very good coffee shop to study at or hang out with friends. The coffee never disappoints. Pros: Friendly staff, plenty of comfy seating (inside and outside), pet-friendly, good lighting, clean bathrooms, complimentary water. Cons: Limited charging ports near couch and middle of the room. I ordered the Spicy Maple Latte, which was good but a tad too spicy, and the RIP Rose which was smooth and better in-my-opinion. The mushroom + spinach quiche is pretty yummy too! This coffee shop was okay. I enjoyed my coffee but found everything to be expensive. I got an iced white mocha and 2 beef empanadas. Again, both tasted good but overly priced. The guy working the cashier wasn't friendly and couldn't ever seem to hear me so I had to repeat myself a lot. I stayed for about 5 hours sitting at the high stools because that's where the outlets were and the couches were taken. I wasn't comfortable and did my work standing a lot of the times.They had an outdoor area that was nice but I don't like staying in the heat. Bathrooms were clean and COVID friendly with sensor flushing, soap, and sink. It's okay but not sure I found the drive worth visiting this place again. read more

Awesome place. Cozy interior. Went on a Saturday morning to read and honestly it was a nice vibe for it!! It was pretty busy - people shuffling in and out to grab their morning coffee drinks. Relatively ample seating - it's a little packed in so don't go here if you need ample table space for working. On the note of working - there are not many outlets here so I think choosing Siphon to read or chat with friends is more ideal. Coffee quality is solid! A bit pricey but my latté tasted smooth and delicious. Highly recommend for a visit. Great signature coffee drinks and they also have open mic/comedy events ! read more

Been to a fair share of coffee shops, and I have to say this is not high up on my list :( I really wanted to like this because it's one of the few coffee shops in Houston that have reliable wifi. I've been here on several occasions but haven't written a review. I got the honey latte with oat milk. It cost a little over $7, and it was nothing spectacular. Yes, it was decent cup of coffee, but not worth the price, quantity, or quality. I usually don't care for latte art, but I was hoping to see something if the cup was $7. Beans are also too acidic for my taste. The coffee shop is quite small, so I wouldn't recommend coming here with more than 2-3 people, including yourself if you're planning on getting work done here. Three people is pushing it. They have a small parking lot that they share with other small businesses, and there is also street parking. Even with the additional street parking, siphon is a place that I only go to on weekdays bc the parking is way too difficult on the weekends. There have been a few occasions where I just ended up leaving for a different place because I was circling around for parking for way too long. I also had difficulty finding an outlet. I will say that I do like how much natural lighting there is here. Overall, due to the price of coffee, limited space, and limited parking, siphon isn't my go-to coffee shop. I mainly come here to work if I have to, but it's not preferable. Honestly, the only reason why I didn't give it 2 stars was because I didn't have a bad experience with staff. Coffee is pretty good and comparable cost for the space and area. Pastries are fresh. The manager's YouTube videos about his shoe collection are always playing on loop, it's a vibe and I guess good for him for using his place of business to promote his personal brand and get those views up. However, there are two signs at the register that kind of suck. One says, "WE IMPOSE A SURCHARGE ON CREDIT CARDS THAT IS NOT GREATER THAN OUR COST OF ACCEPTANCE" and the other says, "Sorry for the Inconvenience, we don't accept Cash -Siphon Crew." I understand that we are moving away from a cash society and that there are significant costs in both money and time for a business to deal in cash, but if a business is not going to accept cash as an option then they also shouldn't have a big old sign out saying that they charge extra for the credit card that you are now required to use. Simply have it baked into the cost, no sign necessary. read more

We loved this place and went there so often as one of our favorites I received a $5 reward. But when I showed it to the cashier he said it was already used. It was embarrassing in front of my friend and I told him I just received it that day on my phone so I couldn't of used it. We waited patiently as he tried to figure out how to apply the credit. After all that time he still didn't apply it to our order and rang it through. I then had to wait for a manager to fix it. They said they couldn't fix it because he rang it already and it would be in our credit card statement in a few days. No apology and thanks for embarrassing me by saying I was part of some great five dollar coffee scam and already used it. The "Avocado Toast" was a sad compilation of two pastry puff halves with some wet avocado chunks and a couple cherry tomato halves. It looked pathetic and unappealing. Siphon is a solid coffee shop worth a visit if you're in the area. It has been a while since I've been there last and was glad to know during my recent visit that they're still doing a good job. I've pretty much have only tried their chai tea latte which is good! They have plenty of seating (and a good amount of outlets inside) including outdoor seating. Luckily, my friend and I happened to be there while they were doing a steak night special (so cool) for such a good deal. It was $25 for steak, mash potatoes, and brussels mixed with a potatoe hash AND a glass of wine! For what we paid it was great! The sides were yummy and the steak was good (more of a family/friend grill at a bbq in park quailty if that makes any sense). The steak dinner was a delicious pleasant surprise. We enjoyed it and ended up take leftovers home. The atmosphere is great as well as the customer service. The staff and patrons are friendly! Keep up the great work Siphon Coffee. Tried many coffee places during our stay in Midtown and this was by far our favorite in terms of coffee quality and ambiance. Went back 3 times and bought some beans to take back. The inner loop is what they use for their espressos (in case you're wondering). Great, comfortable seating that fits all types of parties (by yourself), meeting a friend, wanting to look out the window, large table, and outdoor seating available. Really good pastries. The banana bread comes with orange cream cheese (yummy! Almost a clotted cream texture). Parking is a bit of a issue throughout the day, but you can park on the streets. Service is decent. Fast, efficient, not chatty, but friendly if you have questions. Self bussing style, but seems like they must clean the table well since I never encountered a dirty table. read more

I took my mom here on Mother's Day because she also shares a love for coffee and wanted her to experience something a little different. We, of course, had to try the siphoned brewed coffee! We came right on time with no line at the front. We also tried one of their hand made banana bread mini loafs. The siphon coffee wasn't the greatest but it was definitely a cool experience.
