This place was amazing. I went in the morning and the place wasn't too busy. Coffee was good but the pastries we got was even better. I sat outside and the seating was pretty good. read more

The honey bee latte is amazing! Also love the taco grande- such a great deal. Pastries are half off after 5pm. Lots of study space and good parking! Definitely a must visit and one of the best coffee shops in town read more

I went here with some friends to have a small meeting and it was nice! they had some really really friendly baristas and lots of seating. A lot of the seating was that bar/high top table and chair thing but there were some regular tables and a few couches with low tables. I got a hibiscus tea which was really good. I think I would go back in the future but it was a bit noisy and at times feels a little packed so I'm not sure how it would be for studying read more

Still a good place, they dropped the sausage Benedict and spicy latte (a long time ago) ... my two favorite things

I came on a Friday afternoon to meet up with some friends after work. It is a cute cafe with a nice outdoor seating. Comfortable enough to get a bit of work done if needed. They are dog friendly outside and you can ask for a doggie bowl. read more

Siphon Coffee was great! We came here because they had a dog-friendly patio and it did not disappoint. We went on a Saturday morning and it was quite crowded - there was almost no seating inside. The parking lot was also full, but there's a lot of street parking nearby. They have a nice outdoor seating area to the side, kind of like a small alley. Unfortunately, it had rained recently and all the seating was very wet. They also have two small covered tables up front which we opted for instead. I had the fried chicken sandwich and my friend and I shared the siphon for two. The fried chicken sandwich was good - crunchy and had a good spice flavoring on the coating, but was a little bit on the salty side. I'll be honest - I'm far from a coffee snob and did not feel the siphon coffee tasted any different from regular coffee, but watching them make it was definitely very interesting. Overall, very nice seating/environment, good food, and good coffee. Would come back! read more

First time coming to Siphon Coffee and it is SO GREAT. We came to study and there is lots of seating with charging ports. There are a lot of medical students here studying, so you know it's a good spot. Their food and drinks are priced well ($5 for a vanilla latte, ~$4 for americano, and $10 for a burger/sandwich). The latte I had was very well done with a delicious medium roast and in-house syrup. The americano was a very potent light roast with complex and beautiful fruity notes. We were here for a few hours, and notably this place is well connected with the community. There are events here a few times a month, open for singer/songwriters and comedians. read more

Totally fine coffee spot. The ambiance was good and comfortable. The service was reasonably good. I enjoyed the coffee. The avocado toast was very bland and expensive for the quality. I think this was my bad for ordering it, but I'd recommend others choose from their better known options. read more

Siphon is a coffee bar in the Montrose area. Their name comes from their coffee-making method using a Japanese siphon machine. This method uses a vacuum process that pulls water through a filter, extracting oils and flavors from coffee beans creating a richer flavor. This is a great place to have a small business meeting or meet up with friends. There are several seating options from high tables, chairs, and comfy couches. There is also a nice patio area. The chicken and waffles are a must-try and there are also keto options which is always a huge plus. read more

Look, I don't really review stuff very often so I will take this for what it's worth.: I used to come here all the time but it's getting worse and worse. I realize not everybody may agree with me on this one point but it's almost halfway through 2021, over 100 million people of been vaccinated, and you still have to wear a mask to go in? I know it's not a lot anymore so they are forcing this on the customers by choice. And of course since you don't have to wear a mask while enjoying a beverage inside it's all basically performative And yes, I'm a big digital guy but I just happened to walk down here with a 20 in my pocket and the fact I didn't take cash is also pretty lame. Luckily I had my phone and could use Apple Pay but what the hell. But all that could be forgiven if not for the fact that I had to stand there with no one in front of me for about 15 minutes while to people scramble around Before the lady could take my order for a drip coffee Then the lady after all that asks if I want to tip. Yeah normally I throw a buck in the bucket but that's a pretty awkward way to go about it. To top it off, the coffee wasn't even all that hot or all that good. Time for a new shop read more

Great atmosphere! Variety of drink selections! & pretty good eats! Had a first time visit with some friends this weekend and while there was already planning when I'd be back. I ordered a glass of Chardonnay and two empanadas (one beef and one chicken); found myself very pleased with all. Both empanadas were good, but the chicken one was definitely tastier. We initially sat outside (super cute patio area) but we were quickly invaded by flies and just couldn't take it any longer so decided to move inside. The couches are super comfy and another customer playing the piano just created such a chill vibe. Basically a cute place for friends, a date night, studying, solo-visit...all of that! :) read more

Siphon has had a glow up since I was last here! Plenty of seating now, quick wifi, and the coffee menu is extensive and fabulous. Loved getting a recommendation from a friendly barista. Only complaint is the majority of seating was backless stools which can be uncomfy for longer periods read more

I have only made one trip to Siphon, but I will be planning future trips. I went on a relatively busy Saturday mid-morning, so many people were there enjoying breakfast foods. There were a lot of seating options, from bar to table to couch. Even then, I managed to snag a seat at the seats along the window. There were a lot of outlets everywhere, which was convenient, as well as decent WiFi. The coffeeshop was filled with a mix of people there getting work done, and people enjoying their coffee. After lunch time, most people had their laptops out. I had a cold brew, which is very smooth, and a cranberry scone as unfortunately they were out of their daily savory scone :( I was not disappointed in either of choices. On their food and drink offering alone I would love to come back, but you throw in the space and I'm definitely coming back. Parking can fill up relatively quickly depending on when you go, but it seems like there are at least a few options for close curb-side parking. read more

Siphon Coffee is a dream come true for any coffee lover. My bf and I tried their rose cardamom latte, and lavender latte today, which tasted phenomenal. Their syrups are made in-house, which is a strong extract of the flavors without any sugar. So yes - it isn't sweet. But that's exactly how I like my coffee. Ambience feels nice and lively. It's a small space and too crowded for my preference during the current COVID pandemic. Otherwise, it would be a great place to study or have a meet up with a friend. read more

Ok this coffee is kind of expensive but it's very good. It's obvious they keep the environment in mind: they ask if you want your item To Go or for there, and give you real glassware if you're staying. They have actual silverware which is nice too. The man that helped me at the counter was extremely nice when I couldn't make up my mind if I was staying or going read more

Came by on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed! Got the chocolate chip cookie, it was huge, warm, and very chocolatey. They have outdoor seating on the side as well, it's very cozy. Pkasters! I found another fun coffee house to kick it at! This is a nice spot. Noisy enough to bring headphones if your easily distracted. But if you like the sounds of engaging conversations, coffee being served and people open to sharing space with you then this is the spot for you. I just wish they stayed open later. But that's a good thing. When you come thru tell them Pk sent you. read more

Still haven't figured out the timing of this place. I've been twice. The first time I scored a parking space right across from the door. The second time I parked a couple blocks away in the neighborhood. First time I got prime seating at a large table near an outlet. The second time I was at a wobbly table getting bumped by everyone who walked by. I guess, given how busy the place can get I should just be glad I had a seat. Now that I'm typing this out I see my first visit was sprinkled with fairy dust. Based on all the reviews I've read, lot parking and great seating are myths. So never mind, I won't complain. I'll just keep trying to recreate my first visit because I like the lattes and atmosphere. read more

This review is based solely on the salted chocolate chip cookie, which is amazing! The cookie is chewy but still soft, with big chocolate chunks throughout and a good sprinkle of sea salt on top to cut the sweetness. I would highly recommend it just slightly warmed with a tall glass of whatever drink suits your fancy. 10/10 delicious cookie! read more

I love the lattes and aesthetics of this coffee shop. I'm sure a lot of other people also have similar opinions because this place is often crowded so it can be hard to find a spot. However, I love how they have outdoor seating as well that is perfect for fall and winter weather. It is a good place to do work or to catch up with a friend. Parking can be difficult to find too depending on how crowded it gets. read more

Came for a weekday breakfast with a friend of mine so we could eat grab coffee and spruce up our resumes. The baristas who made and took our order were both really friendly and helpful with suggestions for folks who've never been before (I hadn't). The beef empanada with chimichurri was delicious, as was the mushroom spinach quiche. I ordered a Barista's Choice coffee and received an iced latte with rose cardamom, white mocha, topped with cinnamon. It was fantastic and I'll probably be back soon. read more

Siphon Coffee - photo of our table outdoors, from the perspective of my friend who ordered a latte and Sweet Scone - Cafes Near Me - Houston, Texas

$7 for a small cup of chai is absolutely ridiculous. It took them forever to make my drink despite the fact that I was the only person to order in 10 minutes, and they didn't blend the chai at all. The specks of chai powder were stuck in my mouth, the sides of the cup, and the bottom of the cup. The only good thing about this cafe is that it's open until 10pm, but the prices nor the quality justify future visits. I do not recommend. read more

Absolutely fab! The coffee was delicious - I recommend the honey latte - and the food was phenomenal! The empanadas were tasty, and the breakfast sandwich was to die for. It's an okay coffee shop to work in but honestly not a great place overall. The staff is loud and vulgar. The service is ok. They get your food and drinks our fast. but you really can't ask questions without getting a borderline sarcastic and snarky response from the staff. At first I was like "oh this must be one of those places where the theme is to treat people poorly and have bad attitudes." I've actually been to those places and they are kind of fun and hilarious. But then I realized that it's not this type of place and the staff overall is just rude to customers. It's very cold inside normally. The drinks are okay. The environment is okay Everything is "okay" here. Positivities are the Wi-Fi works well, and as long as you have headphones in you can lock in relatively un disturbed. I would say this could be a 4 star shop with a few staff moves. Right now definitely more of a 2 star experience every time I've walked in. After going there probably 4 times total in the last month or so, the last time I went, I decided that there are much better coffee shops to hang out in Houston. read more

Slowest coffee shop inside the loop. If you place an order at counter, be prepared to wait 20-30 min. If you placed an order online, its AT LEAST 30 min. They only use one barista. Go somewhere else, there isnt a lack of other good shops in the area. Try Blacksmith or Della read more

Met a friend here for coffee and considering I am not from the area, it was pretty easy to find. The block of businesses has a modest parking lot and I was able to get a spot right away. My first impression when I walked in was "oh this place is cute! Classy!" and my next thought was "there's a LOT of studying going on in here!" I almost felt like I should have brought a book with me instead of meeting to chat. But it was comfy/cozy. I ordered an Americano. It was nice and smooth. Also had a piece of banana bread - not what I would normally pick first, but the cashier recommended it because I couldn't make up my mind since all their pastries looked so good. It was actually really good! read more

They have an array of food options but also have unique speciality lattes that taste amazing! The service is also really good! It was just okay. Crowded and my table had leftover crumbs on it. Wifi was good but not many options for outlets. Parking was a breeze and we love that. However my golden milk latte quickly separated. When I was done I took my cup up to the counter to not be rude. There was already a dirty glass up there and the barista tells me to place it in a bus bin across the shop. That's interesting because I could have left it on the table if we're being honest. If they bussed the shop on their own, there may be cleaner areas to work. read more

Mocha is good but attitude is BAD. Why were these people even hired? I'm sorry if there are a couple of decent workers here but they are completely outnumbered by the rude and obnoxious ones. The guy who takes the order acted like it was my fault they ran out of mocha at 8am. If you don't enjoy your job, please do your boss a huge favor and leave! Tried an item off their new fall menu (honey nut, s'mores, salted caramel latte) with almond milk and my total was $7.58. They have pre made snacks (like muffins and empanadas - there's no menu) and canned beer and wine available. Calm vibes, you can hear the person next to you without shouting, decent seating but plan to park on the street in the neighborhood. Most of the music is 90s 2000s R&B. Most of the patrons appear to be in the 27-37 yro range and 99% of people are on their laptops (bring a backup power source). read more

Super cute coffee shop with a unique menu and AMAZING coffee! I love that they use Amaya beans because they are my favorite beans. I wanted to try the classic latte since it was my first time but I definitely hope to try some of the more unique flavors next time I go! The ambiance of this cafe was perfect for hanging out with friends or getting work done! They also seem to have regular events like open mic and trivia night so I'll definitely have to come back for one of those! Oh man, there's so many things great things about this place. Siphon has got the killer vibes topped with the best drinks ever. Service was friendly (They're definitely willing to explain each drink if it's your first time coming!) and wifi was reliable as well. It's an awesome place to meet up with friends or study. DRINKS: In terms of drinks, I got the caramel latte, and it was utterly perfect - it was sweet but not to the point to where it diluted the coffee taste. I think it was one of the best lattes I've had. I also love how the barista called my name, and I watched as he was making the latte art with the steamed milk right in front of me. It really added to the experience! VIBES AND SEATING: The inside has this cool industrial feel with lightbulb lights and a brown wooden aesthetic throughout. It's very modern. At the same time, you have all different kinds of seating areas to choose from. Indoors, there are leather sofas, tall chairs next to the windows, or even nice large tables if you want to lay out your books/papers. If weather's good, I also recommend checking the outdoor patio space where it's really peaceful and has a beautiful rainbow-colored mural to accompany you. read more
