Came here and got the Sip Pho combo. Really solid bowl, especially for being so close to campus. The broth was flavorful, clean, and comforting, and the portion felt just right. They have a UT student discount if you show your ID, which is a nice bonus. You order at the counter and self serve your own water and drinks, so everything feels quick and casual. The vibes are very nice and aesthetic, clean and modern without feeling too busy.
I love trying new pho places. After a day of thrifting, this place hit the spot. The cucumber fountain drink was so refreshing and light for a hot summer day. It was easy to order, the portions are large, and the atmosphere was relaxing. Service was great! If we lived closer, we would dine here more often.
Just got dinner from here for the first time and ordered the beef pho and it was delicious! I got the rare steak for my protein and it was pretty good. The broth was great and I loved how they had an area with extra limes and toppings for the pho. The restaurant was very unassuming from the outside so I was very surprised by how cute it was when we walked in. Service was also very good and our food came out super fast!
A classic Pho staple right near campus. Although I'm not always craving this place, it does hit the spot eventually on rainy days which are the only times I come. I always get their seafood pho which has generous helpings of seafood. The broth is slightly bland but that can be easily remedied with sriracha and hoisin. I've tried their rangoons and bbq buns and those were actually really amazing. The bbq pork was marinated really well and cooked amazingly. The only downside is that the items are slightly pricey.
This is a perfect low key date on a cold day souper cozy pho . The line was long but the pho was fast . The service was professional . Parking could be an issue on a weekend night beware . The pho was rich a flavorful . The crab Rangoon's were fried beautifully . I think this is a great solo date or couple date . O
Absolutely loved this place!! Everything we ordered was so good, but the Wagyu pho really stood out super rich, flavorful broth and the beef just melts in your mouth. The brisket pho was also great, comforting and packed with flavor. Crab rangoons were obviously amazing as well. The food came out fast, hot, and fresh, and you can tell they really care about quality. The place is super cute on the outside and inside as well. This is definitely going into my regular rotation whenever I'm craving pho. Can't wait to come back soon!!!
Craving Pho and made a stop here on a Saturday a little before 2pm. Parking is terrible but if you can walk or find a spot it's definitely worth it. Ordered the waygu pho and the vermicelli short ribs. Got seated inside and we were served very promptly. First out was the pho waygu. The waygu portion was very sizable which for the price was appropriate. Cooked directly how you like in the steaming bowl of broth. The meat was fresh and tender, the broth was spiced beautifully. Very rich and flavorful. The short ribs were also delicious, albeit served not at the same time. Marinated in a sweet savory sauce, slightly chewy but this did NOT detract from the overall deliciousness of the dish. Heaping portions of both. The place is an order at the counter, served at the table spot with indoor and outdoor seating. Kinda tight on room inside but still an OK set up. The prices are def not poor college kid prices, over $50 for our two dishes but again, banging flavors and huge portions so worth it if you come hungry and are craving some great Vietnamese food.
Sip Pho is the spot! Came here on a Sunday during brunch hours after a night of drinking, and this place hit the spot! We ordered the pork egg rolls, "The Works" Pho (Pho Dac Biet for us Viet folks), Bun Bo Hue, and Vietnamese Coffee. Everything we ordered was phenomenal. The quality of the food and portion size was worth it. The Bun Bo Hue came with a huge short rib, and had meat normally found in Pho. It was unique to see and very tasty. Located near UT- Austin, so generally had a younger crowd as well as local families wanting to enjoy delicious Pho. You order at the counter and then seat yourself after. Chill atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating. Absolutely recommend this place and will be back!
Rating: 4.1/5 [dine in] There's limited parking in front of the restaurant, but we were lucky to snag a spot right out front. To dine in, you order at the counter first; they'll then assign you a table and give you a table number. The food came out fairly quickly, and the portion sizes were generous but it was lacking the Vietnamese authenticity we were looking for. The interior design is very cozy with cool hanging paper fans. Rice Grill Combo ($18): You get to choose two proteins; we picked the pork chops and beef short ribs. It also comes with a side of light broth. The short ribs were better than the pork chops, but overall, the dish didn't really stand out. Matcha Thai Tea with Aloe Vera Jelly ($6.50) + Oat Milk Sub ($0.50): Pretty good! It had that distinct green Thai tea flavor that paired nicely with the matcha. The aloe vera jelly made it especially refreshing. Banh Mi Pork Belly ($11): This was a massive sandwich--I was full after just half. The pork belly was flavorful and well-marinated, though a bit on the salty side. While the sandwich was loaded with fresh veggies, it didn't quite come together as a cohesive bite. The pork belly was overpowering and threw off the balance. We actually thought the pork belly would've worked better as a rice dish than in a banh mi.
Delicious pho and banh mi served in an inviting bright room with reasonable acoustics at a good price. The staff are friendly and helpful. My shrimp and chicken were somewhat overcooked... but given the heat of the broth, this was inevitable. Consider this when you select your protein. This is a fine place to dine on your own. I was so hungry that I forgot to take photographs. There are four or five parking spots in front of the restaurant and a few behind, but don't even think of parking next-door at Kabobzi's. They tow.
Sip pho is my go to place for all my Vietnamese cravings. It is clean, consistent, delicious, and fast service. Whether I take my food to go or eat there, I have not had a negative experience nor an issue with my food. I've had the pho, the sandwiches, the appetizer - this will continue to be an easy place to grab a quick lunch, no fuss.
On a Tuesday night, I arrived about an hour or so before close and it was busy!!! Nearly every seat in the house was taken. In order to sit down, you must order at the counter and they'll tell you where you're sitting once you've order. It's near UT Austin (not sure if they're affiliated) but it seems mostly occupied by students and then some non-students. I ordered a Sip Pho bowl, Vietnamese iced coffee, and a to-go order of the beef banh mi. The pho was delicious. It was exactly what I needed. The broth was light but filling and the meats were perfect in size and texture. I added sriracha and hoisin sauce but the broth holds its own without it. Vietnamese iced coffee always hits the spot! Idk if the banh mi would've been better there but I did not like it at all. The bread was really good but I felt like everything else was bland or okay tasting. I believe it was supposed to be lemongrass beef but I could barely taste it. The pickled carrots were okay and it didn't seem like there was any sort of sauce or mayo. I don't know if I'd order banh mi from here again but I would absolutely come back for the pho and I would love to try the bun bo hue. read more
Sip Pho is a welcoming and accessible place for Vietnamese food and phở curious diners. Pretty exterior, bright and clean interior, order at the counter type of service, food is served quickly and I can see how this can be more profitable then a traditional restaurant. For me as a Vietnamese, their pho don't satisfy my need for a piping hot, thick and flavorful broth bowl. I got the raw steak and tendon beef bowl. It was just alright, has all the components of a southern style Pho. The size was huge but majority of the volume is from the broth, there was very little pho noodles and meat. The meat was tender but also bland. the broth doesnt have strong aromas or natural bone sweetness to it. The entire bowl was quite forgettable, and not cheap too at $15. Service was good but I probably wont come back if the taste doesnt get better. read more
You know what sounds great on a rainy day? A giant bowl of pho. Cue sip pho. We came during the weekend rush but the process flowed smoothly. You line up to order and pay and they'll assign you a table with a number to sit at and wait for your food. While it was packed, turnover was pretty quick. I love a good egg roll so had to start off with an order of that. It came with a sweet chili sauce so it's your standard tasting egg roll. The beef short rip pho was the star as it came with plenty of meat right on the bone. Unfortunately, it wasn't fall-off-the-bone tender and I had to use a knife (and a separate plate) to really get the meat off. The broth was light, the noodles were plenty, and it came with your standard pho garnishes. Not the most authentic flavor, but it still hit the spot. read more

I had the beef broth pho with brisket and rare steak, it was the best pho I've ever had! The broth cooked the steak and made it perfect. It came out in less than 10 minutes and it was very hot and fresh. You definitely get your moneys worth with how much meat and veggies they put in the bowl. Cold day in Austin prompted us to look for a warm bowl of broth and noodles. We found Sip Pho and thought we'd give it a try. I had the pho beef short ribs and BF had the bun bo hue. 5 for the beef broth and hot temperature of the soup. We also enjoyed the condiment bar where we chose some minced Serrano peppers for extra spice and it hit the spot! 4 for the excitement of the beef rib only to be met with a little disappointment as it tasted like a boiled rib, flavor was definitely in the broth and the beef was a tad dry (shown in pic). BF's bun bo hue had shrimp paste in the broth which was not expected (and he did not enjoy). Giving this dish 4 as they replaced it with beef broth. Overall, the convenience of being a good pho place located in central Austin earns another chance in our books. The broth is absolutely the winner here and will opt for one of the traditional pho bowls (over chef's choice) next visit. read more

Nice ambience and friendly staff but I found the food just okay. The pho broth was really oily and every time I took a sip my lips were coated in oil and I had to wipe it off. The flavor was decent but just didn't have me slurping every last drop. I also got the lemongrass beef baos which I expected to be a lot more juicy and flavorful. I didn't really taste any lemongrass tbh. I liked that they had a self serve station where you could get extra limes, cilantro, etc. because I like more lime in my pho. Ingredients were also fresh. Overall, I expected more at this price point. read more

Came here for lunch with my husband and toddler son. We both loved the food and the quantity for quality. I ordered the Pho wagyu and my husband had the Pho beef short ribs. My husband was very pleased with the portions and my son loved his pho as well. The gentleman at the register where you order was very kind and patient. He also came by to see if everything was to our liking. Friendly waiters that smile and are helpful. I love the aesthetic of the place. All white tables and chairs with wooden benches and outdoor seating that is covered overhead. read more

My favorite place to get pho! It can get very busy during cold / rainy days so try to get there before peak times! The pho is always delicious and flavorful - i am never disappointed! I come here often and also get the pork bao buns and the crab rangoons!! Always a hit / great appetizers! We have also sat outside with our lil chihuahua so it's nice they are dog friendly. ** Hip and clean pho option in Austin! Will have you covered no matter what Vietnamese food option you are looking for, all along with a very modern and clean looking interior. Sip pho was my first stop in Austin for a late lunch after a road trip from Dallas, and it definitely didn't disappoint! I liked how the menu offers a wide variety of options from appetizers, pho, vermicelli bowls, banh mi, coffee / boba, so whatever Vietnamese dish you are craving they'll have you covered! FOOD: I ordered the wagyu pho, and this absolutely hit the spot. It was a nice way to "dress up" the meal, and the meat was extremely tender and chewy. I liked how the meat came on the side, so that you can control how cooked you want it done and that you could ensure it was fresh tasting as you eat at your own pace. The wagyu pho had wide noodles which I absolutely loved the texture of and preferred over the traditional thin rice noodles. Meat aside, I would have ordered the wagyu pho just for the wide noodles alone, as if I recall my girlfriends bowl had thin noodles when she ordered a regular brisket pho. DRINK: I got the matcha green thai tea with boba, and the drink was extremely refreshing! Not too sweet, yet not bland and complimented my meal perfectly. AMBIANCE: Sparkling clean especially compared to a lot of other pho places I've been to. The bathrooms were very well maintained which was much needed after my long road trip. Some of the tables even had outlets which my girlfriend needed to use after using her phone for navigation all day. To top it off, extremely friendly servers! PARKING: Sip pho has a small parking lot with limited spots behind the restaurant. it's excellent every single time. food is amazing and the student discount is nice. cute vibes as well. it's very busy all the time so expect to wait. last time i went here it was 35 degrees outside and i still elected to sit on their unheard patio to eat because it is so delicious. read more
The Lord knows that I've had my share of Pho and trying to find an authentic pho restaurant is tough here in the Austin. There are some darn good places, but nobody has really hit all the check marks for me until now! My wife and I recently got pedicures at our local nail shop. The topic of food came up and we were recommended to Sip Pho as it's "most authentic"according to our local nail peeps. So here we are, driving to downtown Austin in our quest for the best Vietnamese food. After circling the block several times, we finally find a parking spot. Our first clue that this place was going to be great! It was crowded (of course it was lunchtime) but we didn't mind waiting. I ordered the Beef Rib pho and my wife ordered the Pork Bahn Mi Sandwich. She also likes Crab Rangoon so we got that as well. After waiting about 7 minutes, we received our food. OMGeeeeeeeeee! So delicious!!!! The Pho- broth was amazing! Perfectly seasoned and not over salty. Rib was tender and moist. The noodles were cooked to perfection. The Pork Bahn Mi- HUGE!!!! The largest sandwich that I have ever eaten at a Vietnamese restaurant! The meat was perfectly marinated and cooked. The veggies were fresh and had the perfect crunch when biting into it. The bread was amazing as well which is extremely important! And the jalapeños were spicy as they should be. Crab Rangoon- Came out temperature hot and had the best tasting mixture of cream cheese that we've tried. The sauce was mild and very delectable. Sweet and savory. We loaded up on the extra jalapeño, cilantro and onions they had at their refrigerated salad bar. An extra touch for the people who order extra sides for their pho. The employees were cool and they worked hard to clean the tables as soon as people were done to allow more people to sit. I will definitely be back when I'm close to the UT campus. As a matter of fact, I'll make special trips from Georgetown to satisfy my pho cravings often!! #thankyouthursday read more

Close by UT campus is a great spot for your Vietnamese food mix. The fiancé and I made it an hour before closing and there was still a long line to order! I got the shrimp and chicken vermicelli bowl and it was MASSIVE. Lots of veggies and fresh flavor. Noodles are cooked well too, the Bun Bo Hue was also very good! I loved their little outdoor area. It was perfect for a Sunday evening dinner. Highly recommend for what you can get in the Austin area and would definitely come back again! read more
The food here is not bad for a trendy college neighborhood Vietnamese restaurant and they have their own parking spaces! When I was in college at UT, there wasn't a decent pho place on campus. There were restaurants but nothing good. This is another counter service style establishment, order at the counter, pay and choose a table. Outdoor patio is really cute and instagrammable. Prices are high for pho and rice plates, but they're priced for being near campus. Love their rangoon and short ribs rice plate. Their bbh (beef noodle soup) is good when it's piping hot, last time I was disappointed it wasn't hot enough, but it's just my preference for soups to be piping steaming hot. Note, if you like the pork blood cubes in your bbh, it's not available here (Tan My has the pork blood if you're looking for it in your bbh). Unfortunately I have not tried their pho, so I cannot comment. Very nice staff! read more

my friend and i were craving viet food on a hot day, and i remembered this place had been on my list forever. i wish i tried sip pho before i graduated, it's conveniently close to campus and the interior is so pretty. the food is absolutely delicious. i ordered their pork belly rice plate and my friend ordered their shrimp banh mi. everything came out surprisingly fast, despite how busy it was. i love how my rice plate came with a side of pho. it made the whole meal 11/10. their banh mi is also notably huge. we also tried their two boba brûlée's (matcha thai + brown sugar) and loved both! the brown sugar one is definitely on the sweeter side, and the matcha thai has a perfectly sweet + balanced taste. they have a walk-up window for small orders like boba which is pretty neat i would definitely come back :) read more
Delicious pho! First time trying pho in Austin, pleasant surprise. The fresh noodles is really good. The meats are good, and they actually have flanks! The wagyu beef was good too, super soft, comes with alot of meat. The broth is tasty and fatty, i love it. Inly disappointment is for togo pho, they fo blanch the noodles so it's not very good when you take it home. But overall great portion! Not cheap on meat read more

Sip Pho is a GAME CHANGER. Despite having a variety of twists on the menu to the classic pho, I highly recommend ordering the Pho Wagyu! The Pho Wagyu sparks so much joy. It's brought to you in a hot stone pot with a side of perfectly marbled slices of wagyu for you to cook in the broth. Sip Pho is not like a traditional Vietnamese restaurant. You order & pay at the counter, and will be assigned to your table, where the food will be brought to you. Though the line DOES go out the door on colder days, the turnaround gos by pretty quick. read more
I read reviews saying this is some of the best pho in town. I am always looking for good food. But especially good pho. Its indeed is delicious!!!! Portions are large. Lots of condiments come with it. The pork belly absolutely my favorite!! Incredible flavor but the bun was so soft.... I just cant. Only one in the photo because I inhaled the first two one in two seconds. The tea .... It's something I am desperately craving now. Absolutely worth every penny. I didn't eat in but have heard its amazing and that staff is great. Looking forward to going to dine in soon read more
With the weather finally cooling off I was ready for my first pho of the season. And I am sad to say that this bowl was a bit of a letdown :( I used to come to Sip very often and I love their business model and support of the community. But this pho left me wanting more. It was lacking salt and flavor, which is fundamental to any good dish. Plus, the beef was not the best quality and quite chewy. The noodles were good but that was about it. I really hope the next time I come it will be better. read more

I would give it a 4 stars however after we ordered our food The register lady assign us a table number First we ordered 2 bun Bo hue 1 without veggies and herbs and onions 1 with everything normal Of course when it came out Both has everything and all herbs She even brought out a plate of raw beef to dip in sauce however we did not order it So then after all that, she brings it back inside Then brings it right back and hands it to us a bowl that was "normal" Then goes in and switch my bowl without veggies Comes out and my husband had put a spoon in the bowl (thank god he hasn't tried the broth or touch it) She then comes out Quickly takes all the stuff off our tables and brings it over to the table next to us Finally Everything is sorted and the food was good! I wish they just try to get the orders to the right table in the first place read more

My friend and I came and had ordered food to go with two viet coffees; However, when we got home, we noticed that they had forgotten to include the two coffee. We went back about a week later to grab some lunch. The owner, Tien, was there. When we mentioned what happened before, she apologized and quickly made our meal on the house. She was really kind and gave us extra attention. The food was just amazing! read more

Went here on a Friday night at 7 and it was busy as usual. Parking is limited in front, but there's more parking in the back and street parking close by! You order at the counter and then they tell you what table to sit at so they can bring your food out. They do have outdoor seating in the back that's shaded, but still hot during the day. I love this place for pho or their rice plates if I'm downtown! The pork belly rice plate is my go to and the portion is a good size! I also always order their crème brûlée boba with matcha Thai tea. I love the salted cheese top. The boba itself is a hit or miss but still worth it! Check it out if you're downtown! read more
I totally can see why this place is on top of everyone's list for Pho. It tastes great, huge portion, friendly staff, good vibe and great location. Although they are not #1 Pho for my preference but I want to be fair and say they make great food with reasonable price for central location. I would totally recommend my friends here too, if they'd like some nice and elegant ambiance. My husband got Bun Bo Hue and it was great too, it's not a regular BBH but more like a fancy one with a big beef bone (you won't regret). Great place for Pho, thanks for elevating a place for this special dish. read more
