Friday I had 3 movers come move just the heavy furniture. Everything was going smoothly up until the movers went on their lunch break (over an hour) when they told me it's only going to be 30 mins. When moving my furniture into my new place I made sure that no damages were made. My new bed ( a month old maybe) is ruined. I pointed it out to two of the movers, stated they took pictures...they never did...and someone would be in contact. I too matters into my own hands and called Kai the customer service gal and told her what happened. The run around. Then payment comes, 5 hours...when they took an hour and 20 min lunch break and the distance between old and new house is 12 mins. Movers leave, I'm setting up tvs etc for myself and my kids, realizing my power cord from my tv is missing. Called the next day and told me they don't know when they can get it back to me. They should be dropping it off on the way home or to work or mail it. Been calling, texting, emailing and have been completely ghosted by this company. Called corporate today to get an answer from someone , a refund, and my power cord back. I am a single mom of 3 who needed to do an emergency move due to black mold in the home so this was supposed to be a stress free process which has turned into a big headache. I would not recommend these guys.

Called Costco, they called the delivery company and were told that it wasn't delivered due to weather... it was in the 70's, clear and sunny. Rescheduled for delivery to the 18th from 10:45-12:45... again no show this time they told Costco due to the safe being damaged. Rescheduled again for the 24th, safe finally shows up but the safe was damaged in transit. They rushed it into my home and ended up damaging my wood floors. When I spoke to the delivery guy he told me it wasn't his problem, "we don't fix floors. You have to deal with Costco" I would never recommend this company for any moving service and I strongly recommend Costco stop using them due to their lack of professionalism, care for your item and your home.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS I hired them expecting professional…read moreservice, but what I got was a complete breakdown in logistics and a total lack of respect for my property. Save yourself the headache and go with a different company... that is unless you love broken furniture and terrible/non-existent customer service! The company showed up understaffed with fewer workers than we'd contractually agreed to. They didn't send the number of workers promised, which made the entire process slow, disorganized, and ultimately dangerous for my belongings. From the moment they showed up we contacted the company to address the concerns, but given we had everything scheduled logistically to be gone from our house that day, we had no option but to move forward with the smaller worker crew that showed up. Long story short, we wasted twice as long as it should have taken to get everything done due to the lack of movers. And in the process, they managed to completely break some brand new furniture in the process. It was broken so badly that they just threw it away. BUT THE WORST PART IS THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE: The "screw-ups" during the move were bad enough, but the aftermath has been even worse. Trying to resolve the damage and the contract breach has been a nightmare. Their customer service is dismissive and completely unwilling to take accountability for their failures. Even today, they were supposed to connect me with their claims manager (after about 5 phone calls and 5 emails), yet failed to do so as they said they would. It's clear they care more about booking jobs than actually fulfilling their contractual obligations or protecting your home. I've had to spend my own time drafting emails and fighting just to get a response regarding the property they destroyed. Do not believe the hype. They are understaffed, they break your furniture, and they will leave you hanging when it comes time to make it right. STAY AWAY.

My background - 6x military/full service, long distance, cross continental and international moves in the past 7 years. 1 bedroom apartment w/o garage. No major appliances. Bed/desk/chair/couch for major furniture only. Having seen how fast movers typically work when they're being paid by mileage and poundage, vice getting paid per hour, this was absolutely ridiculous how slow this team was. Normally I'm unable to help movers because they're moving so quickly - packing, moving, staging gear, etc., but with this team, I was clearly the third mover helping the process out. There was zero sense of urgency until I formally called them out on taking their sweet time. Their packing work was extraordinarily shoddy - literally boxes half full and others looking like they "poured" my bookshelves into boxes with books with bent pages and cracked open, with taping jobs that I have never seen in any of my moves (who tapes "x"s on the boxes instead of sealing the edges?). To describe the entire process - sloppy. Considering how expensive this process was and how little was done (they were unable to move my 1 bedroom apartment ten minutes away in 5.5 hours, from an apartment w/ an elevator to a single story house with street access), I did not get value for my money. I ended up moving the remaining 20% of my stuff w/ my friend, fuming about how much money was spent and wasted with La Jolla Moving Company. *UPDATE* (2.5 months): I finally closed the loop w/ the staff and customer service side of the house w/ La Jolla Movers. Initially they seemed very concerned and wanted to do right by me, calling me and being proactive to find out what happened and to rectify the situation. I fully understand and accept that they cannot control every single one of their movers and drivers (reasonable), so I was very clear that my issues were w/ my particular movers, and that they probably do have plenty of good movers in their staff. Ultimately it was determined to refund me some of the time that was lost in the move, which I thought was fair. If this was done expeditiously, I would have easily changed my review to 3+ stars, because a leadership team's follow-up is everything, and the effort to make things right and do the right thing by the customer (not just catering to a customer's whiny needs) - should be recognized. Honesty and integrity are important in a moving company. It ended up taking months to finally close this loop, which ended up being very frustrating with me constantly hunting down CSRs and leadership. Yes, I believe the final financial settlement was fair, but the multiple delays and lack of communication made things incredibly difficult. I tried to give them plenty of opportunities to prove the experience to be an anomaly, but ended up still somewhat frustrated w/ my experience. Tia was my first point of contact and she was fantastic -- patient, understanding, and confident they could handle what others couldn't. Pricing was reasonable and transparent, and she worked with me to make it fair. Suhrob and David showed up early and immediately got to work. They were organized, careful, and clearly knew what they were doing. The desk was heavy and complex, but they disassembled it correctly and moved it safely. What impressed me most was that they took the time to explain how it comes apart for future moves. That's next-level professionalism. They also helped with a few extra heavy items without hesitation. This is how moving should be done. I'll be using them again this summer.

The lead guy was on his phone way too much while he was getting paid hourly by me, they said they were gonna send somebody over to do repairs on my leather couch. They never sent anybody over broke dishes never got compensated. I'm finding more broken things as I open things up as I said stay away from this place. And the reason why there's so many mixed reviews is because it's farmed out to different movers
