They didn't bring any paper to wrap the dishes, so they use plastic, which took them an extra hour and a half. I timed it of extra money out of my pocket. The lead guy was on his phone way too much while he was getting paid hourly by me, they said they were gonna send somebody over to do repairs on my leather couch. They never sent anybody over broke dishes never got compensated. I'm finding more broken things as I open things up as I said stay away from this place. I used these people 2 times. The first time they were good. The second time. They stole many items from me. So many items. The owner does not return calls. They claim they did not take anything. However they were the only people near my storage unit from the day it was opened to the day it was unloaded. Which was 2 years later. They stole my mothers computer. Many many fishing rods and deep sea rods a very expensive collection of twilight zone movies. Never opened. The full collection!!! They took baseball cards. These were not worth much. That includes all my jewelry six of my swords both my tool chests filled with tools my family heirloom champagne glasses with our family crest engraved into them. Computer peripherals like my keyboard and speakers. I talked to the manager Frank Adler and he told me there's nothing he can do and nothing he is willing to do try to get my stuff back. They also broke two of my desks four of my picture frames and a few other things but I am more worried about the priceless jewelry from my great grandma and my grandma that can never be replaced and the champagne glasses that have bad pass down for four generations. All 3 representatives dropped the ball. Mr. Manager a contract is vital when doing business. I requested 3 times for your staff to include on "work order."Drivers were prepared to dissemble 1 dining room table. 3 apparel boxes ($15.00) addtl charge beyond 3 hour minimum charge. 2 lamp fixtures. 2 flat screen tv's. Yet, never received. Your movers were schedule from 1:00 - 4:00 yet showed up at est 4:15. I had to jump in to make sure we didn't go past 3hrs. Yes, your customer told your movers it was okay just leave them as is (couches). Mr. Manager this customer gave you business $400.00 to be exact. I apologized to your drivers. Why? Your office made this whole experience on a scale 1 -10 a 1. Mr. Manager do the right thing here and take from your profit and tip each of your movers $20.00. They did a great job! for JFK moving. **PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU BOOK** I wrote this review a few days after JFK Moving moved my items. I originally gave them two stars. They called me not long after this review was posted and offered me $100 to take it down! They are (badly) bribing customers to take bad reviews down or change them into positive reviews so new customers never find out what a crummy job they do. Protect yourself and your stuff. Hire someone else! We honestly did not have a good experience with this moving company. They tracked a bunch of mulch, leaves, and dirt into the apartment we were moving out of. They used pieces of mulch to wedge our front door open and then left the mulch in the house. They took the trash bag out of my trash can and left it on the floor of the living room along with a bunch of their trash like loose pieces of plastic wrap, bits of cardboard, and the empty rolls from the plastic wrap. I left the apartment about 20 minutes after they left and beat them to the new house by almost two hours. It took them almost three hours to get there. We only moved 1hr 15min away. When they were unpacking, one of the movers had stacked several boxes that had been marked "fragile" on his dolly. When going down a step in our house, the top two boxes fell hard on our tile floor from the dolly. When we opened the first box, we saw that two of our mugs had shattered, one that was a special gift from a friend, and one that my mom, who passed away recently, had painted for me when I was a child. When we opened the second fragile box, we saw that a teacup and plate set also from my mom had also cracked and broken. When we brought up the shattered mugs and plate set to the movers, one of them walked up mid conversation and began telling us that it was actually our fault and that the moving company isn't responsible if things break because of our packing. We explained that the boxes had been packed well and wouldn't have shattered if they hadn't been dropped. We also pointed out that the boxes very clearly had fragile written on them. This one mover continued to argue with us for a while before he finally walked away. The mover who seemed to be in charge offered us a small discount for it, but the mover who broke the mugs never apologized and basically disappeared the rest of the time they were there. Later, we discovered they completely filled our compost and yard waste bin with their moving trash which was mostly a ton of plastic wrap, their lunch trash, and a bit of cardboard. We ended up having to move all of their trash to our trash can instead because it can't be in the yard waste bin. We just moved in and we couldn't put anything else in our trash can for almost a full week because it was full of their trash. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! BUYER BEWARE. THIS COMPANY STEALS AND DAMAGES YOUR BELONGINGS!!! I wish I could give zero stars!! This company has been absolutely horrible to work with!! Inappropriate and unprofessional is an understatement. The movers that they sent were completely incompetent on how to pack furniture for cross country moving. My parents, who are the ones moving, had to instruct the two movers that were sent many times on how to properly pack furniture with protective blankets and put them in the truck properly. One of the movers got attitude with my parents about this, and had to be put in his place after standing on my mother's dresser rather than using a step stool. They damaged a very nice armoir; there is now a huge scratch on the bottom of it. These people are reckless and do not take any care with your belongings. This company only accepts payment in cash or credit card, and they offer a discount if you pay in cash. I think this is done intentionally so that when you have an issue with them, you have limited resources to have your money returned. My parents made the mistake of paying with cash. The one mover with attitude begged my parents to tip him even though he clearly did not deserve it, and sadly, they caved and did tip him. If you even dare to use this company, please protect yourself by paying with a credit card so you can at least put a stop payment on it when you realize they stole your belongings. During the move, the movers were using two dollies; one which was theirs, and one that was ours that we had rented from Old Dominion trucking company. After the movers left, my parents realized that the dollie from Old Dominion was missing. They called the company and let them know it was missing and had likely been mistakenly taken by the movers. The company said they would ask their associates and get back to us. The following day, my parents call again and are told once again that they will ask their associates. We didn't hear anything for a while, and then I decided to get involved, and I called the company and spoke with Adam. I told Adam that they needed to call their associates now, and figure out where this dollie is as we need to return it to the trucking company and that I expect a phone call back within 15 minutes. Update: We received a phone call back within 15 minutes, but it's from a man named Frank. Frank claims that he spoke with the associates and that they claim the dollie was packed into the middle of the truck with my parents' belongings. I ask Frank, "Why in the world would they pack the dollie into the middle of the truck? That makes absolutely no sense." He states, "maybe the movers were told to do that." I say, "Why would we tell the movers to put a dollie in the middle of the moving truck when we still need it for moving other things and when we have to return it to Old Dominion." Frank didn't have an answer, but just kept repeating the same asinine comment, and then finally told us that we would need to file a claim. When we asked when the movers would be coming to move the things back out of the truck to retrieve the dollie, my parents were told they would have to pay for another 3 hours of moving to fix the problem that they created. Please, please, save your time, money, and stress and just hire a different company. It's not worth it having to deal with this when you're already dealing with the stress of moving in the first place. Update: My dad was able to borrow a friend's fork lift to pull some of their belongings out of the truck and to look in the middle of the truck where this company states the dollie was, and it was not there. It is also not in the other container as the company is now trying to imply in their comment. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! We could have done a better job just moving ourselves and saving the money. THESE PEOPLE LIE, STEAL, AND ARE NOT EVEN COMPETENT ENOUGH TO PACK YOUR BELONGINGS CORRECTLY!!! We have told Old Dominion the situation, and hoping that they will work with us because clearly this company does not give a shit once they take your cash and run. On 8/10/24, JFK Movers moved me into my new home, which had brand new floors. They damaged a valuable piece of vintage furniture, as well as my floors. Before the move began, I specifically asked about full-value coverage due to the value of some of my belongings. In violation of the guidelines set forth by the Surface Transportation Board, I was told they DID NOT OFFER full-value coverage by the foreman, Miguel. The furniture: JFK offered to take my vintage teak buffet and restore the damage. What they returned was a completely different color (this is part of a matching set), and improperly finished. The espresso finish remained tacky because the wood had not been prepared properly, and it had not been sealed. It came off at the slightest touch. They picked it back up to strip it and restore it to its original finish, but have had the piece over a month. I'm not sure what "professional" furniture shop they are using, but it looked to have been applied by a complete amateur. After having my buffet for another month (today is 10/27), they refuse to give me a return date. They have invited me to take legal action or accept the .60/lb payout, which I would have been happy to do, had I known how poorly they would treat this valuable piece. I simply would like it returned in its original condition in a timely fashion. The floors: After a representative acknowledging the scratches and attempted to use some wipes to remove them from the floors, he said they would treat the entire floors to resolve the issue. They now claim the scratches were pre-existing and that they are not visible. I am including photos for reference. They clearly gouged the floor while moving the buffet. I would like compensation in order to repair the floors. This has been an unnecessarily drawn-out and difficult experience, with a complete lack of customer support/service. I never really write reviews, but here's my second--because this experience was just that disappointing. I only had a small bedroom's worth of items, and the move was just 8 miles away with zero traffic, yet it somehow took over 3 hours. The movers worked extremely slowly--it felt like they were deliberately dragging things out to stretch the time. They even started the clock before the second mover arrived, which didn't feel fair. One of the movers touched me around my waist without permission, which made me really uncomfortable--especially since I was alone with him at the time. The second mover barely spoke English, so I couldn't effectively communicate or raise any concerns during the move. The biggest item I had was a queen bed--I don't even own a couch or anything particularly bulky--so the amount of time they took just didn't add up. One of them also seemed very inexperienced. I tipped them well out of courtesy, but looking back, I regret it. They broke a few hangers, stained the door and door frame (which I can live with), but more frustratingly, they broke both of my bedside tables. Maybe I just got unlucky, but overall, I felt disappointed, uncomfortable, and taken advantage of. I'll never use their service again. read more

If I could give a zero I would. I used JFK moving for a move that was less than 2 miles away. Below is my honest review and concerns that I took up with the company. This was the most unprofessional, uncomfortable, and disrespectful services I have ever received. The movers seemed to be doing a great job in the beginning. They carefully wrapped up all of my furniture and items and packed them up. When we arrived to our new house to unload, the situation changed. This is a brand new house (new construction) with new flooring and carpets. The following are my concerns with their service: ⁃ left water on the floor from the entrance to the kitchen after moving the refrigerator ⁃Asked me where to put things and still placed things in the incorrect areas where I had to move them again myself. Everything was also explicitly labeled. ⁃My clothes on hangars were nicely packed and hung in wardrobe boxes by the movers were then just thrown all over the floor with many of the hangars being broken. ⁃I was told by the head mover that they were going to use blankets to protect the new carpet on the stairs and upstairs from their boots/shoes. Although they covered the stairs with blankets the movers walked all over the brand new carpets in the upstairs loft and bedrooms with dirty shoes/boots and dolly. ⁃Front Door frame was banged up, scraped, and dented - weather seal was ripped. - minor Wall scrape on the stairway wall ⁃Asked to use my tools for simple tasks like removing and putting back table legs In addition to these concerns my major concern was just the behavior of the movers. I specifically hired 4 movers to make this a speedy and efficient move. But instead of a hardworking team, the men were constantly arguing, yelling, and cussing at each other. This slowed them down a lot , and I was left to pay for the time. Their behavior was so inappropriate that I asked my wife with our daughter, who was supposed to meet us, not to come because it was such an uncomfortable and vulgar situation. The The movers spent most of their time arguing and cussing at each other. They were calling each other "idiots", yelling about how they do not need to listen to "the fucking foreman" (head mover), and much more. . L The head mover asked me to bring this to the attention of a manager and claims. When I did I was met with more disrespect and unprofessionalism. After 2 weeks of reaching out to the company I finally received a response and was only offered repairs. Which I initially denied and later accepted. The company failed to send someone out and then only sent me $100. I was left to repair the damages on my own. Above all else the company attempted to blame me for their poor service. They claimed I was the one cussing and rushing the workers. I was accused of exhibiting a "reluctance to cooperate and provide necessary support during the moving process". As the movers were working I offered them water bottles, showed them where each restroom was for their use, attempted to direct them where to put things, guided them to each location and allowed them to use my tools. The only time we discussed pricing was at the end of the move the pricing when I was being asked to pay more because they took longer because of their arguments and lack of communication. The foreman/head mover, specifically expressed to me that many of the issues are caused because of the lack of communication with his team because in his own words, "they are idiots and none of them speak the same language". This was one of the best moving experiences I've ever had. From the initial phone call with the company to completion, everyone was spectacular. Oscar was quick to explain that tipping isn't required, and he came across as that old school type where he didn't just want to be given money, but he wanted to earn it. He and his team most certainly earned it. We moved five years of just stuff in under 6 hours!!! Our valuables were moved quickly but safely. It was truly as if they cared about our belongings as much as we did. I was even told more than once not to help because that was their jobs. What impressed me the most was the ability of the men to respect each other and work together respectfully. They bill by the hour, so you wonder if they'd slack off a bit or work slow on purpose. Second time using this company...first time was great, second time was the WORST experience! The day started out good, the guys were nice. At the end of the almost 12 hour day, which the lead guy (Oscar) said it would be, he refused to do a third run for the last few items we had since he said he didn't know it was so much stuff and he said he would have packed the truck better on the second run had he known. I asked why they didn't pack it better so they could get everything g in two runs and he just said it's too much stuff and we don't have enough guys, if he would have known he would have called for another guy...but we walked the entire property and I showed him everything. The other guys (Louise, Miguel, Francisco) were very nice and willing to do the third run but because the lead guy had to work the next day he would not do it. Not only that but they just jammed everything into the garage and put stuff wherever at our new place...paid no mine to where it was supposed to go...we have a newborn and a toddler hence why we got movers to help make it easier. It was not easier and we are still trying to go through the garage and figure out where our things are almost a month later because if you have ever had a newborn you know moving with one is HARD. Then after all that my husband called and asked for the company to have someone come out to help us with the giant mess they left our house in and the girl who answered laughed at him. Then he asked for a manager or the owner to call and she said she would have someone call and they never did. To boot....my AirPods are missing, I don't know if they were taken or are lost in the abyss called our garage but they are gone. Some friend of ours also used the company and the guys broke furniture and apparently they had some things missing as well. Such a 180 in service from the first time we used this company. If we ever move again we won't be calling them. For $2000 I should have been able to move in and everything be where it should have been, what a rip off! Update: after moving some furniture in our house I found giant scratches in my brand new floor! 11 hours to move a 1900 sqft house when we had boxes organized. Broke our table and never paid for it. Our stuff sat outside in the sun for 5 hours while loading and the guys had no idea what they were doing. The manager I spoke to about this was the worst of all he only cared about getting his money. You can imagine what 11 hours cost for four guys and only 1 was working and competent. They brought in boxes labeled garage 3 times if you get what I'm saying. BECK and SUHROB were amazing! The my were professional, arrived between the expected time frame, they were very respectful and communicative. They worked quickly and together with the help of my sons and his friends who wanted to assist. The price was also good as well! Compared to what others were trying to charge. The ease of booking an appointment, having my questions answered and clarified. A lamp of mines got broken during the move (something happened to the cord) not too sure how it happened between the boys or the movers but I brought it to the attention of the receptionist and she offered to fix it if I could find the plug piece. Just want to let everyone to be aware if you used this moving company to think twice they damage my new 85 inch tv while moving to my new home when I unwrapped the TV and mounted to the wall and turn it on the screen bleed so I know they added something heavy on top or they over exaggerated on putting to much shrink wrapp and damaging the screen now they don't want to take full responsibility of there mistake saying it wasn't them I'm very disappointed I would never recommend this company to anyone. I'd give this company 10 stars if I could. They dealt with our incredibly tall old house with two flights of stairs to get to the front door, and a very twisty mountain road to get up to it. They wrapped our son's dresser and other furniture in blankets at no extra charge, and took extra care to make sure everything arrived safely. They even worked very late into the evening to make sure we had our furniture when the job took longer than expected, and our toddler was *so* happy to have his bed back and have a sense of normalcy in the new house. I would absolutely use JFK movers again and highly recommend them. read more
