The movers did an excellent job cleaning out my storage unit. They efficiently delivered the items to my home and helped with stowing things and moving furniture around according to my instructions. The only down sides were a slight communication difficulty and an apparently unavoidable mechanical or logistical difficulty which prevented them from arriving on time. (3 hrs late, they were apologetic) Be aware that they have a 3 hour minimum and the charged price was $30 above the one displayed on their web site. The also add an additional $10 per hour if you use a credit card (? budget-wise for them--not for you) and require a picture of your credit card and drivers license. That surprised me! read more

1 star given for being super late on this stressful day for our family and lack of communication. Kane was super helpful with answering the questions, and accomondating with schedule changes etc but everything went downhill on the day of the move. They had a huge window of arrival 1:30-4pm and they were super late : arrived at 7:10pm. There was no updates telling me that they were going to be running late. I had to call the manager numerous times. I planned to drive up 6 hours away after the move but we didn't finish loading until 10 pm, so I had to spend the night at a hotel. We just used Careful Budget Moving and it was a great experience! They came recommended from a friend. When I text Kane he told me that they don't serve Orange County anymore but still made it possible for us. The booking process was so easy. We were kind of annoying customers. I felt bad because we originally booked two stops but the day before had to add another stop. They were accommodating and made the change right away. Day of : the movers came right on time and texted an hour before they would arrive which I really appreciated. They were careful with our stuff and we managed to move everything to all 3 stops in exactly 3 hours. Aside from a ridiculously heavy dresser (there is an extra fee), our stuff was already packed. They do seem to offer packing services though; there were some loose items that weren't ours that they were starting to pack up in boxes so that's a plus! I would highly recommend this company. They came in at half the price other movers quoted us. Communication with them was flawless and quick. Side note : please be nice to your movers! Andy sent me two very quick and efficient guys. I was dragging my feet because I was concerned that they'd take their time, but boy was I so wrong about this moving company. They arrived promptly at the appointment time and literally running in and out of my house to move the furnitures. I already prepacked all boxes so that actually saved a ton of time. we moved from a 2 bed room house (but only 20 miles to the destination) with quite a bit of furnitures, all was done in less than 4 hours. The owner (Kane T) is very quick to respond to messages. I requested quotes from every single mover in the LA area that was on Yelp. Kane was one of the first people to respond, was able to quickly provide me with a competitive quote, and schedule me for a move. The price for a studio move was $104/hour for 2 movers. This hourly rate was slightly below most of the other quotes I received from other moving companies that had a high amount of Yelp reviews. Note that moving companies with a substantial amount of reviews tend to be above $100/hour whereas companies with a low amount of reviews tend to be below $100/hour. On move-in day, movers, Zane and Eric, were excellent and very helpful. They were on time and were able to move me out in about 2.5 hours. I would recommend them. read more

Update: After talking with Kane, I realize the initial scheduling with 2 movers was made in error and resulted in the prolonged process. He shared that he really cares about customer satisfaction & offered ways to remediate our my experience. Based on his responsiveness, I would consider them for future moves and understand why they have soo many satisfied customers. The scheduling and initial truck packing and using wardrobe boxes went well. I got all my questions answered and Andy was very responsive. However, as the packing and moving process continued, it appeared that the assigned movers were not moving efficiently. Though we had boxes packed and items ready to be packed on the truck it took 5 hours for them to pack 2bedroom. Once we arrived at our new home, the unloading process was just as slow, which eventually appeared deliberate since we were paying them an hourly rate. They asked if we wanted our beds reassembled and we said no because we didn't want to add more time. They continued to then put the bed together adding to the time. Once they calculated the final cost they also added an overtime fee which was not in the contract/agreements. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! We had a 2 bedroom + loft, but since my mom moved in with us and not to mention that we have one 5-year-old baby, we have the stuff of 4 bedrooms (RIDICULOUSLY A LOT OF STUFF). I've had quotes from 3 different companies and they all quoted us somewhat similarly, but I've first decided to go with another company because Careful Moving wasn't available at the time, but it was a HUGE mistake. With the other company, since they only had one 16ft truck, I told them it wouldn't work because we seriously have a lot of stuff and that I don't want to waste my time moving back and forth 5-6 times. The other company said that they will waive the traveling time, so I was a little reluctant but said okay because they had REALLY GOOD REVIEWS. However, we felt like it can't be done in one day, so we called them and asked if they could come a day earlier for about 3 hours just to move some of the boxes to my new place and that I understand if they can't because it was such short notice. The next day, they called saying that they can come in the morning but that SAME DAY at around 8PM they canceled on me. So, my husband called Careful Movers, and they were our lifesavers! Since we were only moving boxes we requested 2 movers, but they came with a HUGE truck and worked diligently for 3 full hours. So fast, so detailed, and with such care. We loved it so much that we were thinking of canceling the other company that we originally hired for our original move-in date, but ended up just keeping them. Well, the other company came 45 mins late, and with a SMALL truck that would only work out for a studio, and told me that they can't finish this by today. LONG STORY SHORT, the OTHER COMPANY canceled on me at a last-minute once, came late on the move-in date, and demanded that I pay them when HIS movers clearly told me that they can't do it. Anyway, after it got "resolved," we hurriedly called Kane at Careful Moving and was able to lock them for yesterday morning! BEST CHOICE EVER!!!!! we hired 4 movers, and they were so careful with all my stuff, no complaints even though we had a lot of stuff, and they were heavy too :((( They were so good at dissembling my furniture and reassembling them, and all my stuff came safely! I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND them! Not to mention that Kane was also very attentive and tried his best with communicating via phone. I've hired movers a few times in the last 5 years and each time they worked really fast and hustled even though they were paid by the hour. However, the movers we hired at Careful Budget Moving worked excruciatingly slowly and they left dirty marks in our new house. 1) It took them over 3 hours just to move furniture out of my 1 bedroom apartment. We had a small kitchen island, dining set, couch, tv, queen size bed, dresser, and a few other small pieces. After they arrived at our new place, my boyfriend and I helped them move everything into the house so they wouldn't take another 3 hours. Moving furniture for a 1 bedroom apartment should not take 6 hours for professional movers. 2. We just had the carpets cleaned in the new house but the movers got them dirty. They didn't wear booties and they used a dolly for some of the heavy furniture. The wheels of the dolly left marks on our newly cleaned carpet and we couldn't get them out afterwards. Also there was one big scratch around a corner that was made when the dresser was moved up the staircase. read more

I've moved several times in Los Angeles over the past two decades. The Careful Budget Moving is the best moving company I have ever hired. Two young men arrived exactly at the appointment time on the day of the move. Mr. Kane T arrived soon after. He is their head, returning to LA from out of town one day before we move. I think Mr. Kane T is an honest young man. As soon as Kane arrived, he worked with his subordinates, ran in and out of our house, moved furniture downstairs, and took the empty dolly upstairs. They wrapped everything carefully, They work really hard and are very professional. At the end of the upload, as an add-on, they even helped us load up a large faux Christmas tree that wasn't included in our early moving plans. A desk lamp was accidentally broken while being carried by a worker in my sight. I immediately said "doesn't matter" to encourage the young man to continue his work. Meanwhile, this desk lamp isn't expensive, to be honest. We ended up tipping each worker evenly because they are all honest and hard working young men. So far we haven't found anything lost. I had to scramble to find movers when I had to move sooner than expected, and Careful Budget was incredibly accommodating and communicative throughout the process. I appreciate all the prompt replies! The entire process was smooth from start to finish, and in a panic I realized I wasn't done packing, but they assured me it happened all the time and took care of my delicate plants that were not packed at all. They worked as quickly as possible from my unit that had 50 stairs and no elevator, and I honestly shudder thinking how I would have ever managed that without their help. It took awhile, at which point I questioned why I have so much stuff. But once it was all packed up, they arrived at my new apartment, with an impossibly narrow driveway on an absurdly steep hill. They are clearly buying users/reviews. It's always weird where it's either 1 or 5 stars. These guys milk clocks disappear for long breaks and have the audacity to charge overtime for these tactics. You can tell the way Kane handles the customer service issues, they have a decent system in place to make your move cost you more. This is not their first rodeo. Beware, go elsewhere. Edited to Add: We had the movers clocked for 2 hour break based on camera/phone calls of them leaving our house. We messaged Kane regarding them disappearing and making our move much longer. He assured us that we would not be charged for this. When the bill came he had the math just so to try to get 1.5x the hourly rate then proceeded to argue that the movers did not take a two hour break. We stated we had proof of break timing so he adjusted the move for 15 minutes of overtime. We cut our losses and paid the bill cash.
