Scheduling was a snap. Good price for a standard move. Axl and his crew were great! They got to our house later than I hoped for, but within their arrival window. They communicated their status throughout the process. They worked quickly (as possible for a 6th Floor, through elevators down to street could be!). They drove to my new location quickly also considering that they have a 24 foot long truck. It was a little later at night when they were unpacking and we all had a long day I am sure, so we had them move the furniture to the rooms and leave the boxes in the garage. I would not recommend this company. Things got broken, I paid extra for my safe to be moved and they dropped it on the floor in my garage damaging the safe. This is only after walking it up and down my street trying to find a driveway they thought they could get it down to load it on the truck. To move a safe they had a basic dolly and the thinnest strap I've ever seen. They did not seem to speak enough english to understand what I was saying and packed up things I didn't want packed and had no room for things I really needed. They packed already built cardboard boxes that were EMPTY taking up more space in the truck. Upon returning from a visit to the truck they smelt of marijuana on more than one occasion. I have a very damaged dresser, dining room table and a safe. My table was in the truck on it's side, I saw a guy climb on top of it and heard it crack, now I have an unstable wobbly table. They broke a little table stacking a heavy box on it. They will not break furniture down. I have simple garage shelving they refused to break down and moving it without taking it apart took up a lot of extra space in the truck. Literally the shelving clicks together, I asked them if I could break it down myself and they would not let me. There was a garage shelf with one anchor screw only on top of the fridge and they had a long conversation about how to remove it. One of the movers called the company cheap on more than one occasion. My house is under 900 square ft plus a small garage and we had already moved a lot of items with our trailer and they could only fit maybe half our things in the truck. They disappeared on the way, took them two extra hoirse to arrive counting stopping the clock for their 30 minute break. I was not in carpool lane and drove an everage of 60mph on the way. Should only have taken them an extra maybe 30 minutes MAX. I had to beg them to wear masks and one guy still would not wear one. When I contacted the company with these issues they said are you sure you contacted us? Seriously dude? So I sent him an email invoice from his company and have heard nothing back. And I paid them cash because they charge more for a card payment. I should not have paid these guys but I was so stressed out and just wanted it to be over. read more

I hired this company based on the Yelp reviews and they were great! My two bedroom apartment turned out to be a much larger job than they had initially planned, but they completed without a problem. It was a really long day but the movers were troopers, and everything got to my new home in one piece! I was a little worried about my mirrored side tables because I've heard stories of movers ruining them and breaking a pane, but they were very careful with everything! Overall, I was okay with my service. I had to change my date and the company was very accommodating and responsive. The movers called when they were on their way and arrived within the specified window. The move took a little over 8 hours which I thought was excessive (I was moving from a 1 bedroom upstairs apartment to a 1 bedroom ground floor apartment less than a mile from each other). Neither of the movers were wearing masks and smoked around my belongings which I really did not appreciate. Additionally, my bed frame and box spring were not put back together properly so I had to do that. Even so, the movers were pleasant and the company was easy to work with. They showed up on time. The move took about 10 hours. We were charged time and a half after 8 hours, which seems like it should have been on the company. The broke my chest of drawers. Apparently, their insurance pays 60 cents per pound. If I was told that going in and given the option of paying more for full coverage I would have opted for it. Instead a family heirloom was valued at 50 bucks. And after giving the guys a nice tip we got hit with a heavy items charge. Careful budget? It cost us 3 time what we thought it would. As far as I can tell i'm not given the option to response below Kane's response to me. So this second paragraph is in response to him. I wouldn't have posted any review but Yelp keeps bugging me with emails to review so I did. I wasn't happy with the move. It cost me 3 times what I thought it would. The company didn't pay their employees overtime, I did. The stairs, that was described to them in my initial request for a proposal. Heavy items. Not sure which those were, sure, some of them were. But what's the weight limit? They didn't tell me going in. Nor did they tell me that the cost was per item. The 3 guys was at my request. Kane wanted me to have only 2 guys. It probably would have taken them twice as long and I would have had to pay double time. And their insurance is a joke. 60 cents per pound? So if you have a vase that weighs two pounds and they break it, even if the vase cost you a couple hundred dollars, ll they give you is a dollar twenty. I'm guessing the chest they broke never got reported to their insurance. The dining table they put back together lost half its screws and I had to fix it. So no, I'm jot going to pull the broken chest of drawers away from the wall so that I can post a picture if it for you. However, if you'd like to give me the name of your insurance company I'll raise my stars. read more

Kane and Azad (I'm pretty sure I spelled that wrong, I'm sorry!) were the best things that happened to us in regard to our move. My boyfriend and I relocated from Sherman Oaks to San Jose last week and originally we planned to use a POD until we found out it would take 8 days for our belongings to get there...from the day they pick up the POD (wuh?). As much as I would have loved to stay in my own apartment like it was a hotel, I went on the hunt for a moving company that could get our belongings up North sooner. After talking to 9 different moving companies, Careful Budget Moving assured us they could show up, load our apartment, drive it 6 hours, and unload it all in the same day. AND THEY DID. Not only did they get everything there the same day they were, by far, the most fairly priced out of all of the moving companies I talked to. I scheduled everything over the phone, confirmed the week before, re-confirmed the day before (I'm crazy), then there they were right at 7am on moving day just like they said they would be. We thought we did a pretty good job prepping and wrapping items, but Kane and Azad (sp?) went above and beyond to cushion our fragile belongings, dismantle our kitchen table and wrap it up, and make sure everything fit without any chance it would move in transit. Not to mention they were the most pleasant, funny, efficient, hard-working people we could have entrusted with our things. THEY DESERVE ALL THE TIPS, so don't be stingy (especially since their fees are so reasonable). Kane we would have been lost without you! Please come back to San Jose if/when we need to move again. They were amazing dealing also with the fact that the new place we moved into had no elevators so they had to move both our furnitures and boxes up two flights of stairs to the 3rd floor! We had an unfortunate experience with Careful Budget moving. Kane was initially really responsive and the movers were on time. He sent three movers to move us out of a two bedroom townhouse. We had moved out of something similar, three story town house and moved in with two guys. We had wrapped almost everything and moved all small pieces into boxes into the garage to make it straight forward. Covid - the movers did NOT wear masks. I had to ask them to put them on more than once and they only had bandannas. They did not respect the wooden floors dragging pieces of furniture. We tend to move a lot so were very prepared. Once we got to the storage unit they took their time unloading the truck. It felt very much like they were dragging their feet. My partner and asked if we could help and ended up pulling stuff out of the truck ourselves. They also did not respect our fragile pieces and dropped more than one box. The move ended up costing us $300 more than normal. They also tried to over charge and after getting in touch with Kane, they reduced down a little. If you have to book these guys try to get them in the AM. It felt like we were taking advantage of because they work hourly. I would not recommend these to our friends. read more

This is from my own experience and nothing else. They arrived almost 20 minutes late. Which is already a no no for me. They finished 1120. Two hours and 20 minutes after. So do the math. The 20 minutes that was wasted arriving late was added to that time frame. But guess what that would not have mattered because according to the man even if they finished in an hour, I still have to pay the minimum three hours. Then why put in the advertisements that you charge by the hour. Just flat out say pay three hours. They also charge 10$ more per hour mind you for using a card. I contacted Kane through yelp and he was quick to respond with quotes and was able to schedule our move with short notice. The rates vary depending on weekday vs weekend moves. You're also able to choose the amount of movers. I chose three movers on a weekday, which came out to 109/hr excluding tip with a three hour minimum (for a large two bedroom condo) They were very professional, courteous, came prepared, took great care of our belongings and never seemed to slow down through nearly 6 hours of work. I was nervous using movers during COVID but it was an excellent experience. Why you ask? 1. I got a call the night before and we discussed the move. I wanted to do it in the 3 hours but Johnny set more realistic expectations which was 6 hours. 2. Booking the appt was super fast, Kane and Andy were responsive and they had the best price. The reason for the 1 star off was we were originally scheduled for 2-4 pm, and due to unforeseen event and delays fromthe previous clients they moved, we were pushed back several times, until they came around 7:30 pm. Jonny and Kane apologized and explained what happened and they gave us 4 movers for the price of 2 movers so it would be faster and because of the delay. The guys were super fast, I can't complain. Here's a shout out to Sargyn and Andreas. Very professional and courteous. I thought it would be a 3 hr job (their minimum) but it turned out to be 7. It was longer then guesstimated because they wrapped everything and took lots of care that no scraps or scratches occurred on the items being moved, the walls and the floors. You'd think I would be frustrated at the time but these guys weren't milking it- 3 bed sets, 3 dresser sets, 2 refrigerators, 2 desks, 2 marble coffee tables, and 6 sofas (2 sets) took about 3 hrs to load and the 26' truck was full. Then before drop off, they took a quick 45 minute dinner (no charge of course). Then unloading and reassembling. It was a long evening but they remained cheerful. Prior to the actual move, Andy helped with understanding the cost: $99/hr for a 2 person team. After 3 hrs, time is prorated at every 15 minutes. No funny busy, i.e. hidden fees. My movers were excellent. As far as careful and budget friendly, I think they hit the mark. I had a very tough job for them moving appliances and bulky furniture. Two guys got it done with amazing patience and great attitude taking my direction every step of the way. They didn't have power tools and used a ton of plastic to wrap things though. I suggest you dismantle if you have the time. Otherwise I'm happy with the job they did. I would have given them 5 stars but I felt the communication fell short with Kane. If you hire them you need to spell everything out and keep asking your questions until you get the answer. Calling seemed to have bad reception so he diverted me to texting over Yelp which is fine but don't take that as binding. You will sign a document that spells out some things like they are not responsible for hooking appliances up. Fine but I would have liked him to tell me no up front instead of relying on the legalese because I put the request to hookup appliances in my initial notes for the quote which seemed to have been completely ignored. I read the document so I felt their was a possibility this would be a problem and I did end up calling a plumber in the middle of the job which cost me a bundle. He misquoted me and also there was a 5% off for new customer language on the website he told me was no longer a promotion but the language is still on the website as of this writing. Also, I wrote in my initial request that there was a point A to point B back to point A agenda. You have to use some app to complete your order where I should have put this so I had to confirm when I didn't see it on the confirmation letter. He said he didn't know that agenda and corrected for me. I don't know if he was busy, stressed, or didn't read my texts carefully but makes me think he's not paying attention. So make sure you both understand the job you are asking. And reiterate to your movers they understand the job also. Would I hire again? Maybe but I'd probably shop around. read more
