This place never disappoints. Food and service are always great, healthy and tasty options and staff is friendly, professional and efficient (especially Arthur!). It's really great to have a fast casual restaurant that serves delicious real food like we'd make if we had the time. read more

I love this Silver Diner. From their coffee to their food to their desserts. I can tell they use fresh ingredients. And they have many healthy and allergy-friendly options. Definitely my favorite diner in the area. read more

I just watched the Food Network "Chopped" episode from February, 2017. Congratulations to Chef Ype, the "Chopped" champion on Food Network !!! So creative, talented, and humble. read more

I gave this place three stars because it is open late and has saved me from dying of hunger multiple times. The food is not very good, but is one of the only places serving after 11 pm. I am a night person and sometimes have trouble getting out as early as Reston requires for dinner. Play the "guess which country the wait staff is from game" and choose 50's hits from the little table top jukebox. The summer fruit salad is good, but too sweet. Breakfast food is your best bet. read more

I am seriously disappointed with Silver Diner. I dined last night with my family and specifically asked for a gluten free bun when I ordered my burger. When my meal arrived, I could immediately tell that the bun was not gluten free just by looking at it, even though the waiter tried to tell me that it was. I have eaten here several times and know the difference on looks alone. When another gluten free hamburger came out to the table, the waiter could finally tell the difference. That was the first f-up for the night. Fine. Understandable. Things happen... however, when you mess up somebody's order with a gluten allergy, you need to remake the entire meal which they SHOULD HAVE DONE. When my meal returned I assumed it was remade and chowed down... 15 minutes later my stomach started to horribly grumble which is the sign of impeding gluten shits doom. When I asked the waiter if my meal was remade or if they only changed the bun, he straight up lied to my face. When I had to leave early to go home and blow up the toilet he finally admitted to my family that the meal was not remade and they only switched the bread. What is wrong with people!?! Thanks to you I am now on day 2 of the shits and feel awful. GLUTEN ALLERGIES ARE REAL. Please respect that and do not lie when you mess up. read more

Go there with a group of guys three or four times per month for breakfast. Have never been disappointed. Food is always good. Maria is our server. She is always prompt and efficient. I give both Silver Diner and Maria five stars. read more

Loved this place...every Sunday, this was our brunch joint. They knew us as soon as we came in...lots of stuff for whatever the mood may strike. We even took our extended family there for brunch too! I ordered the meatloaf and could only finish half, so doggy-bagged the rest. The next day, I was eating my leftover and was wondering why I had a raisin at the bottom of my dish...oh wait, the raising had antennae and legs...NOPE, IT WAS A ROACH. And not just a cockroach that possibly slithered onto the plate before plating...it was drenched in sauce and looked possibly cooked (omg, I stared at that roach hoping and praying it was something else). I was so disgusted, I called the store. They apologized and said they would send a free meal voucher but there was no way in heck I could every go back. It was a pity too because there aren't any other seriously good brunch places :-( read more

I go to this silver diner often and this was probably the worst service I ever got. He greeted the table in an uninterested matter. I ordered my milkshake split and 20 mins later I asked my server about when I get it. His reply was "yea" and then "you don't have it ?" And he clearly saw the table with only water. He then proceeded to ignore us until the food arrived. We finished our food and he didn't arrive for quite a bit however I did notice how he greeted a table that arrived just then. He reviewed the menu, suggested meals and was extremely nice and courteous. It was like he was a completely different server. This led me to believe my visit was not as welcomed as his other table. He didn't ask if I wanted my check split and just did so of his own accord. He didn't even say a goodbye. I'm usually very happy with the service at this particular silver diner but It feels as though the service quality is declining. read more

This place is wonderful! Best breakfast ever! The pancakes and waffles are to die for! Everyone in the family finds something to love on the menu. read more

I have only visited this diner twice, but both occasions were excellent. Both times I had breakfast and ordered the Pecan & Sweet Potato Pancakes, which I ordered as a sort of experiment, and ended up really enjoying (clearly enough to order a second time). Everyone else in my party enjoyed the meals they ordered as well. The wait staff was friendly and prompt. The booths were clean. The parking was ample. The next time I am in town I plan to stop here for another round of pancakes. read more

I can sum our experience up in two words....slow and loud. Our service was extremely slow and we only stopped in for dessert. There was a group of extremely loud teenagers using vulgar language. The staff made no attempt to quiet them down. Not a great first impression. read more

As a Brit - it was great to experience an all-American diner when I first arrived in the US in 2000. Sadly the novelty of Silver Diner wore off though and my family didn't return for several years. Happily our family re-discovered Silver Diner a couple of years ago an have become fans once again. There has been a very successful transformation over the years. Love the new, fresh menu featuring local and organic produce. Menu items are the perfect balance of traditional diner, and current movement to 'local sourcing' with a contemporary flare. Great place for family brunch. Try it - you won't be disappointed. read more

This is a great example of a 5 star diner... Starting with my server, Maria who clearly knows how to make my experience great. To the menu/atmosphere which is tasty, unique, and fun. Prices were good. Even had management walking through to check on my experience. I would definitely come back here next time I visited the area. :0) read more

Good food, very polite staff, good service. nice emphasis on local, healthy food. My family goes there for dinners occasionally.

i love the silver diner...it's easy and predictable. a notch above fast food, on par with most other chains. the environment is better than your run of the mill slop factory (tgif, olive garden, chilis). the breakfast is a-ok, and makes for a perfect pre-work meeting place. i recently had lunch there (twice, actually) and the new menu is pretty good. i tried the bison sliders which were not very exciting. on a following visit i built my own burger w/ jalepenos, bacon and a fried egg...was pretty awesome. not five guys awesome, but a good burger for a diner. all in all, it beats the crap out of Wendy's and is a nice change of pace from the other chains. in this area, for breakfast, it's about as good as it gets...any other major metro area is littered with true diners and that statement doesn't apply, but we all know that the DC 'burbs are severely lacking in ma and pop joints. read more

This was our default place to go to when there were no other open places within Reston/Herndon, but the last time we went we were pleasantly surprised with the quicker service, the better food, less wait time, and very friendly service. The slaw is good and the line is making an overall effort toward fresher food. Good for them! The menu has more choices that are most appreciated. read more

Service = bad. Food = awful. Nothing tastes good from here. Ordered plenty of food and none were good. Basic/bland taste.

Went early Tuesday Oct, 31 with my two sisters and had a really nice time. Our waiter William Lewis was great, making sure we had everything we needed, and helping us with our choices on the menu. He was very sweet, and brought a smile to our faces. I'm from New York visiting my sister here in Virginia and it's refreshing to have a server like Will. I will most definitely give this restaurant a 5 star review and look forward to future visits. read more

Went early to reserve table for team meeting. Waved to server for password.

As usual my breakfast was so good today, Tuesday 10/24/2017. Moreover, Estefani is an excellent waitress who makes dining at the Silver Diner a real pleasure with her friendly and positive attitude. read more

Enjoyed breakfast here, good food and a very loyal clientele, from the look of things. Would highly recommend.

I have eaten at the Silver Diner multiple times and usually get the same breakfast. Their Eggs Benedict is delicious. Today, however, was a disgusting experience. My coffee cup had caked on lipstick on the rim, only noticed after I took a sip. The coffee also tastes horrible. So I asked for raspberry iced tea instead. I drank most of that to find some type of jelly smudged on the outside of the glass. To top of my pleasant experience, half through my eggs Benedict, there was a hair in the hollandaise sauce. I won't be eating here again for a while... read more

food might look good and fresh from local farms. but service is terrible and food delivered on "hot" plates since they sat under heaters for so long. ordered oatmeal and had to skim off 1/2-1 inch encrusted top when it arrived. felt like i was taking lip off a box! waiter ran past asking if things were ok to avoid hearing it. spent over $25 for breakfast for 2. pricey for bad experience. not the diner that you remember. read more

Crazy busy on New Years Day but just a minimal wait as the excellent management kept the line moving. When seated, folks didn't feel rushed at all. Even on such a busy day, it was still an extremely well-managed place with excellent service from very friendly servers. This is a much improved place from a few years ago-with lots of locally grown/ produced ingredients (often organic) resulting in healthier but tasty dishes. The outstanding management/ service is the icing on the cake. (And no deafening, blaring music, but softly playing music from some of the individual juke boxes) read more

In case you have been living under a rock, Silver Diner has made a complete turn around in the last few years. They are into local, organic and healthy choices now, and they have a wide selection for vegetarians. I've actually gone vegan in the last year and have still been able to eat full, delicious meals here; even with a smoothie for dessert. Prices are a bit high for a diner but the quality of the food being organic/local is worth it, and portions are enough to share or take half home. We have been there with groups of all ages, and its great for kids too - our toddler loves the food and the crayons :) read more

I have a small Saturday morning breakfast group that enjoys visiting this Silver Diner at least once a month. The friendly hostess always greets us warmly, and the wait staff are very attentive. The best aspect of the Diner is the emphasis on "fresh and local" foods. Their two-egg vegetarian omelet is one of my breakfast favorites. Prices are very reasonable for very fine quality. read more

This is a great restaurant with a wide variety of local and fresh foods. I have loved everything I have ordered. The staff is professional, polite, patient and we love chatting with them. We always leave with a smile. I would recommend this Silver Diner for the whole family and their prices are great too. read more

A lot of great options to eat, fantastic milkshakes, and good prices. Sometimes they're a bit busy and things can take some time, but it's a great place to head for a relaxed meal that's tasty. The biscuits are fantastic too, and the fries are delicious. read more

Very disappointing breakfast. Nothing was hot; the potatoes tasted like they'd been cooked days ago and pulled out of the fridge this morning to warm up slightly, and the biscuit was so cold that the butter I put on it as soon as I received my plate hadn't melted by the time I'd finished eating the lukewarm scrambled eggs. No complaints about the service, but we will never go back. read more

I absolutely LOVED our experience with Silver Diner! I went out to eat with my family for breakfast my first day in the area. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was even better!! Reasonably priced. I will definitely be going back regularly! read more

Not bad, but not that great either. It's a nice sunny atmosphere and the service was good. However, the coffee was really weak, and the scrambled eggs were dried out and weird - almost like strips of egg. The blueberry pancakes were average. The skillet was better, so recommend giving that a try. read more

I usually enjoy the food at Silver diner, but someone must was having an off day on my previous visit. I ordered the Turkey Chili with with Sour Cream and Cheddar Cheese. Crackers were supposed to be included. When the waitress returned with my order I noticed that she forget the Sour Cream and Crackers. Before I could question her about it she was onto the next table and away she went with their order. By the time she came back I was half done with the chili. OK, I wanted dessert and ordered a slice of apple pie. The slice she bought back had hunks of dry apple, but hardly any crust and cold. It tasted like it had been around for awhile. I paid my bill and left. I was very disappointed because usually the service and food is very good. read more

My wife and I often lament the fact that true old-fashioned diners have largely disappeared. However, The Silver Diner in Reston has succeeded in updating these traditional diners while at the same time maintaining true quality. Service is always prompt and friendly. Prices are reasonable. The restaurant is spotlessly clean. During the past four or five visits we ordered a variety of dishes which have been uniformly excellent. My lunch choices lean towards sandwiches and the bacon, lettuce and tomato and tuna/avocado sandwiches were perfect - fresh and crispy. The side of cole slaw was delicious and I had a second choice of fries or vegetables. My wife's fries were perfectly prepared; my vegetables were grilled brussel sprouts, beets and cabbage which were truly the best I have enjoyed. What a surprise! The chicken soup I ordered in the past was also quite good. A vegan friend who occasionally joins us orders the available salads which she reports are excellent. We return to this restaurant every week or so. As an aside, we also visited the Silver Diner on West Ox Road which was also very good. However, the Silver Diner at Potomac Mills, which we visited once, lacked the service, cleanliness, and top notch food preparation of the Reston site. read more

Silver Diner is a place where I can choose anything on the menu and feel good about what I am eating. I discovered this place after a medical condition. I was in search of a restaurant that used "healthy" meats without all the preservatives. They also use local farmers for their ingredients. The best part is that everything is delicious!! I have never had a bad meal here. The diner atmosphere takes you back in time. A great place for a casual meal. read more
