This restaurant wants you to believe they sell quality food by posting silly slogans like "Farm to Table." The quality just isn't there. It's actually BELOW average. On top of the crappy food, the service is absolutely awful. Our server was inattentive and never stopped by to ask how things were or to refill our empty drinks. First, free parking... Haha. Yelp was asking about a parking garage or street parking. No. Welcome to America, DC, there's a parking lot and it's free! Most communities require businesses to play for the additional traffic in parking spots and additional traffic lanes. But to the food, Crab cakes Benedict, with spinach on the Benedict and tiny corn kernels as well, and perfectly cooked eggs! When i cut into the second one, the yolk ran beautiful over the muffin. The crab cake is crunchier than you'd make by itself, but complements beautiful the softness of the other ingredients. It's a little more crab cake than the mostly crab, barely cake, that is sometimes found in this region, but still definitely crab, not deviled crab. Paired with fresh not frozen strawberries and melon. The melon ius harder than I prefer but the strawberries were not ice cold, which i really appreciate. Too bad I'm leaving. Silver diners have great menus ands this ids conveniently located and easy to get into and out of the parking lot. Close to hwy 7, it's next to a CVS and across the street is an outdoor shopping mall and trader Joe's. Should also mention they have outdoor seating which is pretty awesome this time of year, and very popular even early (before 9 a.m.) on Sunday morning! Also a shout-out to my fabulous wait person, India (Indy) for effortlessly taking my entire order as soon as she showed up, preemptively bringing me creamer before I asked (those things you forget, like salt and pepper, sweetener packets, that used to be on the table are BACK at this Silver Diner, but I still forgot to ask for creamer!) And then gave me top-off when I'd let my coffee cool off too much. I know, it's kinda expected, but too often places just do it when you've finally gotten your coffee just perfect, and she fid ask if I wanted a whole new one, but i said it was almost perfect except I'd let it cool off too much (wanting to share the pics of the crabcake before I got busy with other things ya know ;-) ) so, she was perfectly there when i needed, didn't hover, just handling her business like a pro, which as her customer, i truly appreciated!! I asked for a silver diner mimosa and this is what I get for $6.99. And I have not touched the glass, it's less than half. I asked for less juice and a bit more champagne. I was told that because I asked for less juice, it was a lot lower than the mark on the glass. I call this a lot less than half. How tacky! The waiter never asked my husband for another coffee. I order lunch pick up from this Silver Diner location regularly. I have always had a great experience. I always get a live person when I first call, they pick up right away, they're friendly and take my order correctly, I can pay immediately through a text message, and my food is always ready when I arrive. Max it's 10 to 15 minutes from the time I place my order. And I really do love their food. Almost always I get the Crispy Brussele Sprouts because I just adore them, and I make a meal out of them for lunch. Sooo good. Today I decided YOLO, and I chose the Lemony Chickpea Hummus and Cauliflower Pita Bowl. Really really good! I highly recommend this location. They're doing a great job! read more

Amazing food and great ambience, but the server was much to be desired. I was really looking forward to eating here last Friday as it has fantastic reviews. From first impressions I was very happy, the aesthetic of the restaurant was awesome, it did look like a genuine diner and it was very clean here. Furthermore, the person at the front of the restaurant that was taking us to our seat was very friendly. Then our waiter came, I forget his name, but he was really inattentive and lacked the friendliness of the front of the house person. I work in retail myself, so I get that it can be tough, but this was disappointing. When we were ordering, he would just say ok and not say "Can I take your menu?" or anything like that after we ordered, so it was a little awkward. Then while we were eating, he only came over once to see if we needed refills. I was surprised as Chili's, which my family goes to a lot, is really attentive and even waiters/waitresses that aren't our sever check to see if we need any refills. This was disappointing as the portions are large, which you can't take for granted, and I was quite thirsty. Now the food itself though is really good, the cheesesteak I had and the piece of chicken my mom offered me were both absolutely delicious. Seriously, the only cheesesteak that was better than the one I had here was at Rick's Cheesesteaks in Williamsburg, Virginia. My father and brother also seemed to really enjoy their food, so I will give credit where credit is due, the food is amazing! I REALLY hope we just happened to get the one bad waiter, as I want to come again as the food is much better than Chili's food for about the same price. After we were done eating though, our waiter came to collect our plates, but I don't remember if he asked us if we wanted desert or not, my dad just asked for the check. After waiting a good ten minutes he had to flag someone down to get our waiter to give us the check, I even Googled how to pay at Silver Diner in case if we need to pay at the front. When the waiter gave us the tablet to pay, my mom wanted to talk to him because she was really happy about the food, he completely ignored her. Overall I want to give this place another chance, as the food was very good, the front of the house person was very kind, and the place was clean and the theming was awesome. A waiter took care of the table in front of me and then the table next to me. Then he wandered off never to be seen again. I waited 15 minutes, then left. I wanted to love this place as it is around the corner from my house BUT :( Went twice; diner and breakfast. Both times service was SOOO slow from the waitress. I had two kids and that did help. The food came out relatively quick. For dinner I ordered the medallions (med/well), spinach and quinoa. Medallions we're over cooked and buttery, spinach was drenched in garlic butter, quinoa was fine. Kids ordered hotdog (overcooked) with edamame (fine) and chicken tenders with fries (perfect). I asked for a to go box twice (slow service from outside waitress). Breakfast took about 15 minutes to even get a waitress to say hi then it was fine from there. Kids egg with pancakes )3), and turkey bacon with chocolate milk were perfect. My blueberry/almond milk vegan pancakes were super tasty but not cooked in the middle. Attended the pre-opening tonight. 5 stars hands down! First, the staff were wonderful! Everyone from hostesses to waitstaff to runners just did an awesome job. Special shout-out to the 3 young ladies at the front door as well as our server. Many were young high school students, first job, just went through training. You all rocked it! Secondly, the food. We used to frequent the Reston location but haven't been in over a year. I forgot just how good the food is. Everything was absolutely delicious, and I know it's locally sourced, much is organic, & cooked healthfully - which is why I love SD even more. I'm gluten free & omg that cauli pita was EVERYTHING. I'm going to keep this review short, since I've left extensive reviews for the other Silver Diner locations in the D.C. area. I stopped in here late one night after watching a foreign movie at the Regal Fox theater in Leesburg. Silver Diner has been expanding rapidly recently, but managing to maintain quality in the process. Some companies, like one of my previous employers who shall remain anonymous, don't manage to do this. Chef Ypes has been running a tight ship and the quality of the food shows. Each restaurant has a shift lead who makes sure everything is done right and on time. I don't know what they call this position, but I have observed it every time I have been to one of their locations. I got the chipotle salmon and shrimp with mashed potatoes, roasted corn, leeks, tomatoes, lemon butter, sauce, and asparagus. It was vaguely reminiscent of jambalaya if you can imagine that, but not as spicy. It was on their seasonal menu, so I don't know if they still have it. I also got unsweetened tea, brown rice, and a chocolate shake. The shakes are to die for. I think the total was around $25 or $30. You cannot beat the quality for the price. The facilities are spotless and well maintained. The service is always quick and friendly, and the ingredients are always fresh and locally sourced. I have been a connoisseur of diners since the late 1990s, so I know what I am talking about. Keep up the great work. Thank you Ysrael for your great service. read more

I'm always hesitant to try a brand new restaurant, particularly a chain, but had a great visit to Silver Diner this past week! We visited around 5 p.m. on a Sunday and although it was busy, we were seated right away. Service was very good for what was a new situation for everyone. There will be little bumps and bruises, but the difference is that our server was very attentive and concerned with our experience. When you have that combination, it doesn't matter if there are blips because things are always righted. The food was excellent! I had the brussels sprouts appetizer and the salmon sliders, all delicious. My mans had a bison burger which he loved. Some people are crying about price, but this is not a typical diner. You are getting what you pay for, most definitely, with very good, quality ingredients. We will definitely be back!! read more

I have not been to silver diner in years ! I am pescatarian and they didn't use to have things I can eat. I randomly looked online about restaurants near me and they said silver diner had vegan items. All the items delivered. They were so delicious. Besides the food being extremely tasty I had the best waiter. Her name was Estefani, if you happen to stop by the silver diner in Ashburn please ask for Estefani ! She was the best ! Went here every week for a BYOB (Build your own burger) greatest darn burger I've ever had. I couldn't be more excited about it every time I went, this is coming from someone who has moved and lived all over the US so I have had my fair share of food. The workers are amazing and always make me feel like a valued customer. They are always clean and ready for their customers it's unbelievable.
