We came back after one year and had a subpar experience, compared to the last good experiences. We ordered the wild caught cod which was good but looked very different from the advertised item, the vege ciabatta which was so-so, and the smash burger which was lame and definitely not recommended. Other thing I don't like is that they rush you to put your order but then disappear and when the time comes to get your bill, they are nowhere to be found. Oh well, I guess this calls for another one year hiatus.

The Silver Diner in Ashburn was absolutely fantastic. We walked in and were seated right away. The place is very clean and has a great elevated diner atmosphere and ambiance. Though I did miss the diner tunes at this location. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We came in for a quick lunch and I wanted something more on the healthy side. I ordered the chicken piccata, which comes in around 600 calories. I really appreciate that the Silver Diner has some healthy options on the menu and that they locally source much of their produce. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The server even asked if we wanted drinks to go before we paid the check. Now that's what I call service.

What the menu looked like. And what we got.

Don't get the dessert. Not worth it.not great. Sadly. Loving the new menu... or menus. But I think you're also over complicating it.

Amazing food , hospitality and ambience. Our son insisted on a diner and this place is a farm to table concept with local ingredients. We were so pleasantly surprised. Happy to find this gem on our travels. The food did not disappoint. Great options for vegan/vegetarian or gluten friendly diets. Highly recommend.

Good food, good service, cool atmosphere. When we found out Silver Diner isn't just a run of the mill chain diner we decided we had to check it out! Definitely worth our time.

We always love a trip to Silver Diner! The food and service are always great, and we love the vintage diner vibes. Prices are not bad either, and they have seasonal specials and discounts quite frequently. I love that there's variety in the menu - I highly recommend the peach pie for two when it comes in season!!

This place just gets it right. Every dish is made with fresh ingredients daily, including pasteurized cage-free eggs and fresh-squeezed orange juice and you can absolutely taste the difference. The French toast is phenomenal, the pancakes are light and fluffy, and the omelets are loaded and satisfying. The mimosa flights are a crowd favorite for brunch and pair perfectly with just about anything on the menu. The meal portions are generous, everything arrives hot and correct, and the server automatically refills your drinks and checks back often that kind of attentive, thoughtful service is what keeps people coming back week after week. Come on, that's an instant five stars in my book. We ended up talking wine with him for a good part of the afternoon. He had us sample a few different pours before we landed on a Nebbiolo we loved. Later, after another conversation about wine, he brought over a taste of a white we'd never even heard of because he thought we'd enjoy trying it. It never felt like an upsell. As the evening progressed, more people came in for dinner. The place has an industrial type vibe with exposed ceilings and concrete flooring. We were seated and greeted shortly after we entered. A server came along to ask us what we wanted to drink. I had a lemonade while my husband had a Coors Light. We decided to forego an appetizer after reading the descriptions and seeing that they were meant to feed more than two people. For dinner, I ordered the "Grilled Atlantic Salmon" which consists of: "grilled 8 oz. Atlantic Salmon Filet w Tamari Bourbon Glaze & your choice of side". For my side I chose "cheddar grits". My husband chose the "Shrimp and Grits which consists of: "8 Jumbo Shrimp and House Bacon sauteed w Onions & Garlic in Creole Sauce. Plated over creamy Cheddar Grits & topped w Green Onion". As for the food---I found that the salmon was properly prepared with a pink center. The tamari bourbon glaze was a nice accompaniment as it added a touch of sweetness to the dish. I wasn't impressed with the cheddar grits as I found them to be too dense with little to no flavoring. The melted cheddar cheese helped some to add flavor but I would skip ordering this side again. My husband thought that his grits were also too dense with little flavor. The sauce portion was stingy and he used it to dip his shrimp in it. He did appreciate that the shrimp were served with the tails removed and were properly cooked. Taking inflation into consideration, this dinner was reasonably priced at $58 + change before the tip. Service was good as more than one server checked on us to see if all was well. We would consider going again and perhaps trying their burgers and sandwiches.
