Sichuan Kitchen isn't the place you visit for ambience. There's no music, the décor is bare, and the service is straightforward and minimal. Orders are taken, food delivered, that's about it. But honestly, you're just here for the food. The menu is packed with classic Sichuan dishes, and the flavors are bold and unapologetically spicy. You get that signature tingle from the Sichuan peppercorns the kind of heat that keeps you reaching back for more. Portions are generous and everything is made fresh to order. It's a good a spot to order family style if you're in a group to explore the menu. Some items we usually like to order include their hot and sour soup, Chongoing Spicy Chicken, cumin lamb (they also have cumin beef), green beans, braised bean curd with pork, and their crispy tofu.
We ordered dinner takeout here on a Saturday night. We got potstickers, pork, fried rice, and. Chongoing Spicy Chicken The potstickers were delicious. The pork, fried rice, lack pork it had maybe five slivers of pork that were maybe 4 inches long and less than a quarter inch wide The Chongoing Spicy Chicken tasted like Publix chicken with some spices attitude and the peppers were dried and not edible so I'm not sure why they were cut into small pieces that you had to pick out of your food I can't speak much of the service or ambience because it was carry out I originally wanted to get Mongolian beef here because that's what a lot of their good reviews were for and what we had tried at the place two doors down I might try them again for The Mongolian beef but otherwise I definitely would not get Chongoing Spicy Chicken again. and this is one of their top sellers And I would not get the fried rice again because there was practically no meat in it.
Food: It was disappointing to say that the food wasn't good. If their version of spicy is putting a whole bunch of red chilly and some other spice that makes your tongue feel icey, then that's not spicy. The fact that there's more red chilly than chicken says it all. And it was fried chicken that too. So, I ordered dried fried red chilly + side of white rice. Service: I always say that the restaurant experience can be made better when the waiter knows your audience. The menu didn't have description to know what I was ordering and the waiter wasn't helpful in helping me figure out what I am ordering. All she asked was if I like spicy and she pointed to the dish I ordered. Had she mentioned when I said white rice, that this would have been dry item, I would have changed my order. I mean who wants to eat dried chicken with white rice, no sauce, no gravy. Atmosphere: like some of the previous comments, you don't go here for the atmosphere but food and the food was disappointing.
This restaurant is quickly becoming one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the area. It's Sichuan style is a little different than most of the other places around us (Cantonese or Northern being more common) and that is what makes it stand out to me more. Today we were treated to bok choy, egg drop soup, chicken & cabbage dumplings and walnut shrimp. Every bite had a depth of flavor and tradition and was such a happy note. The service included a slow but completely efficient and you never feel rushed. The ambiance is nicely done with it being in an older strip mall. Casual yet solid... high recommendation! Hopefully the photos speak for themselves!
So authentic and wonderful! I went here for Christmas Eve and had to wait in a line but it was so worth it. Please order a soup, the Chinese eggplant dish, and mouth watering chicken. They place is usually filled with Mandarin speaking people which I love.
On my birthday, we went to Szechuan kitchen again. This time there were seven of us we end up ordering I think 13 dishes and had very little leftovers. Initially, we ordered 11 dishes, and after we cleared nearly all of that, my wife wanted to order two more dishes, and the waitress looked a little surprise and asked if it was for here. I think she thought we would ordered it to go. it's a nice little restaurant which people seem to enjoy. You'll see many Chinese eating there. I do want to try some other hot pot dishes. Sometime in the future. We will be back.
Welcome new Sichuan restaurant to JAX! Now i don't have to go all the way to Orlando, because the Laozi spicy chicken is just as good as in Orlando!
The best Chinese food I've ever had and I feel like it's not even close! I can't even begin to describe how flavorful everything tastes. I've had the pleasure of trying to many items on the menu: pork buns, soup dumplings, regular dumplings, wontons, cucumber salad, so many of the chicken dishes and fried rice and noodles, even down to their green tea that had delicious undertone flavors of jasmine. I come back here as much as I can and always suggest friends and family do the same. The service is always very kind and straightforward and the restaurant its self is always very clean. Couldn't ask for a better place.

This was a pleasant surprise for me. I luv spicy food and this place had just enough kick but not to much for those who like it less spicy. I never knew this place was here and I will return.
Great place to go for authentic Sichuan food. Ordered the eggplant with ground pork and chonggoing spicy chicken. Both super flavorful and tasty! Lots of garlic flavor, which I love. A bit salty and that's to be expected. Not the healthiest but definitely worth it. FYI, they charge for rice which is odd and not usual for this type of meal. They were pretty busy so service was lacking a bit but overall great authentic food and would go again to try other items.
Unbelievable sichuan food! Got the spring rolls, kung pao chicken, and veggie fried rice. Service was reasonable, ambiance is nothing to speak of but that's not why you're there. The food is amazing, and I saw so many people trying noodle bowls that I need next time. I can't wait to come back! read more

We love going to Sichuan Kitchen, food is cooked to order, fresh and packed with flavor. Few of our favorites are the Dan Dan Noodles, Chongoing Spicy Chicken, Fried Rice and Spring Rolls. The service is attentive but when busy you could wait, they have a small seating area. Ambiance is clean but small and line typically forms at door. read more

The food is amazing, very spicy if you like spice. The service is not the greatest, but food is good, we come here from the Westside quite frequently. It would be nice if they had a soda machine vs only cans. I wish more Asian restaurants would have sit down dining vs only take out. read more

The food was fantastic! This is one of the very few sitdown Chinese restaurants around. There were five in my group, and we all got something different. Everybody had nothing but compliments for what they ordered. The four stars is because the staff were not overly friendly. Nothing to complain about just maybe not what I would've liked. I was looking for takeout and found this place in a strip mall with mostly Asian-style stores and restaurants. This is a small, spotless restaurant with excellent service. The food is fantastic. I ordered noodles with pork, and the flavor was terrific. There is plenty of food for two or maybe three people. The menu has plenty of variety but is not too overwhelming. Let me start by saying yes, I recommend this restaurant. I also recommend that if you're going to order the kung pao chicken, you eat it on the toilet. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Everything was absolutely delicious. The issue with the kung pao was that there was so much oil, that it pooled on the bottom of the plate. I mopped as much as I could with a napkin, which was kinda of awful to see, but the taste of it was sooo good, mopping it up was worth it. My only "issue" was with the service. This young woman moved so incredibly slowly and was so apathetic that her arms fell to her sides like they were logs in between taking our orders. Like we were boring her to death like a parent bores their preteen. At any rate, the food was so good that dealing with someone who hates their job wasn't a big deal. This time. read more
Amazing food, and great value given the enormous portion sizes. The Chongqing spicy chicken is unbelievable and a must order if you like Sichuan cuisine. The Sichuan dumplings are also excellent, coming in a spicy (but not too spicy) chili oil. The only miss I've had here was the cumin lamb, which had no spice at all and was saucy instead of the dry spice I'm used to. The service is very friendly, and they have large comfortable booths. The restaurant is in a shopping center with a huge Asian grocery/market, so fun browsing after you eat. read more

I didn't want to give this restaurant 5 stars but only because 6 was not an option. Each of the dishes was better than the last. Best Sichuan meal we have had and we love Sichuan. Spice levels were perfect, portion size was great and ingredients were fresh. Will be back! read more

I had an incredible dining experience at Sichuan Kitchen! We ordered the Sichuan dumplings, chicken fried noodles, pork fried rice, and King Pao chicken--and every single dish was outstanding. Everything was made fresh to order, which really shined through in the vibrant flavors and quality ingredients. The food was truly satisfying and filling, yet surprisingly light and not weighed down, making it perfect for enjoying multiple dishes without feeling overly stuffed. The ingredients tasted fresh and high quality, and you can tell they put care into each dish. The service was friendly and attentive, making us feel welcomed from start to finish. The dishes are served family style, so keep in mind that they're meant to be shared amongst the table, which makes for a fun and communal dining experience. The restaurant itself was spotless and well-maintained, adding to the overall pleasant atmosphere. And the prices? Beyond reasonable for the generous portions and high-quality food. Since we found this place, we've been back several times and unfortunately we're repeat customers we eat the same food every time but the food is great. The service is fast and wonderful. Sichuan kitchen is one of the best Asian restaurants in Jacksonville! They have huge portion sizes and the flavors are great. This is the only place in Jax with the dry chilli Sichuan style chicken and that's one of my favorite dishes. Service is always very prompt. While Peony is our go-to for Asian cuisine, we chose to dine at Sichuan Kitchen next door instead - and the experience exceeded expectations. The Mongolian beef was exceptional, featuring tender meat, well-balanced spices, and a just the right amount of onions. We have been to Sichuan Kitchen several times and they are always consistently good. My best testimonial is that my wife for years would not go to a Chinese restaurant with me as she was always skeptical of the quality and cleanliness. Well now she wants to go get Chongoing spicy chicken every couple of weeks. Try it for the best Chinese in Jacksonville!! read more
Finally we made it to Sichuan Kitchen and I will say it really lived up to the hype. We came in for a early Sunday night dinner and had no issue getting a table. The waitress quickly got us menus and waters. They do not service beer, wine, or liquor so just a heads up there. We quickly looked over the menu and began to order way too much food. We went with the: Sichuan Dumplings General Tso's Chicken Beef Fried Noodles Chongoing Spicy Chicken Kung Pao Chicken To keep it simple everything was amazing best Chinese I have had in Jacksonville. My favorites were the Chongoing Spicy Chicken and the Kung Pao Chicken. Both were spicy but not overly spicy The Chongoing was crispy and full of Sichuan flavor. That of course makes sense because there were so many Sichuan Peppers that come with it. This is a dish that you will not find at your average Chinese Restaurant and I think the only in Jacksonville with it. or at least only in Jacksonville I have been to that has it. The Kung Pao was the best I have had in JAX. So much flavor and loaded with tender pieces of chicken. I also doesn't come with a brunch of veggies which is a big win for me. The Sichuan Dumplings were some of if not the best I have had in JAX. I could eat these all day and if you come you have to try them. They really reminded me of one of my favorite dumpling shops in Atlanta. The General Tso's Chicken and Beef Fried Noodles where also very good and had huge serving sizes, honestly everything thing here had huge serving. For sure a family style serving. My only complaint if I really had to pick one would be that I wise the Beef Fried Noodles had more beef but still the dish was huge and the beef there was very tender. Still my favorite Chinese restaurant in Jacksonville! I definitely recommend ordering the Mouthwatering chicken, eggplant in garlic sauce, fried pork with sweet and sour sauce, and the Dan Dan noodles. The flavors here make the dishes so savory, each dish is bursting with flavor. It's a brightly lit restaurant, and the food comes out pretty quickly. It's perfect for family style lunch or dinners. Fabulous food. Clean dining area. Friendly service. There are number choices when it comes to Chinese restaurants, but so few of them take the time to fix quality food like Sichuan Kitchen. Since I am Native American and not Chinese, I cannot speak to the authenticity of the dishes, but in my mind they are truly authentic representations of Chinese dishes. But you want to know about the food, right? Okay, here we go: Beer- they do not have beer or wine, but on my next trip I want to ask if we can bring in wine and be charged a corkage fee. Egg Rolls - served hot, crisp outside, good. Orange Peel Chicken - think better than the Panda, love, love, LOVE this dish. Kung Pow Chicken - nice traditional dish, quite a spice kick. General Tso Chicken - good, but is very similar to orange peel chicken. Lamb with Scallions - this surprised me, the lamb is very tender and lean, very tasty. Mongolian Beef - another good dish, but I thought the lamb was much better. Fried Rice with Pineapple - mild fried rice, pineapple pieces, solid fried rice choice. I know, I said I liked most of the dishes but I really think they do Chinese food very well. Parking is easy, plus there is a cool Asian grocery nearby that you have to go into to see some food items you rarely see elsewhere. read more
