First of all, let's start by saying their pictures on Uber are catfish .... I ordered the chicken teriyaki on a stick as you can see I got what the f*** on the stick.... I brung it back to have it remade or exchanged for something else, and all I was offered was only spare rib when I paid for a whole combination platter. I ordered the chicken teriyaki sticks combination plate through Uber Eats, and when I opened the container, I honestly had to do a double take. The chicken was burnt and looked completely different from what I expected based on the only teriyaki meat photo they have listed on the app. Yes, I understand the picture says beef sticks and I ordered chicken, but I still expected the chicken to be prepared in a similar style, not looking like it barely escaped a house fire. Even though I ordered delivery, I personally drove back up to the restaurant with my plate and explained that I was disappointed. I asked if they could either remake it or let me switch it for something of equal or lesser value. I specifically asked for the boneless spare ribs combination plate, which was the same price. Instead, I was offered either a discount or for them to remake only the meat, throw away the rice, clean out the same plate, and put the newly made meat back in it. :/ The young lady also explained that they offer the chicken teriyaki sticks as a combination platter, but not the regular chopped chicken teriyaki with sauce, which is actually more of what I was looking for. That can only be purchased by itself. I even had to show her the options listed on Uber Eats, which made the whole situation even more confusing. Honestly, this could have been avoided if the regular chicken teriyaki was offered as a combination platter on the app or if the menu made the difference clearer. As for the advertised photo versus what I actually received? Straight up catfish. I should've called Nev. The picture shows glossy, properly cooked teriyaki meat. Mine looked like it had been left on the grill during an emergency evacuation. I've been coming here for the past few years and have never had an issue before. I've always spoken highly of this place and recommended it to other people, which is exactly why this experience was so disappointing. It definitely left a nasty taste in my mouth. I had the spicy chicken with the fried rice, and it was fantastic! The customer service was really good, the prices were reasonable, and the seating area had a comfortable mid-range feel--definitely more inviting than a simple takeout spot. The place seems small when you walk in but it's pretty nice. The food was amazing and I wish I lived closer to eat there quite often. There is no table service so you just get your food and take it back to the table. There is no fountain drinks only cans and 16oz bottles of drinks. They are quick and efficient when taking and putting orders together and delivery. They offer pick up and delivery as well as a few booths inside to eat in. Our favorites are the szechuan beef, egg foo young, Pad Thai, all of the curries, egg drop wonton soup, fried wontons, steamed wontons, and of course the rangoons are delicious! . Their house soup is also so delicious if you are looking for an alternative to the basic soups offered. They offer a yummy pink sauce and you should request it when you order! To be clear, there was nothing wrong with any of our food, it just wasn't great. Having just moved to Jacksonville from Detroit recently, I very much had "MY" chinese joint that I loved in the Detroit area. Since moving, I keep trying different places looking to find "MY" place here. So far, each place that we've tried just all tastes and looks the same to me. I'm glad I gave this place 2 other chances, because my original 3 star experience does not represent this place! 5 stars all the way! I ordered the orange chicken, general tso chicken, crab rangoon, egg rolls, wonton soup and beef pad thai. The quality of the meat was great, much better than my first experience. The orange chicken was very very flavorful, bursting with orange. The crab rangoons were filled with creamy crab and had a touch of sweetness. Wonton soup was AMAZING. Not too salty or greasy like most places. I loved the pad thai!!! Im so glad I decided to order that because I will 100% continue to come back for that. Some places are hit and miss. I was told by many people how good this place was and I want to like them, so I will give them another try. I went through the Yelp app to order for delivery through Grub Hub. I stayed home sick this day and did not feel up to going out to pick up. The food did arrive promptly after ordering and my General Tso's combo meal. I ordered Bourbon chicken chicken combo for Ernie. The food was very hot. Mine was pretty good. I tried some of Ernie's and I did not like it at all. He would not eat it after his first bite. On the other hand, the egg rolls and the wonton soup was one of the best I've ever had. I will go there and pick up next time and try it again. But, I will try something else. I know and hear great things about the Owners, so I hate to write this, but I have to tell my opinion honestly. We've been on the hunt for a good Chinese place for awhile, and this one might just be "the one". First off, the inside of this place was super neat, fresh, and clean- no weird odors or gross moldy corners anywhere which is always a big plus. The owner and her husband were very friendly and nice- even giving us some free food to try as we waited for our takeout order. Now let's get down to business: how was the food? It was excellent! All of the food was extra fresh and flavorful, and it had a light taste. I ordered the chicken and broccoli. The carrots and broccoli were fresh and crunchy. I personally added a little salt to mine, but that's more a preference. The lo mein, egg fu yung, crab Ragoons, and other dishes were yummy too. As an added bonus the shrimp in the rice and dishes were large and they were deveined (I hate "dirty" shrimp). We will definitely visit here again I think. *update- we have ordered from here twice since my first review, and the food has been consistently good just like that first visit. This restaurant is very very good. The food is fresh and the atmosphere is great, nothing like your normal quick takeout Chinese restaurant. The restaurant is very clean and you will feel comfortable eating inside. I wanted to try the restaurant a few times before writing my review just to make sure that the great food wasn't a fluke. Well it wasn't a fluke, the food has been excellent each and every visit. The owners are so nice and willing to make small adjustments to dishes with no problem. The meats are tender, the vegetables are fresh and crunchy and best of all the fried rice is brown and not yellow like most places. So you know I have a basic dish that I use to rate Chinese restaurants " chicken & broccoli " and this review will be no different. The Chicken & broccoli is a 9 out of 10! The sauce is slightly sweet but also salty. Not as salty as I'd like but I think that personal preference and no reflection on the restaurant. The chicken was tender and the vegetables were fresh and not overcooked. So far I've tried chicken with Chinese vegetables, egg fu yung, beef & mushrooms, beef with Chinese vegetables, chicken on a stick (sooo tender), fried rice & vegetables egg rolls. We are new to the area and was craving Chinese food and tried this place. Wow was it great!! I had the honey chicken combo meal and the container was packed FULL!!! My husband ordered the vegetable Egg Foo Young and it had plenty of Brown gravy, and he never eats leftovers but enjoyed it sooooo Much he ate the rest the next day!! We love the American version of Chinese food so are always on the lookout for a fresh new to us spot. FG was sort of on our way to wherever we were going. We were looking for a place to sit and eat (getting tired of the sitting-on-my-truck-bed). We called-they confirmed we could sit inside. If you're concerned about mask-wearers, don't go here. The chef and others did not have any (we ate here twice and both times were the same). Customers waltzed in and out also without. Your call. Wife and I both love garlic sauce Chinese version so we ordered (and often do) broccoli and tofu with garlic sauce. It was really, really good. She ordered veggie lomein as well and it was, surprisingly, also really good. Both dishes were hot and fresh off the wok. Neither of them were overly greasy. Next visit we ordered our broccoli/tofu with gs again and we went wild-n-crazy and got another garlic sauce dish - mixed vegetables. I know, we really love on the edge. Half of the restaurant is blocked off. Yup, the half with the restrooms. On visit number 2, I had to use the bathroom. I asked but nope, can't use it. There's got to be a health violation in there somewhere, especially because I'm insistent on washing my hands before eating, way before it was Covid-cool to do so. The service was ok...nice enough without going over the top. They certainly didn't go out of their way to make us feel welcome. The second time we went, I called in our order as we were going there to pick up food to bring home (we live over and hour and a half away). We enjoyed the food that much. The girl taking my order required 3 repeats. Point to note, we enjoyed it enough that we went here though it was 18 minutes outside of our route, according to Dr. Google Maps. I walked in expecting the small, tight chinese take out but I was surprised how modern and open this place was. Staff were nice, they try to explain questions best they can and i can tell they work hard for thr business. I don't know how long the promotion may go, but they have real good deals like, if order is over $20 they give u free 2 can of soda or 2 egg roll, over $30 crab rangoons or edamame, and over $35 free entree of General Tso's chicken. Im gonna take advantage of that later before it goes away teehee:) I ordered Shrimp and Chicken Pad Thai, and got it to go. The food was great!
