I never leave reviews at all but. This deserves a review. I got my food, But when I opened my container, there was a BUG SMASHED inside of the container. I didn't think nothing of it so showed the male worker and he was adamant that the bug that was smashed with "LEGS and WINGS and dried in its own BLOOD" was just the sauce while he scrapped it away. After that he walked it back to the Lady worker who came at me hot and ready. Saying that it was the sauce. I said it was fine you can just remake my order I'm fine, it doesn't have to be a big deal. She makes it a big deal Yelling that I need to leave, and she will give me the refund because it's just $10.50. Like I said I do not leave reviews. I wish I took a picture to have evidence to show. China 99 has excellent food. The portions are good sized for the money. There has never been an issue with orders not begin correct. I call by phone - I understnad them fine and have never been hung up on. Once the order is placed its usually 10 minutes and I go pick it up in person. It's packed at lunch with people eating there or to pickup their orders. My family and I have eaten here for years and I think some of the previous reviews are either to get free food or competitors. This is not a high end chop house so yea its more of a fast food/pick up rather than dine in for sure. Most of the negative reviews would be gone if people would just go get their own food. You could have made sure you had utenisls and sauces. All of that is at the counter. Guess I am old school but I want to check everything including my food, which I do anywhere I eat, prior to taking it home. Getting it delievered just makes everything so much more expensive and most drivers rarely check your food so don't count on them to do that. In other words order by phone and go get it. read more

Every time I order on Uber Eats they always don't send utensils to eat with they advertise special and don't send or charge the right and you basically have no recourse to fix it with peoples not understanding English and hanging up when you try to solve the problem and the house fried rice always comes with a very small amount of meat 90% rice every time I order online that might be the problem don't order online read more

have eaten here once before as a dine in but this time I ordered it delivery and I was pleased with the result. food was plentiful, enough for 2 meals so that offset the higher costs. I got beef egg foo yung and there were three large egg patties plus white rice and gravy for around $17. I usually don't eat the beef flavored and the pieces of beef in the egg were large. Spot on Shrimp Egg Foo Young. Probably the best I have eaten in Jacksonville. Dinner portion they give you 2 -5" in diameter patties and fried rice. Included also with the special is an egg roll that was a nicely added bonus. The Gravy for the patties was the icing in the cake. Very flavorful. The service was quick. Less then 10 minute wait. What a sad experience. Orange chicken and upgraded to all white meat. I'm not sure what animal the white meat came from, it was so stringy and chewy. Most of the meat was sliced so thin by the time it was cooked it's so chewy and gross can hardly eat it. Was only able to eat barely half of it. The biggest disappointment was getting a church business card stapled to receipt. I don't expect to get accosted for the religion of the restaurant owner when I order Chinese take out. This was my first (and last) visit, my fav is sweet & sour chicken. The sauce was good, although it had the tiniest pieces of chicken I've EVER had in take-out. Tons of breading to hide the small size of each piece. It was more like a piece of diced chicken in the middle of a hush puppy. In my large order only a handful of pieces were even 1". There are limited options in the area for chinese. I've ordered from China 99 twice in the past month. The first time I stopped in to pick up a to go and ordered the lunch special kung pao chicken. The lunch special comes with fried or white rice and a drink. The chicken was barely noticeable with most of the dish being veggies. The spice was perfect though and the fried rice was good so I initially thought I'll give this place 4 stars due to the lack of other options in the area. Yesterday I did a call in (much quicker 10 min turn time) and I decided to try the chicken and mushrooms with fried rice and a spring roll. Totally different huge pieces of chicken in this dish (the flat sliced chicken isn't my favorite b/c it doesn't hold flavor). It was just ok. Not much flavor at all in this dish and I had to add two packets of soy just to get something. The spring roll was very good however so I'll stick with a strong 3 almost 4 stars for China 99. read more

I had the Sweet and Sour Chicken with white steamed rice as I DON'T EAT PORK. The menu said soup or drink included, so I had Barqs Rootbeer. I'm putting a 4 since the portion may not feel you up, but I'm not putting a 3 since the place is clean, the owner was pleasant to talk to.. though she speaks little English and myself little Chinese. The food was really good and fresh. Definitely some of the best Chinese take out I've had in a while. I was frustrated though because I made an online order and they hadn't checked the printer since I made the order. We showed up almost 30 minutes later with no food ready. I'll definitely try their food again but I think that if you have an online ordering system you should keep up with it! read more

Food was excellent, shrimp and mushrooms tasted fresh, cooked very well. Spiciness was perfect, not too much and not too little. Sauce was great too, actually had a little hint of garlic and not overbearing - better than most places. Pork fried rice was a bit dry but was still good. This Chinese place is one of my favorites in Jacksonville. My aunt and I come here often to get take out. I always get the lo mien and she always gets the seafood fried rice. Both are very good and you get a lot of food for your money. It's the typical Chinese food place, but I like this one more than some of the others around Jacksonville.
