Salt & Pepper Shrimp with sweet and sour sauce
    Zay J.

YH Dim Sum is the first Dim Sum place i have had the pleasure of going too and its simply the best. It perfect captured the asian culture that i grew up watching endlessly when i was younger from anime shows & the atmosophere and food is even better than i could imagine. From countless dishes like the short ribs , dumplings & lomein noodles i always find something new to try each time. The Salt & Pepper shrimp is an AWARD WINNING appetizer that they serve and it honestly is so fulfilling i think it could be its own entree! I have come back more times than i'd care to admit just because of the shrimp!

Always love a dim sum spot! This restaurant was spacious and good for big parties. We came for my uncles birthday. The food was delicious and our waiter was a super nice guy and personable. They had Chinese and Portuguese egg tarts but I liked the Chinese ones better (both were good though!) They brought out a little dessert for my uncles birthday with a candle, which was so sweet!

I typically don't like to leave negative reviews specially for restaurants because I know how hard these restaurant owners work. But yesterday with an exception, I went there with a group of girlfriends for a Mother's Day dinner. The service was super slow. Our waitress never brought our water despite we asked for it multiple times after she took her order and brought out the first couple dishes she disappeared for a good 30 minutes. We had a flat multiple people down to get their attention. Which is wild because it was not busy! Then I asked for a Sprite three times and never received it in the end they brought me a child size to go Sprite cup, which I did not ask for. The gratuity was added already since we had a party over six people however it wasn't mentioned in the original bill, so we thought that it was not included therefore, we added an extra 18%. I feel like this experience was lacking a lot of professionalism and training. Hopefully this restaurant would be able to improve soon because I do enjoy eating there and the food is good.

Very nice spot, lots of parking and seating. Promptly seated and drink orders take. Good service Family style portions, fresh and hot entrees- ordered fried rice, Singapore noodles, black bean fish and congee. All were very good. Will be back

Spicy yummy chicken earns its name!

YH Dim Sum is a vast and expansive restaurant typical of the large dim sum halls common in California and Singapore. I went during the week for lunch, and it was relatively quiet. I hope to return for dim sum on the weekend. Service wa friendly and attentive, and the selection is incredible. As I was alone I decided to stick with the lunch specials, which are a great value and provide a ton of food. I started with the hot and sour soup. It was delicious and fresh, with soft tofu and freshly cooked mushrooms. The sour was spicy but nuanced, one of the better examples I have sampled. I then has the Yummy Chicken, which earned its moniker! White meat chicken was stir fried with asparagus and mushrooms in a delicious spicy sauce. It was a very filling and enjoyable meal. I cannot wait to return to try the dimsum!

Good place for family style dinner. They have a rotating table to pass the food around. They have dim sum and family plates to share. They can sit large parties so you can bring all your family.

We've visited YH several times and have always enjoyed the food and service. The restaurant is spacious, making it ideal for large parties, and it's also a great spot for celebrations. I am so glad that the dim sums are now available during dinner! My go to orders are Beancurd roll, pork and shrimp Shu mai, roasted duck, fried rice and Mongolian beef. They have so many options and so far everything that I have tried were good! They also have a bar for those who like to have a few drinks. I encourage everyone to visit YH!

Had a tasty experience. We started with a couple apps the salt & pepper shrimp and egg drop soup. The soup was so great and enough for 4 people. It had veggies in it making it a hardy soup. The shrimp were good just wish the seasoning stuck to the shrimp more instead of scooping it on. We then went into some dim sum. The broth in the soup dumplings was very flavorful I wish I could just a get bowl of that! The truffle shrimp steamed dumplings were good and hit the spot for any truffle lover. I enjoyed the fried shrimp balls they were the same great filling I'm use too just without the crunchy wonton strip exterior. The roasted duck was also tasty. Definitely will be back to try some other dishes.

Turnip cake, fried pork-filled dumplings, and fried sesame balls.

As this restaurant is affiliated with the YH Seafood restaurant in Orlando, I had high hopes--that place is renowned for quality and high style. This YH Dim Sum restaurant is not quite as fancy but still a very inviting, sleek, and spacious, purpose-built interior. There is a family/banquet menu with multi-course options for six or more people so you know they're courting the banquet business, too--a good sign of a serious Cantonese restaurant. But what people come for mostly is of course the dim sum (though they have other Cantonese dishes on the menu as well). My experience was a bit varied in quality so I'll just go through them one by one: --Shanghai soup dumplings. Not good. Tasted as if from frozen, soggy, fell apart, little flavor. I have in fact had better ones that WERE store-bought frozen and I steamed at home. --Fried pork dumpling. Very generous in size, flavorful, a bit oily though. --Fried sesame balls. Good-sized, clearly home-made, tasty. --Turnip cake. Perfectly fine and a larger portion than from Yummy House and most other dim sum places. So, overall good. I don't know what the fuzzy happened with the soup dumpling but that was an absolute fiasco. Everything else was solid, service was prompt, friendly, but not intrusive. And again, nice ambience and pretty good location near The Avenues.

Salt and pepper pork chops after we've eaten half. So delicious

I've eaten here 4 times in the past 2 months and I'm hooked! Every thing I've had is amazing and the Dim Sum and main menu are vast and the quality is fantastic. A must order starter is the appetizer salt and pepper chicken wings, huge crispy wings topped with the salt and pepper topping that I could eat by spoonfuls and found out they actually sell it separately to go, but a warning it's a lot of cilantro so if you have the gene that make you hate it then definitely this is not for you. They have the best soup dumplings I've had in Jax. For dinner last night I had the baby bok choy with mushrooms and it was delicious, hubby had the salt and pepper pork chops which were crispy and fried to perfection and also generously topped with the S&P mixture which is minced fried garlic, green onions and lots of cilantro with jalapeño's all of this equals ultimate umami deliciousness. All entrees are large portions and plenty to share and served with white rice. The service is great, staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes and the restaurant is super clean and well lit. I highly and confidently recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I have dined here at YH several times already. Just like the YH in Orlando, food has been consistently delicious. The Roast Duck hands down is my favorite. Other dishes we've tried below: - Mongolian Beef - savory and flavorful - House LoMein - another favorite - Orange Chicken - Sweet and Sour Shrimp - Cantonese Eight Treasures Pot - wife loved it - House Fried Rice - Stuffed Eggplant - Egg Drop Soup - Chicken and Corn Soup - have to order again - Salt and Pepper Shrimp - Shrimp and Scallops in Wine Sauce - Dim Sums I suggested to celebrate our group's next birthday here and it's definitely happening! Can't wait!

Wow! I visited this location a very long time ago before it was transformed into YH Dim Sum & I am thoroughly impressed with the transformation! The dining rooms are stunning, the bar- gorgeous and the service, phenomenal. We went to try the Dim Sum and we are already planning to return for dinner! The menus are extensive! I know it is tucked back, out of sight- but this is a definite gem to dine at. I can't wait to return! Shrimp Balls- different coating than I have had at other Dim Sum restaurants, but delicious (and hot- cut those bad boys open to cool) Pork and shrimp dumplings- again, superb & hot Shrimp and crab dumplings- I confess, I didn't care for the wrapper, but the filling is really all that mattered Chinese donuts- not the sugared kind you get at a buffet, but a savory fried bread that was wonderful. John and I were both very happy we opted for it, it was like have bread for the table! Won Ton Soup- savory broth with bok chok & dumplings (which I love)- this is a HUGE bowl, made for sharing and we still brought home leftovers!

The server was extremely rude from the moment that I walked in. Upon coming in, I was not greeted at all. No Hi, Hello, or anything. The server glanced at me and I asked for a table for 1. In which he turned around with a menu and sat it on a table. He said absolutely nothing to me when doing this. The only thing that this water asked was for my drink order, if I was ready to order food and if I wanted to place anymore orders because the kitchen was closing. He did not crack a smile or try to be kind at all. Was definitely a poor customer service experience, and I was really looking forward to visiting the spot for the first time. While the customer service was terrible, the food was pretty good. I ordered a few dim sum appetizers and was pleasantly surprised by the taste and how fulfilling these small appetizers. In addition, it was such a large selection and all priced very fairly. The food alone would make me return but hopefully the service the next time will be a lot better.

Now, I may know why: There was no soup in them. They were soupless dumplings. I also ordered some spare ribs. I thought I ordered some blackbean sauce ones, but maybe I either mis-read the menu or they brought the wrong ones, because these were more like black pepper ribs. Regardless, they were decent, and tender. Even the connective tissue around the bones wasn't too tough. One dish I wouldn't get again was the Rice noodles with bbq pork. It was very bland. I'll get to the food in a minute but I'll start by saying that before we opened our fortune cookies at the end, I jokingly said "I hope one of these says 'you will get your original Facebook account back". They didn't say that but I included a photo of both because I feel like they're close enough As far as food goes, we split the Peony Sampler for an appetizer and loved it. It definitely did it's job as a sampler because now we know we like all of their appetizers and would order any of them on their own in the future. I ordered Egg Drop Soup after that because it's a favorite of mine. I always add a little salt to their version of it but I add salt to a lot of soups so that may just be a "me" thing. I had the Sweet & Sour Pork with Fried Rice for my entree, which is the same things had last time and it's still great. I was used to the greatness of Detroit area Chinese food like Chin Tiki, China Jade and so on. After searching around online and trying just about everywhere over the past year, I finally found Pagoda online and thought we'd try it. We didn't know this going in, but the restaurant is divided into two sections. One is a "regular" Chinese restaurant and the other is the tiki bar. The staff was SO nice and very cool. They kept apologizing that the tiki part was booked up for the night. We ate dinner on the regular side, then they were all excited to tell us they could fit us in the tiki side after dinner. They even took our leftovers and put them in the fridge while we went over to the tiki side for drinks! All the way around, this is EXACTLY the place I've been searching for. We will be back ASAP.

I ordered the zombie cocktail to start the night and it sure lived up to its name and you don't need 2 for sure. I freely than ordered off the menu and enjoyed a spread layed before me. The first were the deep fried pork dumplings. A bit of sweet ness in your first bite and before I knew it I ate the whole thing..very good. I followed with the fried chicken potstickers. These were amazing!. Cantonese chicken wings were next but that was my "put it in a box to go" item. I did also enjoy a sweet n sour chicken that was so good, not overtaken by veggies but just enough bell peppers and pineapple.Very Tasty.. This place is a true experience and the service was great! Enjoy it with friends or family and check off the box on your places to go in Jax when you visit The Tiki Room..
