AYCE Buffet

If Sakura Buffet was a boxer, it would be one of the best "pound for pound" buffets out there. Food is always hot and stacked. Plentiful choices. Once you walk inside, all you see are buffet islands of foods. So choose carefully. I've never had one bad experience when coming or eating here. One of my favorite AYCE places.

Affordable buffet, large selection of foods, and attentive service. Great for groups, as there's something for everybody. I would dine here again! We came on a Sunday, so it was very busy, but we were sat right away. The restaurant is spacious, with two dining areas, so there's plenty of tables. What I loved about this place is that they have a sushi bar and hibachi grilling area, where they cook your chosen raw items in front of you. I suggest bringing a couple of dollars to tip the sushi and hibachi cooks if you choose those stations. There's plenty to choose from in this buffet, from savory choices like clam, mussel, shrimp, fish, chicken, pasta, pizza, salad and soup, to sweet treats like fruit, pudding, cookies, pie and ice cream. Flavor-wise, the hibachi steak and noodles with veggies I got were my favorite. I'd come back just for a couple rounds of that! Next best thing was the sushi. It was light and fresh. The guy was making more rolls when I got to the sushi bar. They make sure to keep it stocked. Some of the less tasty items were the pizza and cake. I did have a slice of warm apple pie and a fried donut, which were delicious! Our server was very attentive and came by several times throughout our meal to clear the table of old plates and refill our drinks. I always appreciate attentive service! All-in-all, this place is a good choice if you're looking for affordability and a variety of options.

I frequent this place with my friends, even went on a couple dates here! I enjoy the food, there's a huge variety to choose from. I usually go during the week because of the great lunch price of $11.99! They are usually not pretty busy during the week before 3pm so the service is really good, waiters/waitresses are all pretty good at clearing the table fast as soon as you finish your plate.

Sesame chicken

The food was completely trash! My lady and I came here since we were in the area and wanted to try something new and it wasn't the best experience we will not be returning. The food was rather dry/ hard not really seasoned. I got the sesame chicken it was very dry very hard it seemed like it was cooked a day prior and microwaved for today's serving. The veggie egg rolls were hard the bourbon chicken was pretty dry. The rice was about the only thing that wasn't overcooked. I complained to the manager he did offer me a discount which was at least a step but it wasn't enough to not leave my review. If you have the extra money or extra time to go elsewhere for better quality food something that clearly wasn't made yesterday and warmed up for today please do so you'll thank yourself later and save yourself the disappointment. Again first visit and last visit just as fast! In my opinion moving forward fresh food would be desirable more options would be nice as well everything is pretty much the same dry under flavored over cooked food.

I've been craving a Chinese buffet. Since COVID started a lot of them have closed or the quality has not been good. I got to the restaurant at 11:20 hoping to get the freshest food. I thought I would give Sakura a try based upon a recommendation from a friend. But this was a big disappointment. The hot food was only warm and the cold food was warm. I tried a lot of different dishes and only a couple of them were decent - fried wontons and dumplings were both good. The have several American dishes that I have not see at other Chinese resturants - pork chops, fried fish, polish sausage, Mac n cheese and fries. Some comments on other items I tried: Terrayaki and Bourbon Chicken - only at room temp despite being on a steam table (and yes I stirred it to get what was on the bottom) Sweet and sour chicken - over cooked and mostly breading Sesame chicken - unable to chew Chicken on a Stick - overcooked

The service was great, the buffet price was good, and the food was good but all of the food was warm which is unfortunate.

The food is sooo much better than any of the chain restaurants. We started with the fish dip with crackers which was good, but the meals were delicious. I had the Soca salmon BLT. Service - there is a young lady (wish I noted her name, previously blonde but was brunette at our last visit) who always provided prompt, friendly service if we were in her section. If we were seated in an area being serviced by the bartender, it was a given that service would be very slow. At our last visit, we were seated by someone who said she would be right back with waters. She disappeared into the kitchen area & about 10m later, I saw her view our table and realize she had forgotten our waters. The restaurant was always less than halfway occupied during these visits, so the service issues were always surprising to me. Food - The reason we returned for multiple visits is because my mother loved their fried shrimp platter. I tried the shrimp and fries and they were great! I can also recommend the Fish Club which I enjoyed on a couple of visits. What I cannot recommend is the Caesar salad with shrimp (dressing was terrible and the shrimp had little flavor) or the crab cakes which they serve burnt not browned. I've included a pic directly from their website that indicates that my order wasn't a fluke.

The interior is clean and vibrant, decorated with a charming nautical motif. Our service was amazing, our waitress informative, witty and just a pleasure. The lunch specials are actually a great value as well. This place checks all the boxes and I haven't even talked about the food yet. You can order your food grilled, blackened or fried. My wife ordered blackened shrimp and it was excellent. Really nice taste with just a hint of heat. Nicely done. I ordered the flounder and had it fried. It was perfect. The flakiness of the flounder stayed intact and it was fried to perfection. You can tell all of the oil they use is fresh and everything cooked to just right. The clam strips, the same, they just hit. The hush puppies, simple concept, but I gotta say, they were the best I've had anywhere. Moist inside, crisp outside, just sweet enough...decadent, amazing. My sweet potato soufflé was outstanding as well. I also wanted to try the fried corn on the cob. It was good, it's a southern thing, I would probably not choose to have it fried again as a preference, but I'm glad I gave it a try. I can't wait to go back and try some other dishes. Fantastic seafood experience. I highly recommend you give them a try.

Being from a landlocked (Arizona) state, I wanted to get some fresh snow crab as you can truly taste the different even if you can get flash-frozen. We pulled up, and it seemed pretty underwhelming where it was located. When walking in, I initially didn't notice the insanely cool boat fountain that we marveled at on our way out. Loved the decor as simple, but the fountain elevated it more than other seafood boil places I've visited. Elijah was very friendly and appreciate the recommendation to go very spicy (extra hot). I often feel like some places vary. I want the spice, but I don't want it to completely overpower the food like some spice levels will. This achieved an exceptional flavor and still cleared my sinuses from the spice - perfection! The crab was amazing and the shrimp was pretty good as well; though next time, I'll do all crab as it was insanely fresh and tasty. I'll definitely be back if in Jacksonville again for work, and recommended to the local coworkers in the office!

The potatoes were perfectly soft and able to sop up the seasoning. The sausages were a good combo of chewy and soft. And the corn was super juicy and sweet. We got the mild option, but honestly, we didn't really notice any spice, so I would definitely go for a higher spice level next time. The seasoning was pretty good, but not the best I've had. It was a bit too oily for my preference, which sounds a bit dumb because of course it's oily. But it was so hard to get the seasoning on the food. At times it felt like I was only scooping oil up without any of the flavoring. Whereas at other places, it felt like the oil itself was super flavorful too.

But I can tell you, that my family was thrilled when I brought home food that was absolutely packed the top of the container and once warmed up tasted fabulous. I dare you to eat a whole container at one sitting, it took me three to get through mine and each time it tasted just as good as the last.
