My wife and I were looking forward to a seafood dinner after seeing a couple of yummy looking pics through Yelp. But when we walked in, there were no tables. You can only order to-go. Bummer! It's also a market place where they sell fresh seafood. I've been craving for some oysters so I ordered the fried shrimp and oysters platter paired with sides of garlic hard-boiled eggs and fried okra. Good thing we checked our to-go containers because they put fries instead. We weren't told that they were out of fried okra. I just started a low carb diet and the next best thing was the cheese sticks so I got those. My wife ordered the crab legs and shrimp dinner. We definitely enjoyed them. For $11.99, I got a 10-pc decent size shrimp and 10-pc oysters with my platter. Good deal I think. They were perfectly cooked and tasted fresh. The garlic butter sauce on the crab legs was delicious. Since this review is way over due I won't keep you all for long. It baffles me that Century 21 Seafood and Chicken has more customers than they do. The first time I went there I got sick, then my friend ordered food from there, I ate it, and again got sick. So no more Century 21 for me! Hot food comes with a wait... There's no way to get around that! So be prepared to wait 10-15 minutes if you ordered fried food or a bigger order in general. I've been happy with everything that we've ordered here, and because we come here so much often times we walk away with a complimentary fried combo, drink or something of that nature. And as a customer and more importantly a Yelper, it's very much appreciated. If you are a garlic, butter, spices type of person then you won't be disappointed with AJ's! I was not impressed with the customer service here. There was a misunderstanding between myself and the guys taking my order and I had to pay for it, literally. I asked the guys if I could get something different than what they already had prepared in the food case, in a smaller quantity and the guys told me yes they would be able to accomodate my need. Well when he gave me my order he only removed the side items from the tray rather than giving me half of the seafood tray as I requested initially and he charged me full price. When I explained that what they prepared was not the same thing I inquired about the guy said ok, no problem we will fix. So when he fixed my new tray that was suppose to be half the size of a regular tray, it seems as if he only have me 1/3 of the original tray not 1/2 like we agreed upon. THEN when he rang up my order for $7.99, he made some hand gesture displaying his frustration, then pushed a few buttons and my order ended up costing me $11.49!!! I have no idea what kind of tax he was calculating because I'm pretty sure in the state of Florida any other register would have calculated that differently. So I'm more than sure I paid for an "angry tax" as my son called it, instead of the regular tax. Other than this price inflation issue, the food was phenomenal! My suggestion is to stick with whats already prepared, don't try to complicate things! I would've given them a higher rating if that issue didn't happen. read more

Came here while visiting Jacksonville and May I just add the food was AMAZING this is the first seafood place I've been where the food was already cooked but placed in the refrigerator/freezer to preserve the food quality. The Shrimp was AMAZING the Crab Legs were okay the potato was good but kind of tasted like it may have been cooked a previous day and frozen afterwards. DO NOT & I REPEAT DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!! I went to buy 2 dozen of Jumbo & 1/2 dozen Large of Live Blue Crabs and this man (who I believe is the owner) tried to shit me!! He tried to sell me medium/large sized crabs (really medium sized) for a jumbo sized price!! I literally argued with him about how the crabs were not JUMBO but he is trying to sell them to me like they are. I told him that I know what crab sizes look like (been buying them for two decades now) and that he was dead wrong for trying to shit me! He did allow me to go back and look at the crabs in the boxes & that confirmed it!! All the crabs back in the boxes were small to medium sized (Damn!! I hate that I left my phone in the car... I wanted to tale a picture of the BS he was trying to run on me).. maybe some were large, but not many. The young girl working up front (bless her heart) knew what I was saying was right. He did not have any boxes of Jumbo crabs in the back with the rest of the crabs. He claim they were all in my bag. LIES! And I find it very interesting that the young girl after going in the back to fill my order originally, told me that they ran out of Jumbo crabs, but then he came out front and interrupted her and started speaking another language and then looked at me and told me that he had what I needed...Really dude?!?!? Now...I will say that there were maybe about 5 crabs that were Jumbo in size, but the others that he was trying to charge me at a jumbo sized price were NOT! Needles to say... I did NOT buy any crabs from him! And I hope he does not try and take advantage of someone else with his LIES! AJ, if you're reading this review (hopefully you read your reviews) please conduct business much better than what you did today! What you tried was not right and you know it and everyone who works in there know as well. I am a regular at this place! They have a great variety of seafood combos to choose from. The blue crabs used for the garlic crab trays are always big and they don't jack up their prices every other day like most crab houses. Give them a try! You will not be disappointed. read more

a j 's seafood is a ripoff !!! went in to get1/2 bushel of oysters ,that they saved for me . i have a 60 qt cooler, should have filled it up a little less than a 1/3.
