I'm sad. I'm sad this place isn't in St Augustine, or have a location closer to St Augustine…read more Ever since I discovered this place, I try to add it in when I'm in the area. Unfortunately, I'm not in the area that much, and only once did I make the journey just to come here. What is the draw, you may ask? Great beer, great food, great atmosphere, great vibes! , That said, every meal I have had here has been delicious. The beer is pretty darn good & cold too! Of course, with the long drive...ya gotta limit it. But it's worth it for anything on the menu. I don't know where to start food-wise, I am trying to eat my way around the menu. The gator tail and fish dip are two of my favorites for small bites/appetizers. The Elk burger, the Taphouse burger, and the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich are always amazing....and then there's the cole slaw...yummy! Delicious food, and they have more than just sandwiches. The menu offers a little something different. The atmosphere and vibe are always inviting, and the staff is super friendly. The prices are fair, portions are ample, and there is plenty of parking. The decor is fun too! Not to mention, they give a veteran discount with proof of ID. What more can you ask for? Well, I know what I can ask for! To the owners: pretty please, with sugar on top, consider opening a location in St. Augustine. Not in the downtown area, but the folks north of town need something; they need you! Around the Palencia & Kensington area, off US 1 to be exact...or anywhere nearby in that area. The folks there would love something they can walk to, ride bikes to, maybe even use a golf cart to get to...and yes, a short drive is good too. Jus' sayin'! Please just check it out...I said pretty please!

It looks like it might have been a steakhouse before and this is new? Anyway that aside, we had good service and food that was bland. Salt would have helped but there was none on the tables. And if asked for from the waitress, took longer than thr entree/side was around for. We probably wont be back

I really wanted to like New Berlin Seafood, but after giving it two chances, I'm honestly left…read moredisappointed. On my first visit (a Wednesday), I waited over an hour just to be seated....only to find out they were completely out of oysters for the week. That was frustrating, especially after such a long wait. I decided to give them another shot this past Wednesday, hoping for a better experience, but unfortunately, it didn't improve. This time, I was told that oysters can no longer be prepared a certain way because it's considered a "special order." Instead, you're limited to however they choose to serve them.....either raw or lightly steamed. For a seafood spot, that's a bit surprising. Most people have a preference when it comes to oysters, and being told you can't customize your order feels restrictive. After speaking with the manager, she did agree to accommodate my request this one time (for one or two dozen), but also made it clear that moving forward, it wouldn't be allowed. That response didn't sit well with me....it gave the impression that customer preferences aren't really a priority. Between the long wait times, limited availability, and lack of flexibility with orders, I left feeling unpleased and unsatisfied. At this point, I'm not sure if I'll be returning.

Once seated everything went awesome, thanks to our server. I am so sorry I didn't get her name but she was truly what I expect of good staff. She sat us, provided menus , asked about drinks and the. Came back to see if we were ready to order. My friend had many questions, as did I, and she was spot on with her recommendations and providing her take on the different levels of spicy. I ordered the dungeness crab boil and my friend ordered the lunch menu fried shrimp with Cajun fries and coke slaw. The servings were huge for a lunch plate and my picky eater friend enjoyed everything! That's a big deal because she's really picky. I actually got a lot in my crab boil too! Two crab legs with lots of shrimp and sausage plus potatoes, a half ear of corn and 3 hard boiled eggs. Now the eggs were new to me, never had them in a seafood boil before. I got the mild original and it was delicious. It was so much I had to get a to go bag. I later ate a bit for dinner and with more of the seasoning soaked through it was even better! The restaurant is at the market place with plenty of parking and nice big booths. It even has a bar. We didn't get drinks but I could so see hanging out in the evening with a nice cool drink too. My only recommendation is for them to get a bell for the door so they know when guest arrive. We saw people enter and wait for someone to acknowledge them but after 5 minutes they left because I believe only one staff was there and they didn't know someone else arrived.

Of course I needed to have this meal courtesy of my mom. It's been forever since I had decent garlic crab legs and this place did not disappoint. Usually places want to give you garlic butter and the crab legs barely have flavor. Here, every bite of crab meat was seasoned. They even sale their sauces for anyone to purchase. The gentleman working there on a Sunday filling in for the owner was friendly. One important thing my mom did is confirm that she wanted to have the food warned up. She mentioned that they don't do unless you ask, as it's easier to serve quick and allow the people to heat to their choice or have them do. The ambiance of this place is fresh seafood of all kinds, and not a place to sit and eat. The small dive locations are always the best and this is no different.

We all got an assortment of food, including the trio platter, and the mates platter. This is the only place in Florida that doesn't have bleached shrimp. The crunch of the fried fish takes you back to the days of you were a kid. The deviled crab is something out of a five star restaurant and don't get me started on the scallops. My friend Casey and Jack both opted for the platters as well as Jason and let me tell you they were not disappointed. Sean went with a Poboy that would pair well on a hamburger bun. I would drive from Georgia just to tear this up. That's how good it was. Thank you, Cedar River for memories. We will never forget. ( we topped it off with a milkshake after)

It would be a good idea to remind staff to clean in between patrons, as well. When someone is taken to the table and they have to wait because the hostess/waitress is flinging food off the booth and the table it's a bad look. That was our first clue it wasn't going to go well. This is not a made fresh, cooked restaurant. Box food, frozen, canned. Mac and cheese was Kraft...omg! I deplore powdered orange fake soggy pasta. Then it is served after sitting on a warmer, so it's dried and crispy on top...mmmm yummy, not! The coleslaw is in a plastic tub GFS that was used to supply KFC years ago, I'm talking 90's. 1 of the few things I ate. A bit of nostalgia. LOL. Clam strips are frozen, very similar to Adelphia Seafood. Honestly, not worth the price. A note, throwing cayenne on shrimp does not equal hot & spicy. It's just shrimp with cayenne. 8 gator bites at an OUTRAGEOUS COST and bland, no seasoning. We won't be back because the cost does not justify what you get. It's just a markup on food service truck ordered junk.
