Fushimi Buffet is located in a sprawling shopping plaza, so parking will not be an issue. The inside ambiance was pleasant enough and no complaints about the service. It's a buffet, so we didn't have too much interaction with our server. They have a good selection of food laid out and with any buffet, no matter how much we protest this comment, I think we go more for the quantity rather than the quality. Not that I was expecting a lot, but this is meh at best. A lot of choices, but nothing was good. Pretty bad renditions of American-Chinese food and the sushi was even more so Americanized (sorry but fried maki rolls are a total bastardization). It was wonderful! This is the best buffet I've been at, the food is pretty much fresh tasting and there's a lot of varieties to choose from. I was surprised. It's very clean and cute too! The sushi was very good as well. Everything was very good overall. It's a little on the pricey side but It was worth it!! This was with no drinks added. We got waters with lemon. My mom had a separate bill with a drink on hers tho which I think was 2$ for a drink. I didn't really see her bill though. For an AYCE Buffet, I really enjoyed this place. Right off the start.... The Cajun Juicy Seafood and Grilled Steaks are part of the buffet which I have never seen offered on any buffet places locally. Inside is clean and modern. Service is great. I have noticed that the foods and trays are constantly filled. And the floor is closely monitored and cleaned. Additionally, we came in as a party of 5. There was a long line to wait but we were able to be accommodated and seated right away. All in all, I will be taking my AYCE butt back to Fushimi soon. The only downside I see from this place is, seating capacity is smaller and there is no Hibachi. But what makes up for the other stars is the food selection, quality and service. read more

I've been looking for an Asian buffet to come to Jacksonville for years and was excited to see this place open. I stopped by last week after picking up a friend from the airport. The place is clean and the staff were very friendly. I wish the food has better taste. There was plenty of food and it was fresh. The food wasn't that great to have paid what we did. Our server only stopped once to ask us if we needed a refill and that was when we were almost done and my drink was empty for a while. Stopped in a few weeks ago when I was in town, for my nephew's high school graduation. We had a really nice experience. There was about 14 in our party. The restaurant and the buffet area are kept super clean and tidy at all times there are always constantly workers walking around to make sure that the buffet is not messy and the serveware is clean and where it should be. The food overall is good. There are plenty of options for everyone, even if you don't like sushi, lots of hot foods to choose from including a large amount of chicken and seafood dishes. I've eaten here once before during a weekday and now Saturday evening from 3:30 to 4:30 pm. $83 for my 11 & 12 year old daughters and myself. For me it was not a good economic venture since they only eat a very little. The restaurant classify them as adults... is that a scam or what!? You will need to decide if it's good for you though. There's a lot of food and it's good. The staff is nice and treated me very well. The bathroom sucked. One deluxe toilet suite larger than a one-bedroom apartment while the other has just enough room for you to back in to. Naturally you will need to stand on the toilet to open and close the door. So for those of you that didn't know, Fushimi opened a new location at the River City marketplace (RCM) on the Northside and what used to be Red Lobster. We've been waiting for months for this to open mainly because the other location on Atlantic mentions snow crab legs as part of their all you can eat buffet. So three of us went there last night. My wife and my niece had a show to see at 7:30 PM, so they didn't have a lot of time to eat and figured the buffet would be quick service. As it turns out, THERE IS NO SNOW CRAB LEGS OFFERED AT THIS LOCATION! I asked the server who waited on us about it to see if it was maybe just on weekends that they would offer them and he said no that they're not going to and mentioned the other location. Later, he came by and tried to explain it further mentioning something about the price being cheaper. But with all the background noise, I couldn't hear him that well and it didn't really make a lot of sense of what he was talking about. Maybe he was referring to it being a couple dollar cheaper for the customer? Regardless, wow the food was on par of what you would probably expect at other Chinese buffets around town, I saw a few things on the buffet that I hadn't seen elsewhere such as sticky rice and banana leaf, barbecue steam buns, custard filled buns, which are more dim sum like items. But for the price that you're being charged, I don't think it's worth it without the snow crab legs. I can go to other buffets for cheaper for about the same food that was the main reason I went there was because of this and then they're not gonna offer it on northside. Typical of how the northside gets screwed yet again. I don't know what their decision-making was regarding why they won't offer them here on the north side. I do know that if they did offer them, they would make a killing. They probably wouldn't be able to keep up with the demand, as seafood is very popular in this area. Especially crab and shrimp. I hope their Management responds to this post for the three of us including drink tax and tip at 20% tip came up to be $100. That's too expensive. Update: I called both locations today to try to get an answer about why they won't offer crab legs at the northside location. First I called the Atlantic location and the person on the phone said they want to offer different menus at each location so people have a choice and they have their own management can do what they want. So, I then called the northside location and the echo pretty much the same thing. read more

My first impression was that despite being extremely busy, the floors, dining room, and food areas all seemed very clean and aesthetically pleasing. There were overwhelmingly plenty of choices to choose from and the staff was ok. The reason for the two: The cashier was handling payments AND sauce cups lids. That's contamination. Add that she was also coughing directly into her hands without sanitizing and touching on people's takeaway boxes and using those same contaminated hands to put the lids on the sauce cups which are kept under the counter. Why? Why are the sauce lids under the counter? I am going to notify the health department because this is beyond disgusting and a public health risk. After I saw her coughing in her hands, I said to her there is the sanitizer, and she pointed to it like I needed it. She needs to have that sanitizer right next to her, she needs gloves between handling money, touching food lids, and opening and weighing people's food containers. She needs to use basic hygiene precautions to keep customers safe. Her actions could cause a lot of illnesses. This was my first buffet since Covid. I carry my own Clorox wipes and sanitizer for the very reasons I saw your cashier displaying unsanitary activities. Covid, by the way, is still prevalent. read more

The food wasn't the most spectacular thing I've ever had but I wasn't expecting a Michelin star meal for $23 a person. Tried this new restaurant with another couple for the first time. Initial thought was that it was loud but that's because we were seated next to a table with 5 children and 4 adults and the kids were crying, running around...you get the idea. They left after about 20 min. so we had no others next to us for about 35 min and then another large party arrived, taking up 2-1/2 booths (all children) and 2 tables for 10 people. My biggest thing I always see is with letting children under 12 go to the buffet in their own as that they pick out way too much food to eat for themselves and they get bored quickly, and then half of their plate is not eaten and ends up in the trash. So wasteful!! Anyways, back to the food - the 4 of us did not have any food complaints out of the 12 trips to get our main food items! So many choices and everything was neat and tidy at the bar, with staff refilling constantly with fresh food. Even the pre-cooked steaks were flavorful, and had medium rare and medium steaks to choose and they were amazing. It would be great if they could add a few bottles of Heinz 57 sauce to go with the A1 that was there. LOL Our only disappointment was the ice cream for dessert...artificially flavored chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla options were frankly poor taste quality so we won't have those again. Otherwise, fresh fruit and baked sweets were great. Reasonably priced and clean. The last item we hate to mention as our only complaint were the restrooms. Floor full of strewn toilet tissue and paper towels - in every stall and common area with overflowing garbage cans. Staff are so focused with food items that we think they forgot to do hourly checks on the status of their restrooms. It was messy in both men's and women's so suggest this be added in the to do list to be considered. Both of these failings brought me to my 4 star review instead of 5. All in all, we'll be back again and glad for a new reasonably priced option to have many choices for dinner! Enjoy! read more

The buffet has a large selection of decent American Chinese food favorites, sushi, and seafood. Again, decent, not amazing. The buffet appeared well maintained and the waitress was solid. The bathrooms were not well maintained and the price point was on the high side with a price of over $20 per person. A family of 4 can expect to pay nearly $70 with water at dinner. Food is the same as every Asian buffet (I think they all buy food from the same distributors). What makes it worthy of the rating is: 1. Food was replenished before they ran out 2. Hot food was hot. Great food variety. Food was fresh as there was a constant turn over since it was busy, can't speak on a regular basis. I will say that the buffet does not keep the food as hot as it should be. They possibly keep the wells low to not dry out the food but it's definitely fresh. I love that the shrimp selection were jumbo to large shrimp and they clean the shrimp! This is one of my pet peeves, many of the buffets I have gone to serve you unclean tiny shrimp. The grilled steak with onions was great as well, grilled flavor and tender. Most of the other options you can find on other Asian buffets and I am not a sushi person so I can't speak on that. Price was reasonable, clean restaurant and restrooms. My wife and I were invited to join them for lunch at the Fushimi Buffet at City Station recently. Walking in, I was amazed at all of the food counters with the largest variety of Asian dishes I've ever seen including a cold bar with oysters. The food was very good and the service very attentive. ZERO STARS IF I COULD....Let me save you some time: DO. NOT. GO. TO. FUSHIMI BUFFET. This place is a walking red flag from the second you step in. First off, they interrogated me about my child's age like I was committing fraud -- asked multiple times like they were desperate to upcharge. Then they started the shameless pressure for a tip -- standing over me, watching me like a hawk, making the entire moment tense and uncomfortable. When I didn't tip for their garbage service, they instantly switched to speaking another language right in front of me. That's not only unprofessional -- that's flat out disrespectful. And it gets better. I had to ask two different people MULTIPLE TIMES just to get a Coke. A basic soda. At a buffet. For what you're charging, I shouldn't have to chase people down for a drink like it's a scavenger hunt. Then they rush me like I'm holding up their whole establishment to pay the bill -- literally dropping the check and hovering. I specifically told them not to split the bill -- and guess what? They split it anyway because clearly following simple instructions is too much to ask. On top of it all, there's barely any English comprehension, but instead of being helpful or patient, they acted like I was the inconvenience. The icing on this disaster of an experience? They sat us in the far back in a dark corner like we were being punished. The audacity. Fushimi Buffet doesn't deserve a dime of your hard-earned money.
