The meat quality isn't the best. Doesn't really matter if you ask for meat done a certain way. They will cut and serve you what they have. We were a party of 22 people. Our waitress left before us so they had a very hard time figuring out our checks in the end. Some people overpaid, some didn't pay at all lol. It was a cluster. Every single thing that I tried was simply the best. Even a chicken leg was probably the most delicious piece of chicken I've ever had. I tried to keep up with everything that I tried, but I lost track very swiftly. (I do believe I tried everything except for the salmon because I don't care for salmon. The other people at our table did try it and loved it.) At one point I realized I had tried almost everything but not the lamb. I mentioned it to a family member who has been there before and they immediately flagged down a waiter to tell them. Turns out that you have to ask for it specially. Very soon after, lamb arrived at the table and I will continue to dream about those lamb chops probably for the rest of my life. So savory and delicious. The meat selection they brought around was phenomenal, and I feel like we rarely saw the same meat twice unless you asked for it. But the icing on the cake for me was the grilled pineapple. Came to Terra Gaucho in Jacksonville tonight to celebrate my son's 16th birthday, and we showed up with one clear mission: meat, not salad. Mission accomplished. Every cut we tried was excellent, but the bottom sirloin stole the show--tender, flavorful, and easily our favorite of the night. What really set Terra Gaucho apart from other Brazilian steakhouses in the area was that the non-steak meats actually held their own. The chicken and other offerings were surprisingly on point, which isn't always the case at places like this. Service was great, pacing was solid, and the staff made the birthday celebration feel special. No complaints there. The only surprise of the night? The sodas. Apparently refills are not included, and somewhere between carving meat and celebrating a teenager turning 16, we accidentally spent $27 on Sprite. With that much salty, glorious meat, free refills feel like they should be a basic human right--but lesson learned. Overall, excellent food, great service, and a memorable night. My friend has been going to Terra Gauncha's for a while. She's a picky eater so that is really saying something! It was my first time going with her and I was really impressed. First I felt under dressed even though it was for lunch, that's how elegant the restaurant looks. The salad bar was great! I had salmon, shrimp , cheeses, fruit, beans and rice, everything but salad and veggies which is why I went and they had plenty of veggies to choose from. I decided to go all out and got the full course with the beef, chicken and breads too. It was delicious. Even once I was done the staff asked if maybe there was something besides what was being currently offered that I would like. This really impressed me and I almost got the garlic bread but knew my eyes were being bigger than my stomach. The food was plentiful, delicious and varied. So worth the cost. However, I do think there are better Brazilian Steakhouses in the area, hence my rating. We came a bit early for our reservation and were seated immediately. For our party of 6, the table was kind of cramped. Every time we were offered meat, I had to move something out of the way so that the server had enough space to set their supplies down. The dining room area is not that large, so it felt sort of stuffy -- almost like a cruise ship dining room. I'm not sure if it was because of where we were seated, but we were offered the same 1 or 2 cuts over and over again. Even when we had a specific request and told a server, that cut never made it back to us. The food that we did have was good!! My family very much enjoyed the buffet bar. I also like how they have different menu options (full experience, chicken & seafood only, buffet bar only) for those with different dietary needs/preferences. All the food runners were standing in the back talking to each other while waiting for the next tables instead of checking on guests. Several runners with different meat cuts never made it to our section. At one point while I was at the salad bar my waitress took my full plate of food so when I returned all of my meat was gone. After that, it was difficult to get anyone to bring more. I did not get more. During my entire visit, I was only offered three different types of meat. Several members on our tables had the green card but no one appeared. We were a large table. I'd suggest going elsewhere as they seem to have trouble with large tables. We stopped in last night after playing at the TPC course. We knew we were going to eat a Brazilian steakhouse, it was just a matter of which one. Considering we've visited the well known one's in many other cities, we decided to go with Terra Gaucha for a new experience. It did not disappoint and our experience was first class. From the hostess accommodating our seat request to our server Frankie with a warm welcome and outstanding service. The set up is pretty much the same as most when it came to the salad bar. Everything on it looked fresh and presentation was on point and made me want to try everything. Did i mention everything i chose was delicious! The meats presented are on par with all the rest but I must say that the garlic picanha was out of this world. It actually had chunks of garlic on it when it came to us and it was the last piece I finished with last night. The wine selection of Malbec from Frankie paired nicely with everything. As far as the ambiance of the place, nice and clean with a modern vibe and it seemed like everyone there last night was enjoying their dinner. There are several options on the cold/hot bar that are very good. There's more food than I've ever seen in my life. Many of the cuts of meat are very good. I enjoyed the salmon and the prosciutto/cheese cuts at the cold bar the best. The chimichurri was delicious. Great atmosphere and staff. Seems very clean. I do understand why it's so expensive but that's why I didn't give a full 5. I've had food that's to die for, for much less and then had leftovers. Recently visited Terra Gaucha and this is not a meal, it's an amazing, next level, dining experience. There are other Brazilian steak house out there but none do it nearly as well as Terra Gaucha. The interior is elegant, deep reds and browns, everything is art from the decor to the food itself. There is a salad bar that has excellent selections of fruits, vegetables, cheeses, breads. Everything is just amazing. What they do with pineapple is simply magic. You are treated like royalty here with a team of attendants who make sure your water is never empty, your plates always clean and that your food is to your liking. The selections of meat are incredible. Beef, sausage, chicken, shrimp. Sauces are impeccable as well. I wanted to give an extra nod to the fact that we were there celebrating our anniversary. The restaurant already had a few tables full and a larger, private room with a big group seated. After clarifying that we only wanted tap water to drink (they try to upsell bottled water immediately), we were able to make our plates from the hot and cold buffet area. Unlike other local Brazilian restaurants, the variety of items on this buffet have something for everyone. Spectacularly fresh vegetables, fruit options and meats & cheeses along with hot items like rice and beans, rice with pork belly, lobster bisque, Madeira sauced mushrooms and more. The timing was perfect since two additional large tables and other diners soon were seated. The protein options circulated came fast and frequently. I prefer medium cooked beef and most items were done perfectly for my taste. The other circulating items, like the Parmesan pork, bacon wrapped chicken, grilled shrimp, and sausages were also cooked perfectly. Our water glasses were constantly filled, never empty, which is great because I drink a lot of water. We did not have any room for dessert, but were asked if we were celebrating anything. We had shared in our reservation and again to the server that it was our anniversary. We were offered a dessert to-go, with three options: flan, tres leches cake, or crème brûlée. Seeing as how my NOW fiancé is from southern Brazil, I thought this would be a great place to take her for her birthday. Out of the way for us as we are outside of Savannah. Very very well worth it. I booked on the Open Table website and left a note stating that not only would this be her birthday dinner but I would also be proposing and wished for a more discreet seat. As I walked in, they all read the note that was left and sat us in the far back corner away from everyone in the main room which was perfect. The food was amazing! Well seasoned, perfectly cooked, and wishing we would have took some to go. The wait staff was very very friendly and accommodating. They worked with me to ensure that the proposal was indeed a surprise and a success. Awesome awesome awesome! (Hope I spelled that right) All the cuts of meat were tender, with the famous hint of light coarser salt on the met and burst the fl it's out of the meat.
