We were looking for someplace new to have dinner tonight and I found this place on OpenTable. I am so glad I did because it is a beautiful space and the food was pretty good too. The cuisine is mediterrean. They have plenty of good sounding hot and cold appetizers. We started with the Greek Mezze Board. It had hummus, baba ganoush, whipped feta, mahummura, warm pita and seasonal vegetables. We also had the mixed olives appetizer. It all tasted great. We next had the soy braised pork belly, another great choice. Our final item was the chicken Shumai. Service was quick and friendly from our server, Taly.

Down and dirty: delicious food with fresh flavors. Beautifully decorated and friendly staff. Overall experience was just Okay for the price. We were celebrating our anniversary and it was noted in the reservation, yet the staff said nothing and did nothing to make us feel celebrated. For a place this pricey, they need to step up their game on experience. Not sure I would go again. Service: Staff were friendly but lacking that welcoming/warming feeling. My husband is a beer drinker and asked the server for beer options and was only given one option. Then, another party sat next to us and the guy asked about beer selection and the same server gave him more options and one my husband would have preferred. Very disappointed. Food: simply amazing and fresh. Great flavor and freshness. Cocktail was different but good. Most of the positive rating is because the food flavor. Ambiance: boring. Nicely decorated but snooze fest. Staff were nice but not engaging. No "live entertainment" as read in other reviews/ website. Very transactional experience.

Went to Catalina on a Friday night and the vibe was amazing! The place was pretty full and we didn't have e a reservation, but we were able to be seated without a wait. They do have bar top seating that (like any bar) is first come first serve. Walking in, there is a lot going on in the best way possible. The place is visually stunning, there was a stage with a DJ and a couple of dancers. At one point during the night, patrons received candle sparklers to hold up and wave. Quite the vibe! Their cocktail menu is quite unique and the drinks they make are like art, not simply shake and pour into a glass. The food menu is refreshingly different also. Most items are à la carte vs a meal (think tapas). I ordered the soy braised pork belly, potato millefuille, and grilled asparagus. I had the Musa cocktail to drink. Given how busy they were, service was unfortunately slow. Our waitress was appropriately apologetic, but nonetheless, service was slow. Because of this, my food wasn't hot when received. I didn't want to send it back and further wait, so I didn't say anything. Despite it not being hit, it was actually still amazing. This is a testimony to how well the dishes truly are. One cool note is the potato millefuille is topped with truffle filled little balls that look like caviar. Note, they are not actual fish eggs but rather truffle oil filled caviar replicas. They really enhance the potatoes. I really, it was quite the vibe. The drinks are a hair higher than average but worth it given the vibe and presentation in my opinion. Worth checking out if you haven't!

Got dressed up and decked out for Cataluna Jax, and it definitely lived up to our expectations! The upscale atmosphere, exotic entertainment, and refined dishes make you feel like you've been transported to Miami or Las Vegas, not your own backyard in the 904. When you walk in, you're greeted by Insta worthy décor. The bar is gorgeous, the drinks are beautifully garnished and are just as delicious as they look. Service was friendly, however, our table wasn't ready at our reservation time. It wasn't a dealbreaker, we were excited to enjoy a drink at the bar, but we were definitely hungry by the time we were seated. With how busy the restaurant was, I can understand tables taking longer to turn. I ordered the Grilled Mediterranean Octopus, which was excellent, and halfway through dinner a fire dancer performance began. She was spectacular and had the entire room captivated. If you're in the mood to dress to impress and enjoy an upscale dinner right here in Jax, I highly recommend Cataluna.

    Mediterranean Sunset description

Cataluna - Jacksonville, FL Cataluna is one of those rare spots that manages to feel both upscale and inviting -- and the food? Absolutely delivers. Cocktails: We started with a Mediterranean Sunset (8/10) -- bright, refreshing, and a solid opener. But the real surprise was the Amor in Capri (9.5/10). I'm not a bourbon fan, but this cocktail might have converted me. Smooth, balanced, and dangerously drinkable. Appetizers: The Mediterranean Octopus was a showstopper -- 10/10. Perfectly tender with a char that added just enough smokiness. Probably the best I've had anywhere. The Braised Pork Belly followed closely behind (9.5/10). Rich, melt-in-your-mouth texture with a sweet-savory glaze that didn't overpower. Entrées: Scallops came out beautifully seared and buttery -- 9.7/10. If you like scallops, these are a must. The Half Rack of Lamb was cooked to perfection (9/10), though the tzatziki didn't quite land for me -- felt like a mismatch with the rest of the plate. Brussel Sprouts (9/10) were crispy, caramelized, and totally craveable. Even sprout skeptics would approve. Dessert: We ended with the Molten Dulce de Leche (9/10). I'm usually not into molten cakes, and while the molten center wasn't my favorite part, the flavor overall was rich and indulgent without being too sweet. Service: Service was okay -- nothing bad, but nothing particularly memorable either. Friendly enough, but lacked that extra touch that can elevate a great meal to a standout experience. Final Thoughts: Cataluna feels like the Mediterranean vacation your palate didn't know it needed. Top-tier ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and a cocktail program that holds its own. Can't wait to come back.

I celebrated my birthday at Cataluna, and while the restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, my experience left a lot to be desired. The space gives off a luxurious, high end vibe. The kind of place that makes you excited to dress up and celebrate something special. Unfortunately, the service and seating situation didn't match the atmosphere or the price tag. I made dinner reservations well in advance for a party of eight, clearly noting that it was for a birthday celebration. To my surprise and disappointment, when we arrived, we were seated at what was essentially a coffee table tucked into a corner. Imagine trying to enjoy a multi-course meal while bending over your plate. It was almost comical. There was barely any room on the table. Dishes and drinks were piled on top of one another, making it hard to relax or truly enjoy the experience. Now, to be fair, the food and drinks were beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The flavors were on point, and visually, everything looked great. But it's hard to appreciate good food and feel like you're in a fine dining establishment when you're eating in such an uncomfortable setup. For a bill that totaled over $1,500, we expected more.. better service, better seating, and a more consistent sense of luxury. Especially since the restaurant asks guests to "dress to impress", yet I noticed several people in jeans and sneakers being let in without question. So I'm not sure how they pick and choose, when I read other reviews of people being turned away from not adhering to the dress code. Also, one of my guests brought a camera for the occasion and he was told he was not allowed to take photos even though we just stayed in our corner. But every table had cell phones out taking pictures, so I'm not sure what that was about. I ordered the tomahawk steak, while it was very tender and flavorful, I did not finish all of it, and I wanted to bring the rest home to my dog. I was told they did not have any to go boxes. Considering it is one of the more pricier items on the menu, I was not going to leave it there on that plate. And I put it in one of my birthday bags. Hahaha. Not my proudest moment, but what's a girl to do? I paid for it and I love my dog. It felt like the standards were applied inconsistently, and the overall experience didn't live up to the image Cataluna tries to project. It took me a while to write this review because I truly wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. My guests and I made the best of it, enjoyed each other's company, and tried to laugh it off, but it's not the experience you want for a special occasion. I hope the team at Cataluna reads this and takes it as constructive feedback, because the potential is absolutely there: stunning ambiance, good food, and creative drinks. They just need to match that beauty with genuine hospitality and attention to detail.

This was an elite dining experience! A group of 6 of us came to celebrate my best friends birthday and it was the perfect place! Everyone enjoyed their cocktails, the food was spectacular, and the overall vibe was great! The inside is very aesthetically pleasing and at a certain time every table was given sparklers, the dj started playing, and dancers came out! It was electric! Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. I ordered the scallop risotto and it was one of the best dishes I have had in a while! All of the appetizers that the table ordered were really good as well! I have already recommended this place to friends and surely plan to return.

I've been to Cataluna three times this year, and it's easily become my favorite restaurant. The ambiance, music, and drinks are all incredible, with plenty of cute photo spots and a lively yet relaxed vibe. The food is to die for and the menu changes frequently with fun seasonal items. Friday nights are perfect for a date night or an anniversary dinner. On another visit, the staff made sure my friend's birthday was super special with sparklers and amazing service. Every visit has been a true 10/10 experience, and I can't wait to go back!

We went on a weekday for dinner. They are located in a plaza with free parking. We loved the ambiance as it felt upscale with indirect lighting and upscale furnishing. Our waiter was attentive and prompt. We were promptly seated and ordered a variety of small plates shown in the pics. We were happy with everything with the exception of the lamb which seemed tough we were impressed with the live entertainment. I would recommend this place for a date night .

I think it can be fun to go to Cataluna for drinks, a few appeys, hang out with friends / family while listening to what live music / entertainment, and just enjoy the beautifully decorated space. Hubby and I gave it a try and did enjoy the experience. We liked the space, the service, the atmosphere, but honestly, the food was probably the weakest link. We each ordered a cocktail (not bad), shared an appetizer (grilled octopus, good), and for entrees, I trie the scollops (not great) and hubby tried the lamb chops (not bad). We also had a couple of sides (crispy Brussel sprouts and truffle fries, both were ok). So overall, while I am not eager to go back to Cataluna, but I do believe that for special occasions, it can be fun to dress up, go enjoy the music, have a couple of cocktails and snack on a few dishes.

This was absolutely the best restaurant experience I've ever encountered. They start you off with complementary champion to prepare your taste buds. The food itself was pretty good. The service was astonishing. We were grateful to have John as our waiter, who was best accommodating. After a certain time, it turns to an after hours spot at the bar area, which is nice to catch a quick dance if you're in the mood. They bring around sparklers to all patrons during this time as well. The interior decor is beautiful and lighted perfectly. If you are ever in Jacksonville, you have to visit!

5-stars, for sure. Their place is absolutely on Fleek. Valet parking, exquisite decor, and a fire dancing performer all add +++ to the atmosphere. Along with stellar food and attentive staff, they had a great wine selection. We had the bruschetta, a cucumber-tomato salad, Seabass, salmon, and the flambé for dessert. Everything was just perfect. If the prices don't scare you, I would highly recommend, I felt it was totally worth it. *hidden gem*

Well, I have to say that this restaurant can compete with the best in NYC, New Haven, and Providence or Boston! First and foremost, the service was top notch. The attentiveness and efficiency of our waiter was the best, but to top it off, 2 of the owners each came to the table to check on things. This is something that stands out today. I love it. The atmosphere was comfortable yet refined and the place is very clean. The dim lighting is a point that my wife appreciates in a restaurant setting, but our seats were probably the least lit, (our backs to the front window) and our old eyes needed our phone lights to read the menu, haha. The Arancini was perfect and we loved the marinara. My veal dish was magnificent with it's perfectly cooked, large and very tender cutlet. My wife fully enjoyed the Pappardelle con Vongole nero and I thought it was phenomenal. We can't wait to visit the best Italian restaurant in JAX again, when we return in October.

I had heard about the Pear Fiocchi and decided to give it a try. OH MY WORD! The balance of sweet, savory and salty is just perfect! Wasn't sure if I'd like the mix of Gorgonzola and goat cheese but it really is one of the most delicious Alfredo type sauces I've had. And I really loved that it was not over sauced. The crispy bits of Prosciutto di Parma were the best topping! My hubby and I sat at the bar. He had the clams and being a bit of a clam snob, he really enjoyed his dish! This is a busy little place but worth the wait. It's not crazy loud even though it's a small, intimate, busy restaurant. Mark and Ryan were so attentive and friendly. If you haven't been, you really should go. Sit at the bar! Make new friends!

Having said that what an awesome way to end my birthday with this amazing dinner that I had at this place. One of the best Italian restaurants in Jacksonville I must say. As soon as me and my wife walked in to the restaurant we were greeted and sat right away. The ambiance of this restaurant is truly amazing and very Italian vibe. We were greeted by our server MORGAN who was fantastic from beginning to the end. She suggested some incredible stuff that as a vegetarian I tried and was just amazing. For drinks we had mojito and pinacolada which was nice and refreshing. For appetiser we were recommended with Pomodoro Caprese which was amazing especially their Pesto sauce. For my entree she suggested me Luingini Josephine which was unique and nice pasta. Morgan surprised me with a dessert which was very kind of her. Overall this family owned small business is an amazing must try Italian restaurant. I can't wait to back and try more stuff. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Initially, we were going to Coopers Hawk, but forgot we had to make a reservation a year prior. We were told a 2 hour wait! That is wild given how big the place is. But again it is a Saturday night, and people were smarter than us and made reservations, and thus we left. After giving the news to ogre she full on had a rage attack in the parking lot screaming for those classic Coopers Hawk egg rolls. While we were consoling her I heard a soothing sound coming from behind the restaurant and we landed in front of Enzo's. We were greeted by the kindest owner ever who thankfully along with the help of her staff got us in with no wait, given how packed it was.. We were greeted by a very nice waiter who seemed all over the place though. I think he was definitely new, and was forgetful at times.. Anyways! We got three apps which were all fried stuff. Fried ravioli, Fried mozzarella sticks, Fried calamari. Honestly looking back kind of gross.. but they were solid tasting! Nothing out of the park at all on the apps just your standard.. a little tasteless on the calamari, but then again I had like 3-4 pieces because the ogre consumed them.. but then I got clarification from my good buddy bezos that it was kind of tasteless. The most tastiest was the fried mozzarella! Which shouldn't happen. Onto the entrees! Actually wait side reference note I initially ordered mussels with linguini. It was the worst dish of seafood and pasta I have ever had. I literally NEVER send stuff back, like literally never.. it feels inconsiderate and I feel like a bother even if it is just a little edible I would eat it with no complaints but I literally could not. It was so fishy I am now writing this nauseous. Some of the mussels were also closed, cold or broken.. it was just very very poor and I'm mad I had three mussels. The first one was crazy fishy, but I gave it another shot and then another, because I believe in second and third chances. But no, I was grossed out. Not to mention consuming all the fried prior. I also ordered a soup that was forgotten, and didn't get my cocktail sauce, but not really an issue if the dish was made to torture people with. Eventually I did get my soup and it wasn't bad! But now onto the entrees! Bezos: Chicken francese Tragic: veal parm Ogre: Chicken parm Doctor B Wife: Chicken Caprese Me: after the swap I got Veal Parm (thanks tragic) Oh and we had some garlic bread, but it needed some sauce or added flavor with it idk.. Reviews! Ogre: The chicken was good Wife: Mid Bezos: *yawn* ummmm Tragic: Italian stallion Me: the veal was solid, but that dish was so bad before that I lost all my appetite and I am just bleh.. and our waiter seemed a little lost.. again nice guy but come on. All in all we are grateful we were taken in by Enzo's and that owner seemed like she was a hardworking person that definitely can inspire her staff. I loved the piano playing, and the environment was really pleasant. Although me personally I disagree with the food, that dish was the worst ever, and our waiter again although nice was extremely forgetful. I feel sick to my stomach and I probably am going to vomit. But thank you again you gave us a good night and a place to eat..

It can get a bit busy, but the amazing food and ambiance make it worth it. The staff is always incredibly sweet and truly makes you feel cared for. One time, my family came here with our cousin, who is autistic. We were seated in the back room, where the sound echoed and was a little loud. The manager approached us and offered to move us to a quieter area of the restaurant, and even offered to provide headphones for my cousin. It was one of the best experiences we've ever had at a restaurant, especially considering that dining out can be challenging if the environment is too overstimulating. I love seeing inclusivity in restaurants, and this encounter will forever be one of my sweetest core memories. Thank you, Prati!

I had the very simple rigatoni bolognese. Pasta was cooked to a perfect al dente and the sauce was really good. It was a little on the sweet side for me, but tasted pretty fresh! They also brought us out an "on the house" mushroom appetizer that was delicious. If you like mushrooms, get it! I also sampled the lobster ravioli (on special) and enjoyed it. I am not a huge lobster anything fan, but even I thought it was pretty good! I also had a glass of the house red wine blend they have and that was one of the best house wines I've had in a long time! Super smooth. Teeniest bit sweet. No aftertaste at all. The service was wonderful. Our waitress was attentive and very knowledgeable and just generally great. I had only sat in the bar area previously and thought it could get a little loud but I felt less so about the restaurant itself. The tables are nicely spaced from each other so you have your privacy. My only complaint (and not really a complaint a just a warning so no one is surprised if it comes up... ) is that they charge a $30 cake fee if you bring your own cake. It's just a little bit of a bummer, but I totally understand why. They were super polite about it when I called. Anyhow... food and service was great. Would go again!

The bread wasn't my personal favorite since I usually prefer warm bread with oil and vinegar, and this was served room‑temperature with butter. My entrée (Chicken Alla Toscana - pictured) was delicious, though I did add a little salt and crushed red pepper to suit my taste. Dessert was very good as well; the Italian cream cake was yummy, though the almond extract flavor was a bit strong for me. Overall, a lovely experience and I would happily return.

I was able to find the space out front just has a car was pulling out so that's a good sign. I had already made a reservation just in case or 1130 and luckily there wasn't a whole lot of people in there. We were sat in the middle of the restaurant slightly away from the bar at a half booth half chair table. Our server Aldan was wonderful and I loved his curled blonde hair. We started off with drinks and I got the Espresso Martini, piggybacking off my friend and because I wanted something to help wake me up. This is delicious and it looked beautiful. I was going to get something brunchy but instead to eat I got the Crab & Shrimp Alfredo (spaghetti, butter sauce, fine herbs, focaccia breadcrumbs) while my friend got their Rigatoni (Calabrian vodka sauce, pecorino romano). OMG I don't even like alfredo sauce like that but I was blown away. That was perhaps the best alfredo sauce I've ever had, super creamy with fresh seafood. Her rigatoni...I wasn't expecting much from it but that Calabrian sauce kicked it up a notch and brought the right amount of heat. That was delicious. She didn't get another drink but I did, the Summer Serenade (camarena resposado, luxardo marachino, d'aristi xtabentun liqueur, lavender, lemon). Wow, that one is small but powerful. It was a good after lunch drink. I only got it because it had lavender and lemon in it and didn't recognize the liquor or the liqueur but holy crap. That's a good floral drink. They let us hang out for the rest of their brunch hours and kept checking in with us, which was nice because we were trying to play catch up on everything. I really enjoyed our time there and would definitely love to come back. FYI, I found out that they do weddings there. They have event space in the back.

My espresso martini was not good, and the service overall wasn't great. The biggest issue, though, was the seating. We were the first ones sat in the room and were placed directly under an AC vent set to 60 degrees -- with two babies. We politely asked to be moved, but our request was ignored. We were all freezing the entire time, and it honestly took away from what could have been a much better first experience.
