My last experience lived up to the Texas Roadhouse hype. I opted for the smothered chicken - gravy, not cheese, and it was excellent. I rarely order chicken when dining out unless it's wings or fingers. To be honest I rarely order steak either as I find myself usually disappointed unless it's some higher end steak place. This visit was spot on - busy as usual - even for a Monday night. Service was fast and friendly, rolls were fresh and plentiful, and my entree was great. I would not hesitate to order that chicken again. I will add that my son's 12 oz. ribeye appeared to be overdone. He didn't mention it but ended up with some leftovers for the dogs. We're just not keen on sending back food to the kitchen based on the horror stories we've heard in general but in this case, it would've been justified based on what I saw. Went to this Town Center location for the first time in a while and it was even better than the last. Service was super fast and friendly and the food came out super fast and every order was delivered correctly. Rolls were delivered hot and fresh with their delicious butter. Can't beat the consistency and the value for a family meal. The wait time was not too bad we got there early enough however the line was quite long when we left. The hostess and I wished I got her name was outstanding! Very pleasant young lady who was communicative and friendly Our server, though I did not get his name was nice enough. Not as communicative but polite. My friend had the fillet which he very much enjoyed. He asked for it on the medium well side, but it came out a little too pink. If you ask me, however it was the one eating it. It did look very juicy. I had the chicken which I have to say very sadly was extremely extremely and worth a third repeat extremely salty. Salty enough that I knew I could not eat it. The waiter was very kind asked me if I wanted something else and I said no the vegetables were sufficient. The manager visited our table when we first got there, and then when she learned of the chicken and like the waiter, she too, offered the opportunity for something else. Went here a few days ago. I wanted to state that this location used to be my favorite, however after the past three times going I unfortunately have to state that isn't really the case anymore. Went with a group of 4 and ordered a filet and asked for extra seasoning on the steak, ended up coming out with no seasoning and rare when I ordered medium, whatever not the biggest deal. Asked for a cook up. Ended up coming back rare- medium rare. The manager looked me dead in the eyes and told me it was medium pushing medium well (fully red center btw), and said she could cook it up to medium well if I wasn't happy with it. If that's what she deemed medium, almost mid well I didn't want her touching the steak anymore in all honesty and told her I would just cook it up at home. One of the only reasons I was so nit picky on the cook is due to pregnancy and if I'm already paying $30 for a steak the managers should know how to tell the temps on it. Server was amazing and brought a bunch of bread and was very attentive on the drinks as well. None of this review is to reflect on the service, just the kitchen. I feel like the past few months this location has been slipping in terms of the quality of the steaks which makes me sad because it truly was one of my favorite steak houses. Texas Roadhouse is one of my family's favorite places to frequent. The food is ALWAYS delicious and the service is beyond expectation when seated at the bar! This visit was just that! I wish I could remember our bartender's name but it is only listed as PM BAR. I always like to recognize the most memorable servers if I can! This time, I'll just give the entire bar staff all the props! I can honestly say that I've never received my meal with any part of it incorrectly made when being seated at the bar! I don't know if it's that fact that patrons are in a closer proximity to the bartender when the order is being taken (they can hear the order more clearly) or if they are just more attentive in general. This location seems to be the cleanest location in Jacksonville, as well. I never have to brush food from the seats in the booth or re-clean the table top/bar top before touching it. That's a BIG thing for my family with all the children we have joining us. Outback used to be my favorite steakhouse.... That would've NEVER happened had Texas Roadhouse been around 20-30 years ago! Always a great meal and fast, friendly service here. The rolls were hot and fresh as ever, the rattle snake bites (fried jack cheese with diced jalepenos) were tasty and enjoyable with the right amount of heat, the side salad was just right (no egg), the 8oz sirloin with onions and mushrooms was perfect and the loaded baked potato was perfect as well. This was way too much food to eat in one sitting so I enjoyed the potato and some rolls as leftovers the next day. The half and half sweet/unsweet tea went perfectly with my meal and they weren't too crowded around 3:30 on a weekday. As well the food but idk yesterday experience for me was whoa due to the fact that the server put the food under the wrong table which when the other server who was bringing the food out was confuse and walked away with it. As well 10-20mins of us eating our meal our server asked if we needed boxes....... If I was gonna get rush to finish my meal I might as well stayed at home. And when it came to pay the kiosk that had the payment wasn't on the table but the table in front of us which I had to grab myself to check out So we tried : Grilled salmon - 10/10 nothing to complain about 6oz sirloin with grilled shrimp - 7/10 grilled shrimp had no flavor..... the sirloin looked a bit medium well done when I cut it open. We had not been to a Texas Roadhouse for several years. We decided to give it another try and boy were we glad we did. We got there early so there was no wait. Our waiter Tristan was excellent! He was very attentive & gave great information. We all had the prime rib and it was excellent. Cooked just as ordered & so tender. The salads were fresh & the dressings tasty. We try to go on a regular basis about once a week, wife likes prime rib rare or medium rare, they say only have medium rare and bring out medium well, always over cooked and this time loaded with unbeatable amount of salt, discussed this with a manager who argued that the always have rare or medium and just rum out, which was a lie as we are always early and they never have it, usuall wife changes to rib eye but today she just decided to send back and eat a salad!! I discussed with manager this happens always and she just ignores it and was not concerned enough to ever have the kitchen manager fix it! This is about the Town Center Tropea locatio. We like to sit at the bar. I have never seen this place so dirty. We come here a fair amount of time and it's NEVER unkept. One bartender came to watch the other bartender work. One bartender turned the wash water on and walked away. The bartender who came to watch, watched the sinks overflow!! When the other bartender came back she called it to her attention as she stood staring into space. We came for a free appetizer. The onion app was good. No one asked if we wanted to order anything else. We were full so it didn't really matter. The manager/lead (I think it's her title) didn't seem to notice the mess. I couldn't read her shirt. Maybe I misunderstood but, then the staring bartender was going to let new patrons sit in the mess. I literally had to yell at her to stop and clean the area!! The bathroom was a hot mess. The garbage was overflowing. One toilet wouldn't flush and was full of excrement. The other two BARELY flushed. This place ain't right anymore. My family and I came in this past weekend. We had tried to visit weeks before but were surprised to find out that this restaurant gets really busy, like 1-hour wait busy. This time we made use of the waitlist on the website. We only waited a few minutes around dinner time. The ambiance was busy. It was pretty jam packed at 530PM but the service was great. Our server was very attentive and nice. The food was perfectly fine. Both my wife and I ordered steaks that came out as we had hoped. Our sides were fine as well but the true stars are the bread rolls with cinnamon butter. That ish is crack! One item I really disliked was the missing prices on drinks. I wasn't really interested in drinking but I dislike when prices are not listed at an establishment. Parking here can also be a bit of a pain. We are pretty much regulars at Texas Roadhouse's elsewhere, but this visit at this location was HORRIBLE. Firstly, the waitress Masey, I believe, brought us the incorrect menu items a couple times after taking our order. One was a sandwich with no cheeses because one of our party cannot consume cheese as part of her diet. So the sandwich comes out with cheese. Now we're all eating expect for one family member who had to sit there and wait for the correct food to come back out. Second, I ordered a burger with the included fries and a House Salad. The burger comes out on a plate all by its lonely self. No fries to accompany it. When I inquired about it the waitress tell me that the salad is the side in place of the fries. I said no. I would like the fries and simply ordered a house salad in addition to the burger. So now I had to wait for the fries to come while the other family member was still waiting on her sandwich while everyone else was eating. Now once it all comes, I will mention the taste of the burger. Almost inedible due to the amount of salt in it. It was ridiculously salty, and the same with the fries. Why??? From other reviews I see I'm not the only one who mentions they really salt up the steaks, and other food items. Baked potato was loaded with salt as well. Our 4 year old couldn't eat his fries due to the salt content. One more issue to mention. So the Manager Lilly comes around as they usually do to greet the table and give their scripted 10 second welcome. That's fine expect this time, Lilly didn't make eye contact with anyone and just stared out the window while reciting her what sounded like a practiced script.
