So picture a dive bar has a baby with a Piccadilly buffet! That's this place and it's amazing. No frills-check, clean tables-check, friendly staff-double check One price and eat away! The fried chicken was amazing, Mac n cheese -delicious-corn bread, very good, green beans, green gotta eat something green. Wait.....gravy!!! You name it, it was on this country buffet There was also a salad bar and a dessert area. If your coming for atmosphere head on past this strip mall country buffet, but if your coming for some delicious food this is the place. Now I did ask about the all over the place reviews and the waitress said they had been working out some kinks and it all good now. Fruits and vegetables all seem to be from a can. Food is not always fresh and more often than naught, there are empty containers where food may have been previously. When there is food, it's either unseasoned or caked in salt. Servers are usually doing the best they can with what is available and is the only reason they don't get 1 star. The floor is not even and is coming up in places, causing a tripping hazard. There's always plenty of parking available in the public lot. The decor is country style, without too much fuss put into it. Appears to be good for groups of older individuals. Individual ice cream cups and salad bar included in the buffet. UPDATE: They did a really good job the day they opened. They have gone consistently downhill since. They close at 8 but stop putting anything that runs out back on the bar between 5:30 and 6. One night they have salisbury steak. It is the only decent meat that day and it shows. If they put a pan out people load up because they know it will be a while before anymore comes out. If you are OK with just chickem (your choice of baked or fried) you might be happy but I have just eaten there to many times when they were out of anything else. Yesterday was the final straw. I got some kind of potato casserole or something. It was COLD to the touch. I thought maybe there was a mistake and I told the manager, owner whoever the guy is that watches the bar. He said "yeah they probably took it out a few minutes to early". Never checked the temp or changed it. He just left it there. My wife bit into a chicken breast that was still red inside. We will not be back. I gave them the very first 5 star review when they opened but I have to take it away. read more

The staff is nice and welcoming. The price was reasonable. Similar to other reviews, the wait for drinks took longer than it should, for as busy as they were. I had dinner in a Monday evening with my husband and teenage son. The salad bar had limited selection. There were only two meat options (chicken and cube steak). Chicken was overcooked and dry. Mash potatoes were lumpy and dry. Corn bread was cold and too soft to melt butter. I like the disposable plates because I wasn't eating off of a dirty plate, however my husband did not like eating home style food of a plastic or styrofoam plate because he wasn't at a picnic. For a buffet in a town the size of Callahan, it was good. In a larger area, I would have only given one star. read more

Tried B-Macs newest buffet in Callahan. We paid for dinner buffet and there were plenty of fried food options but only baked chicken was a healthy option which was good but the vegetables were bland. The blackeyed peas were over done with onions all you could taste was onion. Green beans had no seasoning. Salad bar was warm versus chilled (disappointing). Tea was good, service was great but the foods were less than desirable. We will pass in the future. A great restaurant to go with your old folks. The ham on this place in great, a light sweet and a light-dark savory flavor. The staff is pretty nice, they will sometimes pat you on the back and they are very kind and talkative. The ambiance of the restaurant is full of American patriotic and Baptist decor. read more

2024-03-13. Just mediocre food at best. Second time trying this place since we thought maybe the first time was a fluke but it wasn't. The service was fine and the employees were all friendly both times. The problem is the food. The food isn't bad but it isn't good either. EVERYTHING we tried that was fried was way over cooked, was all dark brown and fried to death. The fried chicken was super cooked so the outside was not good at all, meat inside was ok just cooked dry. Fried squash, onion rings, fries etc. were also over cooked. We ended up talking about the best way to describe the food would be "everything tasted like it was dumped out of a can and warmed up." After these two times we all decided not to eat here anymore, at least no time soon. read more

First, let me say that I'm glad Callahan FINALLY is getting another restaurant that isn't totally chicken-based or fast food. That said, the type of food they have seemed a bit blah. It tasted better than I expected, but there was just no wow factor. The staff were very nice. The decor was in that same depressing, LED lit style and color of Sheik across the street. Not very warm or inviting, had the feeling of a county fair chow hall. The price was reasonable for what you get, but the trade off is paper plates. I wasn't a fan of most of the items on the buffet (a personal preference) but by comparison, I would have probably paid the same amount for a burger combo at a fast food place up the street and this was home cooked. Wife and l have been regular customers since opening. No complaints until today. We both ate meals 23.00$ and change. No big deal wife could note finish 3 barbq chicken wings ask for box. I had eaten 1 regular serving each with tea. We asked for box for chicken wings and was charged 11.00$ for Styrofoam bowl size of my hand. We were not informed of this and told to go to cashier. My wife to nice to say NO that not fair. We were charged as much for 1 Styrofoam bowl as we were for our meals. Last visit to this place. I was NOT looking to set myself with another meal, just my very modest leftovers. Good luck BMac. It's been nice. Food only fair. Service and help great.
