Everything here is frozen, canned, or "just add water". The buffet was not fresh with many of the items being so stale I spit it out. I don't know why people eat here. Maybe they don't know any better. read more

Spent $50 for Friday night buffet. More than half the items on the buffet were empty for the hour I was there. Fried shrimp too salty to eat. Couldn't identify what some of the items were. We are locals from Camden County, GA. We wanted some good ole home cooking so we headed to Folkston. We got to the infamous OKEFENOKEE Restaurant before the 3pm cut off for the lunch buffet, And because of that, the buffet was nearly depleted of several foods.. The mashed taters are instant. The tomatoes & rice tasted rank. There was no fried chicken when we arrived, had to wait :18minutes for a fresh batch. The dressing looked so dry and when I went to get a scoop, it was stuck to the bottom of the pan. It's not like it used to be years ago. read more

I have not been in a while and went today but was very disappointed. It is a southern cooking buffet but most of the items were gone or almost gone and was not replenished timely. The servers and cleanliness of the place was not up to par. They could have been short handed causing the problems because there was a now hiring sign on the door. read more

If you like old southern cooking this place is great ! We came there Friday and the Buffett was seafood theme, then we came on Sunday and it was fried chicken Mac and cheese all the southern side chicken and dumplings and of course salad options. This place is great and the servers come by and check on you frequently. My only concern is if you look it up it says it is closed today which it wasn't. read more

Basic country cooking served buffet style that is nothing to get too excited about. I thought the fried fish was good, the fried shrimp okay, the fried pork chop bland, and the chicken tenders tough and hard to eat. Did I mention fried? I love the hole in the wall atmosphere and the friendly service. We also ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and onion rings off the menu. Besides taking a very long time to arrive, the grilled cheese was just processed cheese and grilled white bread. The onion rings were so greasy that they were difficult to eat. If you are looking to fill your belly and your not to picky about the quality, this is the place for you. read more

For the price I paid, the food was pretty good, albeit there is simply no way I could eat here every day. They have two buffets, a breakfast buffet and a dinner buffet. Both of them are like eating at Cracker Barrel, but if they had a buffet, with all the southern eats I know too well. Everything is fried and deep fried and delicious to a fault. Thankfully I do not live here, otherwise I do not think I would make it to 30. If you are in Folkston stopping here is a must. You and your stomach will be happy for doing such a thing. read more

The interior and atmosphere is nice and welcoming the hostess was very nice and seated us quickly and the waitress was very attentive and friendly. The food on the other hand is not good at all dry unseasoned chicken, watery and bland gravy ,what tasted like instant mashed potatoes and unseasoned collard greens. If you want good southern food this is not your place but the service really tries it's best to make up for the extremely mediocre food. read more

There aren't a lot of places to eat around here and if you're curious, like me, this buffet is a good stop. Being from the midwest, there are many southern foods I haven't had but love to try. Buffets allow me to try these things without investing in one thing I might not like. Like grits. I just can't make myself love them. :( I'm not sure how much it cost but I remember it was really cheap. I came later in the afternoon so I think I was in the late lunch too early for dinner stretch so the food was older. Not bad at all. Just not super fresh or super hot. I didn't really mind. I just wanted to taste. I got my fair share of southern delicacies I've never or rarely experienced, including grits, greens, beans, cornbread, fried chicken, mashed taters and mmmhmmm fatback (fried fat). Even the chicken gravy was a little different and had chunks of eggs in it. The atmosphere was just fine. It feels kind of like a diner and you can tell a lot of locals eat here. And since I was seated in a big booth all by myself, I got a few weird looks. read more

Passing through the area on April 15, 2022 (Good Friday), I searched Yelp for seafood restaurants in the area and this establishment pops up with 4.76 * I decided to stop and see that they have to offer. I must have missed it in the fine print but I do not recall reading this is a buffet style establishment. The food choice, quality and presentation was poor and the only protein that was available was fried chicken. MEAT ON ONE OF THE HOLIEST DAYS IN LENT? I don't think so. I asked if they had any type of seafood and was told the fried fish fillet will be ready shortly. I waited for approximately 15 minutes before the brought out the fish and it was nothing special. I used to go in here every weekend for breakfast bar. One weekend the food was not good. It tasted like it was left over from days. The eggs tasted like fake eggs. bacon was so greasy that it made me sick. One day I was fixing my plate of food and seen a roach. It crawled out from the kitchen. This is just nasty. I was in there one day and I see the owner downgraded one of her employees. This is just not good work ethics. You do not have your customer to have to witness that. They are there to enjoy their food and not see roaches and drama. There has been time I have been in there the bar was empty (Meats mainly) and the food was dry like they do not keep it stirred. When they refresh their bar, they put the new on top of the old. For all of this to be happening that is such poor management. I was a faithful customer now I would not even let my dog eat their food..... If you do stop in please be cautious. read more

We always stop in for early lunch on Saturday i was looking forward to the salad bar But this time the salad bar had hair in the broccoli well my lunch was over. Updated review from a few years ago. Anytime we are headed north from Jacksonville we try to get to Folkston for a visit to one of my favorite restaurants. Still a great buffet even with the COVID-19 restrictions. They are obviously careful with social distancing and mask but the quality of food and great, friendly service has not suffered. As always, great county cooking with that small town, friendly, at home atmosphere. read more

Hot, fresh selections of mash potatoes, black eyed peas, fried okra, fried fish and shrimp, fried chicken, hamburger steak...the list goes on. They also have a full sandwich menu and will even cook a fresh ribeye steak to your liking on the grill! A very friendly staff that is very welcoming...makes you feel at home!
