Best fried chicken anywhere. Try the pork chops and the okra! I usually get the tenders.

Afternoon food is tasty. The fried chicken was crisp and moist. Fries were fresh cooked. A nice family owned place.

The amazing fried chicken aroma both outside and inside the restaurant are almost like an appetizer in itself.

We were greeted immediately upon entering. Everyone was nice. *Patio is cool with the large tree growing in the middle of it. * All 3 of us got a variation of the jerked chicken. * Jerked chicken tostadas were just flavorful and delicious. *Calypso nachos with the jerked chicken, the pineapple paired well and just good nachos. *Pac-rim salad with jerked chicken, big serving and a nice crunch with the cabbage Cole slaw paired with a peanut vinaigrette and the jerked chicken. Delicious. * Our serve was attentive but not over burdening. Checked in, was super pleasant, just darn right nice. *Chocolate bread pudding was recommend and it was moist and warm with a good scoop of vanilla ice cream. The caramel drizzle was the highlight for me. What could of been better: *A me thing for nachos, when piled high the bottom gets soggy before you can enjoy them. Great visit, want to come back and try some other items.

What a great place. The food is always delicious and service is always great. Inside is nice but it…read moreis a small place. If it is warm out, sit on their outdoor patio under the tree. I actually ended up going there twice this week- once for lunch and once for dinner. For lunch I had their Bombay chicken salad where the chicken is curried and on top of a cabbage slaw with a bright citrus vinaigrette. 3 small pieces of flatbread accompanied the salad along with a Fruit chutney that tasted like apple pie. I ordered an additional side of flatbread which came warm and was quite good with the chutney. The curry chicken is outstanding so I was tempted to have it for dinner later that week but decided to try their Bahamian curry which was excellent- a bowl of rice with curried chicken, sweet potato and kale. My husband had the special which was Mahi mahi Marsala and he raved about it. If that is on the menu next time I will definitely get it. The restaurant knows how to spice their food so definitely check it out. They do not take reservations but turnover seems to be pretty quick particularly at lunch.

This is the second experience that I've had a Whiskey Cakes…read more My first was in Round Rock, Texas. Last night, was The Town center in Jax. Both were consistently amazing! The food and service were impeccable!!! Having tried both places, that enabled me to try several different dishes. My recommendations for appetizers, The fried green tomatoes, and the deviled eggs (it will be a surprise as to which one you get, they change.) we had the scallion and barbecue. The goat cheese fondue was delicious as well. I've had the steak salad for dinner as well as the Reuben. Whatever you get, you're gonna be eating well and leaving happy! As for ambiance, it's busy and fun. Which makes it loud. Not a great place for a "romantic evening" but more for a fun, laughter filled night.

The service was not very good. 3 of the four drinks were right. They got a bottled beer wrong?…read more Then we asked for another beer and when they brought it out they did not open it and it wasn't a twist top. Salad was forgotten then ran out after asking more than once. 3 Chicken melts and one my strip steak took over an hour for a restaurant that was not busy. When the food came out, only two of the four meals came out. The other two meals were delayed by more than 10 min. when they came out one of the chicken melts was wrong and the Mac and cheese (which was an up charge) was cold. The steak was brought out without a steak knife, and we had to get up to ask for one. Not to mention the waitress never checked on us. Our order consisted of: 2 Raspberry Bourbon Mules one Old forester old fashioned bottle of beer Starter was an order of deviled eggs (which were ok). For dinner 3 chicken melts and one NY Strip. On a positive note the manager came out twice to check in on us, but I promise I wont be back. No photos taken (which is a first for me) but honestly it wasn't worth my time as we obviously were not worth Whiskey Cakes Time. Update at the end the manager did come by and took items off our bill. He was very apologetic.

The host greeted us warmly, quickly found our reservation, and showed us to our table in the lounge area. It was busy with lots of people (as expected on Valentine's), but the noise level was still comfortable. The wait staff was fantastic -- super kind, attentive, and helpful throughout the evening. We started with a bottle of Albariño, caviar, and I had the soup, which was absolutely out-of-this-world delicious. For my entrée, I selected the Valentine's preset menu, which included the soup, a perfectly cooked NY strip, and a dessert that was outstanding. I actually told them that dessert needs to be added to the regular menu -- it was that good, even if it was just a one-night special. My husband ordered the scallops and was very pleased -- he said we definitely need to come back again. It's definitely a place to celebrate something special. It is on the expensive side, and reservations are recommended, but the experience makes it worth it

She not only kept up with all of our shenanigans but gave it right back, which made the experience even more fun. Attentive, personable, and just a great vibe all around. We started with peach martinis (highly recommend) along with the fried okra, crab soup, wedge salad, and beet salad. Everything was fresh and full of flavor--great way to kick off the meal. For the main course we tried the flounder prepared a few different ways--one fried, one pan-seared, and one bronzed--and each one was fantastic.
