If I could give zero star, I would. After two hours, our food was still not served. Food was pricey and did not match what was served. Finally got drinks, but hardly any refills that were needed. I asked for silverware four times to no avail. My sister and brother's fish sandwich's looked awful, my stew was good, but sweet potato fries never arrived, sister n law's fried oyster salad was good, but she had to wait ten minutes for salad dressing and utensils to eat with. We will never come back. $20.00 on our meals was was deducted, but I noticed that the waiter did not remove my sweet potato fries (that never arrived)charge!!! They had to redo the darn ticket, so we could get back on the road. Also, it looked like maybe the regulars were getting waited on in a high priority manner. We all left upset and hungry. Pros:waterfront Cons:parking was tight and on a hill. High prices did not match the rank food. Waiter never remembered what I would ask for more drinks, silverware, take fries off, etc. Worst service I've experienced in my entire life. Recommend? Notta!

We've stopped here before and it's a solid food spot when traveling! The food is good and the views are better. They were busy but service was efficient and food arrive quickly!

Fun place to stop for lunch. We sat in the screened in outdoor area. It's great to be able to watch the activity on the river. Pros and cons here. Pros: view, great wait staff, smoked meats are amazing. Cons: bland grits, styrofoam cups, awful water. I do recommend-great ambience and go for the smoked meats!

First of all-I want to say that I found this place by using yelp-so BIG THANKS to the people that have posted about this restaurant! The interior and outside are absolutely beautiful-so charming! We were greeted and seated quickly-and it was a busy day here! The staff kept everything moving with grace and good cheer! My husband had the grouper platter and enjoyed it! I had 1 crab cake from the appetizer menu-and combined it with a baked potato. Both were really good! The crab cake was excellent! The perfect seasoning and tender-cooked perfectly!

Hubby and I planned a day trip up to the Brunswick area. We picked Skipper's Fish Camp for our lunch spot. We arrived and were seated within minutes. The hostess was super sweet! I ordered the fried fish and grits with collard greens as my side. Hubby ordered the fried grouper strips and French fries. Both meals came with hush puppies. I really liked my dish. The fish was flaky and lightly seasoned. The grits with cheese and bacon on top were very tasty. The collard greens had great texture and flavor. Good hush puppies, too. Hubby thought his meal was just okay. The grouper strips were a bit dry. He liked the French fries. They were fresh, crispy, and seasoned. Our server was attentive and helpful. Great staff and food. Plus they had cute cats living outside! Win, win, win!

My family and I stumbled upon Skipper's Fish Camp on our way home to Savannah and truly loved everything about it. The service was great and everybody was super nice. I loved the atmosphere, especially outside of the restaurant. It's super pretty! And the food was delicious! We will definitely be going back.

My husband enjoys coming here when he is in the area. Our family of four came around 6:30 pm on a Saturday evening and had about a 25 minute wait. The dock area is beautiful and the weather was nice, so we took time to take photos. When we were seated, our server took our drink orders quickly and food came out at a reasonable time. My kids shared a large ribeye steak which they found a little on the fatty side and six grilled shrimp (surf and turf). They got sweet potato fries which was a generous serving and cheese grits which were both devoured. My husband got the fried shrimp plate which he enjoyed. I got a baked potato which was humongous and delicious. We ended up paying in cash to avoid the 4% surcharge for credit card. So bring cash if you are budget conscious!

What a great stop on our way to southern Florida -- literally minutes off of 95 and right on the water. They have seafood and bbq so take your pick, along with a decent selection of beers on tap Hubs and I opted for the grouper sandwich (if you come on the weekend make sure you ask as it's not on the menu). Comes with one side and a good size portion. It was a beautiful November day so we opted to sit outside. Blackened Grouper sandwich with Sweet-water 420 on a beautiful day on the water. How great is that? Would definitely recommend and thank you to Jordan and the other waitstaff for taking such good care of us.

Ask the Community - Skipper's Fish Camp

Does Skipper's take reservations?Does it still have the turtle pond?

They take reservations but the oyster bar, with outdoor seating, is first come first serve. They turtle pond is there; drained and refilled everyday. There are also alligators swimming around the docks periodically, mainly during morning hours.

Is there outside seating so our dog can come too?

Yes! Skippers is very dog friendly.

There was fried fish and fried chicken on the buffet along with green beans, cabbage, Mac and cheese, rice, beans, biscuits etc with apple cobbler and ice cream for dessert. The shrimp here are excellent and always fresh. They do a dinner buffet on Friday and Saturday that has quite a bit of seafood on it as well as steaks, sausages, chicken etc. the dining room is just about always busy as it's a really popular place but the waitresses take good care of everyone. It is not a romantic spot or particularly good for small kids (crowded busy dining room with lots of people carrying buffet plates) but is perfect for people who want really good food at a good price and anyone who appreciated fresh shrimp.

I debated between shrimp and oysters and the buffet. I chose the buffet because the menu indicated there was lots of different seafood the buffet and I was hoping for some vegetables too. Big mistake. There was no oysters, no scallops and only one vegetable, green beans. There was a small salad bar, so I did have some of that. The best thing was the fried shrimp and the shrimp in the shrimp boil. The deviled crab was not good.Sigh, I paid a huge amount of money and was so disappointed. The interior has not been updated at all, which was a surprise as popular as it is. Learned a hard lesson....look at the buffet before you order it. Throughout the meal there was ongoing confusion and delays, and at one point I had to get up and grab my own silverware. The food itself was good, but it arrived lukewarm to cold. I didn't bother saying anything because I couldn't face waiting even longer. Overall, a pretty miserable experience -- hopefully an off night, because the kitchen clearly has potential. Restaurant uses mostly disposable dishware and cups. Sometimes shrink refills would come in a single used cup. It's not a fan of how much unnecessary waste was produced. The price was pretty competitive. But would have happily paid more for a better experience.

The previous time was an experience I will never forget because I had the best Prime Rib experience of my life. This time however was a complete opposite. So now we sat for an additional 15-20 minutes until our Prime Rib's appeared. And let me tell you, it wasn't worth waiting for, whatsoever.
