The scraped pile of cheese from my fish sandwich
    Austin D.

Food was very bland and unremarkable. I had a crab stew and the table gave it a taste, all agreeing they'd describe the flavor as "paste". The grilled mahi sandwich had a thick layer of cheese on it to mask the lack of seasoning and flavor. I scraped the melted pile of cheese off my sandwich and smothered it in tartar sauce to give it any semblance of flavor. Fries were good. Service was great and very friendly. Not a horrible spot but not where I want to spend $25.

Had a chance to go to the Marshside Grill in Brunswick recently. We were just in the area for the day, and wanted a nice place to eat a late lunch before heading back home to Florida. Sadly Brunswick does not have a lot of places that are on the water to take advantage of the view, but the Marshside Grill does fit this bill. While it was a beautiful day, it was a bit windy, and the smell of the swamp lands was a bit overpowering, so inside was the place to be for eating. We were tucked away in a corner, but that was a good thing in our book... less noise, and the view was quite nice. Our wait staff took our order, and I got the catfish dinner which comes with either five or eight pieces of deep fried catfish along with waffle fries. Definitely go for the eight piece, as it is the better value. The catfish was good, and the fries held up quite well. One drawback is that the batter used for the catfish is relatively thin and the catfish kind of wilts quickly. However, the big thing was something that my mother experienced... she ordered a hamburger, a pretty simple item from the menu. No extra toppings, just keeping it simple with lettuce and tomato. The hamburger is a thick restaurant style burger, which is nice but can be a bit dry. However, the failure here was the bun. The bottom half was very thin, and by the time it got to our table it was effectively complete mush from the juices from the burger patty. The top half wasn't much better. They need to seriously reconsider the type of bun being used for this burger, because the one they are currently using is not good. Overall, I would say that if you want a restaurant in Brunswick with a good water view, this is probably your best bet. However, I would not go here for excellent food. The food here is edible, and you won't be going home hungry, but don't go expecting culinary excellence.

We came for happy hour 3-8 W-Th. They offer $1 off drafts not food. We ordered cold drafts with a icy glass each time we refilled. We ordered Mahi sandwich and a combo platter. Good food. The blackened mahi was delicious with a little cheese on the top. The fries were good. Not exceptional but good. The combo platter tenders shrimp and wings were great. They had a kick and were delivered hot. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were attentive. Everyone was friendly. Prices was reasonable. Good stop.

The fried shrimp po boy with a side of spuds

First time here on a date and had a great time! The mango margarita was delicious. We had the fried mushrooms as an appetizer, and they were amazing. Definitely get them with an extra side of ranch! I tried the fried shrimp po boy with a side of spuds for my entrée, and it did NOT miss. You have to try the spuds! I thought I was a fan of french fries but forget all that lol. Get the spuds, and thank me later. My date tried the grouper basket with a side of spuds. It was fantastic! Flaky, buttery soft, and freshly fried. I highly recommend the fried fish, they know what they're doing back there. The menu had a bit of everything. If I lived closer, I would absolutely come back to try the different varieties of fish they offer. Brandy took care of us at the bar, and the service was fantastic. Would highly recommend this place! Check them out if you're in the neighborhood.

Marshside Grill is a beautiful ocean side restaurant located in amazing Brunswick Ga. Food is so fresh and perfectly seasoned! These boys n girls know their seafood! Offers inside and outside seating. Staff are kind and welcoming, like Southern folks are! Music is a bit loud outside but other than that it's pretty dang great!

The only two good things about this place was our server and the view. Also it's dog friendly. The steak bites were not what I excepted. I thought it'd be breaded or something. It was extremely over seasoned and chewy. The stew is a chowder, not a stew. Unless that's how you make stews here in the south. My dad ordered it for me. I did not order it. The full moon platter or whatever it was called was decent. My dad recommended this place because him and his friends from work come here for lunch sometimes. Definitely not my cup of tea.

Becca taking care of one of our many tables full of family.

Food is very good and the menu offers many good choices. Service is prompt. Looking out over the water as you eat is also a plus.

Because the restaurant is downtown there is plenty of free street parking spaces right outside the door. There is a bar, with bar seating, The other seating consisted of normal table with hard back chairs, and couches that ran down the side of the wall with tables, and hard back chairs on the other side. Overall, the service was adequate, not good, and certainly not great, but good enough not to stop us from enjoying our night out. I started with what was supposed to be a cup of Tomato Bisque but received and paid for a bowl. Somewhat my fault for not realizing that my serving and what I paid for was large and more expensive than the cup I ordered. With that said, I thought the flavor of the bisque served with, Garlic Buttered Crostini, and grated Smoked Gouda was outstanding. The temperature could have been a bit warmer, but again the flavor was sport on. The wife and I split a very large bowl of PEI Mussels. The Mussels were served in a white wine broth with Shallots, Garlic, Roasted Tomatoes, and Bacon. Honestly, I could and did finish the broth off as a soup. There were quite a few Mussels that did not open, but the bowl was so large, we wouldn't have eaten them anyway. The wife's main dish was the Pan Seared Sea Scallops, with peach and bacon risotto, and fresh Spinach. The dish was finished with an amazing Bourbon Peach Brown Butter Reduction. The scallops were large, the Risotto was great, but the brown butter reduction was the absolute star of the dish. For my main dish I had the Curried Lamb Lollipops, served over Cilantro Basmati Rice, and roasted Tomatoes with an excellent curry sauce. The chops were of good size and cooked to perfection. And please don't even get me started on the fired Garlic Butter Paratha which is some of the best bread I have ever had. My mistake was ordering a side of the Peach and Bacon Risotto similar to what was served with the scallop dish. Without the Bourbon Peach Brown Butter Reduction however, the risotto ate a little dry and had little to no peach flavor. I finished my meal with a bourbon , Mascarpone, bread pudding, which was amazing. The dish was loaded with bourbon which both my wife and I agreed was not completely cooked off. Great dish to finish an outstanding meal. Even with a few minor missteps, the overall flavor of the dishes were so good, I still must give it an overall 5.

We especially loved the shareable feasts. Such a nice touch that they bring out a complimentary shrimp sampler with your drinks while you wait! The service was exceptional. The restaurant was spotless, beautifully decorated, and the background music created a relaxed vibe. I also loved that kids can draw on the paper tablecloths, and there are TVs at the bar if you're catching a game. It's a fantastic place for lunch, but it would also make a great date night spot. We ordered the blue crabs, shrimp, crawfish, and snow crab, and every single item was cooked to perfection. The restaurant might be a bit fancier than your typical seafood establishment in the area, but don't let that fool you, as the food is still good down home cooked. There is a mixture of booth and table with Chair seating Hailey provided us with excellent service for our meal. The wife, daughter and I all ordered the Scored fried Whole Flounder. They dish is offered either dipped in flour or dusted with cornmeal. Since we never had Flounder with cornmeal before we all went in that direction. Compared to scored whole flounder with flour, having it dusted in cornmeal was much lighter then flour without sacrificing the crispiness this dish demands. For sides, the wife ordered battered Potatoes and slaw, I had battered Potatoes and Corn on the Cob, while the daughter went with Fried Okra and slaw. All three of us left, fat, happy and satisfied.
