Food was very bland and unremarkable. I had a crab stew and the table gave it a taste, all agreeing they'd describe the flavor as "paste". The grilled mahi sandwich had a thick layer of cheese on it to mask the lack of seasoning and flavor. I scraped the melted pile of cheese off my sandwich and smothered it in tartar sauce to give it any semblance of flavor. Fries were good. Service was great and very friendly. Had a chance to go to the Marshside Grill in Brunswick recently. We were just in the area for the day, and wanted a nice place to eat a late lunch before heading back home to Florida. Sadly Brunswick does not have a lot of places that are on the water to take advantage of the view, but the Marshside Grill does fit this bill. While it was a beautiful day, it was a bit windy, and the smell of the swamp lands was a bit overpowering, so inside was the place to be for eating. We were tucked away in a corner, but that was a good thing in our book... less noise, and the view was quite nice. Our wait staff took our order, and I got the catfish dinner which comes with either five or eight pieces of deep fried catfish along with waffle fries. Definitely go for the eight piece, as it is the better value. The catfish was good, and the fries held up quite well. One drawback is that the batter used for the catfish is relatively thin and the catfish kind of wilts quickly. However, the big thing was something that my mother experienced... she ordered a hamburger, a pretty simple item from the menu. No extra toppings, just keeping it simple with lettuce and tomato. The hamburger is a thick restaurant style burger, which is nice but can be a bit dry. However, the failure here was the bun. The bottom half was very thin, and by the time it got to our table it was effectively complete mush from the juices from the burger patty. The top half wasn't much better. They need to seriously reconsider the type of bun being used for this burger, because the one they are currently using is not good. Overall, I would say that if you want a restaurant in Brunswick with a good water view, this is probably your best bet. However, I would not go here for excellent food. The food here is edible, and you won't be going home hungry, but don't go expecting culinary excellence. read more

We came for happy hour 3-8 W-Th. They offer $1 off drafts not food. We ordered cold drafts with a icy glass each time we refilled. We ordered Mahi sandwich and a combo platter. Good food. The blackened mahi was delicious with a little cheese on the top. The fries were good. Not exceptional but good. The combo platter tenders shrimp and wings were great. First time here on a date and had a great time! The mango margarita was delicious. We had the fried mushrooms as an appetizer, and they were amazing. Definitely get them with an extra side of ranch! I tried the fried shrimp po boy with a side of spuds for my entrée, and it did NOT miss. You have to try the spuds! I thought I was a fan of french fries but forget all that lol. Get the spuds, and thank me later. My date tried the grouper basket with a side of spuds. It was fantastic! Flaky, buttery soft, and freshly fried. I highly recommend the fried fish, they know what they're doing back there. The menu had a bit of everything. Stopped in today because the parking lot is always full. What a great find! We sat at the bar and had a great bartender. His name was Eric. We asked for recommendations and my husband ended up eating Hen Fingers (fresh breaded chicken fingers) and homemade lightly fried fabulous onion rings. Our party of almost 40 came on a Thursday night. We were given the outside patio area. We had an AMAZING waitress named Becca who handled our whole party. She was really sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. She was also patient with our big loud family and we received wonderful service from the whole staff. The food was also delicious. I had a fried shrimp Po Boy with spuds. The tomatoes were sliced perfectly and were fresh. The shrimp was spilling off my bread there were so many and the bread was perfectly toasted but also soft at the same time. It was everything I could have wanted in a fried shrimp sandwich. What an amazing lunch we had at Marshside Grill! We sat at the bar and had a delicious, spicy Bloody Mary beautifully dressed with big olives. First course was a bowl of Brunswick Stew. I can't give it enough high remarks. Delicious pork and vegetables to savor. Second course was half pound Peel n eat shrimp with warm butter and hush puppies. Shrimp were seasoned in old bay. So good!!! Damn! Third course was grilled fish tacos. They were solid. I didn't ask for more slaw on the inside of the taco. I was already super satisfied. Brandi is the bartender. Ambiance is a local seafood restaurant marsh side with inside and outdoor dining. Servers are all friendly and very good about keeping your glass filled and checking on you without being intrusive. The food is excellent. We love the fried seafood and to me their Brunswick Stew is the best I have ever had. I always get a quart to go since I only get to visit once or twice a year. Took a star off for our second trip-seafood platter was ok but I ordered chicken (fried) with Alfredo over angel hair pasta. Pasta was cooked fine, small serving of chicken was a bit lukewarm (certainly not just fried) but here is the head-scratcher-Alfredo sauce was served on the side in one of those little plastic cups with lids. Just barely enough to coat half the pasta so I ordered a second cup ($.50) and it too was lukewarm and covered. Who serves pasta Alfredo without coating the pasta in the sauce?? Just no. Service was great. Onion rings (app) were good. Just do not order the chicken Alfredo pasta. read more

Usually the food is really good. This time things were different. We waited a long time for the food to come out, at least over 35 minutes. Once the food came. It was cold, I tried to bear with it & once I bit into my wings I couldn't. They were way too cold. Fries was cold, I'm upset after waiting that long & then my food comes out cold. I just wonder was the food just sitting back there the entire time. Also, my shrimp & chicken tenders were the same size. We moved here from Texas and I have no idea why we waited sooo long to come eat here!?! We were not wanting to wait to be seated so we sat at the Bar. We were greeted immediately by a young lady and she took our drink orders., we asked about starters and she recommended the Buffalo Sampler! SOLD! It was so delicious!! The wings, shrimp,tenders and celery, freaking sauce is the bomb!! Soo good!! Next we had the Full moon platter, every bite of the fried oysters, fried Grouper, blackened shrimp and scallops were delectable!! Some of the best scallops we have ever had! The last 2 times we have visited, we were not allowed to sit on the dock, since the food is average, and the inside atmosphere very dated, the dock is the lure, sorry guys there's other docks ones open to close, unless it's raining, try actually serving the customers needs. FYI the restaurant stated we don't service the dock after 2, reopens at dinner. We live on Jekyll, it's the first restaurant off the island, ill waste another gallon of gas for service read more

This place is great. We come to Brunswick often and always make time to come here. Good selection of beers and the food is always great. The grouper is delicious and the fried shrimp are not heavily battered I think we have tried just about everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. It's a good size place with lots of tables and outdoor dining on the porch by the marsh. The servers are amazing and do their jobs well. read more
