We stopped at Mr. Shuck's on our road trip, and it was hands down one of the best meals we've had! The food was absolutely amazing, and the menu has so many great options. We especially loved the shareable feasts. Such a nice touch that they bring out a complimentary shrimp sampler with your drinks while you wait! The service was exceptional. Our servers were friendly, fast, and incredibly attentive. We never had to ask for anything, including drink refills--they were always one step ahead. The atmosphere was impressive. The restaurant was spotless, beautifully decorated, and the background music created a relaxed vibe. I also loved that kids can draw on the paper tablecloths, and there are TVs at the bar if you're catching a game. It's a fantastic place for lunch, but it would also make a great date night spot. We ordered the blue crabs, shrimp, crawfish, and snow crab, and every single item was cooked to perfection. The flavors were outstanding, and even the sweet tea was perfect--not overly sweet, just right. If you're anywhere near Brunswick, Mr. Shuck's is an absolute must-try. There are two parts to Mr. Shucks. A restaurant side as well as a fishmonger side. Normally when a restaurant is associated with its own seafood market you know the food is going to be good and Mr. Shuck's did not disappoint. The restaurant might be a bit fancier than your typical seafood establishment in the area, but don't let that fool you, as the food is still good down home cooked. There is a mixture of booth and table with Chair seating Hailey provided us with excellent service for our meal. The wife, daughter and I all ordered the Scored fried Whole Flounder. They dish is offered either dipped in flour or dusted with cornmeal. Since we never had Flounder with cornmeal before we all went in that direction. Compared to scored whole flounder with flour, having it dusted in cornmeal was much lighter then flour without sacrificing the crispiness this dish demands. For sides, the wife ordered battered Potatoes and slaw, I had battered Potatoes and Corn on the Cob, while the daughter went with Fried Okra and slaw. Hospitality was so above and beyond with some really incredible seafood! I came with a larger party, and we had to wait a bit, but this was a recommended spot if we wanted shrimp and I can say it was worth a wait. It was BUMPING! Truly to the place to go on a Saturday night. It was nice being able to have some beers while we waited. We luckily caught a break with weather and opted to sit outside which ended up working well. Our server was SO kind and helpful and when they found out we were all from out of town, he made sure we all had some garlic butter shrimp to start! I went with the buffalo eggs and we split some oysters. The oysters were very fresh, really meaty and no grit! The crackers were a nice touch and the tatar sauce was balanced great with lemon. The buffalo egg was a delicious deep fried hard boil egg tossed in buffalo sauce. Outrageously good buffalo sauce that I'm glad I ended up getting with my shrimp. I went with blackened shrimp with buffalo sauce and coleslaw. The slaw was quite good and a great break from the heat of the buffalo sauce I continued to shove in my face with the extremely tasty shrimps. We were very much convinced to get the key lime pie, and it was easily one of the best I've had and took me all my restraint not to buy a whole pie for breakfast the next day. My experience here was top notch, and the rest of my party LOVED their meals too. I met with a friend here for dinner and she had heard a lot of good things about this place. It's smaller than expected, but they have outdoor seating. We got sat, but asked for a bigger table, which we got. The service was amazing! This one lady, put bibs on us, made sure our drinks were filled, and brought hand washing bowls afterwards. Our server was here and there, but could have been more attentive than the other lady. Food wise, we started with half a dozen of steamed oysters with Mr shucks sauce (tastes like buffalo sauce). I wish it was hotter and fresher bc the "scallop" part wouldn't peel off the shell. We also ordered a snow crab platter and a pound of crawfish, both medium with garlic butter and garlic potatoes. Mr. Shucks just launched their first-ever Sunday brunch, and let me tell you--it was absolutely worth opening the doors for. They're normally closed on Sundays, so this felt extra special. We started with the mimosa flight, which was fun, festive, and perfectly balanced--great flavors and a great way to kick off brunch. For my meal, I ordered the catfish with eggs and potatoes, and it was exactly what I wanted. The catfish was seasoned just right, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the potatoes were crispy and comforting--hands down the perfect breakfast for me. My husband went with the Crab BLT, and yes... I definitely stole a bite. It was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. It's a Saturday and the line was long, so that's a good sign. The service was friendly but super slow. We were seated at 5 p.m., and the appetizer was served in 10 minutes but didn't get to eat our main meal after 45 minutes later. It's understandable because they're busy. But, that's a very long wait. But the food made up for it. I enjoyed the grilled snapper and garlic shrimp, my friend his grilled whole flounder, and BF his shrimp and crawfish boil, except for the sausage, that tasted like bologna. Portions are pretty good for the price you pay. I loved the corn and coleslaw. Overall, delicious food drowning in butter, enough to clog your arteries in one day. So, don't eat this often. Came here for an early dinner after a long drive. Located in a strip mall near the Walmart. There is plenty of parking. The place is not real big, but they made good use of the space and it is decorated nicely. Tables were clean and I was seated quickly. My server was excellent and very helpful. She brought me a shrimp in garlic sauce and I loved it. I will get that next time for sure. I chose fried shrimp and oysters with a cole slaw side. It was good, but very greasy. Absolutely love this place. We go here every time we run errands in Brunswick. We live in Brantley Co. The service was fantastic as usual. We sat at the bar the place was hopping today! Our bartender/server was Roddy and definitely recommend if sit at bar! I had Shuck's Punch cocktail we had raw oysters with horseradish (so dang good) then husband had Snapper blackened with potatoes and fried okra and hush puppies. I had peel n eat shrimp and I asked to make it as spicy as possible. They never let us down. Ambience was perfect as always. Great music servers are happy and pay attention to details. What a great addition to SSI! My grandmother lives on the island and loves Mr Shucks in Brunswick, so they came highly recommended. Pros: The prices are unlike anything else you see on the island, so affordable! The garlic shrimp sample was genius, because I would've likely not tried that flavor and it was SO GOOD. I ended up getting some garlic butter to dip my shrimp in. They're working kinks out, but everyone was working hard and were so friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating. Con: There is only one restroom for the whole restaurant (if there were more it was not labeled) and that was only a problem because we have a potty training toddler who has to go when she has to go. When you go n a Wednesday with a reservation and still have to wait 20 minutes you know it's good. When the place is packed and they wait out the door you just know. When the kitchen is overwhelmed with in service, mobile orders and take out you may have hit gold. The staff is phenomenal, friendly, energetic and always hopping. Roddy our server was great and always on top of things and the Manager (I assume) Mr.C was always around checking on everyone. The drink specials were great the bartenders really knew their stuff. The complimentary garlic shrimp was just a teaser. For our non seafood person chicken wings and stuffed potatoes were spot on. The three seafood platters we ordered were some of the best I have had second to none. The funnel cake fries dessert just made it that much more of an experience. If you're a seafood lover this is the place to be. Just wish it wasn't 4+hours from Tampa so I could visit more often. read more

First off, started with extremely SLOWW SLOWW service in the patio. When bartender finally noticed he was nice but golly no table touch intro for at least 20 min in the patio. I felt like I almost wanted to leave , but I love blue crab too much to pass. After that, the food came out quickly and server was nice but still forgot small things like lemon and water refills while they were really not that busy. Maybe 2-3 folks at the bar. Very sad since I had my dog and I couldn't really leave him to go get the things I needed inside myself or remind him. He did go above and beyond when he finally realized he kept forgetting about me. Food was absolutely delicious. Blue crab is fresh and meaty. Tasted perfect. Just wish the shells were still on. Shrimp was good and the combos are priced right!!!!! $29 for this dish pictured. This place is amazing. Here is my big tip- make sure you are hungry when you go. The quantity of food is huge and the quality is also really good. As first visitors we were given a piece of shrimp in a garlic sauce to try which was a nice surprise. I ordered the 16 piece shrimp dish and they let you pick two different sauces so I selected blackened and garlic. The shrimp are small but delicious. In addition you get two hush puppies and two sides. I ordered garlic corn and garlic potatoes and both were good. My husband ordered the crawfish platter. He highly recommends ordering the garlic butter sauce on the side otherwise your seafood is swimming. Service was excellent. Our table was in the bar and oddly shaped so it was hard to have a conversation with other members of our party but it worked okay. I will definitely be going back- lots more to try. read more

Came here after an internet search for a seafood variety platter. Not too big on the inside, but they make it work! My wife had a platter with snow crab legs, garlic shrimp, fried corn, buttered sausage, potatoes, boiled eggs. She added a side of blue crab. I ordered the Conch, but they were out. So chicken tenders it was! I'm not much of a seafood guy, but I love some hush puppies! Kids had chicken tenders and fries, and one had shrimp. We came during Happy Hour so they had some drink specials going. I had a red Sangria and it was probably the best sangria I've ever had. If you come, ask for Eddie! He is usually the head bartender, but said he likes to work the floor some. One of the top five servers we've ever had anywhere. He is on his game! We started with Fried green tomatoes. Really really good! Lightly breaded. A little heat and thick n tangy green tomatoes. So good! I chose the Tilapia dinner with loaded fries and coleslaw. Fish was cooked perfectly. Fries were ok but cheese cooled and they all stuck together. Deb had the Shrimp feast. So much delicious food! Shrimp was so flavorful. Ambience is very homey. Boil! Butter! Beer! Bib!! We searched out a top- rated seafood place to have lunch while road-tripping to St. Augustine. This had great ratings that did not do it justice. Quite a few tables were full of repeat customers having a great time! While we were eating, some folks came in and awarded the restaurant with TOP 8 Seafood Restaurant in the country. It was so fun to see how happy the owner and staff were! The food was awesome! I had the Ms. Seafood Boil with snow crab, shrimp, potatoes, corn and one boiled egg. I got the "Spicy Spice" version which was both hot and flavorful. The garlic butter was out of this world. My husband ordered half-n-half shrimp with garlic butter shrimp and the blackened shrimp. He loved dipping the blackened shrimp into the garlic butter. The restaurant has a cute and cozy ambience in the dining room. The restaurant is in a strip mall but don't let that fool you. What an amazing find during our travels! We were greeted with warm smiles and wonderful hospitality and then seated. The server, Chelsie, greeted us with enthusiasm and when learned it was our first time dining with them, brought us a sample of their signature butter garlicky shrimp sample. Incredible! We ordered the red snapper lunch and the oysters in garlicky butter sauce. Both dishes were extremely tasty and delicious. The restaurant decor and attention to cleanliness was impeccable.
