The restaurant is dirty, outdated, and lacks character or charm. The only redeeming quality is its location on the river. The waitlist process was frustrating and disorganized. Instead of taking phone numbers or providing pagers, they simply write down your name and loudly call it over a speaker. Despite having four adults in our party and actively listening both inside and outside for our name, staff claimed they called us multiple times and skipped over us, resulting in a wait that was well beyond the estimated time. When we were finally seated, our table was dirty and wasn't even set up with the correct number of chairs, despite there being only four adults in our group. Unfortunately, the food did not make up for the poor experience. It was subpar at best. Overall, aside from the riverfront view, this restaurant failed to deliver on service, atmosphere, cleanliness, and food quality. read more

Great place to watch the sunset across the marsh! Parking is a pain but once you're in there is inside and outside seating, a bar and sports monitors. They serve Georgia Shrimp which are smaller but have much more taste than farm raised shrimp. The cheese grits and field peas were spot on. Everyone in our group of 12 enjoyed their food. Yes, yes, and yes. Zachry's salad, add blackened chicken, bleu cheese dressing. This was so good. I threw off the tomatoes bc they were cut like giant apple slices. I think the cucumbers could've been chopped, BUUUUUT this was a phenomenal salad. And soooo much chicken for such a great price. Husband/FIL got oysters and shrimp and he loved that. MIL got shrimp salad and she enjoyed that, tho it was a very large serving. Will be back to try the pie. read more

Lunch at Zachary's Riverhouse was great! We ate on the upstairs deck with a view of the marina and waterfront. Our server was Lexi and she was quick to greet us and very pleasant. I ordered a custom margarita made with jalapeno tequila and peach nectar. It was so good! For our meal we had the fried oyster poboy with cheese grits and the fried shrimp with Lima beans and fries. Food was absolutely some of the best I've had! I had the oysters with Lima beans. The oysters were fried to perfection; nice and tender with just the right amount of breading... not greasy at all. The Lima beans were hands down the best I've ever tasted ... better than my Grandma's even! My husband had the Shrimp and cheese grits with red potatoes (that were actually mine lol), and coleslaw. Talk about cheese grits...he looked like he had a taste of heaven when he took a bite. He said the shrimp along with the coleslaw and red potatoes were really good. Overall, the prices were reasonable with the quality and quantity of food that was served. The service was very good and the ambiance was on target giving you the feel of a being in an old coastal restaurant. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Solid seashore experience in a house-turned-restaurant. Service was slammed - and they maintained a great attitude. The only drawback is the noice level is extreme. We could barely talk over all of the sound bouncing around the room at our indoor table. I would like to go back at an off-peak time to enjoy it more. read more

My best friend and I went on a girls trip away and wanted to do a fun restaurant with a water view for our dinner. Our hotel staff recommended Zachry's and it did not disappoint!! We had a nice table along the water facing the marina. We both tried two local brews, my girlfriend had the silver bluff IPA and I had the blueberry wheat. Both of them were fantastic. Those collard greens will make you slap your sister/momma whoever's close. lol They were very, very good!Those hush puppies were a pleasant surprise with a unique taste that I thoroughly enjoyed. Excellent service from several young ladies. Beautiful setting along the river. We ate on the back porch on a quiet afternoon overlooking the pool. We started with crab stew that tasted similar to clam chowder. I had shrimp and grits and my wife had the catch of day blackened. Overall the food was very good. We had a great lunch at Zachry's! I started with a cup of the crab chowder, and it was great, a tasty creamy chowder without being heavy, and had a lot of crab in it. I went on to have a Greek salad with a side of blackened shrimp - all of this was excellent, olives, pepperoncini, feta, good tomatoes, and a tasty Greek dressing. My husband had the fried shrimp and oyster platter, which came with a lot of food - shrimp and oysters, but also a couple of hush puppies, fries, and a side of coleslaw. This is the thing to order if you're really hungry :). We were too full for dessert, but our server said it's all homemade, so we'll have to come back and try it! We would definitely eat here again. After reading the reviews, we expected a much better experience here. It was windy and pouring rain and the patio/porch seating was closed. I imagine that the view of the boats, the river, and the bridge are one of the main attractions here. It's a very casual restaurant. Most folks were in shorts and jeans. Service was friendly, but not overly so. My dinner came with a salad -- topped with bacon and cheese, of course. It was okay. I shared some of it with my husband. I got their shrimp and grits and it was edible, but nothing special. The shrimp were small. The grits were a bit watery without much flavor. My husband had their fried shrimp and this was much better -- the shrimp were larger and lightly breaded. The portion was ample. His sides were red bliss potatoes -- bland with no seasoning. And their vegetable of the day -- lima beans. I'm glad we came here for dinner, though. Now we know. read more

Reviews on this place are under rated. Amazing bartender and cocktails. Cocktail menu is small, but they're hand crafted and made to perfection with attn to detail. Shrimp Tacos and Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna apps were excellent. Fresh catch of the day was swordfish and salmon. One of our party had the salmon blacked and raved about it. We also had the fresh GA peel and eat shrimp. Everyone was Very happy. Reviews we had read made it sound like an old timey fish house, or that's the impression we got, so almost didn't try it. Definitely far and above that. Highly recommended. Definitely will be back. read more

To address the elephant in the room: They do NOT have a Confederate flag out front and were offended that someone posted that about them. See photo below. The food here is top notch. But the location and service are better. It would only be better if they either allowed half orders or had a "Captain's plate" with a sampling of everything. If there are two or more in your party, not a big deal. But for solo travelers, this limits choices. Seriously, everything is good. You really can't go wrong. I ate there for supper, and then I returned the next day to get a large salad to go, which I enjoyed about three hours later. I couldn't sit outside because no tables were free. Saw the reviews and decided to come check it out. On my arrival I saw confederate flags flying around and did not feel safe nor wanted to have an experience in such a place that hold onto old ways. Regardless if some "feel" it's not what many think it means... it does have representation to a particular side of history. "Southern Heritage" includes the dark past and flying such a flag is a constant reminder of those times. 0/10 recommend supporting a business with proud "Southern Heritage" displayed in such a manner.
