This was my least favorite meal of the trip. The shrimp and grits was not traditional or well made- it was fairly bland and not great. The other food was fine but nothing special, though this place is a good 20% more expensive than the rest in the little village area for what they're offering. The kids meals are a rip off. $11 for a tiny cup of Mac and cheese is a joke. I'd skip this one in favor of the numerous other options just steps away- note that they also do not have their own bathroom, you have to walk around the complex to get to it. read more

Casual and relaxed with fresh seafood... what more can you want beachside? We found this spot online and detoured to get here on the trip home from Savannah. It was our first time on the island;and, but it won't be our last. We found this restaurant and the seafood was swimming in the morning and on our plate for a late lunch. That's fresh! I had the local catch and it was flaky, juicy and perfectly blackened on my sandwich. My wife had the mahi sandwich, also blackened. The fish was moist and the rolls fresh. Both sandwiches were accompanied with seasoned fries that were done just right - crispy on the outside and tender inside. The drinks were done right and the rum punch a good seaside choice. There are limited options on the island so we opted to try this place wanting something cheap. We got seated right away on a Saturday for lunch. Both indoor and outdoor seats are available. My table tried a few items on their basic menu including Cesar salad with fried shrimp, Mahi fish salad, onion ring, calamari with Asian sauce on side, hamburger with side salad. The onion rings were thick and well fried. Calamari was also crisp since we ordered the sweet chili sauce on the side which I highly recommend. Unsure of how much the kitchen would over or under cook the burger, I ordered mine medium well hoping it would be medium. But it seems as they did more well done which was disappointing. Overall, the dishes were simple and also simply prepared. Prices were higher than we had hoped for but the portion size was fair. Service was nice and the food was brought out in an appropriate speed. Not sure I would go out of my way to return here should I return. read more

Yesterday the 3 of us went to eat breakfast here. 2 received their food within about 15 minutes and the other one didn't receive their food until 15 minutes later. The first two had already eaten so they had to wait on the last person to eat. This place needs to make sure that everyone had a table receives their food at same time. read more

We called for a pickup order - a shrimp poboy and a fish sandwich, each at $15, and hushpuppies at $7 per their online menu. When I arrived they said the order was $60. The price I was changed for the sandwiches were $18 and $19 and $7.50 for the hushpuppies, THEN I was charged a 20% service fee that wasn't mentioned on the phone. I saw at the bar for a quick lunch. Ordered a slaw dog with Mac and an ordered of GA wild shrimp fried with their cheese grits. Needed a hotdog after the seafood I've been eating on the island. I'll just say the service at the bar was fantastic and the fried shrimp was arguably the best I've had in my life. The seasoning they used is spectacular. I ordered the French toast with bacon and cheese grits, paired with sweet tea, and everything was absolutely delicious. The food came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor, with generous yet reasonable portions. The staff were upbeat, professional, and kept great energy even though the restaurant stayed packed all morning. We sat outside and enjoyed a nice breeze, which made the experience even better. The restaurant is easy to find; it's located at the end of the building on the left when you enter the shopping center. The breakfast menu is simple to follow with plenty of great options, and the prices are very affordable. Because it's so popular, we waited about 30 minutes, but it was worth every minute. We enjoyed talking with one another and even chatting with others while we waited. The best part of the visit was definitely the combination of delicious food and quality family time. You know, supply and demand. What I did not appreciate were the hidden charges that are NOT disclosed... such as the 3% credit card fee and the 20% "Service Charge." I walked to this place from hotel for breakfast. They have both indoor and outdoor dining. It's very popular so you may have to wait for a seat. Service was fast and friendly, Best Mimosas on the island. Really enjoyed my French toast with bacon. They gave me my beverage to go for my walk back along the beach. We absolutely cannot eat undercooked bacon and this was a bunch of undercooked bacon. Took us about five minutes to get the servers attention to requested to be a little longer. She probably returned with a bunch of burnt bacon. Nope! We asked for sausage and I have to say it was very tasty. The grits were delicious, potatoes were average and the eggs cooked ok. It was AWFUL!!! Should have known when the waitress didn't know what the drink or food specials were being offered. We paid $86 for two drinks and 2 dinners. The "fish of the day" platter was laughable. It was fried to death and ridiculously dry. The hushpuppies were the size of a large marble. The entire dinner could have been consumed in 10 bites or less. We left there and had to go to the Irish Pub on the next block to get burgers and fries so we felt like we had actually consumed enough food to account for a dinner. I realize it is off season but I would expect that food would actually be edible. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

Whenever we visit Jekyll Island, we always have breakfast at Sunrise Grill. The food is great, with large portions, and the staff is very friendly. They offer outdoor seating and are pet-friendly, which is a nice bonus. While we haven't tried their lunch menu yet, it looks excellent. Delicious food, tasty drinks, and superb hospitality - they have it all!
