The pasta dish on the dinner menu was Marvelous. The pasta was cooked to perfection. The sauce was delicious. The seafood in the description on the menu was plentiful. The waitress was very attentive. A great place to dine. read more

Eighty Ocean was packed and clearly having a very busy day, but they still absolutely nailed the service. Our server worked incredibly hard and stayed attentive throughout the meal. The food was excellent. We had the redfish and the Seafood Perlo, and both were delicious. The Seafood Perlo especially had a ton of flavor and was very well done. Great food, strong service, and an impressive job by the team despite how busy the restaurant was. Definitely a great dining experience on Jekyll Island. read more

My friends and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Eighty Ocean. I decided on the margherita pizza. It was very tasty. For my drink I decided to get the island infusion. It was a very good choice. I loved the low lighting and romantic atmosphere. However I do not recommend the high top tables. Very uncomfortable for everyone. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. She was so kind to my friend who just got surgery. She got something for her to prop her feet up on so she would be more comfortable. read more

This is a fantastic place to visit when you're on Jekyll Island. Their menu has great food options at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our server was Wenda and she was so nice and efficient as our server and definitely deserves mentioning. The restaurant is rather large and connects to a lounge area but despite the vastness of the room, it was pleasantly quiet. I can't wait to return and see Jara, Jillian, Jade, Archie and Wenda when we return. You deserve 5 stars and 2 thumbs all the way up! Keep up the fantastic job!! read more

Yummy restaurant! The service was great! Great coastal ambience and seafood dishes! Wonderful way to do dinner while at the Beach

We were staying at a sister hotel and it was a rainy night so we picked here to come try dinner. Walking in is very nice, like a lounge area, tables and bar. Service was great, friendly and helpful! The crispy Artichokes were listed as a side but she let me order as a app and added some aioli so delicious! Now the entrees, I got the red fish and hubby got the ribeye, my fish was a Lil over cooked with a teeniest amount of cauliflower puree but still tasty! Ribeye was great with creamy mashed potatoes! All in all we enjoyed the meal read more

We were looking for a nice place to eat before our race and saw that Eighty Ocean had a pretty good menu. Our server Nicole was so sweet and made sure everything wad GF for me, and took our orders right away. I got the grilled red fish with kale and this was one of my favorite dishes Ive had with kale! I finished the whole thing! We really enjoyed our experience here and I would definitely revisit this place on the island :) read more

The ambiance is really nice! Low lighting, quaint, and fairly quiet! The hostess was very friendly and she sat us quickly! Our server, Riley was very personable and professional although not very versed on the menu! We ordered the Pork Chop dinner and the Redfish. The meals must be alacarte because the sides were barely visible as was the little piece of fish I got. My fiancée really enjoyed her pork chops. She said it was tender, juicy, and flavorful. read more

One does not arrive at a coastal Georgia island destination restaurant expecting perfection. But one does, at minimum, expect competence. The evening began with an inauspicious omen: the brick oven, that crown jewel of any kitchen aspiring to rustic sophistication, was out of commission. Entire menu sections vanished before we'd even been seated. An unfortunate beginning. We were placed outside, where the ambient cacophony, amplified considerably by three remarkably uninhibited fellow diners stationed nearby, rendered conversation impossible and the atmosphere something closer to a sorority courtyard than a seaside dining destination. We retreated indoors, seeking refuge in civility. The universe, apparently, had other plans. Our spirited neighbors followed, installing themselves at the bar with the determination of people who had nowhere else to be and every intention of ensuring you knew it. The tomato crostini arrived. It did not taste of anything in particular. A missed opportunity, given that a perfectly ripe tomato requires almost nothing of a kitchen, only restraint and decent olive oil. The salads, however, required something more: they required arriving. They did not. The kitchen, we were told, had "lost" the order...a phrase that should never appear in the vocabulary of a functioning restaurant. When my Greek salad eventually materialized, it emerged drowning in dressing, its lettuce long past any meaningful structural integrity. A wilted salad is a kitchen's confession. On brighter shores: my husband's Coastal Seafood Fettuccine showed genuine promise. The kitchen, when focused, clearly has capable hands. The NY strip with fingerling potatoes was likewise executed with confidence. Two dishes do not a dining experience make, however. The bill, predictably, reflected none of the evening's considerable shortcomings. Eighty Ocean Kitchen and Bar is a restaurant that charges for an experience it has not yet learned to deliver. Jekyll Island deserves better. So do you. -- Do not return. Do not recommend. read more

This was our best dinner experience on island. And our favorite of our entire stay. The food and service were both outstanding. The ambiance was just okay, but the meal itself was so impressive, that it outweighed any negatives -- like the view of guests swimming in the pool. Not only was the meal excellent, but the menu was also unlike any of the other restaurants we'd been to here. The menu, although not large, was creative and had a lot of items not seen on island. And each item ordered was also presented beautifully on the plate. So, taste plus visual appearance. You could tell that the kitchen and the chefs cared about our enjoyment. We started by sharing the romaine hearts salad. The lettuce wedge was topped with fried capers, feta cheese, and a creamy garlic dressing. The dish was halved in the kitchen for us. For our entree, I had the roasted striped bass. The perfectly cooked fish was atop a bed of potato and artichoke puree. There was a layer of olive tapenade that added a salty briny flavor. And an artichoke heart with some micro greens topped it all. It was just delicious. My husband had the diver scallops for his entree. Three large scallops -- expertly golden seared on the outside -- were served with fingerling potatoes, black garlic, bacon, and a peanut "chutney". He said they were the best scallops he's ever had (and is now hesitant to order them anywhere else as he is afraid that he'd be disappointed). He couldn't stop raving about his meal. For dessert, we shared an apple "tart". This was thin layers of pastry with apples, seasoned with cardamom, pecans, and caramel. The dessert was good, but not as good as our main entrees were. We'd both highly recommend this restaurant. It seems more appropriate for adult diners than children -- although there were a few families there. And we'd certainly return if ever in the area again. read more

We had a reservation for dinner and were underwhelmed by the atmosphere and definitely by the food. Service was fantastic, however, we felt like that we sitting in a makeshift setting in the lobby (it did not feel like a restaurant). I do not leave negative reviews often, but this was the worst food I've had in a long time: my husband had undercooked and watery risotto, the tomato crostini were almost inedible because they were so salty, even my steak was disappointing. We will not be back. read more

We love this restaurant: wonderful ambience, service, and food. Just walking lets you know it's going be a great experience. The host was friendly and made a point of giving us a great table on the window with the view. Our server, Nicole, was both friendly and efficient. We started off with Mark, a Martini and I, an Old Fashioned. Onto the stuffed cucumbers, which were our appetizer and a real delight. Mark ordered the scallops as his entrée and I crispy skin bass. So, so good. Finished with coffee and blueberry cobbler. Yum! The chef here is outstanding! read more

i have never given a negative review of a restaurant before. But I'm going to do it this time for Eighty Ocean Kitchen and Bar. People who come to beautiful Jekyll Island for a vacation need to know where to eat. Don't eat there. Only one of the salads was good, the rest of the meal was barely mediocre. The place was almost empty but the hostess wanted us to sit outside. We did . She sat us close to another table and we heard their louder conversation, because there was no music playing. I was looking forward at least to dessert because I didn't know a flourless chocolate torte could taste dry and old. They poured blueberry sauce on it. The coffee was cold. We made the most of it because we had been so looking forward to our time away. Please skip this restaurant. read more

Food was great! I had striped bass which was perfect!! Hubby had special hangar steak but was overcooked... MR requested, came out MW but was tasty with the accoutrements. Fig and goat cheese flatbread phenomenal! Blue crab deviled eggs good but presentation lacking... filling should have been whipped and piped in with pouch. Black and tan was a tan and black!!! Service was great! Thanks Lazlo!!! read more

We decided to eat lunch here because it was rated number one on tripadvisor and yelp. The restaurant is beautiful and the service was great. However, the food was not great. I had the wedge salad with chicken. The chicken was hard and dry, and the salad lacked enough dressing. My husband had the chicken blt, and he also said his chicken was hard and dry. My mother in law had the shrimp and grits and said it was very good. If we return, we will have to try things other than chicken. read more

What a bad place. Made a reservation back in June for dinner on August 20 to celebrate our daughter graduation and masters. We reconfirmed our reservation on August 19 When we arrived for dinner, we were offered a table that butted up to the bar with a large party spill over our table. There were two tables wide open at that time away from this area. We were told that this was our table ( never requested ) and the other two were not available. But only held by a reservation as well. We said it was unacceptable and a manager merely said that the bar would be lessening. Her last offer was a high top table right near the bar as well. It was just an unacceptable practice from this restaurant and we will never be going back nor recommending to all of our friends. Of course the hotel that it's in could not decide if it was owned by them or independent business. I will be sending an email to the General manager of the hotel group. Poor service needs to be called out. read more

The food was good, but the restaurant was way too noisy. It ruined our experience. The service was thoughtful but extremely slow.

We were there for Sunday brunch so everything below relates to that. Things might be different at different times of the day. About the best I can say is that the cocktails were good (although $14 for a mimosa is kinda steep). I had avocado toast and it was fine, nothing special, but sort of bland (none of the salt grinders near our table had salt in them). It was supposed to come with grilled shrimp but they never arrived. My side of cheese grits was OK but also needed salt. My friend got the crab toast. She gave me some to taste and it was very bad. It was supposed to be marinated in lemon but had no flavor but fishiness. There was a lot of it and it was essentially inedible. To have something to eat my friend ordered "seasoned" potatoes that were tasteless. The ambiance was so-so. Only a few lights were on but we sat by the window so it wasn't terribly dark. Our waiter was nice and answered all our questions but he seemed unfamiliar with the menu. It took a really long time for our food to come, even though the place was mostly empty (probably a kitchen issue). Our waiter did comp my friend's meal and one of our drinks. All in all, this is not an experience we will seek out in the future. read more

Save your money and go to the wharf. Terrible service and food. Our entire charter from the club laughed on our way back about the food quality from the baked cauliflower, pizza, chicken and fish we would have been better off at the wharf again. Great mocktail and gluten free options. Nice ocean view and outdoor ambience with fire pits and heaters. Friendly staff

Surprisingly delicious! Arrived expecting another overpriced mediocre meal from the another hotel restaurant. The food was great! I was drawn in by a previous review for the bourbon peach pie, but found out they switch the menu often. At the time of my review, it turns out they only serve brunch and dinner until April. I had the shrimp and grits which comes with andouille sausage, simply delicious! I also had the Georgia peach cobbler, which was amazing. The staff was very polite, helpful, and accommodating. The restaurant had a great layout with seating inside and out, as well as a large seating area of couches for sitting with friends for a before or after dinner cocktail. I recommend everyone stop by and try this place. read more

The wait staff was very accommodating for parents with kids. Crayons for coloring and outdoor seating, although we had reserved inside. Nicole was our waitress, she was sweet, attentive, and gave great recommendations. We shared the cornbread, the Caesar salad, and mussels. Not a bad thing in the bunch and I'm not usually a salad fan. Also enjoyed my Maple & Bacon old fashion. The kids meals all came with fruit, fries, and a cookie. Would go back and recommend. read more

The mussel appetizers are excellent. We got a loaf of bread with it for $4 that was served warm. The scallops and gnudi were ordered as well. My husbands cocktail Georgia heat was the perfect balance of heat and spice. My cocktail was the bacon old fashioned and it was okay. We also got the heirloom carrots. My husband's scallops were cooked perfectly and had all the right accompaniments. My gnudi was served with spinach, carrot puree and jalapeno. They were out of a few things with the storm but what we had was great. read more

The food was terrible. I ordered a fig and goat cheese flatbread. The cheese was mozzarella cheese and was VERY salty. The waiter took it to the chef and I was told that it was goat cheese. Best dinner on the Island last night. Sat outside on the covered porch, server was excellent. Started with the meatball app & the blue crab deviled egg app- both delicious. Dirty martini was perfect w/ blue cheese stuffed olives. Had the Romain salad- amazing, boys had the chowder special/ it was rich and creamy. Entrees were the Red fish & sea bass/ fish cooked perfectly. Dessert was their version of a banana foster- we devoured. Will def be back. read more

Three stars only because the service was super slowwwww!!!! It took 15 minutes to receive drinks. Never ordered a second drink and the people who did order second drinks never got them. The food was good! Not sure why the recommendation for this place was only the burger...so I tried the burger. I was starving so I must say that the burger was quite filing. The whole table ordered burgers that they ran out of them. Only hiccup was the server accidentally dropping a slice of pizza in my purse while trying to place it on the table. Would definitely try this place again, but sitting at the bar. read more

This is a beautiful restaurant located on Jekyll. The ambiance is stunning, and the service was efficient for the most part. We had a large party with a reservation. For some reason, even though we had all arrived, our party was seated about 30 minutes after the reserved time. The cornbread appetizer was delicious, and most of our party raved about the scallops. However, the chicken and gnudi dishes left much to be desired. The portion size of the latter was so small; those around me offered their food to me. The conversation of our party definitely made the night. read more

The food was fantastic. The scallops are incredible as well as the heirloom carrots. Decent wine selection. The ambience in reality versus what the photos showed was disappointing. Kids running around, screaming, no ocean view, shorts and baseball caps. But the meal and the server more than made up for it. I would have worn shirts too if the website had not said they were prohibited which is out of date. There were a couple dead coach roaches on the floor. I told a bus guy and he kicked them under a sofa. read more

Overall, horrible. We could have gotten a better steak at Waffle House, a better pizza at Subway. The water tasted like they used it wash dishes and then served it. Price point is outrageous, I could've bought a frozen pizza and steak for less and enjoyed it more. read more

Service was good. Food was beautifully prepared although a bit heavy on the salt. It was quiet because we went during the off-season.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Eighty Ocean. We both ordered the chef's choice steak and were impressed. We both ordered medium well but the steaks were both well (very well). They were still great. 10/10 recommend the arugula salad. It is so simple but packed with flavor. The ambiance is perfect for a date night. The service was excellent. read more

Mediocre. No ambiance. The waiter couldn't answer our questions about the menu. The food was just okay. Pretty disappointed.

Atmosphere is beautiful- 5 stars Cleanliness- 5 stars Service- 5 stars Cocktails- 2 and 1/2 Food- 3 stars They have GF on the menu. They have a chef who can make modifications. The server was knowledgeable about GF options. They did tell me that some items labeled GF are made in a shared frier. I ordered salmon and it was fine. My entire party felt like the food was fine but not memorable enough to make us want to return. Prices are a bit high but what I would expect in the area, $30 to $40 for an entree. Drinks are $15 a piece. Wine ranges around $40ish a bottle. We ordered the salmon, the redfish, crab cakes, a gnudi, mussels (appetizer), lobster bisque, and a goat cheese (appetizer), & 3 drinks. Needless to say, it was A LOT of food and our total was $270ish. We splurged. I would say you should budget at least $50 a person. They do have valet if you want to spruce up your visit! They have indoor and outdoor dining options. read more

We went here as a group of 8 adults and 5 kids with one being special needs, and everything was great! It was my MIL's birthday celebration, and we brought a cake earlier on which they had no problem taking. The service was above and beyond. My 6 year old has special needs, and went into the restaurant crying and wasn't settling down. Our server was so helpful, and even brought out some toast and butter for her while we waited for her kids pizza. The cocktails are delicious, but the espresso martini was a little stronger than I am used to, but I still drank the entire thing. I had the scallop entree which was so good! It came out smaller than I expected dish wise, but it filled me up! I just wish I remembered who our server was, because she really was great to our entire party. read more

You get to this restaurant by walking in the Jekyll Island Club and heading to the right. The atmosphere is lovely. We came here at sunset so the view was awesome. It is fairly dark in the dining room (lights dimmed to set the mood), so it's perfect for a date night. The restaurant design is modern-beach in the best way. Overall, the atmosphere was more suited to adults. We started with drinks, and there were several great options. The Georgia Heat was probably one of the top 5 drinks I've ever had in my life. If you like margaritas, you'll love this. It's not as sour as a marg, but rather a little sweeter. But so refreshing and the tequila comes through perfectly. It was so good my wife and I each got one for "dessert"! As for the food, I would eat here every night and be perfectly happy with it. The food was extremely tasty. The crab hushpuppies were amazing, and they were more savory than regular hushpuppies. However, I wish the portion size of this was larger--you only get 4 of them per order. Also, you have to get the baked Brie. It was served in a small skillet and was perfect for sharing. For our entrees, we each got a salad with chicken. My wife had the Caesar, and I had the purple kale, both of which were excellent. The salads were on the larger side, so it was still plenty for an entree. They also had specials available which were not listed on the menu. Our waitress, Susan D, was very informative and attentive throughout the entire meal. She made sure we had everything we needed at all times, and she provided great insight on the menu. We will definitely be dining here again the next time we visit Jekyll island. read more

I recently came here for an early Sunday morning breakfast before leaving the island and I am so glad I did! The restaurant is located inside the Jekyll Ocean Club and the property is gorgeous! Upon entering we were warmly greeted by the hostess and taken to a nice window side table (it was a really chilly morning so we weren't interested in being outside). The server was excellent and very pleasant. I ordered a coffee and the Chicken and Waffle with a side of apple smoked bacon. The side of bacon was perfect. It was thick and crispy and...well...BACON! The Chicken and Waffle was the star of this show though. The chicken breast was brined in pickle juice and while that doesn't sound great...IT'S GREAT! The chicken perfectly fried with a crispy skin that enshrouded a juicy pickle-brined breast. This was the best piece of food I had on the island all weekend! The waffles were delicious and perfectly complimented by the maple butter. The potatoes were perfectly seasoned and perfectly crispy. Everything I had here, plus the service was excellent. I can't wait to return on my next trip to the island. read more
