This was our best dinner experience on island. And our favorite of our entire stay. The food and service were both outstanding. The ambiance was just okay, but the meal itself was so impressive, that it outweighed any negatives -- like the view of guests swimming in the pool. Not only was the meal excellent, but the menu was also unlike any of the other restaurants we'd been to here. The menu, although not large, was creative and had a lot of items not seen on island. And each item ordered was also presented beautifully on the plate. So, taste plus visual appearance. You could tell that the kitchen and the chefs cared about our enjoyment. We started by sharing the romaine hearts salad. The lettuce wedge was topped with fried capers, feta cheese, and a creamy garlic dressing. The dish was halved in the kitchen for us. For our entree, I had the roasted striped bass. The perfectly cooked fish was atop a bed of potato and artichoke puree. There was a layer of olive tapenade that added a salty briny flavor. And an artichoke heart with some micro greens topped it all. It was just delicious. My husband had the diver scallops for his entree. Three large scallops -- expertly golden seared on the outside -- were served with fingerling potatoes, black garlic, bacon, and a peanut "chutney". He said they were the best scallops he's ever had (and is now hesitant to order them anywhere else as he is afraid that he'd be disappointed). He couldn't stop raving about his meal. For dessert, we shared an apple "tart". This was thin layers of pastry with apples, seasoned with cardamom, pecans, and caramel. The dessert was good, but not as good as our main entrees were. We'd both highly recommend this restaurant. It seems more appropriate for adult diners than children -- although there were a few families there. Food was great! I had striped bass which was perfect!! Hubby had special hangar steak but was overcooked... MR requested, came out MW but was tasty with the accoutrements. Fig and goat cheese flatbread phenomenal! Blue crab deviled eggs good but presentation lacking... filling should have been whipped and piped in with pouch. Black and tan was a tan and black!!! We decided to eat lunch here because it was rated number one on tripadvisor and yelp. The restaurant is beautiful and the service was great. However, the food was not great. I had the wedge salad with chicken. The chicken was hard and dry, and the salad lacked enough dressing. My husband had the chicken blt, and he also said his chicken was hard and dry. My mother in law had the shrimp and grits and said it was very good. If we return, we will have to try things other than chicken. read more

Save your money and go to the wharf. Terrible service and food. Our entire charter from the club laughed on our way back about the food quality from the baked cauliflower, pizza, chicken and fish we would have been better off at the wharf again. The food was good, but the restaurant was way too noisy. It ruined our experience. The service was thoughtful but extremely slow.

We were there for Sunday brunch so everything below relates to that. Things might be different at different times of the day. About the best I can say is that the cocktails were good (although $14 for a mimosa is kinda steep). I had avocado toast and it was fine, nothing special, but sort of bland (none of the salt grinders near our table had salt in them). It was supposed to come with grilled shrimp but they never arrived. My side of cheese grits was OK but also needed salt. My friend got the crab toast. She gave me some to taste and it was very bad. It was supposed to be marinated in lemon but had no flavor but fishiness. There was a lot of it and it was essentially inedible. To have something to eat my friend ordered "seasoned" potatoes that were tasteless. The ambiance was so-so. Only a few lights were on but we sat by the window so it wasn't terribly dark. Our waiter was nice and answered all our questions but he seemed unfamiliar with the menu. It took a really long time for our food to come, even though the place was mostly empty (probably a kitchen issue). Our waiter did comp my friend's meal and one of our drinks. All in all, this is not an experience we will seek out in the future. read more

Surprisingly delicious! Arrived expecting another overpriced mediocre meal from the another hotel restaurant. The food was great! I was drawn in by a previous review for the bourbon peach pie, but found out they switch the menu often. At the time of my review, it turns out they only serve brunch and dinner until April. I had the shrimp and grits which comes with andouille sausage, simply delicious! I also had the Georgia peach cobbler, which was amazing. The staff was very polite, helpful, and accommodating. The restaurant had a great layout with seating inside and out, as well as a large seating area of couches for sitting with friends for a before or after dinner cocktail. I recommend everyone stop by and try this place. read more

The wait staff was very accommodating for parents with kids. Crayons for coloring and outdoor seating, although we had reserved inside. Nicole was our waitress, she was sweet, attentive, and gave great recommendations. We shared the cornbread, the Caesar salad, and mussels. Not a bad thing in the bunch and I'm not usually a salad fan. Also enjoyed my Maple & Bacon old fashion. The kids meals all came with fruit, fries, and a cookie. The mussel appetizers are excellent. We got a loaf of bread with it for $4 that was served warm. The scallops and gnudi were ordered as well. My husbands cocktail Georgia heat was the perfect balance of heat and spice. My cocktail was the bacon old fashioned and it was okay. We also got the heirloom carrots. My husband's scallops were cooked perfectly and had all the right accompaniments. My gnudi was served with spinach, carrot puree and jalapeno. The food was terrible. I ordered a fig and goat cheese flatbread. The cheese was mozzarella cheese and was VERY salty. The waiter took it to the chef and I was told that it was goat cheese. Best dinner on the Island last night. Sat outside on the covered porch, server was excellent. Started with the meatball app & the blue crab deviled egg app- both delicious. Dirty martini was perfect w/ blue cheese stuffed olives. Had the Romain salad- amazing, boys had the chowder special/ it was rich and creamy. Entrees were the Red fish & sea bass/ fish cooked perfectly. Dessert was their version of a banana foster- we devoured. Will def be back. read more

Three stars only because the service was super slowwwww!!!! It took 15 minutes to receive drinks. Never ordered a second drink and the people who did order second drinks never got them. The food was good! Not sure why the recommendation for this place was only the burger...so I tried the burger. I was starving so I must say that the burger was quite filing. The whole table ordered burgers that they ran out of them. Only hiccup was the server accidentally dropping a slice of pizza in my purse while trying to place it on the table. This is a beautiful restaurant located on Jekyll. The ambiance is stunning, and the service was efficient for the most part. We had a large party with a reservation. For some reason, even though we had all arrived, our party was seated about 30 minutes after the reserved time. The cornbread appetizer was delicious, and most of our party raved about the scallops. However, the chicken and gnudi dishes left much to be desired. The portion size of the latter was so small; those around me offered their food to me. Kids running around, screaming, no ocean view, shorts and baseball caps. But the meal and the server more than made up for it. The server was knowledgeable about GF options. They did tell me that some items labeled GF are made in a shared frier. I ordered salmon and it was fine. My entire party felt like the food was fine but not memorable enough to make us want to return. Prices are a bit high but what I would expect in the area, $30 to $40 for an entree. Drinks are $15 a piece. Wine ranges around $40ish a bottle. We ordered the salmon, the redfish, crab cakes, a gnudi, mussels (appetizer), lobster bisque, and a goat cheese (appetizer), & 3 drinks. Needless to say, it was A LOT of food and our total was $270ish. We splurged. I would say you should budget at least $50 a person. They do have valet if you want to spruce up your visit! We went here as a group of 8 adults and 5 kids with one being special needs, and everything was great! It was my MIL's birthday celebration, and we brought a cake earlier on which they had no problem taking. The service was above and beyond. My 6 year old has special needs, and went into the restaurant crying and wasn't settling down. Our server was so helpful, and even brought out some toast and butter for her while we waited for her kids pizza. The cocktails are delicious, but the espresso martini was a little stronger than I am used to, but I still drank the entire thing. I had the scallop entree which was so good! Disappointed in the food...turkey was dried out .... salad had very little dressing ....paid $18 extra for 6 baked oysters that were tiny & not tasty at all... asked to take our dessert home & when we got home... an hour away....we realized it was pumpkin pie instead of the chocolate pecan pie we ordered! Pork dish was good as were the sides on all the meals. Waiter was very good... efficient...took care of everything we asked except the pecan pie!!! For $70/person we expected more. You get to this restaurant by walking in the Jekyll Island Club and heading to the right. The atmosphere is lovely. We came here at sunset so the view was awesome. It is fairly dark in the dining room (lights dimmed to set the mood), so it's perfect for a date night. The restaurant design is modern-beach in the best way. Overall, the atmosphere was more suited to adults. We started with drinks, and there were several great options. The Georgia Heat was probably one of the top 5 drinks I've ever had in my life. If you like margaritas, you'll love this. It's not as sour as a marg, but rather a little sweeter. But so refreshing and the tequila comes through perfectly. It was so good my wife and I each got one for "dessert"! As for the food, I would eat here every night and be perfectly happy with it. The food was extremely tasty. The crab hushpuppies were amazing, and they were more savory than regular hushpuppies. However, I wish the portion size of this was larger--you only get 4 of them per order. Also, you have to get the baked Brie. It was served in a small skillet and was perfect for sharing. For our entrees, we each got a salad with chicken. My wife had the Caesar, and I had the purple kale, both of which were excellent. The salads were on the larger side, so it was still plenty for an entree. They also had specials available which were not listed on the menu. Our waitress, Susan D, was very informative and attentive throughout the entire meal. She made sure we had everything we needed at all times, and she provided great insight on the menu. We will definitely be dining here again the next time we visit Jekyll island. read more

I recently came here for an early Sunday morning breakfast before leaving the island and I am so glad I did! The restaurant is located inside the Jekyll Ocean Club and the property is gorgeous! Upon entering we were warmly greeted by the hostess and taken to a nice window side table (it was a really chilly morning so we weren't interested in being outside). The server was excellent and very pleasant. I ordered a coffee and the Chicken and Waffle with a side of apple smoked bacon. The side of bacon was perfect. It was thick and crispy and...well...BACON! The Chicken and Waffle was the star of this show though. The chicken breast was brined in pickle juice and while that doesn't sound great...IT'S GREAT! The chicken perfectly fried with a crispy skin that enshrouded a juicy pickle-brined breast. This was the best piece of food I had on the island all weekend! The waffles were delicious and perfectly complimented by the maple butter. The potatoes were perfectly seasoned and perfectly crispy. Everything I had here, plus the service was excellent. I can't wait to return on my next trip to the island. read more

Stopped here for some food and a drink while on Jekyll Island. The ambiance is a little elevated and everything is dimly lit. We sat at the bar. We ordered the Fig and Goat Cheese pizza (with gluten free crust). I didn't have very high expectations since pizza at the beach usually isn't the best, but I was pleasantly surprised! The figs were big and sweet. The balsamic drizzle cut the sweetness perfectly. I wished there was a little more goat cheese on the pizza but all around it was very good. My husband and I crushed the pizza very quickly. The prices are a little more on the expensive side but it's definitely worth a stop! read more

The menu looked so appetizing here we couldn't resist visiting. We went with an appetite I'll give them 5 stars for service, but otherwise the taste of food was alright. I prefer stronger flavors, and here it seemed like they like to let the ingredients speak for themselves through subtlety. The Brussels spouts needed salt but otherwise the texture was really good. I wished there had been a softer or creamier cheese to pair with the sprouts but the shredded Parmesan at least provided some savoriness to this otherwise lighter app. The stuffed portobello was good! Although it's not actually stuffed, what I liked about this dish is it wasn't all about the cheese. I was worried that since it was a single mushroom it would be too light for an entree, but the way it was served with asparagus spears, pine nut couscous, roasted red peppers, pesto and mozzarella slices made it quite filling. NOTE: the ricotta ravioli is made in a very strong mushroom sauce that is cooked with veal broth. Not suitable for vegetarians. Because we ordered the ravioli without knowing about the veal broth, the manager offered us desserts on the house. The warm bourbon pecan pie was great! And it wasn't overly sweet as I've tasted in some southern restaurants. Overall I'd say the service was great and that there was some great menu options here. In terms of cooking style, I would call it minimalist, or European perhaps- This restaurant is good for people who don't like food overdone both in terms of how it's cooked and in seasoning. If you like to let the ingredients speak for themselves, this is the place for you. read more

This is probably one of most favorite places ever! From the time you enter the lobby to the lounge, it's an understated elegance. The spa like music sets the tone. Upon entering the restaurant, I'm greeted by not one but two hostesses or managers. Friendly and warm. Our table couldn't have been more perfect.. From the view of the open kitchen to the pool.. lovely! Our waiter was prompt and courteous. I believe that it was Clay..or Edgar..we had many take care of us..awesome staff. He took our drink orders and appetizers...can't wait. We ordered the deviled eggs, and of course, the cornbread in an ol timey cast iron skillet along with Savannah Bee Company honeycomb..yummy! On to dinner..where to begin!! Between the chicken and scallops, why not! Side of snap peas in a sesame sauce..can we say absolutely delicious! Lastly, dessert..Chef Hector created Bananas Foster pudding sundae...OMG so ridiculous delicious! Of course, we wanted the SeaTurtle sundae as well...! Why not. Let's share..y'all had to wheel me out...and our guests.. it's an understatement on how delicious everything was...a Michelin Star should be given to 80 Ocean, and Chef Hector Rosano and his staff.. outstanding.. Bravo, since this review, I've been back repeatedly .... I've heard that you have to put in your Thanksgiving reservations now... done!! A disappointing experience. The restaurant was very loud. This was in large part to a group of children who were running around the dining tables and adjacent seating area while their parents sat in the dining area. Service was also a negative. While our server was pleasant and professional, he and his too-few colleagues were overwhelmed. A drink ordered well before the food never arrived until after our dinner was done. And then only because the server went behind the bar himself. Food was just okay - certainly not worth the entree price. read more
