Yum! We had our annual retreat here and dined at The Shore the two nights were there. The menu has many options for several dietary restrictions and presences. We had individuals who were gluten free, vegetarian, and those who are very particular about customization (me, LOL). The shire is located in the lobby of the courtyard Marriott, a great place to stay if you are looking, and there is outdoor seating. Service was amazing! We had reservations for 6pm each night and placed orders ahead of time, and the staff were prompt with helping us feel comfortable as we waited for our orders. We had a group of 14, and were seated across two tables that weren't the same height, so be mindful of group size and seating. But it wasn't terrible. Service was outstanding. Food is good and worth the price you pay. Even if you just get a salad with a protein it is very good greens not just iceberg lettuce with large portion. I one night just had the large salad with shrimp grilled on the side and could not eat the whole salad used it for another nights side dish to a meal. Shout out to the bar girls for their service on drinks even when bar is real busy. Amber thank you for your margarita made my night even better. We were visiting Jekyll island for Christmas, they ended up having a limited menu for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (understandably) the chef (Mike) knew that we had a vegetarian diet and the limited menu was not accessible for us. He made us a special dinner (without us asking) it was pasta with marinara and black bean meatballs and broccoli Alfredo. The food was delicious and it was so sweet for him to make sure we had a delicious meal that accommodated our diets. Great service and very dog friendly as they allowed our dog to dine with us. We were staying at the Residence Inn for vacation and decided to have dinner in at the hotel. We had our dog with us, so they gave us a table outside by the pool. There were fans to sit under with a breeze, and it was quiet around 7 pm with few people sitting outside or swimming in the pool. Our waiter was nice and polite, and he was quick to make sure we got our orders in and waters for the table. I was able to grab a high chair for my toddler son and we looked over the menu. My husband chose the smash burger, and I chose the fried shrimp basket. We got our food quickly and dug in. My husband said he didn't realize the burger was two patties, so it was more burger than he thought it would be. My fried shrimp basket had fries, fried shrimp, and coleslaw. There were plenty of shrimp and fries that filled me. For hotel food we were impressed with the quality and quantities. read more

Located in the lobby of the Courtyard/Residence Inn on Jekyll. The hotel charges you a $20 resort fee per day which you can recoup $10 of it by eating at the restaurant, so we did rather than drive around. We had read the reviews and figured we'd give it a shot. There was quite a line and wait when we got there but because we'd made reservations we were seated right away ... but it was in the lobby area of the bar so it felt a little weird. They were very short staffed (only the manager and two waitstaff) but since we've both waited tables we are patient. Drinks were decent, although we weren't originally given a drink menu and they didn't have the ingredients for my first two choices. Dinner (shrimp and grits and a mahi sandwich) was good but our appetizer came out after. We got the seafood queso dip/chips. Kinda wished we hadn't ordered it as the queso was super runny but had some tasty seafood and andouille sausage in it. Our waitress was a little shook by the drink issues, lack of silverware, and our late arrival of the appetizer, but again we understand and hopefully made her evening easier rather than more difficult. All the staff did a great job with the circumstances. Would choose it again as the hotel had everything we wanted, so why leave? This place is solid if you're looking for an easy spot to grab a bite from the beach or get takeout from ( beware of the 18% service charge b/c they never tell you it will be on your bill ) As for food, their pizza was a little weird, more of a flatbread vibe but the crust was overcooked and crunchy. The wings surprised me, they were large, and saucy with good buffalo flavor. The food was consistently good- our favorite menu items have been the shrimp basket and Alfredo (no longer on the menu). We love their fries- perfect texture! We were served by various staff members that always greeted us with a smile. Definitely busier during dinner, so I recommend going earlier than you want to eat, considering the wait time. The chicken thigh dinner is easily one of the best chicken dishes I have ever had! A generous portion of tasty, tender, lightly fried thighs, over smashed potatoes, with a veggie that varies each day. Plus a wonderful small bowl of country gravy for dipping. Ate at the shore quite often on a week long stay on Jekyll. I think it was four times, since we were staying at the hotel it was very convenient. Enjoyed the food, I had the Mediterranean power bowl, grilled shrimp appetizers which was so so so good, I had a salad one evening with shrimp, and also the pasta bowl with shrimp too. I'd go back for the shrimp. Husbands food was good all the times we ate there except the pizza, which he said was like cafeteria pizza. Ordered drinks each time and we had a male bartender who made the best drinks- honestly a stiff drink that was perfection and he was super fast. One evening we had a very short female bartender that was horrible, she basically ignored us as we tried to order some food after a drink. We actually saw her let another customer come behind the bar and pour her own booze. Bizarre. Other than the pizza and the bartender we loved the shore! Thanks! read more

Management is young and inexperienced. We are retired and well traveled. We decided to eat in the restaurant at the Courtyard Marriott and experienced a cold meal that was overpriced. The young manager spontaneously came to our table to ask about our meal. We voiced our concerns and were told, "Well, you ate the meal". Really? We were staying at the hotel so they had a captive audience. We were tired from traveling and wanted a nice meal before retiring to our rooms. The meal service was horrible, and we waited 25 mins to get our drink order. I went to the bar to ask where our drinks were and was told by rhe blonde bartender that since we were not sitting at the bar she couldn't serve us, we had to get them through our server. I thought the front desk would be interested in our restaurant experience. WRONG! The young man at the desk smiled while listening to my experience and said that's too bad. He said "You already spoke to the manager". This hotel is pricey to eat and stay for second-rate service. Traveler BEWARE!! read more

We checked into the Courtyard/Residence Inn on Jekyll Island this passed Sunday 9/25 and decided to order dinner from the hotel lobby restaurant. The Shore Restaurant had a really nice menu selection and it was just easier for us not to drive around and try to find a place. Jekyll Island is not a big Island. The option to enjoy lunch or dinner at the hotel is a real plus. We ordered a Cobb salad with salmon and a Cobb salad with chicken and two orders of chicken wings. Our food came out hot and was delicious! The salmon was cooked perfectly. We didn't even finish our wings, we were so full. I liked it so much that I ordered from The Shore again at lunch by the pool the next day! I had a market salad with seared Salmon and my husband ordered a grilled Mahi Mahi sandwich with fries. They were so good! I'm serious when I say the food was delicious and cooked perfectly with lots of flavor. This hotel restaurant is definitely a step up from your normal hotel restaurant. The food is excellent, the service is excellent and the convenience is excellent. There is really no reason for us to drive around and find another place. There is plenty of seating by the lobby bar and of course outdoor seating. On the same note, this hotel was a great stay as well. read more

We had been vacationing for about a week, and we had tried the restaurant and found the atmosphere to be relaxing. We dined 4 times. The first time, we had the smashburgers and they were excellent, we had a different waitress, she was ok, not terribly friendly did her job and that was it. The food was very good. The next time we dined we were graced with Kishon. She was so pleasant, kind , accommodating, and most of all genuine. She was slammed....still she managed to get it all done and with a smile and a positive attitude! One day we were very pressed for time, and she was very thoughtful and made every effort to get us in and out! She had recognized us the next time we had come in, and that in itself is highly unusual! Greeted us like friends. I watched as she worked her tail off! She had worked a double that day, and still had energy and was so nice. The food is pretty good. Having been a manager myself, let me tell you, you want all your employees to be like Kishon! The hotel is fine. Very clean, quiet, beautiful pool, great beach. The restaurant in the lobby, called the shore, was outstanding for its grilled chicken sandwich. No stars are deserved at this restaurant. Our server did not have a clue about what their hanger steak meal was. She also could not tell us anything about some of the drinks that we were curious about on their menu. We waited quite a while for our drinks to be served despite the fact, the people that had arrived at the bar after our drink, order were served immediately. When our food arrived, we did not get the sides that were advertised on the menu and had to ask our server for them. The meals were lukewarm at best. The manager came over and asked us how we were doing and we when we expressed our dissatisfaction with the entire experience, he decided to comp us 20% which was a joke. He did this after pointing out that we had eaten most of the food anyway, unbelievable! It was the end of the day on New Year's Eve, and we really were looking forward to relaxing with a couple of drinks and having a light meal. This is a hidden gem on the island for wings. I appreciate how accessible it is in general and enjoy this spot fairly frequently.

We visited a few weeks ago over President's Day weekend. My son and I walked up to check in and they told us it would be about a 40 minute wait, but if we ordered food to go from the other counter it would be faster. We were told about 20-25 minutes. We went to the to go counter and immediately ordered our food. However, it took 80 minutes to get our food and we were charged an additional fee for a to go order which is the equivalent of a tip sitting at a table. We inquired numerous times with the usual response of it is coming. They were very busy and we understood that, however, we would have been better off waiting for table service or given an honest time for a to go order and gone back to the room to wait. I think our order was lost and we inquired for some sort of consideration, but just apologies for taking so long. The food was ok, it wasn't great. I ordered the cobb salad with the wrong dressing I requested and my son had the shrimp basket. read more
