Came for a mid-afternoon lunch after a flight in from Pompano Beach. Wanted gooo food and simple atmosphere and we stumbled on a gem. It's a sports bar/restaurant adjacent to a number of shops. We were seated inside with a view of their outdoor dining and charming moss covered trees. The waitress was prompt and friendly. I was very thirsty after our flight and started with an Arnold Palmer (half tea half lemonade). Quite often these are watered down, but this one was robust. Nice menu with lots of good choices and a few unusual ones - like my husband's "hamburger without the bun" - a large hamburger atop a big mixed salad. He loved it. My grilled hamburger was ordered medium/medium rare and came out perfect. It came with grilled mushrooms, cheese, lettuce, tomato and pickles on a fresh bun - juicy and tasty. But as good or better were the onion rings - perfectly crispy and delicious. I am not exaggerating but my husband and I both thought they were the best we've ever had - and we've been married 52 years! read more

Amazing burgers!! Thick patty that was cooked perfectly. Bacon cheddar cheese and bbq sauce made for a wicked combination. Asked for the fries extra crispy and they were perfect as well. The chicken quesadilla was delicious with a ton of meat, could have used some hot sauce to really bring it over the top. Service was great, place should have better reviews than what is shown. Five of us came here after church today and had a wonderful meal. We were seated quickly despite them being very busy. Our waiter was great and took good care of us. It was very loud so I didn't catch his name. Three people had a chicken Caesar salad, one had a pizza and I had " the special " which was meatloaf, mashed potatoes and green beans. Wow, a huge plate of food and it was all delicious. No boxed potatoes here folks, they are the real deal! Casual place , lots of noise, but we enjoyed the food and our visit. read more

It is worth going to Brogen's North for the steak salad if nothing else. It is a fresh salad with a full ribeye steak on top. Cooked exactly as I requested it is delicious. I have an incredible meal every single time. Tonight the blackened snapper was cooked perfectly, perfectly tiny soft in the middle, very few people know how to cook snapper this precise. Wonderfully fresh. The sweet potato hash was something I've never experienced before, using the most tiny okra, it almost was like the base for a wonderful soup or chowder. Brogans really is a jewel hidden in the open. It made me happy and the staff seems very happy also. Personally, I believe that Miss fair is perfect, the casual place I like and becoming so rare these days. read more

A local told me "Forget the other pizza places, Brogans is the best." And so we dropped everything and headed here for carry out of our Pizza Friday tradition. Went with 2 10" pizzas (Brogen's Standard and South End) and the chicken tenders. It was a perfect amount for two hungry people who also wanted leftovers. The crust was just crispy enough without being too crispy and had a nice butter flavor to it. Perfect topping to pizza ratio. I loved the mix of chicken, bacon, black olives, and jalapeños on the South End. I also need to add that the chicken tenders were really tasty, too. If you need a little more than pizza, these were a great appetizer. read more

Came in yesterday evening for dinner for the first time with family and we had a nice experience. Our waiter was friendly and the place despite being busy, we were seated right away! The restaurant has some arcade games for the kiddos to play to keep them busy, which is nice as well. Now onto the food, my step mother ordered a glass of wine and found lipstick on her wine glass when they brought it out. A bit gross, but they replaced it immediately when she brought it to the waiter's attention. She ordered their Caesar salad with fresh catch salmon and enjoyed it! I split the Brogen's Standard pizza without mushrooms with my father and 17 month old and man it was delicious! They butter the pizza dough, giving it that extra flavor and it's the kind of just the right amount of greasy, extra cheesy pizza you wanna eat. I would definitely recommend stopping in and trying out this place for yourself, I for one will be back to try more items on their menu! read more

Just went in for drinks on Easter. One of the owners opened it up for the day so was fryer food only for all others wanting something to eat. Working in the business I understand and appreciate him opening at all, let alone making food available. He had a full bar and a few tables, we never waited on a drink, he was always right there ready to serve. Hopefully he has influenced his staff to work as hard as he showed us on that day. This my lunch treat to ME, in return for walking through all the wonderful little shops around town. It was a chill Tuesday after Labor Day and just after 12noon. The immediate vibe was cool and casual. The initial plan was to grab a Bloody Mary or a beer, but we quickly realized that it was lunch time, so why not?! Our bartender Mac ( or was it Max?) was on the ball and we had our drinks quickly. The menu was perfect for lunch. My bride had a Rueben, which she loved! I had a bite and could tell that I wasn't getting anymore. I went traditional with the HUGE half-pound bacon cheeseburger. The kitchen SLAYED IT! My medium rare burger was picture perfect and delicious! I like mine "all the way" - lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, mustard, and mayo. YUM! Our fries (regular for my bride and sweet potato for me) were steaming hot and crispy. We also enjoyed one of THE best IPA's in the country, Scofflaw's Basement, a Bloody Mary, and a Guinness. Awful experience tonight. We called in our order to a rude, know it all kind of guy. He tried tacking on extra charges. The menu online says all of the kids meals come with either fries, onion rings or cole slaw. We ordered one kid's chicken fingers meal with onion rings. He charged us an extra dollar for the onion rings. Whatever but when we got home we saw that we received TWO onion rings with that meal. Yes TWO! We also ordered a kid's quesadilla with fries. He tried charging us $3 for the fries. When I questioned him he said he would take off the charge but there was a typo on the menu and a side shouldn't come with the quesadilla. When we got home we found out that the fries were burned. They were inedible. The pizza was good but we were charged $3 for a side of ranch. I do not recommend this place! read more

I've been a customer here for 20+ years. I visit this establishment on average 20 times a year. Generally at lunchtime. Generally it's pretty ok. Occasionally they'll char the burger until it's almost inedible but, usually I'm pleased enough to return. I came in today and waited for a hostess. One looked right at me started to come towards the door but, changed her mind. I then watched her take a ticket to Someones table. Which was pretty close to the wait to be seated area at the front door. Looked at me but, didn't acknowledge me. Close enough to say "I'll be right back" or something. No big deal. Then she retreated once again. A few minutes pass and another fellow walks in. She practically runs to the door. She says to him "What's up Arab?" Says you can come with me and then says "I'm about to be off." takes him to a seat. Cool. Obviously she knows him. Again. No big deal. She does not return. I continue to wait. She glances at me a few more times and nothing. Perhaps it was shift change. A few moments later another group of guys come in. I turn to them and they ask me if there's a wait time. I tell them I guess it depends on who you are. (There are plenty of empty clean tables) I go to leave and the girl that has ignored a waiting customer comes up as I'm walking out. I gave her a thumbs up and left. The hostess in question is quite a tall blonde girl. Unprofessional and rude. This visit really made me angry. I bring my family and friends here. I suggest it for lunch when I'm on the island. I won't be doing that anymore. For the record, the food is pretty consistently OK. Consistency is what I look for. It's not great. It's just generally ok most of the time. It's not good enough to be ignored by the hostess. read more

Overall the food is average and the employees are often quite rude. I've never figured out what the attraction is to this place. We're only here because we were given a gift certificate. Don't go here if you're LGBT. I'm giving them a 4 star because the staff there did nothing wrong, but we got called fags and had to get our meals to go because we felt so uncomfortable. It was game day and we didn't show up in UGA Red, so we were already getting looks. Instead of making us feel at home, a group of ladies decided to mouth slurs at us while we were trying to enjoy our meal. Kind of a buzz kill, but not really the restaurants' fault. It was kind of a sad way to leave the island (as this was our last night and had a good time up until then), but I can't say anything negative about the food or server. I love the food at Brogen's North snd it has been my weekly "go to" place for quite awhile. Today i met a friend for lunch. None of the waitstaff were wearing masks, as is required for dealing with patrons. I questioned our waitress and she went to the back and got her mask, which she wore around her chin, if at all after this. Georgia is clear about what restaurants must do during this pandemic. I'm very alarmed at the inaction of Brogen's management and staff. We will not be returning anytime soon :( read more

I grew up on SSI and Brogen's has been around since the 80's. Went for lunch on a Saturday. Friend and I both had the fried oyster basket with fries. As good as anywhere else. We both liked it. My parental unit had the shrimp quesadilla and she said it was very good. My offspring had the cajun pasta. It was good but very very oily. I mean it was swimmin' in oil and/or butter. Like I said though, it was tasty. I just finished her leftovers for my work lunch today. My sister says they have the best fried shrimp but none of us had it on our visit. Stopped here for lunch while exploring the island a couple of days ago. It was a chilly day so we didn't get to play a round of Baggo (aka Cornhole, Beanbags, etc.) that was set up right outside the front door. Keeping that in mind for warmer Saturdays! Inside was cozy with the feeling of eating in Grandma's kitchen, if her kitchen had multiple tables and thin carpeting. I liked the selection of draft brews, which included a tasty IPA that I ended up ordering 3 of (hey, it's the weekend!). The fried pickles we ordered as an appetizer were perfect; a large portion for a small price, cut into disks (I'm a disk girl, not a spear girl), and served with a generous portion of ranch (the guys I was with were pleased with this). My entree was the "Fish of the Day" Sandwich, which was Redfish, and was giant! Served on a ciabatta bun with lettuce and tomato, the fish was an entire fillet (I chose to have it grilled, but you can also choose fried or blackened) which expanded beyond the width of the buns. The fries were large, wide, and delicious by themselves. Overall, Brogen's was a nice place to get a tasty lunch, although I would LOVE to see more seafood on the menu (shrimp and "fish of the day" are your only options). We will be back! read more

If you can actually get ahold of someone when you call you are doing well. The food was burnt. This was a to-go order and they forgot $20 worth of food. So I called, no answer. I waited a few hours and called again. I told the women we did not get everything and she said let me get my manager. I thought it was weird Bc it was so simple. He got on the phone and said sorry our systems are so old we can't give you money back, If you want to come and get the items we forgot you can. This was our last night on the island and it was 20 minutes away. So final thoughts. Burnt food and poor service. read more

The only decent meal out of the four of us was my daughter's quesadilla and the onion rings we shared. My sons pizza was so greasy, he was practically covered from head to toe in a grease sheen. My husband ordered the prime rib sandwich- literally a slab of gristly steak on a tiny hoagie roll. My crab cake sandwich didn't taste like what I expect from a coastal restaurant but was decent tasting at first. Until I got home and was up all night getting overly familiar with the condo toilet. Best chili dog on the island. All beef weenie that's been to New York and blessed by Rabbis. Firm casing that sounds out a serious pop on the first bite. Meaty Greek chili heavy with paprika rides the bun well. Fresh bun with deep pocket that holds up well. Fresh cold chopped Bermuda's ride on top. It's a big boy, not the kind of thing you can hold in one hand and eat in three bites riding a bicycle. One is a meal. It's dark but seems clean. Beer is cold and service is agreeable. read more

My family won't be back here. We heard great things on social media and it's not too far from our hotel, so we decided to check it out on the first night of our stay - a Friday. We waited 30 minutes and honestly were ok with that to start, but then another family who came in and waited only minutes got sat ahead of us. Then we were put next to a door that opened and closed every few seconds exposing our table to freezing temps - including my 7 month old! Other patrons near us even asked to move because of it and had our food not shown up right then, we would have, too. Once we placed our order it took nearly an hour to get chicken tenders and fries for my daughter, crab cakes and chips for my husband, and a Caesar salad with grilled chicken for me. The food was less than memorable - even my husband who will eat anything didn't finish his meal. The crab cakes tasted like canned crab meat, the chips and fries had no salt and were extremely oily, and he chicken on my salad was hard and burned. Going back to that door - it's near the bar. A gentleman who looked like the owner was behind the bar and, at one point, most of the wait staff was congregating at the bar register, right beside that door. It kept getting stuck open freezing out our table and my husband had to keep getting up to close it. Not one time did a manager, bartender or wait staff touch that door. Disappointing. The only bright and shining star in the whole establishment was one gentleman clearing tables. I never saw him stand still and he always had a smile on his face. He helped us get a high chair when we first got there, even wiping it down twice to make sure it was good for my son, and then helping another table of patrons move to a different table because of that door later in our stay. As I said, we won't be back. While the wait staff didn't do anything to redeem the restaurant, I feel the root cause of the problem was the kitchen - super slow turnover times lead to long wait times, meaning grumpier customers and more exposure to that door! read more
