We ordered the frickles and fried mushrooms. Both were crispy and delicious. I ordered the fried flounder and fried shrimp. Both were scrumptious. Fried to perfection and seasoned beautifully. My husband ordered the burnt ends link and was impressed. He said it was juicy and delicious. The only thing I would slightly criticize is the fries. They were seasoned fries but they weren't crispy. They just needed to be fried again or fried longer. Also, our waitress was attentive and extremely pleasant. I would highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Friday afternoon, here is what we liked: * Immediate seating for a big group. Was much busier by the time we left. *They know how to serve a beer, nice and cold. *Liked the coleslaw, sweet flavor. * The chicken and waffles were good, nice piece of chicken and the strawberry butter. What could of been better: *The buffalo tots- just soggy tots. Had lots of chicken but the soggy tots *Fried pickles just not crisp, limp and soggy. Paired well with the soggy tots. *Collard greens, just dull and little flavor, * The BLT had bacon that was inspiring. Bacon is a delicious, this was just chewy cardboard. *The hot dog was a greasy sausage with a bun that wasn't the freshest. Was really disappointed with this item, Overall we had a good time, waitstaff was friendly. Would definitely stop in for a cold beer and chicken strips. The rest was a no for me. read more

The food was excellent. I haven't had a hamburger this good forever. It's grilled and seared which brought back memories of old style hamburgers. My wife got the Nashville chicken sandwich which was again outstanding. We ordered 2 bloody Mary's which were also great. This place is like and old style eatery and the service was great. Nice happy people with smiles on their faces. It has a great sports bar vibe with TVs everywhere. Highly highly recommended read more

Kristin makes THE BEST BLOODY MARY!!! We've been road tripping U.S. 1 and A1A (Jimmy Buffet memorial highway) from Key West north and trying the bloody Mary's along the way. Although there have been a ton of unique experiences at local dives with amazing local feel and fun, I have to give the best bloody and southern charm awards to Kristen at Downtown Cooter Brown's!!! Knock you back and make you holler good! From the muddling of the spices and jalapenos to the subtle but oh so flavorful presentation, her Mary is hands down best ever! read more

Downtown Cooter Brown's - BEST EVER Bloody Mary! - Sports Bars Near Me - Brunswick, Georgia

Stopped here while traveling back to Florida. Wasn't the highest rated seafood spot in Brunswick but it was downtown where we wanted to be and the other spot was in some generic shopping center. Still a 4.2 Yelp rating isn't bad. Very much a sports bar feel with lots of tvs. Ordered a couple cocktails, shrimp and grits, fried okra, and the shrimp tacos. I have to say the food was absolutely amazing. Everything tasted so fresh and was so yummy. I might have to plan a trip up to Brunswick just to come back and eat here again! read more

Nestled in downtown. This place was a solid lunch stop. TV's, full bar and seating for small groups and big groups. Overall clean and organized. Our waitress was quick and made sure we had everything we need. Food was solid. Everyone liked their food. This is a good stop for some good food and bar style food. I would return. read more

Well let's start with our great server Rachel. She was friendly, gave great suggestions and was super to talk to. When we discussed my wife's bell pepper allergy, she immediately informed the kitchen to be sure everything was cleaned before her order was started. You just can't get that kind of service anymore. We started with the chili tots. Crispy tots, smothered in chili, queso, sour cream and green onions. The last bite was still crispy and never got mushy. These are highly recommended. For an entree I had the chicken and waffles. 2 huge chicken tenders tossed in hot honey. Waffles made in house with strawberry butter. This was the most perfectly matched chicken and waffle I have ever eaten. The place is primarily a bar, so it's that kind of atmosphere but the food far surpasses that of bar food. Please don't miss this place. read more

This is a great new venue in Brunswick, ga on the up and coming Newcastle Street!!! It is a bar/restaurant. The bar is located in the middle of the restaurant with tables all around the bar. We went the very first night they were officially open and were very pleased with the drinks and food offerings. I did get some wings but we were headed out to another place to eat. The wings were prepared perfectly and I had them with mild buffalo sauce. Excellent! My husband had a margarita and I had a special from the menu ...both were served with a smile. We will go back, in fact we did but there was not as much seating because of 1st Friday. They removed the bar stools from 1/2 of the bar to accommodate more people, and give servers some room. This is going to be a go-to downtown location for sure.!!! All my best to you and keep up the great job!!! Directly across from Silver Bluff!!! read more

What a cute place!! We came in for lunch and Rachel greeted us. She was so friendly and told to have a seat. She grabbed our drinks and then asked if we wanted an appetizer. We got the tatter tots - first these are made with chili, so I had to talk about my allergy and make sure there wasn't peppers in it. She double checked and made sure everyone was aware so nothing with peppers would be near my food. So the Tots were amazing!!! So good!!! The flavor of the chicken tenders were great!! Will be back!! read more

NOT WORTH IT So usually, our service is pretty good. Today, however, we experienced about a 35-minute on two chicken quesadilla. The food came out hot, but the lettuce had been sitting under a heater and got wilted and was very unsatisfying. The worst part about the experience was that we were only a handful of people in the bar at the time, and the owners were there. They were very engaged in taking social media photos of their new and highlighted drink menu and also drinking those same drinks that were being used for this marketing and social opportunity. The disappointment was everyone was so distracted with the owners there. The owners never even came to us and said, hi, how are things going? And when we left, no one said bye. It was just so disappointing, distracting, and I want people to know that we are locals that could have been a regular at this establishment. Due to the owner's lack of customer service and the poor food experience we will choose other places in the future to go to in Brunswick GA downtown area. read more

Stopped her for lunch while camping in Brunswick,Ga. Good crowd at lunch time. We were greeted immediately and told to take any seat. Huge bar in center with seating around the outside. I had water and my husband enjoyed an Aperol Spritz. For lunch I enjoyed their chicken salad on toasted wheat with a side or tater tots. Husband had the mushroom Swiss burger with fries. I was here for one of the recent first Friday events downtown, Cooter Browns was slammed, but we somehow still got a table for 4 without much of a wait. Our server was amazing and she was a lot of fun. She recommended this brisket dog, and I can't stop telling people about how amazing it is. Just imagine the fluffiest hotdog bun you can think of, with a brisket hotdog sliced in the middle stuffed with sautéed onions and peppers. If i wasn't so full I would have ordered another one! read more

Has a big bar and lots of tv screens for watching sports. The food was also really good. They have a large menu with lots of good options. Our favorite was the fried pickles. They had the perfect balance of pickle to breading. Only complaint was that the waitstaff was not particularly friendly. read more

Stopped in on our way through town for dinner and because we wanted to catch a basketball game. Plenty of TVs and a very welcoming vibe. Bartenders were friendly and hospitable. We had soup and a burger, both were excellent. The collard greens side was exceptional. They could do with turning the lights down a little on a Saturday night, but that's a personal preference so not worth a knock! read more

A great hamburger and fries that taste just like the old Ollie's Trolleys fries in Atlanta. Great service, good food! Give it a try.

The service is slow at best. 15 min to get a refill on a coke. 45 min to get a burger. The servers are extremely nice but more attentive to regulars than first timers. With all that being said the food is really good. I will come back again and try a different day of the week. It might just be the Sunday atmosphere. read more

I've yet to have a bad meal. Most are superlative. The service is great. It's a little small & the noise can get close to intolerable because of the hard surfaces. "Cooter" has weekday specials; all I've had to date are fantastic. The chicken wings are the best downtown; they are plump, moist and have a "just perfect" coating of sauce. The menu adult drink choices are limited, but the bartenders are accommodating. Plus: as I write Paul #Finebaum is on no fewer than five screens! (IYKYK) What more could a sports fan need! read more

The food was great and the service was excellent!!!!!! The atmosphere is fun and the menu is wonderful.

Well, I gave it a three time try and I'm still equally disappointed the third time as I was the first the prices were absolutely ridiculous. $17 for a steak steak sandwich the other time I had the grouper dish and it came out the size of a golf ball And drink prices were just absolutely nuts two or three bills were over $80 and that's just ridiculous for a bar that sells burgers. The staff was great, but I have to give it a D on everything else and won't be back. read more

We went two times. First time we were seated and no one approached us. We left after 20 minutes of waiting. 2nd visit was better. Server was extremely nice and attentive. Outside of that, not impressed. What we ordered was not good, and portion sizes were weak. Atmosphere is pleasant. Not too loud and not too crowded. read more

Great for a quick bite and some good drinks! If you are a sports lover, there are many tvs playing some of the local games.

The service is top tier, the food is delicious, and the space feels comfortable and welcoming. Plenty of tv's for the sports fans. Chairs wrap around the bar and offer full service. TouchTunes is available to play anything your heart desires. I will say the dinner rush can get pretty busy and full, but give this place a try if you haven't already. Service was great; food not so much. Both the grouper sandwich and shrimp po boy were lacking. Usually the fish fillets are larger than the bun; not here. One member of our party had the Philly cheesesteak, same issue; the meat only covered about 3/4 of the bun. I'm a local and want all locally owned businesses do well but, as it stands, I won't return. read more

We went for lunch and had the nachos and CB shrimp appetizers. The nachos were generously topped and the salsa served with it was perfect. The CB shrimp was a hit with us. I had the wings and they were good. Mild buffalo flavored with some fries and definitely above average there. The bar is in the middle and there were countless big screen TV's with various sport channels on. Pork grinds for the appetizer were disappointing and over priced but overall if you're downtown and there are games on definitely a good place to have a couple drinks and have some wings or a sandwich read more

I don't usually leave reviews but I feel like the restaurant has so much potential to be good. I ordered the sweet heat burger and Mac and cheese, I liked the idea of the sweet heat burger but the burger was so bland that all I could taste was cream cheese. What little I could taste of the jam was amazing though. The Mac and cheese was not great it was grainy, had no flavor, and was dry. I hope this gets considered because I like this place but at the price point and lack of much flavor I don't see it lasting long as much more than a bar read more
