Terrible food and equally poor service. NOTHING is fresh or homemade, EVERYTHING is from nasty frozen stock. The server's #1 goal is to get you out of the place. They bring the payment machine, not at your request, but as soon as they see fit. Then they start cleaning up the table while you're still there. Disrespectful, sad, dirty little place. It literally amazes me that Brogen'e can stay in business with so many other good eats within walking distance like Zuzu's, Barbara Jeans etc. This place is trash. read more

We came on a Saturday when they were fairly busy, but service was still amazing! My niece was ready to order, but we wanted to enjoy cocktails first. We were never rushed to order. The Planters Punch cocktail was great! My niece raved about their wings, and when I tried one of hers, she was right! They are some of the best wings I've had! Came here in February and came back this week. Last time we ate outside and enjoyed that. This time we were inside. I liked sitting outside and enjoying the nice weather. Inside it was just a regular pub/bar. They had TVs with sports on. Enjoyed our food. The hush puppies were delicious. My husband got wings and they grill them quickly at the end. He wasn't a fan, as it dried them out. (He doesn't like them with ranch or blue cheese, so maybe that would make a difference.) read more

We weren't expecting much at first as this was the only place that didn't have a long wait compared to the others in the area at the same time. My husband and I recently visited St Simons Island for our anniversary. During our stay we went to Brogens. We started with the fried green tomatoes which were to die for. For entrees, I ordered the fish sandwich which came blackened and he ordered the ribeye sandwich. Both were delish and came out super quick. Our server, Cory, was friendly, funny, and on top of things. We ordered on his recommendations and they did not disappoint. We will be returning after an overall great experience! read more

Here me out. Get the shrimp salad with thousand island dressing. Ask for extra avocado 2x, Tabasco sauce and 4 packs of crackers. The servers are amazing and will accommodate you. Combine ingredients with some dashes of Tabasco sauce. Mix well. Absolutely perfecto. Delicious and reminds me of my vacations in Mexico. Checking out restaurants in the area and this one was suggested as a fun place to go. I went on a Monday night, it was pretty slow, but it delivered a solid product. I was part of a larger group. Our waitress did a great job managing the orders and keeping us supplied with refreshments. She also did well in keeping everything straight for our bills. The drinks were good. I ordered deep fried shrimp and French fries. It came with a small side of coleslaw. Everything came out appropriately hot and tasted good. My dining partners seemed to like the food they ordered and also felt our waitress did a good job. Overall, the restaurant was good; however, prices were somewhat high for the food and drink ordered. Stopped in for a late dinner was so surprised by the exemplary service we were given by Lillie. Drinks came fast & right with tasty recommendations she gave us for dinner. The night was perfect with a lite mist sitting up top on the porch was fantastic. This review is very late. We went to an antique sale a few Saturdays ago and the closest restaurant we came across was Brogens. There was a long wait. First they tried to seat us at like a bar rail overlooking the parking lot. The sun was blinding. I got the hostess to agree to let us sit at a table they were apparently trying to hold for a party of 4. I had a chicken sandwich and my wife had a burger. I ordered the club sandwich with sweet potato fries & a Los Bravos's beer on tap. My wife ordered the smoked turkey sandwich with sweet potato fries & a sprite. Had lunch with a friend and had a very nice time. Server was nice & attentive and paid the right amount of attention while we dined. I had the chili w/onions as an appetizer. Good serving and a good basic chili. Not spicy but nice & thick with the right amount of chili pepper. The mahi mahi tacos were very good with a nice filet in each taco. From beginning to end the service here was a complete disappointment. We waited for our table for about 20 minutes, which is not a problem, but there were several empty tables, and several families that arrived after us were seated immediately both outside and inside. It truly felt like the hostess was intentionally avoiding seating us. When we asked what ciders were available, the waitress stated she did not know and would ask. When she came back, she stated they had "bottled" cider. We asked what ciders were bottled, and she laughed in annoyance and said she did not know. Next, we got an order of hush puppies which arrived burnt. We asked three different people for a side of butter as we had waited probably 30 minutes and it had not been brought. Each server acted very annoyed at our request. One even came by and asked us if we were doing ok and if there was anything he could get for us, and we said that we had been waiting on a side of butter and asked if he could check on it. He then sighed and said "it will be a few minutes..." -- ok, then don't ask if we need anything... When the food arrived, the bacon cheeseburger did not have bacon. At that point, we had such a difficult time with the service that we didn't even bother mentioning it. We also could not get someone to come by and check on us for a box, so we resorted to getting up and getting one ourselves. We were truly questioning if we were being targeted and if we had done something wrong because the service was that bad. However, we noticed the family seated beside us was also having many of the same problems (not being brought their drinks, menu items missing, asking for items several times) so I guess this is truly an establishment-wide issue. I am totally understanding of a restaraunt being short staffed or slammed -- that is not an issue. The issue lies in the employees treating us like we were a complete pain and inconvenience for asking for the bare minimum and having requests when were asked if we had any requests. I am never one to write reviews, but I was so disappointed with our experience that something truly needs to change with management and/or how their business is run. We were so excited to try this place as it had been recommended to us by friends who loved the atmosphere; however, things have certainly declined since that time. I really would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Horrible Experience. We Were Harassed. This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. My wife and I came in expecting a peaceful night out and instead left feeling humiliated and disrespected. From the start, the staff was rude. The hostess barely acknowledged us and seated us in a corner even though the place was half empty. Our server acted annoyed from the moment he approached us, brushing off our questions and giving my wife an attitude for asking about dietary options. Then it crossed a serious line. As we waited for our food (which never came), we noticed several staff members whispering and laughing in our direction. One waiter passed our table and made an extremely inappropriate comment aimed at my wife. We were stunned. I asked to speak with the manager, who not only refused to take it seriously but laughed and told us to "lighten up." No apology, no accountability--just excuses. We got up and left, and the manager had the nerve to say we'd be charged anyway. I told him we weren't paying a cent for being harassed in a place we came to enjoy. His final words? "You should've stayed home if you're that sensitive." Absolutely disgusting. This wasn't just bad service--it was personal, degrading, and completely unprofessional. I'll be warning everyone I know. I will say that the place looks pretty rundown, and gives me more of a bar vibe, then a restaurant. On the other hand, we ordered a Cobb salad because it was so hot and wanted something not too heavy and it was way more delicious and fresh than I thought it would be.
