I was in Jekyll Island for a conference and ate at Wee Pub, and it ended up being one of my favorite places of the whole trip. It was perfect whether I was eating alone or with other people. The atmosphere was warm, friendly, and comfortable, and it really did feel like stepping into a cozy Irish pub. The servers were wonderful, the bartender was great, and everyone around us seemed happy. The food was fantastic. I had the steak and cheese hoagie, and it was made with real steak. The peppers and onions were absolutely amazing, and the whole sandwich was one of the best I have ever had. I also had the shrimp and grits, and they were the best I have ever had--ever. They were savory, rich, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. You can tell the chef cares deeply about both quality and presentation. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and generous without being overdone. One of my friends had the drunken chicken salad, and it was marinated and cooked perfectly. I saw several dishes come out while I was there, and I never heard one complaint from anyone. The desserts were also incredible. The butter cake was rich, had a beautiful texture, and was drizzled with raspberry sauce. I also tried the bread pudding after hearing people talk about it, and while the presentation surprised me at first because it was cut into little cubes, the taste was absolutely wonderful. I only got one picture, of my shrimp and bread, because everything else disappeared before we remembered to take photos. That probably says it all. There are a lot of places to eat on Jekyll Island, but Wee Pub is absolutely worth it. It is right across from the convention center on the corner, and I would go back in a heartbeat. read more

We really loved this little pub in the beach village. The Irish theme was cute and the side dishes were fantastic. I recommend trying the side of grits with gravy if you want the taste of the shrimp and grits without the much bigger cost for the shrimp. I loved the flavors of everything. Food here is solid and does give authentic flavors. Service was fast, and the decor definitely fit the feel for an Irish pub. I don't think I had a bad bite. Very pleasant experience. Fish and chips had proper texture, champ side reminded me of French onion soup but with mashed potato. We skipped the shrimp, but I could see how the shrimp and grits are above average based on the side we had. The desserts, while both delicious, I think we came to the consensus that we liked the butter cake better. I would like to see a better selection of beers on draught. Specifically, craft beers. I don't recall any local options. Not sure if Wee Pub will make my all-time list or anything, but a solid option when you're vacationing at the island. read more

Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? The reviews were great... My food, not so much. I was craving a Reuben and it certainly was not the greatest. Very little on it and the bread was extremely soggy. Fries were good though! I also don't recommend ordering a Blue Moon on draft. Either it had been sitting too long or their lines are dirty. I order a Blue Moon everywhere I go if they have it on draft. And theirs was not good. Skunky, I guess you'd say. Kellon and Josh were decent behind the bar, nothing exceptional. read more

I'm giving one star because the food was good. We entered the pub when there were several open tables. We were told they were all reserved. No worries, we sat our 4 people at the bar. The bar was covered with dirty plates and cups that hadn't been cleared. Totally fine, they'll get to it. We were able to order alcoholic drinks and got them pretty fast. Except for my mother in law who waited probably 30 mins for a water. When the first drink was done, we pushed them to the top of the bar and waited for the bartenders to address us. To no avail. 15 mins later had to flag the bartenders down. Ordered food. Food came out nice! No napkins or silverware. Couldn't get napkins after asking a server that went by. Got up and went to the host stand to ask for napkins and finally got them. Won't be coming back. read more

Stumbled into here right at open (11am) mid cheer competition. There was a long line but they got us all seated and going very smoothly. Potato soup had great toppings but wasn't as chunky as I hope just a few potatoes and could have used some spices. Salt and Pepper helped a lot. Kids shrimp meal has huge shrimp and fresh crispy fries. Bangers and Mash was flavorful and cozy with a lot of French onion flavor (heaven). Everyone was friendly and food was fast and fresh. We walked over for dinner as we were staying nearby. The place was busy as there was a convention at the hotel. We sat outside at one of the few tables. Our server was great. She checked on us regularly and made sure our drinks were full. The food came out very quickly. The shrimp basket was really good with lots of large shrimp. There were tons of fries under those shrimp and hush puppies. The turkey melt was really good and included pineapple! It could have been a little warmer though. We ate here a year ago and had gotten the chicken tenders. A great place for pub food. read more

The Wee Pub on Jekyll island is a staple that you should visit while there. It is a super fun atmosphere, clean place and very friendly staff! We stopped for lunch and had a great server named Gavin. We all had drinks to start and then mains to eat. One of us had the fish tacos. They had a huge piece of white fish and delish salsa with them. Another had the bacon cheeseburger with fries. It was juicy, perfectly cooked and the fries were crispy. I had the fried wild shrimp and champ. The shrimp were the best ones I've had on my trip so far. Thin breading that was seasoned so well. The champ was chunky and full of flavor. It also came with hush puppies and a great cocktail sauce. Def recommend! read more

Great dinner at the Pub. Service and food were both outstanding. Our server Gavin had quite the personality. Really upbeat and loved his Bulldogs. We had the cottage pie which was recommended by Gavin, wings and a salad. Every spoonful of the pie was filled with potatoes, cheese, meat, peas and carrots. Then a little gravy to top it off. We usually order our wings extra crispy but forgot tonight. They were perfect-crispy and the hot and teriyaki were flavorful. For a pub stop, this one was out of the park. We had an excellent lunch here. We sat at the bar and got very good service. We both ordered burgers which had to be some of the best we've had in a very long time. I got a bacon burger (no cheese) and swapped the fries for their "champ" mashed potatoes. He got their blue cheese burger and the mashed potatoes, as well. Both burgers were a tasty mix of beef and perfectly cooked medium well (it says so on the menu, so if you don't want it that way be sure to ask). His burger was dripping with a blue cheese sauce. My bacon burger was just delicious. It came with a few slices of bacon plus pickles, lettuce and tomato on an eggy soft bun. It was large, but I managed to eat it all. The champ potatoes come with scallions. I left them off mine and he kept his. The potatoes are mashed with their skins and come topped with a brown gravy. It was served in a small cup on the side of the burger plate. I got extra gravy. They, too, were wonderful. I just had a soda to drink while he had a harps beer. They have a large adult beverages menu and a number of beers both on tap and in the bottle, plus a full bar of alcohol -- should you wish to try one of their signature creative cocktails. They have a wide menu. The guy next to us enjoyed an order of saucy wings. And they have cottage pie and a few other "Irish" dishes plus sandwiches and soups, etc. I'd come back here in a heart beat. This is the 2nd time I have been to the Wee Pub on Jekyll. We came for New Year's Eve and had a fun time. The band Gravity Bomb started at 10PM & played to about 1AM. They were very good and played a variety of music from The Church to Hall & Oates. Very talented! Wee Pub serves pitchers of beer and was $18 for Miller Lite. The food was good as wife & I had the traditional Rueben with sauerkraut and thousand island dressing along with onion rings. The corned beef was tender and not stringy & the rings were very good too.. My wife also had their mashed potatoes and she said they were smooth and very good! After several great food experiences on the island, my family and I were surprised that Wee Pub was disappointing. It was packed when we got there, usually a good sign. Started with the crab dip. The dip was fantastic, very taste, tortilla chips were okay but a little stale. I then had the wings, nothing at all to write home about. Same for the salad, it looked great but lacked pizzazz. Like many restaurants these days, but especially on Jekyll, they seemed short staffed (tables needed bussing, etc) However, once we were seated outside, Chelsea came out to get our orders and it all went uphill from there! She seemed to be serving people inside as well as outside. Organized & friendly she never missed a beat. We were very please! My husband had the fish tacos that he said were very good. Dinner with my friend who was staying on the island, I stopped here after taking a nice drive around the island. We had great service, sitting outside and enjoying the ocean breeze while we had dinner. Just a basket of boneless wings for me in hot sauce and with blue cheese. Nothing special but they were served hot and the sauce did have some "go" to them. Beers were refreshed and we had a nice meal. We were staying on Jekyll for Mother's Day weekend. Wee Pub was on our list and I am happy we got to eat here. It was busy but there was outside seating available. The inside is decorated as you would think an Irish pub would be. Flags, lights, ect. Our server took our drink order soon after we sat. I ordered a cherry coke and my husband had a Smithicks draft. Their menu has some Irish pub staples. We both got the half sandwich meal that was $9.99(great deal). I got half a Ruben and side salad. Hubby got half the philly and potato soup. For our son we got the kids fish n chips. A large piece of fish perfectly cooked with hot crispy fries. We orderer their "Award Winning Butter Pecan Bread Pudding" to go. We ate it back at our hotel. It was so amazing...a little rich so I would recommend getting a scoop of ice cream if you order to eat at the restaurant. . Everything was so delicious! We didn't have a complaint about anything. The next night we were exhausted after being at the water park all day that we wanted to order take out. So we tried their wings. We got 20 wings. 10 lemon pepper and 10 plain with sweet chili sauce on the side (was recommended). They came hot and crispy! We loved them. And even ate them cold later in the night. Lemon pepper was the winning flavor. We ordered the hotdog kids meal for our son. It was a basic hotdog but their fries are so yummy. I was craving some veggies and we ordered their veggie of the day. Which was broccoli, it had flavor! Usually they are plain steamed broccoli. It has a little garlic and was so delicious! We visited Jekyl Island and stopped in at Wee Pub Beach after seeing they had a happy hour on their website. The place was nice. Empty Jameson bottles line the the shelves with names of those who finished the last drink from the bottle. We sat at the bar. The place was mostly empty considering it was a bit after 3pm on a Monday. Later patrons were golfers. We ordered draft beers. They were cold. Tasted great on a hot day. We ordered some food. I had a bacon cheeseburger and fries and my hubby ordered chicken wings- traditional with spicy bbq on the side. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. While we waited we had another cold draft. My hamburger was hot and the bacon was perfect. The lettuce was cold as was the tiny tomato slice. The French fries were also hot and crunchy. Yum! Delicious. The wings were hot and tasted ok. The bartender was attentive. When we got our bill, we asked about the happy hour and the bartender said "they quit doing happy hour this week". Well it's Monday so that's weird. We pulled it up on the website to show her but she shrugged it off - saying they quit it- "a while ago" :/. It's not a lot of money to fuss with, but that was uncomfortable. We paid our tab in full with a tip. read more
