We really like the Wee Pub Beach on Jekyll, so we came here because we were in Brunswick and our friends were here, too. My husband got the fish and chops with onion rings. Both were good, but not quite as good as at Wee Pub beach. The reason for the 1-star rating is that I had a cheeseburger, and the meat was spoiled. Even though it was rare, it was grey instead of pink. I took a bite and it was nasty. Surely the chef knew this meat was old, because the color and odor would have told him. It was cheerfully replaced with a pink burger, but nobody apologized, and honestly, this should never have happened. We will not return. read more

You walk in and it's dismal...tables dirty, napkins on floor, windows dirty...two barmaid would rather stay at bar than take pride where you work and clean the small things, at least. Had dinner...no silverware, no lemon wedges, cook had to serve us and she wasn't even dressed for kitchen duty. Cook tried to be as attentive, but has other duties she was hired for. Ended paying over 60 dollars for a lunch basket of items...coleslaw was good but served in a ketchup sized cup..two forks worth...take some pride people. Food if you can get is sub par at best an hour wait is crazy. It's an Irish pub not fine dining so why can't they get the food out . The bar was a sticky mess and I asked for someone to just wipe it down in front of my wife and myself and I got a dirty look. I ended up going to the bathroom to wet some towels and do it myself. The food was pretty good but expensive. I think what made me angry is our drinks. We each ordered a drink, then my husband ordered a second. The drink was pretty heavy even though he did order a double. When we got our check, they charged us for a double so for his drinks it cost $25.50 (charged for 3 drinks for him). If you make a mistake and pour a double that the customer did not order, the customer shouldn't be charged. Seems like they were pushing to make more money and that's pretty deceptive! Take out was okay. Not that impressed with service. Nachos were ordered without Jalapenos but they diced them up and added them in. You couldn't pick them out. Grilled Chicken for Caesar Salad was dry. We'll try a different restaurant next time we visit. read more

My best friend lives in Jacksonville and I'm in Savannah. We meet halfway in Brunswick about once a month to hangout. We got pedicures in the same strip mall that this place is located and we're starving when we left so we decided to give this place a try. I loved the shamrock on the wooden door. The menu isn't large BUT we had a hard time choosing. Everything sounded delicious. Our waiter was friendly and kept us laughing and took great care of us. I wish I could remember his name but he had a beard. The food was very tasty. I got fish and chips and my friend got the Philly steak sandwich and onion rings. We split and shared our meals and both were really good! We also shared bread pudding for dessert. We agreed this will be our go to spot when we have our girl day adventures. The bartender there sucks when they overcharge you for drinks and you politely ask them to take it off your tab they make a big deal about it even though you know exactly how many drinks you have, and you are only asking them to take off two drinks out of like 13. they will laugh in your face and take shots and put it on your tab like you ordered it. The owner does not check the cameras and does not care that his bartenders drink while they are at the bar and put it on paying customers tab. read more

Hands down the worst restaurant experience I have had in years. I went here about a week ago with friends and while the food was good, the service was lacking. Poor knowledge of menu items and beer selections, coupled with inattentiveness and nonchalance, left me underwhelmed. I chalked it up to an off night and gave the place another try today. This was a serious lapse in judgement. I should have known how it was going to go after we asked for drinks and were left alone for about 10 mins in a place not even a quarter full. Then we ordered food, nothing complex, no substitutions. It was nearly an hour when we asked what was taking so long and the server said it would be a few minutes. A few minutes later, a larger table next to us received their food. They arrived 30 minutes after us. When we asked the server what was taking so long they stated all the people had arrived at the same time and all the tickets are flooded the kitchen. Clearly this was not the truth since the table next to us, behind us, and across the restaurant, had all arrived after us were receiving food. This was a real tipping point. It was nearly 2 hours before we revived our food. I know this without seeing a clock because my wife was running a marathon and reached te halfway point when we were seated. She finished shortly after we received our food which was 2 hours and 15 minutes of running. To add insult to injury, my burger came undressed and after I politely asked for the toppings, I was provided the single pickle, tomato slice, and lettuce stem which are in the picture. The server even told me, she didn't think I would want it. I asked her if this was a joke because at that point I figured there was no way any of this was intentional. Now, the food was good. However, I can't wait hours for bar food, suffer poor service, and be satisfied. Even after talking to staff there was no attempt made by them to remedy anything. read more

I am going to leave a mixed review even though I gave 4 stars. I hesitate leave less than 4 anywhere. Every restaurant has good and bad nights. The pros are: -the wings were very good and just the right size-not too big and not too small. I had sweet Thai chili and my dad had hot and both were very good. -homemade chips were really good -wait staff was very and so was the front house manager -very reasonably priced menu The cons: -service was painfully slow -my draft beer was warm -the wings were lukewarm at best -you can't serve saucy wings without napkins!! -the table was stickyand I sat at the same table last time I was here and it was sticky. she assured me it was wiped down but didn't offer to wipe it down again. -in regards to the covid precautions they don't put napkins or condiments on the table which is normal in these times but why nobody wears a mask? If you don't care about yourself maybe you should care about your parents or your grandparents or your kids? I just moved here and this restaurant is so perfectly convenient for where I moved to but I'm not sure if I can come back again due to the cons above. read more

Meh. Decent, though limited, pub grub, but nothing particularly Irish about the menu: nachos, artichoke dip, beer battered fries, burgers, fried cod. My wife said the burger was very good. Service is dodgy: there on a Saturday, and they were understaffed, 1 server & 2 bar staff for a near full room (server working at least 8 tables.) Opening on Sunday, it was 2&2, though we were the only people in the bar for 30 minutes. Waitress entered a medium burger as "no pink" though it was served slightly pink so that worked out. Drinks are expensive: $5.50 for a pint of Guinness (US pint, not a proper pint) and coffee & tea are both $2.49 per cup. Yes, per cup: no free refills, and even though I declined a coffee refill, I was charged for one anyway. Bottom line, not bad, but if I can find another place to watch Liverpool matches when I'm in Brunswick, I won't be back. read more

Here's just one of the myriad reasons I love the gf: she suggested Wee Pub for lunch, Mind you, pubs and bars and such are not her usual haunts, as she doesn't drink much and loathes beer particularly. So this suggestion was a selfless gesture on her part. And a good one too. Wee Pub has the look and feel of a traditional pub, albeit one that seems spanking-new and clean, and modern. There's lots of polished wood and some decor to recall the Auld Sod. Dining tables skirt a full bar, above which several TVs hang for sports fans. They weren't busy when we entered, midday on a Thursday., so we chose a table at will. Emmy was along promptly to take our drink orders and inform us of the daily specials. The gf was driving, so she had a soda ($2.39); I opted for the pint of Guinness ($5.50). Both were fine of course. One of the Daily Lunch Specials ($4.99) was bangers & mash, which sounded good to me. The gf went for a steak salad ($8.99). We had not long to wait before our lunches arrived. The bangers & mash (sausages over mashed potatoes with gravy, for those unfamiliar) was tasty, and plentiful. A sprinkling of sauteed onions added flavor -- wisely, as the sausages themselves were on the bland side. The gf's steak salad, a generous portion, came with the steak strips well-done, as she requested, and the gf pronounced it as good as it appeared. In brief, we had a tasty and filling lunch in a pleasant place for a reasonable price. I couldn't have asked for more. And by the time I finished my Guinness, I loved the gf more than ever. read more

I've been to this same location in Brunswick several times and the service has always been extremely slow so I stopped going. But I went last night with friends. My husband and I ordered "top shelf" margaritas, which we always do when we go to any restaurant. There is always an upcharge so we expect to pay a little more. However, last night we got five 16 oz margaritas and the bill for those was $70.00 ($14.00 per drink). I asked the owner if that was correct and he said yes. I then asked what a regular margarita would cost and he said $5.00. So, there was a $9.00 upcharge on each one? I told him I didn't think that was fair and he informed me that it was very fair for a 16 oz drink and began to walk away from me. And the cup looked more like 12 ounces, to be honest. I then told him that was a ridiculous upcharge and we would not come back. His response was a shoulder shrug and a "that's fine-okay". No explanation, no apology, and a bad attitude. Absurd. The waitress was attentive and apologized for the time it was taking to make the drinks. They were very busy. She deserved the added gratuity (for a party of 6). But lesson learned. From now we will ask about the upcharge if tripling the price is the new normal. Ugh. read more

Me and a friend went there on our lunch break. It was basically empty when we got there, good timing for us. We got mozzarella sticks, which were awesome, as an appetizer. I got a Reuben with sweet potato fries, my friend got a regular hamburger and fries. I had water, he got coke. We intended to sit down and eat but my friend had to ask her to put it in a to go box because we were running out of time and she said it would be just another minute, I went to wait in the car, we were late coming back (if we do ever go back I'll call ahead if possible, it was partly on us) She offered us to-go drinks, I passed but my friend got one. My friend had coke, she brought back tea. My sandwich was burnt, of course burnt side down. My fries had sugar on them? In my 22 years of eating, I've never heard of any restaurant putting SUGAR on their fries, sweet potato or not. I take bites out of my friends food all the time, it's how we bond. I spat out the burger. It was flavorless and had a weird texture. Safe to say I'll stick with Arby's Reuben and McDonald's burgers. But again the mozzarella sticks were awesome. read more
