I have been eating here since the early 80's. Every time I am close to Brunswick, GA, I stop and get a pork chop sandwich and a sweet tea.

A major Dive is exactly what I expected at this restaurant, which we love if the food is good. You walk through the outdoor eating area to reach the order counter. Place your order than go back outside to the outdoor eating area to wait to your food comes up at the window. The outdoor seating was comfortable with the breeze blowing. The meal itself had some good and some real bad. I don't know who to blame for my wife's order. I could blame the wife as I hinted at the fact she did not want to order a fish sandwich at a hotdog/burger joint but she did not listen. Or I could blame the restaurant for having on the menu a square piece filet of fish. It is enough to say the sandwich tasted like it looked. I ordered the fired pork sandwich which was multiple pieces of breaded fired pork on a hoagie type bun. The sandwich was not bad but the meat could have used a little more seasoning. The fries were served piping hot and were pretty good I would think it would be hard to ruin unsweetened tea, but they did. read more

We had a friend who had visited Brunswick and recommend the Wee-Nee Wagon to us, so we swung by and gave it a go. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. So first, this is the kind of place you want to like. It's a local hole in the wall that serves up American staples, like hotdogs, in a no frills environment. I absolutely love the concept of it. But the execution leaves a lot be desired. I'll explain. We showed up at about 3PM on a Saturday. Not prime dinning hours by any means but it seemed fairly busy. There were a few people in front of us in line and there was nobody at the counter. There is an online ordering option which my friend opted to use. I decided to wait it out. Nobody was the counter initially but someone eventually showed up and she was clearly stressed and yelled to the back to ask for help with the line. I was able to get my order in along with the rest of my friends and we went to take a seat. I described the atmosphere as "no frills" and I wasn't lying. There really isn't much seating and it is all functionally outside in a screened in section. Not a big deal, it kind of adds to the charm. They even have heaters if it's chilly. It became apparent shortly after finding seating that food was simply not coming out. There is a window where they call your name and hand you your order and nothing was coming out. What was the issue? No clue. We all ordered hotdogs and waited about 30 minutes. The guy who ordered last ended up getting his order first. I mean, OK whatever. But it was very clear that there was little to no organization in the process. My friend who ordered online finally figured out that if your order online you have to go back to the counter to get the food (your name won't be called from the window). And of course there was no signage stating this. When he did finally get his order it was incorrect but it'd taken so long to get it he just ate it. The cherry on top was that I received a text telling me my food was ready 2 hours after I'd ordered it. By this time I was having a beer at one of the local breweries. The food itself was fine but really nothing special. It also wasn't cheap. $5 a hotdog and $4 for a coke that wasn't even cold. By the end of it I couldn't leave fast enough. All in all, not a great customer experience. But I feel like there are vast improvements that could be made in terms of the efficiency of the process. Maybe we caught them on a bad day. But I struggle to see the appeal. If/when I'm in Brunswick next I will not be returning. read more

My son-in-law's family is from Brunswick, and apparently this place has been a tradition for years. He recommended the hotdogs and the pork sandwich, so I had to try one of each. While the hotdog was good, the pork sandwich tasted amazing. The meat is tender and very flavorful. Based upon what other reviewers have said, yes, there are no prices on the big menu on the wall. However, there is a small menu on the window that appears to have the pricing. I guess it's a traditional southern thing, but I found it a little odd that most of the sandwiches come with a sweet tea. You can substitute for a soft drink for a dollar. There are outdoor tables and a small interior area as well. it's a little too hot eating outside during the summer months. I don't get why it had a 4.3 stars. I've had better chili dog at a gas station (QT). Honestly, it took a good 15 mins for 2 hot dogs, one with chili and one with just mustard and onions right at $13. Save your money, the Hot Dogs are literally the size of your pinky finger. read more

What a disappointment! Willie's fried pork chop sandwich has been my favorite Brunswick food for years. Today, I got a chance to have one. The pork was very dry and too salty. The bread is not the same quality it used to be. The onions were missing. We specified no pickles, but there they were. And you can remove the pickles, but the pickle juice is there to stay. It took a half hour to get this sandwich, and we're resigned to that, but there's no way we're going to wait ANOTHER half hour for the sandwiches to be made again. I'm on a diet, and this was my one splurge for the week. I'm not planning to go back, and that's a real shame. read more

Found this place as we were traveling on I95. Chat GPT recommended this as "near the interstate". What a good choice. Our group of 5 all had different menu items. The burger was pretty amazing., Bread soft and fresh, grilled onions, and a tender patty. The steak sandwich and pork chop sandwich looked tasty and were quickly consumed. The last 2 had hot dogs and chili cheese dogs. They reported they were pretty durn good. The sweet tea was sweet but not overly sweet. Just the way southern sweet tea should be. BIG RIP-OFF! I don't understand the attraction here. Great reviews and the place during lunch was hopping. Here is my experience: 1. Way overpriced! The menu board doesn't show prices, so when you go to pay, you are hit with a surprise. I ordered a fried porkchop sandwich, which includes an ice tea but no sides. So I added a chili side. Bill without a tip my bill was over $19!!!!!! 2. Sandwich at $14.50 was of average size. But considering that the meat was not sufficient to fill the bun, I left a good 1.5 inches of bun on each end of the sandwich making it a small sandwich. $14.50 for a SMALL sandwich without a side! REDICULOUS! 3. Quality and taste of sandwich was BLAH. To quote my friend sitting across the table from me: "It was ok". Out of six of us, nobody raved about the food. It was just ok. 4. I ordered a chili side. It was your standard hotdog topping chili out of a can. Not homemade or anything. YUCK! Well, they must be doing something right because the place during lunch has a line. I don't see it! No, table service, little inside seating, mostly out side sitting and the seating on the side of the restaurant had a BAD smell. I absolutely love that. The new owners are working diligently to carry-on the legacy of the former owner. My personal favorite is the slaw dog and the Brunswick dog. I have fond memories of my father, taking me there as a child and every single time I go back I'm re-creating fond memories that I had now with my children. read more

Happy to report the following - 1) there is now a price list at the window 2) they now have unsweetened tea as an option - lol The last time I was in town, they were closed while new management did some training / revamping so I didn't get my grilled pork chop sandwich fix. Of course I just had to stop by to see if things have changed now that Mr. Shucks has taken over. Happy to say that the pork chop sandwich is still delicious. This is the gold standard by which all other pork chop sandwiches are judged around here. Lol. They don't take phone orders anymore (at least they didn't that day) and the ordering process is a bit inefficient. When I pulled up, there were 5 people waiting in line and it took about 20 minutes for me make it to with window to place my order. It was very cold and very windy - so that wasn't fun. I was wishing for ear muffs the the entire time. I'm hoping in the future they'll have phone ordering again - or possibly even online ordering. Once the cashier put my order in, the sandwich was ready pretty quickly (about 5 minutes). I'm glad they're back open and that I was able to get my pork chop sandwich fix. This little place is very old school and awesome! You walk up and order at the front window and you pick up your order inside at the side window. There are picnic tables for seating outside and inside both. This hot dog joint has been in business since 1975 and they have much more than hot dogs. The dogs are fantastic and the price reflects that, but it's worth it. I definitely recommend visiting to check them out! read more

This establishment has a long history with the locals. My colleague and I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. The cheeseburger was nestled in a soft on the inside crispy on the outside hoagie roll, grilled onions lettuce, tomato, and other condiments. It was a tasty feast. The steak fries were hot and crispy. Other patrons told us that the Bull dog will change your life! Others swear by the pork chop sandwich is the very best sandwich on the planet! We were the only non-locals there. Everyone were curious to know if we enjoyed it. We certainly did!! I can now say, been there, done that and got the T-Shirt!!! I was super excited to try this since I'm from out of town and heard good things. But for a place where hot dogs are the focus, they use crappy hot dogs. They also don't do anything but boil them. You can fo to Walmart and get a pack of hot dogs for $1, boil them, and have the exact same product. We got 1 kiddie dog plain and 1 kiddie dog with ketchup and mustard. It makes no sense because this is a long time established staple of Brunswick, and when I want to have a real Brunswick experience, Yelp ought to be prompting places like this in my searches! (Instead, I was corralled to the Yellow Deli--hiss, hiss, spit, spit!) Willie's is simple window service ordering, with an overhang porch and picnic tables for eating. The menu is more vast than I expected, not just weenies. In addition to the expected hot dog a dozen ways, the menu had burgers, chili, "Rue Ban," even "steak sandwich." Food was good quality, and everything was very fresh. Good bread, quality meats, crisp and flavorful veggies, and perfect condiments! The place was hopping, even on a weekday in March! WOW!! I just ate the best hot dog I've ever had!! It was called the Bulldog, which is their signature coleslaw, tomato and cheese on a bun. They must have put crack in that coleslaw, because it was super addictive! Best slaw ever! I ordered a cheese dog, but I suppose they heard cheeseburger, because that's what I got. Still very good, yet, served on a sub roll. Whatever. Beautiful girlfriend got the chili dog. She loved it. The sweet tea was definitely on point. Have always wanted to try it....finally made it here on a Saturday on way to Florida. We were not disappointed!! GF had a Cheesesteak and she said it was very good. I had a Chili Dog and a Polish Sausage. Both were excellent. Shared a large fries. They were crispy, fresh and delicious. The complimentary Sweet Tea is a nice touch!
