This is a super old school establishment that is VERY good at what they do. A total dying breed. They know what they do well and they keep it going. Everything is made to order. They have a self service window and an absolute firecracker of a woman working it. She was amazing. The food was a perfect blend of the Chicago style street eats and the southern coast quick eats. We got the bulldog and slaw dogs on two different occasions and it kept us coming back. Great chili too. This is one of the best lunch spots I've found in our journeys around the country. read more

Overall, Willie's is definitely a Brunswick landmark. The Brunswick Dog and Pork chop sandwich is a must have. The main reason for the 3 stars is the wait. Went on a Tuesday afternoon between lunch rush and dinner, maybe 2 people in front of me, ordered 2 hot dogs and the pork chop sandwich. After ordering it took a total of 32 minutes to get the order for items that could've been out in 7 minutes. If they worked on the speed in the kitchen, then I'll be back. read more

Fried pork chop sandwich.... OMG!!! We moved to the island a few years ago and don't often pass by Willie's, but after hearing this is a must we headed over today on our way back from errands in Brunswick. We were not super hungry so we decided to share a sandwich. If I had known how good this sandwich was to the point of writing this review I would have taken a picture! It was a delicious French bread roll crisped on the flat top with the freshest tomato I have tasted in a while with tender crispy pork and dressed with a brush of mayonnaise on the bun. Unfortunately this is been a staple for us locals for so many years it's sad to see that the quality of the food is dropped off and now you don't even get the jumbo tea with a sandwich anymore, The website says that due to rising cost from vendors but the way I see it you Gotta make the sweet tea anyway can't cost that much to keep the crowd happy and coming back. Simplicity pure and simple. There are a variety of dogs from which to choose. This place has been there for a long time. To me, this proves it's legit. I ordered the slaw dog and my husband ordered the big dog. Mine had slaw and mustard and my husband's had slaw, tomatoes, pickles, cheese, ketchup and mustard. The slaw was perfect for a hot dog. Willie's has signage offering $2K cash to anyone with a better porkchop sandwich, and I have no idea who makes that judgement call but I'd like to apply for the position. The porkchop sandwich I got here was incredible! Huge pieces of juicy, seasoned pork, slathered with mustard, complemented by just-enough grilled onions, all piled on a fresh, crusty roll. Every bite is perfection! And it's $8. I intended to share this and ended up inhaling it, along with some of the steak-cut fries and a giant cup of sweet tea. I found this place across from the college. This place was awesome. It has a good vibe and great atmosphere. It is an old style burger joint. You can sit outside on the patio or they have an indoor patio area that you can eat. The indoor area did have some flies buzzing around, but it beat the alternative of eating out in the heat. You can also order ahead online and have your food ready when you get there. The staff was very nice and they do not accept tips. I had a cheese burger and fries and they were delicious. The fries are steak fries and the burger was made to order. mmmmmm. I highly recommend paying this place a visit. read more

The most expensive item I bought was the worst - the Willie big steak. It was tough, fatty, and dare I say tasted of the faux steak variety?! Let's just call it stake instead of steak, because a wooden dagger might have been more flavorful (in the not too seasoned variety a la the Willie Big Stake) and satisfying. The fish sandwich saved this experience for me. It was actually pretty good. Try the fish. Better yet, try somewhere else. Either way, you won't be disappointed. read more

My fish sandwich was good but my daughter Willie burger was raw on the inside. We took the burger back to them and received yet another raw burger. The service was great despite how busy it was- they're looking to hire and are in need as this place was SUPER BUSY, and the guys were seriously bustin booty in the back! We use to live eating here but to me the quality of the food has definitely gone down. When we travel from north Georgia and we always have to eat Willie's but this time I was disappointed the burger was dry and not hot and juicy like before.
