    Beet humus and pretzel charcuterie
    Jason S.

The food was the star of the show. Their play on the charcuterie board but with pretzels was great. Usually when I go to brewery, I can find several beers that I really enjoy. I didn't have that experience here. They were just okay. The same review was shared by the other two people at the table.

The laid-back vibe, combined with great service and an inviting indoor/outdoor seating area, made for a perfect experience. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this is a place you'll want to return to again and again.

Great spot to enjoy a beer. Loved chilling on the back deck watching sports with a live band playing. I had not one, not two but three people asked if my dog needed water. I love how attentive this place was to our needs. They really pride themselves on creating a good atmosphere. I got a flight and the beer was good. Wish I could've stayed for more but was crunched for time. On my next visit I will get a full pour.

Went here for happy hour on a recommendation from someone. The service was excellent. The place has a real "everyone's a local" feel. We got drinks and the stuffed pretzels charcuterie. Whoever came up with the idea of putting charcuterie on a large pretzel should be given a raise immediately. It comes with two sides. One is mildly spicy mustard and the other is warm cheese. It is even better than it sounds. If you stop by BIB be sure to give the stuffed pretzel a try. You will be so happy you did.

The minute I saw the charcuterie pretzel, I KNEW I HAD to make my way to barrier island. My girlfriend and I stopped in on a Saturday, sat at the bar. The bartenders were very kind and attentive. The pretzel speaks for itself. It was FANTASTIC!! As someone who is a sucker for a soft pretzel, I knew I would love it. THEN add the amazing charcuterie selections...absolute perfection! I'm mad I didn't think of it sooner! Haven't seen this anywhere local yet! 10000% will return, just for this pretzel!!

We popped in just for drinks in a beautiful sunny afternoon. We sat outside and others were sitting outside under the covered tent which is great for any kind of weather issue. I had a shaken Piña colada and my gf had the Mexican mule. The pina colada was tasty and refreshing and the Mexican mule was cold and tasty. Our server was super helpful and friendly. I did take notice of the potato chip skillet and the Stuffed pretzel board at the table next to us and they looked so delish!! Def recommend!

Great brewery! Very cool atmosphere with really good food! I'm not typically a big sandwich guy but they have some amazing sandwiches here. Our waitress was absolutely great and gave really good recommendations

This place never disappoints. The food is absolutely delicious. The bacon wrapped dates are divine. Things I dream about. The beef is flavorful and the service was impeccable. We will definitely be back.

Barrier Island Brewing: A Coastal Gem on St. Simons Island Tucked away on the breezy shores of St. Simons Island, Georgia, Barrier Island Brewing feels like the perfect antidote to a day spent dodging tourists on the beach. Located at 1226 Ocean Blvd, this microbrewery and eatery opened its doors relatively recently, channeling the laid-back vibe of the barrier islands into every pint and plate. It's the kind of spot where you can roll up sandy from a morning hike along the nearby trails, leash your pup to the outdoor patio (yes, it's gloriously dog-friendly), and settle in for an afternoon of house-brewed suds and elevated pub fare. As someone who's chased craft beer scenes from San Diego to the Florida Keys, I can say this one punches way above its weight for a small-island operation. The star of the show, naturally, is the beer lineup--all brewed in-house with a nod to local flavors. Their Beachview Blonde Ale is a crisp, straw-colored crowd-pleaser with a light citrus pop that cuts through the humidity like a sea breeze; it's sessionable enough for a long lunch but nuanced enough to sip solo. For something with more backbone, the Brackish Water Brown delivers a warm, malty hug with notes of caramel and a smooth, lingering finish--ideal for pairing with the island's subtropical evenings. They rotate in seasonals and guest taps, but the core selection leans toward approachable styles like wheats, blondes, and ambers rather than heavy hitters (no porters on my visit, which was a minor bummer for a stout fiend like me). Flights are a steal at around $10, letting you sample four without committing to a full pour. Pro tip: Ask for the s'mores seltzer if it's on--it's a fizzy, nostalgic twist that's weirdly refreshing after a cornhole game on the patio. But here's where Barrier Island elevates from "solid brewery" to "must-revisit": the food. Chef-inspired doesn't even cover it; this is pub grub with ambition. We started with the potato chip skillet--crispy, house-made chips topped with tender chopped steak, gooey beer cheese, and a melty mix of cheddar and mozzarella. It's indulgent without being overwhelming, and the pink-centered steak bites had us scraping the skillet clean. The stuffed pretzel charcuterie board followed, a salty-sweet behemoth loaded with cured meats, mustards, and pickled veggies that screams "share me... or don't." Mains like the pork sandwich (pulled shoulder on a brioche with that half-fries, half-chips side) were juicy and flavorful, while lighter options like the beet salad or fish tacos kept things balanced for the heat. Beignets for dessert? Fluffy, powdered-sugar-dusted clouds that rival anything in New Orleans. Vegetarian picks abound, and everything's made fresh--none of that frozen-chain nonsense. Atmosphere-wise, it's a winner. The space splits between a cozy indoor taproom with nautical accents and a covered outdoor area that's prime for people (and pet)-watching. Noise level is moderate, making it family-friendly yet grown-up enough for date night. Service is the standout: Our bartender, a local with encyclopedic beer knowledge, chatted trails and taps without hovering, and the pace never lagged even on a busy Friday. They're open Mondays (a godsend for island dwellers), with happy hour specials that make lingering affordable. Bonus: It's steps from the beach, so you can pair your visit with a sunset stroll. If you're on St. Simons, skip the chains and make this your anchor. Whether you're a trails-and-tap explorer or just chasing that perfect coastal buzz, it's the kind of place that turns a quick stop into an all-afternoon affair.

Tipsy McSway's is open until 10 PM and the kitchen stops taking orders at 9 PM. After looking over the menu, I decided to try the Brunswick stack sandwich. I had hoped to try the tomato bisque soup as my side, but unfortunately, they only serve chili, not soup, on Mondays. So instead, I ordered the fried potato salad as my side, and it was surprisingly delicious. It comes with small diced potatoes in a warm savory mustard sauce. When I originally asked the bartender what he recommended, he mentioned the Brunswick stack sandwich as well as the smash burgers. While the sandwich was good, I would probably try one of the burgers next time. Nevertheless, I would definitely get the fried potato salad again. The next time I'm in the area, I would definitely consider returning to Tipsy McSway's and I would recommend it to others as well. Cheers

I decided and came for lunch today and I will say it did not disappointment like I thought it would. I'm always down to try a place atleast once. So let's get into this review shall we!? Upon walking in my husband and I were greeted by the hostess and you'll see a big chalkboard with their weekly specials. We were sat in the back by a window so it was nice to have a view. Everything looked good on the menu. We started off with shrimp and some oysters and the oysters were topped with collard greens and cheese they were good but the oysters were just HUGE! For my entree I had a shrimp po'boy with a side of the bacon collards again they were really good. My only issue is that for my po'boy the bread was not a roll but it was still satisfying. My husband had the fish platter with grouper and trigger fish with fries and coleslaw. We absolutely loved the grouper it reminded me of red snapper. However we will be back and I love a cutie, rustic looking restaurant.
