We had reservations for the Veranda. We were seated immediately. It was very pretty. We waited a bit as we were the only people outside besides another patron. We decided to go in and ask our hostess if she could move us inside. She did tell us that she had told our server we were there, but no one had ever come to our table. We wanted to make sure we were seen and served. She seated us at a nice table inside. They have a beautiful bar, nice ambiance. Our server immediately came to us. He was from Jamaica and was nothing but the absolute best , extremely intentive and very polite. Excellent suggestions. The fried okra comes in whole pieces . We also try the fried chicken that brined in tea. Very crispy and tender. Great fried green tomatoes. My husband and I split the ribeye, which was absolutely delicious. Plenty for 2. The food was amazing- but we waited over 20 minutes before someone came to greet us and the food took another 25 minutes. It wasn't very busy, we went around 9:30 for breakfast. The southern breakfast biscuit was absolutely delicious, no complaints about the food. I am thinking we got there during a shift change, so maybe it was just bad timing. After having a fantastic experience in the past, I was extremely disappointed by the mixed-service received last night by Emily. While other servers were attentive to their guests, there were several gaps. Slow drink menu. Water service for camels...past our table 3 times after saying she was getting us water (the serving glasses are too small), I called her nicely. I was dismissed and asked to wait. Food was awesome. Then waited. And waited. At least 10 minutes. Nothing. The view and my company lessened the crap service. Heard there was a computer problem. Understand. But you can't ghost us. So sorry we were not assisted by the other staff. Almost asked for Kyon to take over, he should teach others how to care for their guests. read more

I recently dined at Willet's Lowcountry and had a mixed experience. The setting is absolutely beautiful--the views are stunning, and the island atmosphere really makes for a memorable backdrop. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the environment. It was average at best and didn't stand out in any meaningful way. The biggest issue, however, was the service. Our dinner stretched to nearly three hours, and we frequently had to ask for basic things like water. It felt disorganized and, at times, frustrating. I understand that restaurants can get busy and that staffing challenges happen, but based on our experience, the service fell well below expectations. While the location is worth seeing, I would not return for the food or service based on this visit. read more

Food was very good! I enjoyed a ribeye steak and hot crab dip. Crab dip was very very good. Steak was delicious as well but nothing mind blowing. Service was extremely slow but we were watching the nfl playoff game so did not mind but for someone looking for a normal paced meal it would be unacceptable. Ordered a glass of wine that tasted sour, I described it as tasting like blue cheese. It was promptly replaced and I was happy with the resolution. Food is outstanding but we had a party of 7 adults and 2 babies. They only offer a $75/person fixed menu for a party of our size, including the babies!!! We were told this was dictated by the chef. Very disappointed because we had a wonderful meal there in January and wanted to bring our entire family. Will not go again, very sad. read more

This restaurant is located in the Weston Hotel on the beach on Jekyll Island which offer local low country favorites. Low key, quiet restaurant with a friendly staff and great service. We both had their old fashioned cocktail to start which was well done. For starters we had the pickled shrimp and fried green tomatoes. Both were unique and very tasty. I had the local redfish for my main dish which was excellent and my wife had the short rib tagliatelle which she thoroughly enjoyed. Try it when you are on the island! read more

I was hopeful but not super sold on positive reviews. Rolled the dice and had a fail and a win! The tomato tart is so crazy good! Had to go back for more! The tomme cheese was perfect with that floury herbal crust and the heirlooms, my God it was good! The GA Peach Salad was decent but not memory-making like the tart. Peach slices were paper thin and sparing considering this is the dang ol' peach state! How much can that cost? Make it indulgent and you win customers, dude! The tart I will remember for YEARS; the salad was weak (despite the quality greens and dressing). Will try more in the future but I'm not over that tart yet! Yum! read more

My husband and I took a little vacation from Jacksonville and decided to eat at Willets as hotel guests. The restaurant is super cute, has a full bar with tvs and a lounge area and then both indoor and outdoor dining options. We had a reservation for 6:45 and were quickly seated although the hostess seemed very overwhelmed as the dinner rush all came at one time. Our server was Emily and she was delightful. Our crab dip appetizer came out quickly and was delicious! Food took almost an hour from the time we ordered. Emily was apologetic and told us food doesn't usually take that long but they got backed up with everyone coming in at once. I ordered shrimp and grits and the clam chowder and my husband had the ribeye. Food was delicious and worth the wait. Would've been a 5 star experience if they were able to handle the rush a little better on a Saturday evening. The food runner/ manager floating around was super kind too! read more

The food was good. Not outstanding but good. The service was TRULY lacking. Our initial interaction with our server was terrible. Took 15 minutes for someone to greet our table and then another 15 minutes to get the drink menu and another 10 minutes to place our drink orders/get our drinks. Finally after 40 minutes our drinks arrive. The drink I ordered was the peach and basil smash and it was terrible. Super sour. I did not end up keeping it and switched to a glass of wine. My husbands drink was some kind of rum drink which seemed overly sweet. When ordering our drinks, we selected the fried chicken thighs. They were beautifully fried with the best crunch but they needed salt and pepper terribly. The beautiful crunchy veggie slaw also was super bland but was easily repaired with salt and a whole lot of pepper. Our entree was the low country boil, that our server split into two portions. It was delicious! The broth was a bit spicy but was compliment to the food. We had intended to order another entree but the service was slow and uninterested. Our server did not provide any recommendations or guidance. Our server also did not check on us after dropping the food. I also felt like something was missing, maybe a bread service? We decided to skip another entree and go right to dessert. We ordered the panna cotta for my husbands birthday dessert. It was very tart but also creamy and delicious. At this price point, I expect well trained service staff who are attentive and guide the dining experience. This was not the case for our server. Our server did not seem to care if she guided our experience and seemed way more worried about her tables on the inside of the restaurant. Excellent restaurant with great vegetarian options. Our server (Kayon) was great and made sure we were taken care of. We had the vegetarian Brunswick stew, it had a great flavor of slightly sweet with hearty vegetables. The broccolini with cheese had an amazing Parmesan sauce and my daughter had the bucatini pasta without ham. We finished with the banana pudding which was also great. They have a beautiful dining room and nice patio. I will definitely visit this restaurant again while on Jekyll Island. read more

AMAZING!! What a great place, especially for being inside a hotel. We were seated inside with a view of the ocean. The atmosphere was very relaxed and classic. Our server was fantastic! She never had us wait long to take our orders, check on us while eating and asking if we needed anything else during our meal. I ordered the ribeye (medium rare) with smashed potatoes and cheese broccolini. The steak had a peppercorn sauce that was a nice addition to the meal. The chef cooked my steak to perfection with the best flavor ever!!! You can see the chefs preparing and cooking your meal. It was so good that after the meal I had to thank the two chefs for such a delicious meal. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits and a side of fried chicken. It was the best grits he has ever had!! The chicken was out of this world too! We can't thank Willet's Low country staff and chefs enough! It was one of the best meals we have had on our 3 week road trip! We were planning to have dinner at The Reserve and upon trying to find it, we learned that it's now called Willet's Lowcountry. Maybe the same restaurant, with a name change?... not sure as this was our first time to the restaurant and island. The restaurant leaves something to be desired. Looked a bit like a breakfast cafe with the coffee mugs on every table and the furniture. Not much of an atmosphere outside of the bar area but we were also in town after Labor Day so business/tourists was probably low. We ordered the deviled crab, a ribeye, and shrimp & grits for our food. All of it was very tasty and presented well. We also ordered peach crisp kinda dessert... it was just ok, nothing special... kinda like a toaster strudel served with ice cream. The service was friendly but slow. Again, perhaps low staff being when we were there. I think it definitely needs a decor overhaul though... doesn't give the vibe for the food quality they serve. read more

As pretty as the view and food looked. We were disappointed. We stayed at the Westin before and enjoyed their breakfast and drinks in the past, but they revamped the restaurant. You no longer get a free breakfast, instead you get a $15 breakfast voucher and you guess it, most of the food is over $15, so we had to pay the difference. They also no longer have mimosas and bloody Mary's on their breakfast menu, which we enjoyed in the past. The breakfast is nothing special. The food was bland. Thank goodness they had salt and pepper on the table, I never use those. Both days I asked for my eggs to be cooked hard and pouched hard. Both days my eggs were runny. The first day I got the eggs Benedict and the WHITES were runny. They remade them, but took so long to get my food, my husband finished his breakfast before I got my food again. The second day I got the eggs, bacon, and potatoes, again the eggs were runny. The waitress asked if I wanted to remake them. I did not want to wait again for the food, so I ate around it. But did ask the waitress if she would discount the $3 difference above the $15 voucher, she did not. Next time we will take the hotel points instead of the breakfast and eat elsewhere. read more

All of the food we ate at Willet's Lowcountry was very good! The Lowcountry boil for dinner was BY FAR the best I've had (and my hubs is from Savannah). Also, the Pickled shrimp is a must try! In the morning, the service was really good. Shout out to all the morning crew- and to Tyler always being ready with coffee. At night the service was sloowww. Maybe they are short on staff right now. ..we were on vacation so it wasn't a big deal...just thought it should be mentioned. The bartenders Benjamin and Jordan were great each night we were there. Went here with my family of three and had a very pleasant time. If you like it, I'd recommend sitting out on the veranda overlooking the water at sunset, it was so beautiful. As for the service, it was nothing but stellar. Our server was the sweetest and had the cutest southern accent. Drinks came out quickly and food came soon after, and everything was delicious. Great food, amazing service. Two team members that deserve recognition are Drew and Chef Kevin-they made us feel like honored guests and I can't say enough about how much they made the experience. The dish that stood out the most was the catch of the day (snapper) over vegetable succotash. The desserts were delicious, too and my son said the chocolate cake was the best he's ever had. We had dinner here recently and while the ambience and service were very good, we didn't love the food. The cacio e pepe brussels sprouts were really salty and had too much butter. We had the Lowcountry sampler as an app and were underwhelmed - first, the country ham was prosciutto, definitely not country ham, and the boiled peanuts were served cold. For dessert, we had the peach hand pie and there were so few peaches in the filling, it was humorous. Overall, for the cost, we weren't impressed. read more

We had a fabulous dinner at Willets last night. The low country tasting appetizer was just delicious - a sampling of unexpected flavors done so well. I had the redfish on a bed of kale and quinoa, and husband had blackened shrimp with green tomato slaw and fries. Both got two thumbs up. We topped it off with chocolate cake and ice cream, plenty big enough to share. It was quiet, unhurried, and service was warm and friendly. Would definitely eat here again. read more
