We loved this little spot. Perfect location within Jekyll Island. It's a cafe with a small menu. Prices are what you'd expect. We shared the Cuban which was fresh and hot with a lot of meat. The outside was crispy. We also had a banana smoothie and peach smoothie both with edible straws which was a nice touch. They tasted very cold and refreshing with great flavor. The staff is super nice and went out of their way to be friendly. We also finished it all off with an iced butterscotch latte with almond milk. Flavor was barely there but the smoothness was perfect. We had a nice lunch here, like everyone else who reviews here on Yelp, it seems. I had a salad with chicken salad on it, with a nice balsamic vinaigrette, and my husband had the caprese sandwich, which he enjoyed. It's on the porch of the fancy resort on the island that we did not stay at :), but anyone can eat here. It's a pleasant location, shady and not too bad in the August heat, and they have 1930's era jazz playing, which is fun and different from everyone else pretty much anywhere! We had a great experience eating at the pantry for breakfast. We were not staying at the club so we parked at the wharf, walked to the main club house made a right at the bar to enter from the outside. We ordered iced lattes (great selection of syrups) and egg and cheese croissant (American cheese but actually very good), breakfast burritos, and blueberry muffins - all hit the spot. It's counter service and they call your name when it's ready. There are four tables inside, each sitting 4 people, which was great so we could be inside on the chilly morning. Staff was friendly and the inside was cute, with old timey music playing. Would definitely go back! read more

Ehh. I used to like this place. Much like the hotel, it has gone down hill. The bread is stale. The "sourdough" appears to be cheap, mass produced, store-bought slices vs. fresh baked sourdough. Shoot, they can't even make a decent grilled cheese... they were soggy. Bottom line, I think that the hotel/restaurant has given up. They simply rely on patrons being too lazy to go elsewhere. YES YES YES!!! The cute little breakfast spot is located inside the Jekyll Island Club hotel and it has the best food!! The Pantry was pretty tasty for deli style food. It's strangely located in the middle of the resort so don't get confused when the GPS just randomly ends. The smoked salmon BLT was okay. There was a good amount of salmon, but it was just bits and pieces so there weren't an abundant amount. The bacon pieces were thick and crunchy so that helped. The tomato and lettuce finished off this BLT -- duh. Hehe. Overall just an average sandwich. I don't think I'd get it again is my summary. The hub's rueben sandwich was pretty flavorful. There was a good amount of corned beef and sauerkraut. The cheese was gooey and mixed well with the dressing. It was overall pretty delectable; I'd try it again. I think my sandwich wasn't toasted enough while the rueben was over toasted are my minor conclusions. The caramel apple crumb was delicious! It looked super sweet but was pretty mellow in its sweetness. The pastry itself was really delightful with its soft and crumbly texture. The size wasn't too bad either. read more

I was eating alone for lunch because the hubby was working and wandered over to The Pantry. It is at Thd Jekyll Island Club Resort. Selected the Reuben and a cup of fruit with an unsweet tea. Fruit was delicious, sometimes these are the unripened bits but not in this case. The sandwich was great - lots of meat. The tea was crisp and clear, very refreshing. I sat on the covered patio ate lunch and read my book. Such a relaxing lunch break. read more

We visited this place 4 times over 3 days!! Breakfast was divine--we both enjoyed the breakfast croissant with egg, cheese, sausage and tomato along with the breakfast burrito. My boyfriend devoured the red velvet muffin and I had the key lime tart twice since it was so good. This place is also located on the most beautiful property (Jekyll Island Club Resort) so we loved walking the grounds after. This was the perfect spot steps from our room to grab a quick breakfast, or items for the beach. It is a mini market that serves made to order food along with prepared food that you can keep on ice for later. We got sides for our kids and it was perfect! Beats waiting for a table at the main restaurant at the resort and you can get on with your day. There is seating available outside at some nice tables as the inside is very small. You can shop around inside and line up to pay and/or place your order when you are ready. We got the sausage and toast, which was reasonably priced and came out fast. Best of all, you can charge this all to your room so you don't even have to have your wallet. The staff were so friendly as well! read more

The Pantry is located inside the Jekyll Island Club hotel. Quickest entrance is in the back, off the long porch by their Jekyll Wheels bike rental place. They've made this look very boutique-y inside, with many souvenir gifts that are a bit better thought out (like actually useful/interesting) and of better quality than the generic stuff in the Pier Rd shops nearby. Odd that you'd buy gifts at the deli place, but yeah, it's kind of like the gift shop for the resort here. The food is good, not excellent. This place is usually pretty crowded, probably because it's the cheapest-closest option for resort guests, who don't feel like wandering anywhere else on the island for food. I get it; I would regularly walk my son in his stroller from my rental house (near Oceanview Beach Park) to the Historic District, and when lunch time hit, it was easy to get food at The Pantry. Other nearby food options in the Historic District are Doc's Snack Shop (cheap, and you get cheap quality), or The Wharf (almost all seafood on the menu, so for those with allergies, not the best option). Additionally, Eighty Ocean is also in the JI Club, but at the time of my visit due to COVID, they were only allowing hotel guests to eat there. Also, that is a more fancy sit-down meal, and if you're trying to eat and go, The Pantry really is ideal. I had a Reuben and tried some desserts. My son ate more of the Reuben than I thought he would, which was great. He loved the desserts too. The Reuben was good, but I'm a Yankee, and I probably have a higher standard for Reubens. Also, my order took a really long time considering how small this sandwich was, so to overcome that, I'd expect more flavor, more meat, and just MORE than what I got. It was basically a diner Reuben. Not bad, not good. The desserts were a pretty dry brownie, that did not taste very flavorful nor fresh, and a cupcake that did taste pretty fresh. I was impressed with the cupcake, and I am a reluctant convert to cupcake appreciation. There are many tables where you can eat on the adjacent covered porch, as well as picnic tables out in the Historic District. My only other qualm was another time when I tried to call in an order for dinner takeout, nothing they listed on their FB page menu was actually available. The woman I spoke to insisted I look at FB (where I had already been looking) and did not want to admit that she goofed and didn't update her menu. So that was annoying, and since none of the listed offerings were available, I ended up going elsewhere. In fairness, they were very busy. I think the boutique-y atmosphere, and their location in the big old beautiful hotel, attracts a lot of diners, and they get overwhelmed. I will definitely try them again, and I believe they have some more creative and tasty dishes to offer. read more

Jekyll Island is small and there are few places to shop or eat. The Pantry is the solution for visitors and residences alike. The store is filled with gifts, books, t-shirts, hats, beach supplies and a nice variety of grocery items. They offer a great selection of wines and beers. The deli counter makes Boars Head sandwiches. There's a baked goods counter, ice cream and cakes sold by the slice. If you can't find it in The Pantry, you won't need it for your vacation. It's understandable that the prices are a bit higher but it's all about supply and convenience. I had a delicious pastrami sandwich with cheese and horseradish, pressed & toasty for $9.99. There is an outdoor covered patio upstairs and a lower patio with umbrellas next to the fountain. The menu is simple but delicious.
