We were told that it would be about an hour and a half for a table we were ok with that and put our name on the list. I would say it took about an hour for a table. Our server immediately came to the table to ask for our drink orders so we thought we were off to a great start. She also took our food orders rather quickly. However, after that she pretty much disappeared on us. She never once came by to ask if we needed any more mimosas or refills on our waters. She didn't even let us know that the kitchen was backed up. We had to ask the hostess to look for her as it had been 45 minutes after ordering and we had no sign of her. She was outside texting. She then came by and said it's a holiday weekend it's going to be busy and then walked away. Our food was delish and we really liked what we ordered but by the time we got it we had been at the restaurant for at least an hour after ordering. I had the breakfast sandwich that was basically like a bacon and and cheese with tomato on a sandwich with cheesy grits on the side. We waved her down to close out and left right after we finished eating. Server was not friendly or attentive.

Donuts are usually a sweet I skip , but my friends on the island said I have to try them and I am so glad I did. I got a glazed and a king cake donut. ! What?!?!? I also got another donut and a bun that was not sweet. I have been wanting more of this donuts since I finished them. They are a very different texture and I love it. Not greasy at all! They have other pastries too, but I came after most of them were gone. There are no machines making anything here....and you can taste the difference. They have a small dine in area so most people come in for takeout. The staff was patient with a first timer and helped me choose the best that was still available. The secret here is to watch the hours they are open and when they are, come early for the best selection. Located in a small complex so parking may be a problem, but I will walk miles to get to this place... that is after driving 7 hours to get to the island! At Dulce Dough Bakery, every donut I tried was incredible. The cinnamon brioche donut and the maple brioche donuts were our favorites. My husband had the jalapeño, bacon, cheddar cathead biscuit with the addition of eggs, bacon & cheese. He wants to go back tomorrow for another one!! Coffee is served in jadeite mugs. They also have fresh squeezed orange juice. When my friend was commenting on the homemade juice, the guy making it brought us a small glass of juice to sample! You can expect to be greeted by a rude individual at the pastry counter or the register. Speaking of the register watch out for their additional fees and charges. The charges would not be so bad if the food was halfway decent (for the price) or the service was great. Eggs are premade- so don't even bother with those. on a typical summer day they will be out of everything by 10:30am even though Winn-Dixie is right across the parking lot. It's open until 2:00 but kitchen staff usually cuts it off about 1:15. I don't blame them though... Such a miserable group of people working there, I would try to duck out early too! I'm sad this island staple has gone downhill over the years... There is competition on the island now- we don't have to tolerate this anymore.

The sandwich wasn't huge so it was a perfect amount for breakfast. We sat inside - it's very cute - with a market and to go as well as the tables. Food comes up fast and is really reasonably priced! The chicken was perfectly fried - not greasy - and the hot honey was a nice touch (and thankfully, not too hot). Good bathrooms and lots of tasty looking items in the refrigerated cases (including various types of seafood to cook).

I decided on a grits bowl . I was shocked at ghe size of the bowl when it was delivered a short while later. Huge is an understatement. There's not a lot of tables, and it would be hard for a large group but even if you have to wait for a table, it is worth the wait! I will return!
