At first this was hard to find. It sits on the second floor of the building. What a nice place. They provide indoor seating and a full bar. They also offer an outside covered patio seating. Then you can go to the rooftop with some decent views and nice seating. The staff was wonderful. Not sure they could be any better. What a great experience. Food was fabulous. Not sure you can get anything that would taste bad. The starters were great. The bread was delicious. The cauliflower was sweet and delicious. The meals were fantastic and the desert was amazing. Fun holiday evening here with our family group facilitated by lovely service! We were delighted by the French cut mini lamb lollipops as a special appetizer, and the pork skewers and tomato pie were also great. We also didn't resist the sourdough made by "sourbroughs" and glad we didn't! These were some welcome updates to the starter menu. The dinner special snapper was excellent, and the steak tips were cooked perfectly over fettuccine. 1509 and the entire updated Kress building / hotel is a downtown Brunswick gem worth stopping by. My wife chose this restaurant because of the rooftop patio and outdoor dining area so we decided to go. We were seated outdoors on a small second level patio which overlooked some rooftops of a few warehouses and junk in the yard off the street. It was nice to be outdoors however the view was not remarkable. After our meal we walked through and saw another indoor/outdoor room and a rooftop patio where one can bring drinks. They were both actually pretty nice. I ordered the French Onion soup and the Steak (sirloin tip) Fettuccine and my wife ordered the Farm 99 Salad and the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin. The onion soup was fine however nothing remarkable and the steak fettuccine was a nice portion with fresh homemade pasta. I thought the dish was just OK and note it had small chunks of parsnip in it, which I did not think was right for that dish. I probably will try something else the next time. The salad was fresh and basically potatoes beets, red onion, and feta cheese. It was just OK as well. The star of the meal was the Bacon wrapped pork tenderloin which was a nice portion and very tasty. It was cooked appropriately and presented on a bed of puréed potatoes and Brussels. I would order this again if we returned. We arrived during happy hour however, our server seemed uncertain of the time or day and the nature of happy hour when we asked but confirmed it was in effect. We reminded her when we received the bill so she adjusted for the drinks appropriately. A general note, we always appreciate when the staff tell us about happy hour when seated and bring us a menu....as opposed to having to work to draw the information out of them. We might give this place another chance however we'll see if we return after comparing to other restaurants. read more

Two of us got it and couldn't eat it. Sister in laws chicken though was so disgusting that we are worried she will get food poisoning. Our server was kind and apologetic; there were some larger parties dining and some technical issues with processing receipts. Nonetheless, our food came out in a very reasonable time. My husband had the pork chop while I had the summer caprese pasta. Both meals were okay. For the price point, I expected more from my selection. Nice view. We shared an unusual and delicious fish dip, a risotto,m delight called lions mane, and a Mushroom appetizer, all flavored with fresh herbs and savory spices. Reminded me of home back in Los Angeles. The bar is fully stocked and the menu has some unique eats. The staff was very friendly and ensured my wife and I were well taken care of the whole evening. We ate outside, early September, but it was quite comfortable. Definitely order the fried brussel sprouts. The food and service were slightly better than Reids, but I would recommend both restaurants. When I tell you this place gets 10'sssssss all across the board. I have not one complaint from the beginning to the end. Amazing customer service and knowledgeable bartenders Lexi and Bethany. They made great recommendations and phenomenal drinks. Great smiles and personality, they were never intrusive. You have some Awesome bartenders. Each course was delivered promptly and Cooked to PERFECTION. At one point the head chef stopped by Chef Chris Lagrone and I was about to commend him on such an excellent execution of his craft! You can see it through the menu and taste it through each dish. The peanut butter oat cookie with ice cream is absolutely out of this world I would highly recommend. The first thing you think about when you walk in is that this place is special! We took the elevator up to the third floor and were greeted by the hostess. Once we sat down, our waitress came right over and was there whenever we needed anything. The food was AMAZING! Loved every part of our meal. Had the Schroeder's Market bread service - Amazing ! Came out steaming hot and the garlic herb butter was to die for! Also, got the crispy pork belly. Seasoning was excellent and the pickled onions cut the fattiness of the pork so well. I made a little slider with the bread and the pork belly and it made everything everything even better! For entrees, we had the Tilefish (catch of the day) and the shrimp & grits. The tilefish was cooked perfectly; super crispy on the outside, but tender, juicy, and flaky. I've had a lot of shrimp & grits in my life, and these are the best I've ever had. Shrimp was cooked perfectly, grits were the perfect texture, and the bacon added the perfect smoky touch. First time at 1509, and it was amazing! My friend invited me out for NYE, and we had such a great time. The restaurant was super busy, but the staff handled the chaos well and were still very polite. Our reservation was for 7:30, and we waited a few extra minutes to be seated, but we got drinks at the bar and sat on the couches outside. We made a dinner reservation for an inside table weeks in advance for NYE 2024 and had the worst experience with customer service. We arrived 5 min before our reservation, stood waiting for our table for an hour, and had to endure a smart remark from the hostess at the front desk when we asked about the wait for our table. We were finally offered a table outside. Our waiter was very cordial, thankfully, and the food came out quickly. However, the food was salty and when we asked to have our leftovers boxed to take home, we were told that no take out trays were available. We spent $200 for a horrible experience overall. What a disappointment! We were looking forward to having a nice meal. We knew 1509 Brunswick was expensive and hoped the food and experience would be a step above. They weren't very busy, so I am not sure why the initial service was slow. The food was not impressive either. The beef tartare was just OK. The French onion soup was poorly executed; the soup was a light tan instead of dark brown and was flavorless, as if the onions hadn't been properly caramelized. We had the rib-eye for two and added on crabmeat (Oscar style). The waitress assured us the horseradish cream sauce would be served on the side, but it wasn't. The steak was drowning in sauce and we couldn't taste the crabmeat. The ribeye was also not the greatest cut; it had so much sinew that we had trouble cutting through it even with steak knives. I expected better from a $90 steak, frankly. The meal wasn't bad, but it was NOT worth the money. We should have sent it back, but we don't like to do that. We will just never return. There are too many other restaurants in the area serving much more delicious food to give this overpriced establishment a second try. Bottom line, DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE. read more
