The restaurant is large enough with good bar space and two dining sections. Overall it gives a nice quaint ambience with a big wood fired oven in view from the bar. I ordered an Old Forester well bourbon on the rocks and my wife ordered a glass of red wine. We followed up later with the second round. We enjoyed our drinks and chose to try a handful of items off the happy hour menu. We started with the brie, the chef's choice tacos, the oven roasted olives, and the Caesar salad. Everything had a wood fired flare. The oven roasted olives were a nice order meaty and oven hot. The Brie was wood fired melted with a side of house jam and what I would call a ciabatta roll. It was my favorite. Again very good. The chef choice tacos were beef and came as an order of 2 small but tasty tacos. We shared the Caesar salad which had a nice smoky flavor with a tasty dressing and overall good. Everything was fine and definitely above average and would probably order those again. There's a pretzel and chicharrones also on the HH menu We ordered a Meatzilla Fire bread off the main menu which was tasty thin pizza. A little thin crust for me but everything was fresh and good quality. $1 charge for parmasian cheese. I would likely come back again to try some of the mainstay entrées, like scallops, bone-in pork chop and ribeye steak which looked a little pricey but again sometimes you get what you pay for. Looking forward to our next trip. I would definitely stop by and try the happy hour for excellent drinks and some tasty shareables and remarkably inexpensive drinks. We generally don't order dessert but tried the Eula May which was a sour dough pound cake. It was excellent. I would rate this restaurant at a 4.5, however, it is much better than many of the places I've tried in Brunswick or Saint Simons Island. I'd make a final rating once I try again and taste the entrees. The Yelp average of 4.2 is way too low for this place. I chose to give it a 5.0 rather than a 4.0. Definitely worth trying.

Tonight we ordered online once more and ordered our 'free' pizza. we ordered a specialty pizza like before. When we picked it up and gave them our free pizza card they said it was only good for a cheese pizza and charged us extra for each of the toppings that were included in the specialty pizza which came to $12.95. So not only did we get overcharged the first time but we got cheated again the second time. Needless to say we won't be back. This is not customer service.

I'm pretty picky especially with pizza so take that into consideration. It was fresh and light with a good amount of pepperoni but again good but nothing fantastic. I would actually rate this as a 3.8 but will go with a 4.0 with Yelp ratings. It is definitely not a bust and fairly decent with a nice menu, however, I would try a few other pizza places in the area to compare. There is a 4% surcharge for credit card.

For dinner I wanted to try the seared pork ribeye but they were out of stock so I settled for the short rib sandwich on ciabatta bread. My wife ordered the beet and goat cheese salad which she enjoyed and thought was fine. The short rib sandwich was tasty enough but the bread was soft like it came out of a plastic bag. I was hoping for a better quality bread which is important for a sandwich. It wasn't something I would order again. Overall it's a really quaint place with isles of olive oil and items to purchase but the experience was a 2.0 and the food average 3.0 at best. I really expected a bit more especially from the look and feel of the place. Not sure I could get around to wanting to go back to try anything else on the menu. Bartender was nice but overall just not a good experience after a long day of work. I feel bad to leave an unsatisfactory score but I upped my 2.0 to 3.0 as ratings are important and it's probably at least a 3.0.

Wow! Took almost 2 hrs to get pizza a few weeks ago when we were down. Owner was not apologetic and was in fact quite abrasive and did not handle complaints by the patrons (yes there were others) very well...often making snide comments to or at customers. I was warned by friends who live on the island but now I've learned my lesson first hand. Go elsewhere. Much better options on the island. I would normally give benefit of the doubt if it was JUST slow (maybe a busy night?) but unfortunately the combo of the poor taste/quality on top of the 2 hour wait and the way Customers were being treated is not worth a return visit. read more

Rude staff and even worse owner. Owner called customers names when he was apparently too "stressed" to deal with summer crowd or when people were walking out or refusing to pay. How does any restaurant owner expect to keep customers with such a bad attitude...which clearly rubs off on staff. Pizza just OK, have had it once or twice before when needed delivery...but won't go back now. At best the 4th best pizza place on the island...behind CJs, Mellow, and Sal's. They clearly are a place for tourists and not locals. read more
