The seating was picnic tables. I guess it was fish day because that was all that was on the menu. I got the Curry Style Grouper. It was filleted so I was happy not to have to deal with bones. It was served with rice and cole slaw. It was okay. The best thing I ate was the appetizer, couche fritters. Heritage is always a very nice meal, but I'm never dying to go back. I think the menu is just ok. The deviled eggs are pretty good but otherwise no great appetizer options. This is definitely a hole in the wall type eatery, which is usually a good sign, but our experience was not the best. We waited almost an hour and 20 minutes for four dishes. I would have dismissed the wait if the food was fantastic, but it was just ok. They mixed up 3 out of 4 of our plates, which was very disappointing. Fish was fresh, but overcooked yet soggy. Conch fritters were good, but small for the price. I'd recommend to do take out to get your food faster. I wouldn't rush back. read more

Coconut grouper has always been a favorite, but we have enjoyed the Wahoo and Mahi Mahi as well. The sides are always rotating, so it is fun to get surprised by whatever they are cooking that day. This place is amazing! It's in West Bay away from the tourists. There are tourists that come here, but it's definitely authentic. We had the conch fritters, coconut mahi mahi and the escovitch grouper. It comes with saffron rice and a homemade roll. We enjoyed it all, but the grouper was or favorite and the rice is also delicious. The escovitch was spicy with scotch bonnet salsa which is right up my alley. I highly recommend this place to all. Also it's located right on the ocean and when you are done eating you can cross the street to a public beach. We had the entire beach to ourselves. ***Side Notes*** $2.50 (USD) on public bus from the port per person. About 18 minutes give or take. The bus drops you off restaurant side and when you're ready to go back cross the street for pickup. When the bus comes through they give a little beep beep. Put your hand up and they will stop. This is not a public city bus from the US. Think Sprinter Van. Has the credentials on the window. Get out there! read more

Absolutely best fish dishes on the island. Well worth the taxi, bus or drive up W Bay Road. Compared to any dish on Seven Mile Beach, it's at least 50% less and much better tasting at Heritage Kitchen. So even with a taxi, you are getting a better meal for a cheaper price. This place is simple but they do it so well. Grouper or Mahi, done a few different ways, $14, or $16 with cole slaw and a rice side. Order at the front window, grad a beer or drink at the other window. Good views of the water (depending on parked cars and where you sit) but this is the best restaurant on the island. read more

The first meal I had in Grand Cayman did not disappoint. I had the curry grouper and it was wonderful. The guava juice I had with it was the best I've ever had and I needed more daily. The service was great and they had a steady crowd so I instantly knew this place would be a hit. I enjoyed it so much that it was the last place I ate before heading home from vacation. Yum! We've been meaning to try this place for a few years now, but every time we go to the caymans, we miss it for one reason or another. The locals all say this is the place to go for fresh fish. They have catches of the day, and once they run out of food, they run out and close, so go early!
