The staff is inpatient, rushes you along. And there was hair in my lo mein. I will never eat there again.

Their food is absolutely amazing I'm eating the Singapore chow mei fun noodles right now and it is soooo delicious 10/10!! Everything I ordered looks so good keep up the good work! (I also always order their egg drop soup which is also a 10/10 everytime it's not thick and goopy)

Old green moldy eggs in my soup

I am updating my review to say that they sold me TWO ROTTEN egg drop soups, the large size. I called to inform them and she rudely asked why I was calling so late when the food was delivered hours ago. My son ate one earlier when it was delivered and he's only 4 years old I didn't notice the moldy eggs. I hope he doesn't get sick! I just started to eat mine just now took a bite and immediately gagged and wanted to throw up!!!! I looked and immediately saw GREEN eggs. Pictured below. Be careful. I gave them 5 stars originally but now I don't trust ordering from here ever again. Sorry you lost a customer. Kitchen must be disgusting. To makeup for it she offered ONE free soup next time. There won't be a next time. Not trying to eat rotten eggs yuck! Wasted $8 !!! I'm pretty picky with Chinese food because I'm Asian lol! I just moved downtown and this was the only place open after 9pm so I decided to give it a shot! I ordered the BBQ ribs, wonton egg drop soup, and shrimp with vegetables. Everything was delicious! The food also arrived in about 22 mins!!! The only downside is that with the type of building I stay in I have to go downstairs from my floor to meet the delivery man outside. Not their fault though! Lol I'm about to order from them right now actually

    Orange chicken.

We ordered from hot wok and had it delivered twice. The first time the food was delivered within 15 minutes of ordering. We ordered the general tso's, bourbon chicken, cream cheese rolls, and donut appetizers because we were craving unhealthy food. Everything was good except for the white rice and the bourbon chicken. The chicken was not appetizing and the white rice was dry. We do not normally eat Chinese food very frequently but the general tso's was better than any of the other Chinese food places we have tried in riverside. Our second time ordering we ordered the orange chicken, the steamed chicken with snap peas and broccoli with a ginger sauce, cream cheese rolls (my husband really enjoyed these last time), and sweet and sour pork. Delivery took approximately 30 minutes so they must have been busy but the food arrived nice and hot. All items were good but my favorite was the chicken with steamed broccoli and snap peas because it had a great amount of veggies. You have to select a sauce and I was concerned it would arrived drowned in the sauce, completely defeating the purpose of getting steamed veggies, but to my wonderful surprise it arrived on the side. The ginger sauce had fresh slices of ginger and was a nice addition to lightly drizzle over the dish. This is definitely the place we will order Chinese from while we live in JAX.

    Mixed Vegetables - Dieter's Gourmet
    Hilary L.

I am not a huge fan of Chinese Delivery. It's a little greasy and questionable for my general liking, BUT sometimes it calls my name. And when it does, this place is always reliable and tasty. The menu is pretty standard as far Chinese restaurants go, but they do have some great fried tofu options on their menu that are really well prepared. Even if you aren't a tofu fan, this tofu is crispy and well seasoned, making it a very enjoyable meal. If you are looking for something on the lighter side, check out their Dieter's Gourmet selections. I ordered the Mixed Vegetables [that come steamed] paired with a side of white rice and your choice of dipping sauces [Brown, Garlic - hot, Oriental White Wine Sauce, and Ginger Sauce]. It was really fresh tasting and well prepared and didn't give me a Chinese Takee Outee hangover like usual. And the egg rolls are always hot and greasy and delicious.

My husband really likes their orange chicken. The crunchy noodles for soup have never been stale. Nearby Chinese food takeout in comparison: Green lake food is good but not quite as good. Red lantern (previously Silver Star) is inconsistent and hasn't been as good the last few times. The hot and sour soup has been amazing at times, but sometimes it's just ok. The egg drop soup was so salty we all agreed it was inedible. The crunchy noodles at times were stale. We've always liked their stuffed eggplant and they're the only ones out of the three that offer it.

I heard about them when they were in another plaza but never really tried them until they moved and have frequented them every now and then. I called in and got the Bourbon Chicken dinner combination tonight and instead of rice I substituted or shall I say upgraded it to a veggie lo mein. The total was $18 and some change just for that and an egg roll. I've heard people say their food is pricey but I'll pay the premium especially since the food is always good plus the veggies and meats always seem fresh and not frozen or questionable like other joints. Go check 'em out and don't let the Planet Fitness next door guilt trip ya!

Flavor, texture, portion... no notes. The lychee martinis were a highlight (especially since they were doing BOGO ), and the staff made the whole experience even better super fun and great energy. If you're craving dim sum and a good time, this place is definitely worth the stop.

I always order a lot of dishes because I like what I like and I also know I'll have leftovers. I sent back the pan fried taro pudding because it was so bland and it didn't have many of the main ingredients in it. If it were there, it was so skimpy I didn't find any. (The Chinese sausage and dried shrimp) The pain fries soy sauce noodles were overcooked. It's suppose to be pan fried and it was not. Also very skimpy on the black mushrooms. Not very flavorful. The Steamed shrimp dumplings were mediocre. The skin was gummy and fell apart. The shrimp filling wasn't too bad. The shrimp with rice pasta was probably the best dish there. But it was still lacking in flavor. The steamed ribs with black bean sauce was very bland. The ribs were tough and tasteless. The braised chicken feet were over cooked. The texture was horrible like eating mush. The flavors were also off. The egg tarts looked good but the flavors again were off. Borderline going bad. It had that slight aftertaste of sourness. The shell was also flavorless. The BBQ pork buns were also disappointing. The ratio of bread to filling was off. Very small amount. But I was a little happy this happened because the filling didn't taste good at all. The hot tea was also disappointing. I always order jasmine tea when having dim sum. They used a low quality tea bag instead of real loose jasmine tea leaves which also includes the flowers. No fragrance at all of Jasmine tea. Needless to say, I will not be going back on my next visit. It was very expensive for what they give you. Especially since the food was so bad. I gave it two stars because the service was very good and the view was decent. I am Chinese... born in Hong Kong. So I know what dim sum should taste like. I wish I had seen the review that had a photo of the salt and pepper shrimp before I went because I would not have gone. Their salt and pepper shrimp is not authentic and I would have not gone and saved myself $80 for my lunch.

They're at 10586 Old St Augustine Road in Mandarin with a nice size parking lot so their location is great and parking isn't a concern. I'll get to the food in a minute but I'll start by saying that before we opened our fortune cookies at the end, I jokingly said "I hope one of these says 'you will get your original Facebook account back". They didn't say that but I included a photo of both because I feel like they're close enough As far as food goes, we split the Peony Sampler for an appetizer and loved it. It definitely did it's job as a sampler because now we know we like all of their appetizers and would order any of them on their own in the future. I ordered Egg Drop Soup after that because it's a favorite of mine. I always add a little salt to their version of it but I add salt to a lot of soups so that may just be a "me" thing. I had the Sweet & Sour Pork with Fried Rice for my entree, which is the same things had last time and it's still great. Between the appetizer and the soup and the entree, I was hoping to have enough to take home for lunch tomorrow and I definitely did. My wife had the General Chicken. She really liked the sauce because it was sweet but has a little bit of spicy kick to it. She said the same thing I said about the chicken itself; she loved that it was big pieces of juicy white meat. She was also surprised by how much she liked the broccoli which made for one of those things where you could get a bite of everything at once. She also had a lot to take home, so she's happy with that too. Thank you again to the person who posted about Peony in the group recently. We had a great lunch thanks to your reminder.
