Food is good and has a nice flavor. I feel like the texture of their rice and overall presentation is better than some other places. I really enjoy the chicken mei fun with garlic string beans. If you get the seafood eggroll (the one with cream cheese) try it with "chili oil" (it costs a couple cents more). The sweet and sour chicken has a good breading to chicken ratio. They are good about letting you get sauces on the side instead of smothered on the food. I love their bourbon chicken but don't always like the sauce getting in my white rice like that. My only "complaint" is that I wish they had some bok choy, bamboo shoots, or some other type of vegetables instead of broccoli and carrots (cooked carrots are one of my least favorite things on earth). read more

I have been eating at the golden egg roll for more than a decade. I would say that the service is a little bit slow even if you do call in. Every time I walk into the establishment it is a huge line in the drive-through and also doing walk-in orders as well. I would say the best time to go to the Golden eggroll if you want the best thing for your book as to check out their lunch, menu. I will send my goal to order is usually shrimp egg for young and beef lo mein. And if I'm willing to push it a bit, I will say that Mongolian beef is pretty good and I do enjoy spicy food. When you do order your food and it's time for you to check out please ask for extra soy sauce or duck sauce or mustard sauce, cause they usually will just give you one of each so you do have to ask for extra. But I will see that the service is pretty smooth like if you do call in the order they'll give you a number and then tell you to come in 15 minutes or so. You still may have to wait a bit of extra time. The parking lot is a little tight so if you do decide to drive through. To make the order you may be waiting a bit more just because of convenience. The last time I had the Mongolian beef it was pretty tender and I also got the house rice a multitude of things just combine with gravy. read more

Strictly ubereats. I absolutely love this place. Been really enjoying their egg roll s

A. I'm from Rhode Island - don't judge B. Northern Chinese food is the standard for me (plentiful and delicious) C. I've been searching for a good replacement for my beloved Chen's restaurant from Westerly RI D. Read reviews last night on FB about good Chinese food here in Jacksonville, when I saw positive reviews about The Golden Eggroll I got excited. E. Tried them today and was thrilled how great the kind woman at the drive thru window was (she even offered my copilot golden retriever two Milkbones !). Enjoyed the food, the customer service as well as the selections. F. I'll be back!!! read more

Their food is always super fresh and piping hot. Their line is ALWAYS wrapped around the building so you may experience a little bit of a wait but not too long. The lady at the window is always nice and has something witty to say to make me smile. I always do the vegetable egg foo yong. Best dish!! read more

Food is always fresh! They are friendly in their own way, lol. You can take out or dine in with plenty of space.

I went on a Sunday night and ordered sweet and sour pork with fried rice. The pork was dried out and hard and the rice was sticky and not good, also paid for a egg roll that I didn't get. read more

I'm not a huge fan of Chinese food, but on a recommendation I tried the Golden Eggroll. I had no major issues with the restaurant, but I just wasn't a huge fan of the what I tried. Again, my choice of food is probably making me bias on this review. Pros-They have a ton of options to choose from, and portions are large. Service was fast. Drive through. Cons-The food is cooked in bulk and isn't made to order. The organization of waiting was odd. read more

The Golden Eggroll - a restaurant counter with menus - Chinese Near Me - Jacksonville, Florida

Alright, I'll attempt to keep this clear and concise so you see what's this all about. No matter what day during the week, this place always draws a crowd! I will say it's busier during the weekends .. if you're thinking of stopping by, go inside as opposed to the drive-thru. This Chinese American cuisine is like no other in the city, in my opinion. There's been a few places I've tried but I keep coming back here. It could be because of how friendly the staff is. When you become a regular, guilty, they remember your name and check up on your family. I think it could also be that they're a neighborhood cornerstone and I feel their food is catered as such. The aforementioned food is always hot and made to order! The wings, the fried rice, the eggrolls, the gravy .. maaaan, you can get that gravy poured over everything, it just compliments the meal. The veg, not soggy, that nice al denté bite of the broccoli and carrots .. the crispy sweet & sour chicken. The food is piled high, enough for lunch or dinner the next day but why not eat it all and embrace the food coma!? Unfortunately there are no photos as I'm strictly business and dive right in! I could say more but I've said enough to crave a plate and I'm on my way. read more

I would have gave better reviews but every time I ask for extra soy sauce they say in bag and it never is. They lie in front of your face and think you going to tip do better read more

The Golden Eggroll - MENU - Chinese Near Me - Jacksonville, Florida

I ordered my usual test dish of chicken and broccoli. The staff was polite but not out of the friendly even when I told them that this was my first visit to this restaurant. The clientele of the business were very nice however. As a matter of fact on of them told me that the same restaurant on Atlantic was much better than this one and that he only stoped here if he was working in the area. Ok back to the food. I'd say that the meal was nothing to write home about. The rice was not great and the chicken and broccoli sauce was soupy. The broccoli was fresh and had a crunch but the sauce flavor was mediocre. My two stars are for the freshness of the food. read more

This is definitely the best Chinese restaurant in northwest Jacksonville or Jacksonville period. Ive been coming here for over 15 years and this has always been my favorite place for Chinese. Of course I haven't eaten at every single Chinese restaurant in Jax, but I don't think any of the others come close. I always get their orange chicken with fried rice and their portions are larger than anywhere else. read more

Food had smell and taste of a cleaning chemical. Returned the food and was not offered the meal free of charge or any type of service recovery after waiting for a long time. - Former regular customer read more

I waited 25 minutes for these old wings. As I was driving off, I heard her say, "we need 2 more batches of fried wings", which means I got the ones that were probably sitting around since lunch. With that amount of wait time, I would have at least expected the food to be fresh. The rice was also flavorless. For $8.56, I could have made better at home. I only settled for this spot, because it was cold, they had drive-thru and I had little babies in the car. Not a fan of these tempura batter fried wings either. It's hard to fry raw chicken wings with tempura batter because it's done before the chicken is. The inside was a little pink. My 1 1/2 yr old ripped the overcooked breading off and threw it on the floor. read more

Got the "general chicken combo" which consisted of...soggy, over salted, and sauce saturated hunks of what I am hoping was meat. The combo I assumed came with pork fried rice, however it did not. I gave two stars because the egg roll truly was golden after all. read more

Extremely RUDE in drive thru & the food is nothing to write home about. Take your time & business elsewhere.

I have been a loyal custy for almost 20 years. I know the hard working women by first name. They know my kids and they take care of business. The food is always fresh never over or under cooked. I've been eating here since I was a preteen(meaning like 16+ years). The place has the perfect combo of great tasting food, generous portions and cheap prices. Got some pretty pathetic looking vegetable delight from this place. Looked so bad when I arrived at home I drove 20 minutes back to return it. Wife ate her shrimp fried rice before I could say "I'll be back" so I guess she will be back. Went through the drive thru after leaving work. Placed two orders and the cashier messed up my order and gave me the complete opposite of what I asked for. Unfortunately, I was not aware of this until I got home, which is 20 minutes away. When called to complain about the issue, the person who answered the phone admitted to taking the order incorrectly. However, her attitude was that of a person who could care less. Save your money and spend it with people who care about the customer. read more
