Came to visit Dallas for a week, and when my mom and I travel a Spanish Tapas restaurant is a must! This restaurant is located in a cute little house and we absolutely loved the vibes :) So here is a review of everything we ordered: Cauliflower - this was under the vegetable tapas section. It's mixed with manchego cheese and it kind of gave a fancy mac n cheese vibe. I absolutely loved this dish! It was super flavorful and delicious Mollejas (sweetbread) - this was made with lemon and capers. Personally think they cut it up a little too small which enhanced the saltiness, but other people may like this better!! Pulpo (octopus)- the olive oil used for this dish was so delicious! the potatoes under were a perfect pairing Paella mixta- this has a mix of seafood and meat. Their portion for the toppings were amazing!! I loved the chicken and the shrimp! The addition of the calamari and the pork were perfect also. Although they did not have the crispy bottom like a lot of Paellas, it was still very delicious and flavorful! Overall, everything (except the Paella) was a little too salty for us, but the flavors were still there and it was still very tasty! If you like Paella "Chipotle" style definitely try it here. I am always on the hunt for a great paella. All ingredients were cooked separately and then combined together so the seafood flavor or the flavor of the sofrito was not there. The mussels were raw, and coated in cheap olive oil. This rating gets knocked down due to our server who was not attentive to us at all and also pretty judgmental on our drinking. Once we ordered our drinks, he made some comment and never returned to our table for the next hour or so. Only returned to tell us they were closing in 10 minutes and if we needed anything. I did remark, well we needed food like an hour ago but you wouldn't stop at our table. We waved down other servers to at least get water. We did snack on bread, cheese, and gambas al Ajillo. It's tucked back on a tree-lined street. If you don't know what you're looking for, you might miss it. It's a quaint spot that seems like it has a lot of regulars. Lupita was our server, and she checked on us the perfect amount. We didn't feel harassed, and we didn't feel ignored. This is a great skill. We ordered so much food mainly because of my food allergies that wouldn't allow us to share much. Anyway, we started with a pitcher of sangria. I got the mixed croquettes (cheesy potato deliciousness), the potatas bravas with aioli (chef's kiss), and the pork ribs (if I wasn't in public, I would have licked my fingers). The paella was just okay...wasn't authentic in that they cook most of the meats like the chicken and Shrimp separate from the dish and add them after the fact. The place feels exactly like visiting someone's old home. I did enjoy the ambiance of the natural lighting and the view of someone's backyard. We only came here to snack and drink some of their house wine. We had their octopus dish that is smothered in olive oil. My partner and I both agreed that it did not taste good at all. It was very smokey and unbearable. There was a couple pieces that wasn't that Smokey and was decent with bread. Then we ordered their charcuterie board that included their Iberian ham. We enjoyed one of the hams (finely sliced ones) but the other one had a smelly taste to it. For the cheeses, we chose the manchego and the murcia goat cheese. We really enjoyed both cheeses. We ordered their bread to have it with the ham and cheese but it took forever to come out. We were halfway done until we finally got it. The bread was pretty good and tasted great with the olive oil from the octopus tapa. The wine we had was not bad. I thought it was strange that they don't serve wine in wine glasses. The food was good, I just wish it had had a bit more seasoning to it, whether that be salt or something else. The dark ambiance of the restaurant was nice and calming. Good for a quiet dinner. The wait staff was attentive and prompt, but I wouldn't say they're overly friendly. Great selection of food on the menu. I would not recommend the shark dish though, even though it's popular on the menu- I think it's just the novelty of it that has people ordering it. Be careful if you have any food allergies here- none of it is labeled as gluten free or has nuts. And even when you think you've ordered something safe, it comes out differently than described and could fall within your food allergy bucket. Just asking some additional items Ive tried. This place is still wonderful and worth your time /appetite. Ham croquettes - While I still enjoy these for their starchy, cheesy goodness, they actually don't stand out as much compared to the rest of the meal. If youre planning on getting a bunch of food, you may want ot skip these, strictly so you have room for other stuff. These things are quite dense and will fill you up. Crostini appetizer (Salmon /tomato jam) - A delightful bite that's worth getting Grilled artichoked - It sits in quite a good amount of butter. Would have preferred to see this dialed back, but if you like artichokes, then this is stil a winner. Clams in garlic sauce are good, but they arent as great as the mussels. Id say if your ok with the natualy chewy clam texture and primarily garlic profile in the sauce (or should I say broth) then go for it. Baby shark - loved the flavor of these. The right amount of breading and lemon that counterbalance the unique fishiness of the shark that I cant fully describe. Sage poached pears - quite an uncommon dish, but I enjoyed it. If it were a smaller portion, you could consider this a pre-dessert palate cleanser, but made with some heavier ingredients. read more

First time for dinner on an early Friday evening. Like so many other reviews mention parking is very scarce around the restaurant. Most parallel spaces around a several block area (State Thomas) are posted with signs "reserved for residences". I found a free 3-hour spot inside a parking garage a couple of blocks down the same street as the restaurant. The valet was not operating as the valet stand was stored on the front patio. Rats! The restaurant is a converted old house. I like the boho Spain vibe inside. Real Madrid futbol memorabilia decorate the big flat screen TV just across from the walk-up bar. A counter-high table and six stools are near the TV for you to enjoy just a drink (like I did) before getting seated. I enjoyed a great glass of pricey but wonderful 100% Tempranillo red wine. I was very pleased to find they opened a fresh $210 bottle to pour my glass. In fact, many of their wines are available by both the glass or bottle. No dinner reservations are taken. My dinner group of 6 were seated as soon as we had 5 folks present. We opted to eat inside. The patio dining area is green and lush looking. We preferred the AC on this hot evening. Menus include several appetizers, tapas, entrees, salads, etc. running the gamut from shrimp, calamari, cod, ham, several paella's, veggies, etc. The only thing I did not expect was that none of the seven or so different tapas my group ordered and shared were served with the traditional toothpicks. So we asked for serving spoons. Service was friendly and attentive. All staff were masked. As of this review, they were not asking customers to mask. We reordered the grilled okra and ham croquettes. I also tried a glass of there house 100% Tempranillo and it was almost as enjoyable as the other select one. Several servers and bus staff abounded so I can say this restaurant is well-staffed for dinner service unlike so many others in recent times. Food was brought out at proper hot/cold temperatures. Their complimentary house bread is outstanding. I used a piece of the soft yet pliable white bread to dip into the olive oil/butter remaining after our scallops were gone. Not single bad comment about any of the food, drinks, or service. We were all too full to order desserts or coffees. Our group of 6 ran up a bill of $173 which was a pleasant surprise. We split it after including tip. Great place for small adult groups or romantic dinner. Ambience is subdued and allows table conversations. Four stars. Would earn another star if valet service was available for dinnertime on Fridays. read more

We should've left right then and there, but we still decided it to give it a shot. The cazón was mediocre, our Tortilla Sí was lukewarm in the middle (but tasty!) and my Oxtail soup was mostly bones. And of course, Francisco had the same awful attitude in the grand two times he checked on us, one of them being where we requested the check. It's appalling that the manager of a restaurant would behave this poorly and answer questions with a bitter and sarcastic attitude. Don't bother with this place. The actual worst service I've ever received in my life. The waitress was extremely rude. I don't leave reviews but truly have never felt more uncomfortable at a dinner. For some examples other than her attitude towards my friends and I, she never came back to our table after taking our order, never asked if we wanted more to drink or poured more water, when I told her I had an allergy she was rude and made it seem like an inconvenience for my nut allergy. There was nothing with nuts in our order I just wanted to be extra careful as I'm anaphylactic. We had to get her attention for the check, after tipping she was rude and walked off. I wish I tipped zero dollars and will never come back here again bc that was so extremely uncomfortable. Very unfortunate as this place is so close to my neighborhood. read more

If you are looking for an authentic Spanish tapas restaurant in Dallas definitely make a point to stop by Si Tapas. I've been on a Tapas rampage since visiting Spain this past summer and found this place while visiting a friend in Dallas. The restaurant is very cozy and has a very nice patio in the back, we got their Charcuterie board with Jamón Iberico, which is sliced aged pork, might be best Tapas dish of all times and definitely should be on your menu! We also had their paella which is loaded with seafood and super delicious. After stopping here, your next stop should be a visit to Spain to try the real thing! read more
