Everything at Avanti was so charming. You can absolutely tell it is family run which is nice. Our service was good. I'll be honest the bread didn't look like much when it came out but we really enjoyed it. My friends split Caesar salad and the chicken parmigiana dinner portion. I had the carbonara which I'm a big fan of. For dessert we tried the peanut butter pie and creme brulee. Was a good experience and I'd recommend it to others.
Stopped by Avanti for dinner and had a good overall experience. We started with the Avanti garlic loaf, which was warm and good. For entrees, we had the crab meat crusted sea bass and the farfalle carbonara pasta, both cooked perfectly. To drink, I ordered the cherry Hugo spritz. The restaurant is cozy and inviting. Service was polite but lacked enthusiasm. Our server didn't offer menu suggestions or mention the beer of the month or weekly ravioli. He also didn't ask if we'd been there before, which would've elevated the experience. Overall, good food and atmosphere with average service.
My entire family was in town for Easter and we are true Italians from New York, so of course pasta has to be on the menu for one of our nights out. We decided to come to Avanti based on the photos and the amount of reviews. The ambience was fantastic. My nephew said he felt like he was on vacation. It was fun and lively. The decor was perfect - almost old style Italian. The live entertainment was a guy playing the classic guitar and he was super. The food was not bad at all. So you have to understand that no one cooks as good as I do or my sister; the food coming out of our kitchens is what we grew up with. That's why most of the time we do not go out for Italian food, but with that in mind, for this place, the food was good. So now for my recommendations: bread should come with the meal complementary PERIOD! When the bill came we were shocked to see we were charged for 2 orders of bread. Yes the bread was elevated- a very delicious garlic type of bread with some Parmesan melted on top but that's not what we wanted. We wanted basic bread that you sop up all the sauce with. All the waiter said was "bred for the table?", so we were not expecting the garlic bread. But if you do order it from the starter section, I will say it was fantastic. Also, please carefully read the menu; many items that usually come with your entrée appear to be à la carte, for example we were charged over 80 bucks for six salads. Apparently they did not come with the entrée, however, when the waiter came around to take our orders, we gave the entrée name and then he asked "super or salad?". That would lead one to believe that that came with the meal, but apparently it did not. Also, when we ordered the calamari appetizer, he brought two orders. We found this out when the bill came. For a party of six, we had four cocktails, one iced tea and one water, six entrées plus the bread we had to pay for and six salads. We did NOT order coffee, after dinner drinks, extra wine or dessert. The bill was over $500. The waiter had added a 22% tip. Yes I understand for large parties tip gets automatically added, on but he was not worth 22% and now I am gonna get into that. My brother-in-law was the designated driver. He was not drinking. He had his whole family in his vehicle so no, he did not want to get into an accident. He ordered an iced tea half sweet the waiter gave him a difficult time mostly because he didn't order a cocktail and it became embarrassing. So overall ambience five stars; Food three and a half stars ; Service three stars-I don't like having to pay 22% gratuity for a smart mouth.
This place quickly became our go to restaurant! I love absolutely everything about it! Valet is great and the attendant is super kind and efficient even though he is working by himself! Bartender is amazing and makes drinks just the way you like it! Every single member of the team is outstanding! And let me tell you about food! Delicious!!! We have tried multiple positions on their menu and everything was spectacular! I do not like raw meat even if it's a little bit so I ordered my beef medallions well done and the server was so kind in explaining that I might be dissatisfied but when I explained to him my preference my beef was cooked just the way I like it! They do have live music as well and the whole place feels extremely authentic Highly recommend!
Fantastic meal. Great ambiance and excellent service like you used to get in many restaurants before 2020. Try the toasted ravioli app and garlic bread. Any entree will not disappoint. I tried the stuffed veal chop special. Tom and Deb - thanks for the wine suggestion and great service
Popped into Avanti for a Saturday date night. The restaurant was lively and bustling, and the service was spot on. The food came to the table in a timely manner and all dishes were tasty. We tried three different entrées because we couldn't decide which one sounded best. All of the dishes we're tasty and on par for upscale Italian.
Stopped in for a bottle of wine and pasta, left with full stomachs and warm hearts! Exactly what we needed for a Sunday, last night in Dallas dinner. Unknowing to us, bottles were 50% off (big win!). Pasta was delicious.. had the carbonara and bolognese. Sat at the bar- Craig was amazing! When we're back to Dallas, will stop by here for the food, ambience and exceptional service from Craig and the bar staff!
A visitor here during a Thursday evening and our service was amazing. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu options and the food was delicious. I loved that it gave the mom and Pop feel.
A really cute spot that also feels really intimate. I found the food to be pretty mediocre and our service was also sadly really slow.
Came here for a birthday celebration and ambiance was great! They had live music and great Christmas themed decorations throughout the restaurant. Food was very tasty and fresh. The fettuccini Diablo with grilled chicken was delicious the chicken was very tender and very flavorful. The garlic bread was also very good with fresh garlic and would order both dishes again. The server recommended the stuffed mushrooms we didn't care for because they lacked flavor and honestly didn't taste like anything. We were recommended the mushrooms because of the flavor but found out it was quite the opposite. We were there to enjoy a nice dinner and drinks but service often felt rushed with ordering apps and main dishes.
They had a live guitar player which was lovely. They have live music every night. Indoor, outdoor, and covered patio seating. Their ravioli of the week was seafood ravioli in a vodka sauce which was delicious. We found the bread, meatballs, bolognese and escargot to be of average flavor. Service was prompt.
Shoutout to TikTok for bringing this fabulous restaurant to my attention. Went here for a girl's night out and we had a ball! I wish I remembered our server's name because he was amazing and so kind and attentive. He even went as far to make some of the off menu drinks we asked for (and they were delicious). There were eight of us and I don't remember what everyone ordered but as far as my meal, I had a lemon drop (off menu but they have the ingredients as they have a full bar), garlic loaves, calamari, fettuccini diablo (no mushrooms). The lemon drop was perfectly balanced and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The bread was super warm and the cheese and garlic ratio was done well. I was not a big fan of the calamari, not much flavor and could have been fried harder in my opinion. While, the fettuccini diablo wasn't the spiciest, the chicken was cooked perfectly and the flavors of the dish went together very well together. It was, of course, topped with fresh grated Parmesan cheese which added some coolness to the dish. We didn't get dessert, but I was very tempted by the creme brûlée and will return to try that out! Overall, I'm so glad that I tired Avanti out and will be returning to try some other menu items! Notes: There is valet and street parking available.
Pretty good Italian restaurant! Ambiance was cozy & romantic, as you can see there are actual lighted candles on my table! Live music! - A guitarist They also have different options for seating, dining room or covered patio. I ordered the Chicken Picata which was so delicious I cleaned my plate before I could get a photo. Parking is not easy. It's on McKinney Ave so arrive early to find parking to make your reservation in time. They have valet if you value this as an option. I recommend visiting. read more

Came here to celebrate my birthday and the food was decent. The bread tasted great. The mushroom appetizer dish was very disappointing and lacked flavor despite looking like it had flavor. Ordered the fettuccine diablo extra spicy and that was delicious! The chicken was very tender and the pasta dish had a nice spicy kick to it. Espresso martini was strong as well. Nice Italian spot in uptown for a nice date or catching up with someone. The service was so attentive and decor was so cute and casual. Drinks were all so light and not too strong. I got the sangria cocktail and it was so sweet and good!! The Cesar salad was nothing above average but the calamari fritti was amazing- I loved how it was more bigger pieces of calamari versus more fried bits. I got the fettuccine avanti ($34) and the portion was more than I expected. The steaks were so tender but the sauce lacked a little flavor. Slightly underwhelming but if there was a touch of seasoning it'd be perfect!! I'd come here again and recommend carpooling since parking is limited. read more

Coming from New Jersey, we weren't sure how good the Italian would be. But the food was delicious, the staff was great with recommendations. The owner gave us a detailed history of the restaurant. If I lived here I'd be a frequent customer. Definitely worth a visit!! read more

This is the perfect spot for any occasion! The food is phenomenal. We had great service with Ashley, she was bubbly and personable, and made the overall experience a 10 out of 10. We were celebrating our anniversary, and the whole restaurant was decorated for Christmas, which made for a very delightful, relaxing evening! We will definitely be recommending Avanti to everyone we know, as well as returning for possible special occasions in the future! read more
This restaurant is an intimate dining experience that gives subtle European vibes, making it a great date night spot. The best part is the pasta is delicious while being at a fantastic price point. The chicken parmesan was tender with a breaded herb crust. The mozzarella was fresh, and the soft green beans complemented the fettuccine alfredo perfectly. Even with a reservation, it took a while to get seated (~30 mins) but the meal was worth the wait. Complimentary valet parking is available also. I can't wait to be back! read more
