We did not have a good experience here, basically like most dealerships they tried to charge WAY more for a used car than it was worth and then knocked it down to the price it was worth to make us think we were getting a deal. They just kept repeating that it had a sunroof.... We live in Phoenix, I get plenty of sun. I'm not prepared to pay extra for a sunroof because this car is old and has 100k miles LOL. Then they tried to ask us if something was wrong with them and that's why we didn't want to buy. Ya something is wrong with the people that work at this dealership that we encountered. They're a bunch of snakes. One of the guys was trying to make us feel bad for him because he hadn't made a sale all day.... Saying he must need to go to church because something is wrong with him. After we asked them not to call us they called repeatedly throughout the week and called past 9pm..... Very unprofessional. I went over to Audi in north Scottsdale and they treated us with respect and they were fair. I was able to get the same model of a car two years newer, a much better price, plus a 3 year warranty and they made the process so easy. Glad we dodged that bullet. Take your business to any other dealership really. You'll waste your time at showcase Honda. Those guys are not looking for your best interest. And no thanks Zachary Z.. read more

My family just bought our 4th and 5th Honda from Deneen Smeraldo, Showcase Honda. Why do we keep coming back to Deneen Smeraldo? Because she gives our family the best "value". Value = Price + Customer Experience. One more thing. We bought our first Honda from Deneen in 2010. How often can you say, a sales person has been at the same dealership for 7 or more years and stays in touch? Very rare. So if you want to build a lasting relationship, go see Deneen. If you want a transaction, I guess any sales person will do. read more

Showcase Honda is a SCAM! Brought my Honda in due to problems with steering.. apparently I needed my power steering replaced according to their diagnostics. After paying $4000 (FOUR THOUSAND!) dollars to have this replaced, I quickly noticed a new and odd sound when turning my wheel. Being a naive customer, I thought this was just due to the new power steering. After all, I could at least drive without difficulty turning. I come in to showcase to get the sound checked out, their diagnostics tells me my front struts were worn out, costing nearly $2000 (TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS) to replace. However, being the smart customer I am, I go to a local mechanic for another consultation. Apparently the weird noise was due to a loose rack and pinyin and subframe and other miscellaneous parts that were LEFT LOOSE when installing the power steering from my prior visit. THE HONDA SHOWCASE TEAM LEFT THEM LOOSE SO I COULD COME BACK TO HAVE SHELL OUT MORE MONEY FOR ANOTHER PART, while they secretly would tighten the bolts they purposefully left loose. My local mechanic fixed my problem by tightening all the loose parts for chump change. Honda showcase tried scamming another $2000 from me.. disappointing that this type of business exists. NEVER COME TO SHOWCASE HONDA! A BUNCH OF SCAM ARTISTS THEY ARE! read more

Worst after sales service. They sold me a new car with a dent. I reported the dent at check out. Its been a month and my vehicle hasn't been repaired. I have called them repeatedly and all they do is take my name a number saying they will call back. They never do. They dont care about their customers after they made their sale. Don't buy at this dealership. read more

I wish I had read other reviews before going here to look at vehicles... I will start by saying that the only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because everyone who I dealt with was extremely friendly and made me feel welcome. That is honestly the only positive aspect of my experience at Showcase. I also know that the car buying experience is not supposed to be all sunshine and rainbows, I've had some pretty bad experiences in the past, but this was definitely the most frustrating of them all. I went here because I wanted to look at the HR-V and was looking to trade in my smaller car for something newer and a little bigger. I am completely happy with the vehicle I chose so far, it's only been 4 days but it drives great, etc. etc. However- my experience with the sales staff at this dealership has been nothing but complete bull. After negotiating a little and seeing numbers that were a little out of my price range as far as monthly payments, I was willing to accept the fact that I couldn't afford a new car right now and maybe I needed to wait a couple months until I could come up with a bigger down payment. That's what I told the salesman, and that's when they sent the sales manager in to "further negotiate". I explained to him what my maximum monthly amount was (already $140/mo higher than my previous payment on the trade in), and he convinced me that paying $30/mo more than my max wasn't THAT much, and I agreed, because I knew I could budget better. We shook hands, signed off on the deal, (if I promised to write a great yelp and google review, by the way, no pressure there at all!) and I signed ALL of my paperwork for the trade in, the loan, etc. 3 days later I get called in to financing because "the loan terms had changed". They were then telling me that my payments were actually going to be $90/month higher than the deal I was offered, so now $120 higher than my maximum and $260 higher than my previous payment!). I explained it all to this guy (who was extremely nice- Josh in financing was probably the nicest and most willing to help out of everyone that I dealt with), and he said he would talk to whoever he needed to and would get it taken care of, because I was promised a deal and signed off on that deal. The next day, I got called in AGAIN, and was told they were not able to make the deal work, and that I would be paying more than the original amount agreed upon. And that there was nothing else to be done about it. This entire process has been nothing but stressful and frustrating. If you are going to promise people a deal, and sign on it, then you should not be coming back days later to then say "just kidding!" I asked to speak with a sales manager and they wouldn't allow me to, which made the entire thing even more frustrating. And on top of all of that hassle, I realized the morning after leaving my trade in that I had forgotten some stuff in my old car, it was out of sight and I didn't think about it until early the next morning (13 hours later). I went to the dealership and they let me into the car but the stuff had already been removed. Somehow no one was able to find out who cleaned the car out and where my stuff might have been moved to (or if it was carelessly thrown away). 13 hours later. I left the dealership at 9:00pm on a saturday and returned as soon as they opened at 10:00am Sunday morning and it had already been "lost" in that time. So now, not only am I spending WAY more than I wanted to on this car, but I also now have to spend the additional money to replace the stuff that went "missing". Needless to say I will not be returning to showcase honda. I will get my first free oil change and then I will never return here for any other business again. And when people ask me where I bought my car, I'll make sure they know how completely unacceptable this experience has been. read more

When I arrived to pickup car two days after signing. I had to wait over an hour and a half as the car was detailed and prepared despite me clearly indicating what day I would be returning. Showcase Honda is not loyal to its long-time customers. Super disappointed today. I took my 2016 Honda Accord EXL-V6, beautiful condition, had all my maintenance done at Showcase for 5 years. Have done "whatever" they recommended I change/update/replace for 5 years. Several dealerships have been calling me leaving messages they want to buy my car because they are low in inventory. Today Showcase Honda insulted me by low-balling my car by thousands, much lower than NADA value, Kelly Blue Book value, Edmonds value --- and I was honest about any imperfections when I used these sites to ensure I wasn't inflating my cars worth. If anyone knows the value of my well-kept car it is Showcase Honda, right? Nope, they were the same type of low-balling used car dealerships we've all grown to hate. Shame on them for trying to take advantage of a loyal customer. Based on the prices they are selling their used cars for on their lot today, large profit versus what they are willing to pay for my comparable car. If you are looking for loyalty and fairness do not go here. read more

After finally getting ahold of someone willing to try to address the issue, I was able to get all 3 issues I had addressed. -I was able to get my refund on the theft protection plan -I got the ball rolling on the refund from MPP (I still take issue with that situation, but that's more against MPP than it is against the dealership). -The issue with my license plate was a result of poor communication and followup, and is being resolved. My advice to future customers: if you find yourself ignored or feeling lied to after purchasing, be persistent in finding the solution. Also, when dealing with the customer care representatives (including management), be respectful, as it goes a long way towards peoples' willingness to help you. They most likely had nothing to do with it, but will try to fix it. That is their job, so be nice. read more

If I could give this place a negative star rating, I would. These guys are absolute crooks. They play games, wheel and deal you, lie, scam, and pull a million "tricks" out of their hats. They don't care about customer service or integrity, let alone respect. I bought my car from them without realizing how completely full of shit this place is and then my mother, without my knowledge, or else I would have never let this happen, went here to buy her's years later because they promise best prices, but actually up-charge everyone, so she got completely taken advantage of and WAY over-charged for her Honda. They literally took advantage of a 76 year old woman. How disrespectful can people be? They also had complete disregard for what she was asking for and sold her a car that was super complicated and the opposite of what she was looking for. Then, they had the audacity to speak condescendingly towards her and myself as we went in to ask questions about the car she purchased, which NO ONE knew how to clearly answer and proceeded to look at us as if we were the idiots! These men are not only your typical sleazy car salesmen, but they lack respect and integrity. How these guys, especially the manager of this place, sleep at night, is beyond me. DO NOT EVER go here. You will regret it. Ask any other dealership in the area-everyone thinks Showcase is a joke, because they are. Karma doesn't need an address-she'll find each and every one of you assholes. read more

Brice and the Internet team took great care of me as a first time customer. The CR-V Hybrid EX-L I had chosen ended up being sold by mistake. They went through a Dealer Trade with Earnhardt to get me another EX-L Hybrid..... though the wrong car was given to the lot attendant. I have purchased many vehicles and I have always gotten a military discount at any dealership. I was told during the "deal" I would get a $500 military discount like any dealership in the country. I was then told I would get a $500 rebate if I chose Honda for financing. Simple math states that is $1000. I was only awarded $500 because the dealership stated after the purchase that the Honda rebate of $500 is the military discount for financing through Honda. I have always gotten a military discount regardless of who I use for financing. The dealership stated someone can only get a military discount if they finance through Honda, which is false. The next day i spoke with a manager and he stated anyone can get the $500 rebate if they finance through Honda, so if someone is military, that should equal an extra $500?? Also, the dealership had a markup of $4000 because they are hard to get right now, that is price gouging. Something felt off when talking with the dealership when I arrived and I should have trusted my gut feeling. I should have walked out. Don't do business with this dealership. read more

Unacceptable customer service. My family and I recently bought a 2016 Honda CR-V a month and a half ago and we have not received our license plate yet, and as of 7/30/19, our registration is expired! I've been calling for days now and probably talked to 10 different people who say they'll get this issue fixed but they haven't followed up! How hard is it to process a simple title registration? Does Showcase Honda really expect us to illegally drive with an expired registration? This is absolutely atrocious if I have to go through 10 people to fix this problem. Showcase Honda's customer service is a spectacular failure. read more

Pretty rough experience here... Took my car in for routine maintenance, oil change. They did a full inspection and told me I needed new breaks, so I purchased breaks with them. When I picked it up, I received a receipt stating they had done a full inspection. The next morning, my car didn't start. The battery was dead...somehow this got missed in their "full" inspection? Had to uber to and from work that day and miss a meeting to get the new battery. A day later, loud repeated thumping noises every time I slowed down. Had to again re-arrange my work schedule to take it in....they found that they had left some things lose. This experience ended up taking up way too much of my time. I paid more for the services that I received because they're supposed to be "master-certified Honda technicians" yet many things were missed and I had to go back several times. Won't be getting services from this location again. read more

1 star is even being generous.... We bought a car in March 2017, by far the worst experience. Our salesman was Amazing. Finance department were all fools. They had agreed on a postdated check, mind you I was 8 months pregnant and had been there 7 hours..... after we signed everything they decided they didn't want to accept a post dated check for the date they had agreed on the ENTIRE time we were signing papers. On top of that the finance guy had just moved here from California and kept talking to my husband about the women he was seeing on the side here in AZ and why he moved. So inappropriate. So we walked out so frustrated. The manager came running out to our car as we were turning out leaving the lot. He agreed to the date we were promised and we walked away with our car. Hesitant of course, but with the baby coming soon we were desperate to be done car shopping. 2 weeks later they called because they managed to get something wrong on our paperwork so they wanted us to come out there and sign it. No thanks.... we live an hour away and it was their oversight not ours. Cut to Jan 2018! We go to a tent sale at Peoria Sports Complex. Multiple dealerships from around the valley are there... we get in line and wouldn't you know the person we get stuck with works for Showcase! I told him straight forward how terrible our experience was last time and he said he would make sure it didn't happen again Stupid us for believing them right??? We find a car we love, we buy it seemed fine NOPE the vin they have on all out paperwork is SO wrong.... So my husband scheduled a time to go see them a little after 7 am this morning to get our new security system installed and fix the paperwork Guess what.... the service people have No record of him being scheduled And the guy who scheduled him isn't at work until 8... So my husband is now late for work because they can't do anything with our car because they have no record To say I hate this place is an understatement. I am also just frustrated that we were stupid enough to buy another car from them As soon as he said Showcase Honda I should have gone to the back of the line and let someone else get stuck with their incompetence read more

I had an appointment on 12/11 with Dan, a friend of a friend. I explained my credit; Dan did a credit check, no problem. Approved! Rate was high, but lower than I expected. We picked out a car, crunched numbers and the deal came to about $370/month after all the fees and tax. I told him 2-3 times that I didn't want to take the car home until there was a 100% sure deal. He repeatedly reassured me I was good to go. Dan explained that he is going to have me meet and sign the paperwork with Rob S. in finance. He told me Rob was great and knows that my budget is strict so he won't sell me anything that I don't need. Perfect! So I meet Rob and he sells me GAP insurance. I was ok with that. It was only $305 so would only add another $6-7 to my monthly payment. In talking to Rob I repeatedly brought up the quoted monthly payment on the car and Rob agreed. Then once GAP was added I REPEATEDLY said that will bring the payment up to around $380. He again agreed each time. In the course of talking to him, I told him OVER AND OVER that I was concerned about the financing and didn't want to take the care home with out it being final. He told me there was nothing to worry about; he wouldn't let me take it if he was at all concerned that there would be an issue. I told him 11 times that I was concerned about the car and 11 times he reassured me not to worry. So we went over the paperwork. Rob breezed through the paperwork with me. Didn't go over details with me, I didn't question him, I felt I had been assured and educated enough at that point to know what I was signing. Keep in mind that with GAP insurance, taxes and fees, that I was expecting to be paying around $380 a month for 60 months. So all is signed and Rob tells me TWICE that he will call me Tuesday to finalize the dear. So I leave in the car. On Monday I fax him requested documents and he confirmed he received them - but never calls. Thursday I email him, mildly annoyed at this point. He tells me he'll check on things and will call me Friday afternoon. Friday, then the weekend comes and goes. No word from Rob. I email him on Monday (I have had the car 8 days now) pretty irritated at this point. He replies saying the deal had been declined. But they were trying to package the loan somehow to get another bank to approve it. Wait, I was told that it was a sure deal. They're not coming back with a higher rate; they're coming back with an outright denial? He says they're working on something and he will get back to me in a week or so. Next day someone calls - they have a deal - he doesn't know the terms of the deal. I call Rob - he doesn't know the terms of the deal, tells me to call Alex. I call Alex - Alex doesn't know anything. Asks me why I was told to call him. Says he will find out and call me in 15 min Dan calls - tells me I was approved but doesn't know the terms of the deal. Asks when I am going to come in so he can be there. I call back leave a message for Alex. Rick calls me back. Finally someone knows the term. It took me talking to 5 people to find out the terms. The next day before going to make a new deal, I read over all my paperwork. I notice the monthly payment I agreed to (the one Rob skipped over) was $80 HIGHER than we had repeatedly discussed. There were add-ons for seat protection etc. I call and set up and appointment to meet with the GM. I was told he would call me to confirm. He doesn't. I show up to meet with him and get told he will meet with me shortly. He doesn't. After 10 minutes two boys (early 20s?) come over and introduce themselves. I explain I wasn't here to talk to them I was waiting for the GM. They go to find him. He never shows his face. The General Sales Manager finally comes to talk to me. He looks concerned after I spill over every detail (like I am here) but never once apologizes. Introduces me to Rick, doesn't tell him anything we just talked about other than I was upset. He text messages me the next day saying the approval is done at an even higher rate! That is 3 different rates I was given, 2 of them in less than 24 hrs from the same lender? They increased my rate by over 7%. Rick also never apologizes. Tells me he did the best he could. I ask how the rate changed within 24 hours. He never responded back. read more

They don't answer their phone! I got an airbag recall, and they won't pick up for me to make an appointment.

I was in the market for a new car and decided to test drive the new Honda Civic at Showcase Honda. The guy that drove around with me knew very little about the car or the features, but nevertheless I liked the car and asked what kind of deal they could offer me. So I sat down with the salesmen and they tell me the car that I like is actually not for sale, it was meant to be a loaner car for the shop (umm.. then why is it parked on the front row with all the other new Civics?), BUT they could call the owner and ask if he'd be willing to sell it to me, BUT the owner goes to bed in 15 minutes so I had to let them know RIGHT NOW! I had serious doubts that this car wouldn't be for sale tomorrow (and was pretty sure it wasn't the only grey Honda Civic in the Phoenix area) so I told them that it was a risk I was willing to take since I wasn't prepared to make a decision that night. They came back with a deal WAY over MSRP and full of all kinds of "packages" that were total dealership gimmicks. I told them I didn't want their packages, and wasn't willing to pay that much over MSRP. The salesmen kept asking about what kind of payment I was looking for, even though I kept telling him I didn't want to talk payment, I wanted to talk the price of the car. They left me alone for about 20 minutes, then came back with another ridiculous offer, but look! If you spread the loan out over 72 months look how low your payment is! I told them AGAIN, I don't want a 72 month loan and want to talk price of the car, not payment! And the price that you're offering is way over MSRP! So they leave for another 20 minutes and come back with another ridiculous offer. At this point I'm fed up with these guys so I tell them that this is a waste of my time and I need to leave. As soon as I stand up about 15 people come rushing up to me asking what they could do to get me in the car that night. I've never felt so hustled in my entire life, and told them there is nothing they could do and that I just needed to get the heck out of there! I practially had to run to my car like I was about to be torched by an angry mob! The next day I went to Hyundai of Tempe and had a total opposite experience (check out my review for them on Yelp) and bought a 2012 Hyundai Veloster at a great price, without feeling pressured or hustled. Definitely AVOID Showcase Honda when buying a new car. read more

THE WORST DEALERSHIP EVER TO HAVE DEALT. Showcase Honda is the thieving, methed out older brother that robbed your grandmother's silver collection to get a fix. Really. There is nothing good or decent about any person employed by this organization and they should be banned from the Better Business Bureau. They called me (this was after I left my original review) saying they needed to "recontract". This is patent bullshit, because that term does not exist, not in Merriam-Webster, not on dictionary.com, and not on the plane of existence that constitutes the veracity of Showcase Honda's very being. They are swindlers and thieves, and they tried this "recontract" crap on me in order to increase my already obscene APR and monthly payments, somehow eventually expecting me to pay upwards of 48 large for a $25,000 car. I'll sum up the outcome of this absurdity with the question my boyfriend asked after I left, to which I answered in the affirmative: "So, does someone have a 2008 Honda Element SC shoved up their ass?" They are pure, unadultered shitheads. ________ Here is my original review: It's hard to rate a car dealership because you have to keep in mind the innate annoyance car dealers are and provide. They're noisy, demanding, and at times, condescending. So, given that, I'll give these people 3 stars, just because the experience even with knowing they'd be assholes was still kind of annoying. I should have just told them to give me all the damn paperwork, a cup of coffee, and to leave me the hell alone. I thought the annoying part of car buying ended when I agreed to buy the car, but not so! Even more grating was them trying to hock all their extended warranty wares and giving me the evil eye for rejecting the tire pressure gauges. Please. Overall, it was probably the best car buying experience I could have had (I mean, I won't even review ABC Nissan or Camelback Toyota... they were just that godawful), but the beast deserves no more than 3 stars. read more

Do NOT go here. The salesmen are rude, pushy, sneaky, predatory, I could go on but I think you get the point. They literally SWARM your car like sharks the second you pull in, like they are going to go in for the kill. I went here last year when I was looking for a car and right when we're about to finally close the deal, the car *suddenly* is purchased by someone else...Then they get angry with you when you are actually tired of the process by this point (several hours later after all their games/phone calls/ "talking to the boss") and want to go home instead of going for the random car they decide is best for you.. As if that wasn't bad enough I went back just a few days ago (I know.. I suppose I only have myself to blame) where the salesman seemed like I was wasting his time and he ended up mocking me and telling me to go buy a Toyota. Seriously. read more

I recently helped my mother, a senior living in Sun City West, when she needed a new car. Yelp was our starting point. Yelp reviews of Phoenix area Honda and Toyota dealerships generally reflect a polarization at both ends of the rating spectrum, from which I concluded that the probability of having a good experience with any one of them was likely to be a roll of the dice. We visited or called nearly half the Honda and Toyota dealers in Phoenix, and discovered that some of them richly deserve their 1-2 star Yelp ratings. Showcase Honda was (for us) the single most negative experience. The price of the car (plus tax and license) was negotiated with a Showcase Honda manager in advance of our visit to the lot. Before appearing at the dealership, we attempted to reconfirm the price with the Showcase Honda representative to whom the manager referred us. In an email exchange, he reported that he could confirm the price of the vehicle plus tax, license and "fees". Further inquiry by email and telephone ultimately revealed that the price Showcase Honda intended to charge upon our arrival was approximately $700 more than the amount upon which we had agreed. Previously undisclosed "dealer add-ons" (e.g. mud flaps, nitrogen in the tires, window tinting, et cetera) aggregating about $700 were described as "fees" and added to the price. This was entirely inconsistent with the very clear agreement I had reached with the manager. I am thankful that I did not put my 82-year old mother through the exercise of traveling to Showcase Honda from Sun City West, only to find that the price of the car was $700 more than she was quoted. Based on this experience, I cannot imagine a circumstance under which I would do business with Showcase Honda. UPDATE: In response to Showcase Honda's public reply to my post (below), I contacted General Manager David Green and left a voicemail message for him. Mr. Green (to his credit) called me back, but his voicemail message to me demonstrated that he had no idea why I had called or any awareness of the problem. It appears that the dealership's reply by Cassie was simply a public relations effort intended to suggest a level of concern that in fact does not exist. read more

Purchased a vehicle with no issues. Got to a reasonable price and completed paperwork just fine. Purchased GAP insurance as well since this was a 2019. 2 weeks later I received a letter from the GAP company declining coverage and advised if I had questions to contact the finance dept. at the dealership. Originally worked with Kenn Spell, so I called him...4 TIMES IN 2 WEEKS. Was sent to his voicemail each time and never once received a call back. Finally called and asked to speak with anyone, was sent to a different finance manager. I explained the situation and was told "no, you have the coverage, that letter is probably from the car you traded in." I explained I didn't carry GAP on that vehicle and the letter specifically describes my new car and Showcase is shown as being CC'd. He said that was weird, but I have the coverage. I called the GAP company who confirmed coverage was denied because the paperwork the dealership submitted said I paid in cash, which I didn't. Called Showcase back and explained the situation. Was told a manager would be involved and call me by 1:00. 4 o'clock rolled around and I hadn't heard so I called back. Manager said it was closeout and he couldn't help until the following week. Called back on Wednesday of the next week and actually got a hold of Kenn Spell who advised no one told him he had a message. I told him I left 4 on his voicemail but he still wouldn't claim responsibility for not getting back to me. I went over the situation again and after 2 calls back from him was advised my credit union would receive a refund of what i paid for GAP as the coverage had indeed been declined. Keep in mind, this is now 6 1/2 weeks after the original purchase and I have been driving the whole time without coverage I was told I carried. Received good customer service when I was trying to buy and then was totally ignored after they have made their commissions. Nice work guys. Found coverage for less than half what they wanted to charge me and am now covered no thanks to anyone at Showcase Honda read more

Agreeing with some previous reviews, I wish I could give Showcase NEGATIVE five stars. This was by far the WORST buying experience I have ever had - car or otherwise. By far! My husband and I live in Las Vegas, but we were in Phoenix over the weekend for my sister's wedding. Being interested in the Honda Pilot and having a little extra time, we decided to stop by the nearest Honda dealer to check out the car. They had the exact model & color we wanted and the sales manager wasted no time matching the discounted price we had been quoted by another dealer. Well, the festivities of the weekend caught up with us and we didn't have time to sign all the paperwork, etc to buy the car. Returning to Vegas, we weren't able to get the same price on the exact model that we wanted, so we figured, "Why not fly down to Phx for the weekend and just buy it from those nice guys at Showcase?" We called the sales manager probably 10 times before we actually booked the flight just to be sure that the exact car was there that we wanted and that we could get the exact price we discussed last week. We stressed that we wanted to be quick with the paperwork and get out of there with the car in a hurry. They said, "You bet - we'll get the car detailed right now and pull it to the side so it's all ready for you." My husband and I were amazed - "Dang, buying a car is not that hard!" Fast forward to the next morning. Sales manager we've been talking with all week doesn't even show up - strike one. We come in to the dealership as it's opening, get to work on our papers, and ask to see the car. Ummm not here. Supposedly the owner took it home on Friday (it is now Sunday). Weird. But they're sending a lot attendant to pick it up right now, get it detailed, and you can drive out of here in 2 hours max. Kind of annoying, but ok. Now they start pressuring us to sign the papers when we haven't even seen the car in a week. Uh, no thanks. We go to lunch with my parents and come back to Showcase, ready to do our final signatures and drive off in our beautiful new Pilot, but OF COURSE the car is still not there! Now they tell us, "Well the owner just hasn't picked up his phone." WAIT! In 24 hours the owner has not once answered your calls???!? The owner of Showcase Honda (VanTuyl) who also happens to own like 80 other car dealerships and has his own Learjet is driving around a Honda Pilot for the weekend???!? Most disturbing of all - YOU LIED TO US! Blatant lies, for 24 hours. They knew all along that the car was not there and allowed us to PURCHASE PLANE TICKETS because of these lies! Then, of course, they tried to push us into another car. I believe that is what they call the ol' bait & switch. If you live in Phoenix, seriously, do yourself a favor and learn from my mistake: do NOTdo any sort of business with any dealership owned by the VanTuyl Group. There's a lot of 'em - look them up here before you go car shopping http://www.vantuylgroup.com/dealership.html. I have never been treated to a shadier, slimier experience. Side note: since we were already in Phoenix, we immediately got online, found another dealer that would honor our price match (Earnhardt Honda in Avondale), and drove back to Vegas in our new Pilot a couple hours later. read more

Ever been to Chinatown in NYC? Expect to get hassled even more here. Most annoying and deceiving sales team I've worked with. I bought my car elsewhere but bring it here for service now, and the service team is just as bad. Not to mention the sales guys won't leave you alone when you go for service. Get off me! read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! If I could leave 0 stars I would. My son and his wife (he's active duty Army stationed in El Paso, Tx and she's a stay at home mom for their 1 yr old daughter) bought a pre-owned Civic SI when they were in town a couple weeks ago. They bought the car on a weekend night and signed preliminary contracts for the purchase. On Monday the credit union came back with a lower interest rate yet their payment stayed the same. Before signing the final contracts on Monday they were told by the finance person that 'nothing had changed' so they signed the final contracts in good faith based on what they were told. Upon recent review of their paperwork, material contract changes were made without their knowledge. The purchase price of the car was increased, the extended warranty they agreed to went from 84 mos to 24 mos (a complete waste of $3,000 because the factory warranty covers the same time period), and they were told that gap insurance that they were sold was 'required' by the credit union (but I don't know if this is true). My son has made several attempts to get the finance person to contact him. No call back. I went to the dealership IN PERSON last night and spoke to the finance person directly and was assured my son would be contacted today. No contact. I called the dealership tonight and asked for names and e-mail addresses for the general and finance managers. No one could help me because no one knew e-mail addresses and their business cards are "in their offices" apparently. I then went to the Showcase Honda "contact" page just now and left a message much like this one and received the following reply: "Thank you for submitting your request for information to Showcase Honda. Here at Showcase Honda, we are committed to providing you with the best experience possible. Unfortunately, based upon your initial request, we were unable to determine the specific vehicle you requested. Please click on the Quick Quote button below to specify your desired vehicle and receive a price quote." Unbelievable. My concerns: 1. Material contract changes to the purchase price and extended warranty to pocket the difference between the quoted and final loan interest rate. This resulted in an approx $500 increase in the purchase price from the first to final contract and the sale of a virtually worthless extended warranty. The changes made to my son's contract were not disclosed to him and were NOT initialed by him in writing. He asked if there were any changes verbally and signed the contract in good faith based on what he was told. He'll never make that mistake again. 2. Virtually impossible to get anyone to respond to you. 3. How many other people does this happen to every day at this dealership? Why am I handling this issue? My son and his family live out of state and can't just drive over to take car of this. He, like many others, have taken an oath to defend Showcase Honda's freedom to screw people over whenever they can (my words, not his). Pathetic. The dealership has until Sunday July 26th to contact either my son or myself. Your finance person should know EXACTLY who I'm talking about. If not, we will register a detailed complaint with copies of both sets of contracts to the Attorney General's office. Dealership - Don't reply with a "thanks for your concern, please contact us at ...". I will NOT contact the dealership again. We've done more than enough on our end. YOU CONTACT ONE OF US. If you are truly concerned about solving this issue you'll figure out how to get ahold of us. read more

I would give a negative 5 stars if I could. These guys are shysters! I drove away really happy after buying my car at showcase last month. I continued to be a happy camper driving around in my new car until about a week after purchasing it when my debit card was declined for a $1 coffee at circle k one morning on the way to work. I called my bank and found out that showcase honda had not only pulled the downpayment for my car but they also helped themselves to an additional large amount of money in a strange denomination that made no sense and essentially wiped out all of my funds. It took me 2 days of calls to the finance department to finally get my money put back into my account only to have another large amount of money in a strange denomination pulled from my account two days later. They kept saying they had lost the check that I had written them for my down payment ,even though the check had already cleared several days before and the amount they were pulling from my account was not even close to the down payment amount at all! I had not even authorized them to debit my account with my debit card!! I had given them my debit card # to sign up for an automatic deduction of car payments thru another company they use, but the payment wasn'tdue for over 30 days and the amounts they were pulling were not payments they were random amounts that even the finance girl couldn't explain. The finance girls were really snotty with me at first telling me I was wrong until they got a clue and realized they were wrong and then said it would be reversed in 24 hrs. I patiently waited with ZERO funds in my account until the next day and nothing. It took several days to get my money put back into my account and with an explaination of "we lost your downpayment check" which had cleared my bank several days earlier and was a very different dollar amount! They declined to pay any over draft fees from my bank even after admitting they made a mistake in pulling the money. Then 2 days later they did it again for a different, unauthorized odd dollar amount that made no sense at all. I ended up having to close the debit card and order another one and my bank suggested I file fraud charges and then close the bank account. I called and left several messages to the "finance manager" nearly in tears over what was happening but I never got a return call. I also called the guy who wrote my deal and helped me do all the paper work and he never bothered to call back either. They also sent me plates and didn't bother to credit me the nearly $100 bucks from my old plates that I told them I wanted to keep so I had to spend a few hours at the DMV getting my plates switched over and a credit. They said they would give me credit for the 2+ years left on the service contract of the vehicle I traded in but they blew that off and charged me full price for a new service contract-I found that out when I got the service contract paperwork in the mail yesterday. My salesman called early last week to see how I was loving my new car and I told him what was going on and how upset I was and that the service manager was not returning my calls. The salesman said he would tell the manager and look into it and get back to me. That was a week and a half ago and still not a call back. Wow, what a dissappointment. I guess they already got my money so why bother investigating my complaints about how SCREWED OVER I was in the process. Never again. I read the bad reviews here before going to showcase and thought it wouldn't happen to me or it couldnt be that bad. There is a reason most people on here give 1 star. BE WARNED OF THE SHOWCASE HONDA SHYSTERS!!! Its sad really. read more

Showcase Honda (Camelback and 16th St.) October 31, 2014, on this day the trick was on me. No test-drives allowed! After a relaxing morning of a message and facial, I decided as I was driving by the dealership to test drive two cars: CRV and FIT. I was warmly greeted by Nykki, salesperson. I told her what I want to test drive. She informed me that the dealership on had a used FIT, but had many CRV's to chose from. We went inside. I gave her my ID. As she was gathering my information I stated that I should have brought my car here while I getting a facial and message earlier today. She agreed that would have been ideal. I asked Nykki to hold on to my license as I went to the service department to see if they could service my car. Zach held my driver license in hand as he looked at me, " Is this ID was yours", as he stated my name. "What car are you going to trade in"? My reply, "I am not. I want to test drive a car." He stepped closer and restated, "I know, but what car you doing to trade in I can help you." I replied again, "I am not, Zach. I just want to test drive a car. I going to find Nykki and do just that.... test drive a car." Zach stated again as he put his hands on his hips, "I'm Nykki's manager, so just help me you, what car." I cut him off and said, "Zach, I did not say I wanted to purchase a car today. I want to test drive a car today. So, I can not discuss if I have a trade-in because I am not there yet if at all." He said, "Why not, I just need to know.... What car you are going to trade in today. I can wait until service figures out the numbers." I said firmly, "Zach, I am not going to discuss that. I am test driving a car only. Period." I held my hand up as he was taking steps closer to me and talking. Moments later I found Nykki and told her I still wanted to test drive but only the CRV. Nykki returned to me a few minutes later and said Zach told her not to test drive a car with me and to stand in front of the building. I asked her is she told he I wanted to test drive while my care was being service. She said, "I told him," as se shock her head. I shared with wit Danny and Zach supervisor who apologized for my experience. I was so upset. Did he react this way because I am a woman by myself or because I am black or both? I will never know. I will never go back to the dealership. I have had my car services there a few times. Many people apologized for Zach behavior. He lied when he was confronted about his actions. Zach later lied and said he thought I had test drove a car already. I had thought about buying a Honda again. The questions was which one: CRV or FIT? The two cars I asked to test drive. I will never go back to Showcase Honda. read more

I was getting ready to purchase my third Honda From SHOWCASE HONDA. Dealt with a sales person calling himself AJ. Nice gentleman w/ good follow up. After some meaningful exchange of information regarding my trade-in and my budget we came close to a deal BUT were $350 off. Like most dealership sales reps, AJ was not the final decision maker, which meant dealing with the sales manager. When talking to the sales manager, he would not do the deal due to the $350 difference. He then offered to split the difference and when I said no - he said, "thank you for your time." End of dialogue... One of the largest Honda dealerships in the nation passed up on $22,000 CASH for $175 - - - Hard to believe that a sales director (AT) would not demonstrate flexibility to a long time customer for a measly $175!!! I e-mailed AJ the sales rep to let him know that I would blog & tweet my experience. After reading this, I hope they wake up and smell the coffee. Probably won't do business with them again given my experience. = = = = = It's now a month later and the vehicle they would NOT sell for a difference of $175 is still being advertised! Showcase Honda management lack business savvy!!! read more

If I could give zero stars I would have. Was talked down to by the financing guy Jose. He seemed to think we had never bought a car or financed anything in our lives. He never was straight forward with what the final price of actual car. When I asked him how much he was going to give us for the trade in (2010 honda insight with low miles) he told us that it didn't matter. He finally said around $11000. Average trade in on 4 different websites was $15000. When I told him that he said "the internet is just the internet, it isn't correct." Long story short, he was so rude we walked out on him. This place is horrible. Obviously we will never take the car back for any service issues either. read more

As far as I'm concerned, any review that isn't a 1-2 star for Showcase Honda is fake. I guarantee that the 5 star reviews are fake! This place is everything you would imagine when you think of "sleazy used car salesmen" car lot. They pull every trick in the book, taking your drivers license then conveniently losing it when you want to leave, etc etc. I could go on and on, but just take my advice, BE CAREFUL. Avoid this place. These showcase honda guys are clowns and will attempt to make you overpay. Don't do test drives because they will take your license and not give it back until you get pissed off and make a scene. After dealing with these guys for a few hours, I'll never even take a chance and step foot on that lot EVER again. I'd rather give my money to ANYONE else. AVOID!!! read more

So we drove onto the lot and were chased into our parking spot by a salesman. And of course he was SUPER sleazy! All that I wanted to do was test drive a Honda Fit, and they did not have ONE single car. He then proceeded go into a little glass room to find out when they would be getting them in. We wanted to leave right then but the sales weasel took 10 mins of our time, to come back with the answer "we don't know". Good thing! I would have NEVER bought from this weaselly sales clown. read more

OK, this review is based on my first ever experience buying a car. I found Showcase Honda merely by the fact that they had one of the cheapest prices on a certified pre-owned 2012 Honda CRV. Upon reading the reviews I was wary of moving forward with negotiating a deal. However, the price was too good to not at least test the waters. Here are the notable experiences that I feel influenced my decision on 3 stars: SALES EXPERIENCE (Brice Kwi): Very helpful throughout the whole process, never pushy when we told him we had another car to check out, tried pulling some questionable moves near the end of the deal. Called to follow-up while I was at the 2nd dealership that day (this may annoy some people but it really added to my advantage during the negotiation phase as I could play both dealers against each other). When we talked about price I told him my maximum OTD price was $23,000 (car was listed for $21,775). He called me to tell me that the best he could come up with was $24,250 OTD, but that his manager had agreed to $23,800. At this point we had decided that we really wanted the car from Showcase but were wary of the reviews we had read. We actually negotiated the rest of the deal over text message and landed on $23,500 OTD. This was great for me as I had a record of what we had agreed on should it become an issue once we got back to Showcase. Upon returning he presented me and my wife the offer sheet with the OTD price of $24,627! ADDED onto our original agreed upon price of $23,500 was $1100 for what he said was the CERTIFICATION FEE they charged to certify the car. Luckily we had brought the printout of the advertisement which clearly stated that included in the online price of $21,775 was the certification along with the applicable warranties. He said, oh let me show this to my boss, he disappeared for about 10 minutes and came back and said ok my boss said he would honor this (duh!). While I'm not sure if this $1100 add-on was his idea or something his boss instructed him to push on us I'm not sure, but it was annoying enough to downgrade the overall experience. Bottom line, come prepared with all the documents stating prices and what is included in the price, while this is obviously a good idea at all dealerships, I would say it is an absolute NECESSITY at this dealership based on other reviews and my experience. FINANCING DEPARTMENT: I did bring my own pre-approved financing from Bank of America but they still insisted on running my credit so they could be in compliance with the Patriot Act (may or may not be legitimate I've since read arguments for and against this practice). They still agreed that I could use my BOA financing. A couple of days later I noticed that my credit has been pulled by 3 different banks! (none of which were BOA). Looking back though my paper work I did sign that I was OK with them "shopping around' for a lender, but I was led to believe my credit would not be pulled again and that BOA would be my lender. I ended up with Wells Fargo with the same rate so that's ok I guess, still very misleading and potentially damaging to my credit (it wasn't in the end) FINANCING DEPARTMENT PART II: Although I considered us to be well researched, prepared and knowledgeable of the car-buying process I didn't do enough research on how to negotiate (or just flat turn down) the extended warranty. After a lot of negotiating I finally agreed (this was a terrible decision) to buy an extended warranty which included a bumper to bumper warranty for 100,000 miles as well as service (basically oil changes and tire rotations) for $2700 (what was I thinking!) The part of this process that really bothered me and I felt to be misleading was that the deductible was NEVER mentioned. Now, this may seem like an obvious thing to ask about but after being here for 5+ hours I simply forgot-(buyers fatigue!). I'm not downgrading them for my stupidity but for their incredibly misleading facts about the deductible. I noticed when I got home that I was given the $100 vanishing deductible, this meant that I wouldn't be charged a deductible as long as I brought the vehicle to be serviced AT SHOWCASE HONDA. This might not be a big deal if I lived in Phoenix, however, I live 3 hrs away and this was brought up time and time again during the negotiations of the warranty. I specifically asked if I could get the car worked on at a dealer closer to me. I was told of course, no problem, which was technically true, he just left out the fact that it would cost me an EXTRA $100 each time I had anything done on top of the already exuberant $2700 warranty fee. I've since decided to cancel the warranty which I can luckily do through the warranty company itself. Bottom line, I found this to be very deceptive and imagine other people have fallen into the same trap. Ultimately I got a good deal and am happy, but BEWARE and be PREPARED! read more

As promised... My Honda battery was failing. Called service in the AM and told them I use my car for work and needed to know the price and time it would take to replace. Was quoted 95 bucks for the battery, no installation charge and about 30 to 40 minutes. When I got there I asked the service rep how long and reiterated I need to get back to work. He said 30-40 minutes same as the other service rep had said. 45 minutes later a different rep came out and told me I needed my battery replaced..... no kidding... I asked him if it was done he said no that it would take another 10 - 15 minutes. After 20 I asked the gal at the front desk to check the status. she told me it would take another 10-15 minutes... Not once did the original service rep who I made it very clear I needed to get out of there as promised, apologize nor did Showcase offer anything in return, except for free coffee and some greasy popcorn. Now dig this... the last time I replaced my battery I got the 100 month warranty one. This is a 2006 vehicle. I was told I had to pay full price because it was a better deal than the 'pro-rated' battery I bought less than 100 months ago. I asked him to do the math, but he was obviously educated from birth in AZ and looked at me with his mouth open and did nothing to explain it. As I was leaving I told him to look on yelp for my review. Not blaming the kid, but the management. read more

I came in to Honda several times interested in leasing a new accord as the lease on my existing accord was running out. They have the nerve to ask for $500 a month for an accord. Uhhh who do you think you are? BMW? I got them to come down a couple hundred dollars over the weeks after they called me a million times chasing me. We finally agreed on a final monthly and down over the phone. They tell me we are printing up the paperwork and I go in there for the THIRD time this month and the paperwork has higher numbers on it. I had enough and walked out. At least this got them to stop calling. Before this final walk out I had 5 people calling me from Honda every day. I have been leasing hondas forever but the way I was treated here makes me want to walk away from the company altogether. Scam artists and stalkers. read more
